An ex-cop sent to prison for something he didn’t do, Kurt Doyle knows from experience that nothing good ever happens on a Monday. So when his Grams hooks him up with a friend in need of a bodyguard, he knows better than to get involved… until the Little in Scotti Moore provokes the dominant Daddy in him. She’s small, she’s sweet, she’s innocent. She’s almost more trouble than she’s worth, and … she’s a librarian, for crying out loud. But she needs his protection, and even if she is everything he wants, he knows the last thing she needs is a man who brings more trouble.

A compelling story that you can’t put down, the story itself was addictive to read. The characters were easy to connect with, their backgrounds made you care about what they were going through. I loved the bathroom scene and the way Scotti had of saying things that could easily be misconstrued. The plot perfectly describes domestic abuse and how the victims can often be ignored. I read this right through and kept picturing the Lifetime movie it could totally be turned into. I’m definitely recommending this book to my friends!
I enjoyed this story immensely. It was funny, sweet, sexy and super romantic. Scotti and Kurt are the sweetest couple. And his grandmother just made me laugh out loud. Talk about a matchmaker, she knew exactly what she was doing. Great book.
This one warmed my heart AND made me laugh & smile so much I read a lot of it aloud to my roommate. The author does a wonderful job (IMO) of crafting two totally likable/lovable characters: Kurt (H) a 32 year old ex-cop & freshly released convict who is exhaustedly & tenaciously looking for a job (ANY job) while living with his ‘force of nature’ 92 year old Grandmother Sadie, & Scottie (h) a young librarian being terrorized by her former Daddy Dom named Gopher.
Scottie’s 911 calls to the police go unheeded because they’ve never found physical evidence of Gopher’s night forays into Scottie’s home to terrify her. And now, she’s been warned if she calls again, SHE will be arrested. Unable to obtain help from the authorities, not able to afford hiring private protection, Scottie’s is increasingly panicked & doesn’t know what to do, where to go or who to ask for protection.
Enter Sadie, whose huge, tough, muscled ex-policeman grandson just stopped ‘working for the state’ (translation: just got released from prison) & needs money. And in Sadie’s opinion, a love interest.
Kurt has a history of all the bad things that happened in his life taking place on a Monday. He’s been reduced to accepting employment in a pitifully low paying & humiliating job (with a 17 year old manager) & has a multitude of accidents between accepting the job & picking Sadie up at the library. Sadie has decided Kurt is the one Scottie needs to help her with her problem, in addition Sadie thinks Scottie needs a love interest too.
And so, on this Monday, Sadie not very subtly brings Kurt & Scottie together in an effort to resolve their problems & love life . . . .
I really enjoyed this slow burn romance A LOT.
Kurt IS tough & stern but very protective & loving when it comes to his ‘Little’. Kurt’s angst comes from his very objective view that as an ex-con, living with his grandmother, no car, no money, he is not financially able to responsibly care for a ‘Little’ even though his heart craves to be Scottie’s Daddy so much. My heart went out to this man of honor who had so much love & care to offer but felt he did not have the ability to be a Daddy for anyone at this time. But sometimes the heart, & life, take choice away from you . . . .
And I really liked Scottie, she’s a Little but not bratty, not an attention hog, not a crybaby, doesn’t act out. She DOES make a few bad decisions that could have ended badly, & she’s not very good with laundry & a few other things, but she is a loving, sweet, kind woman who is immediately attracted to Kurt’s strength, calm power, decisiveness & stern rules & consequences. But Scottie just KNOWS once Kurt’s taken care of her ex-Dom, he’ll move on. Because a man like him would never want her as a ‘Little’ . . . .
This story is about two people finding themselves & each other, about two wonderful characters in a tentative & careful approach to a loving relationship they both need & crave. There is one sizzling encounter toward the end of the book but the story is focused almost wholly on Kurt & Scottie’s journey to a potential future together.
And I loved it.

We stan! As a librarian and a little it’s been my favorite CGL short I think ever.
I enjoyed this read and loved Kurt and Scotti. I felt so bad for Scotti when she tried to get help and they were horrible to her. I liked Kurt and I was sad that something so horrible happened to him. I loved these two together and I am so glad that in the end they both found each other and Kurt got his life back.
Daddy’s Little Librarian – Maren Smith – He was framed, sent to prison in the general populations as a cop, released on parole, and is now employed as a birthday pirate at a fast food restaurant. Kurt didn’t think his Monday could get any worse when the girl who framed him walks into the restaurant he just got hired at. Leaving quickly, he bumps into a bee hive and is chased into a pool. Dripping wet he arrives at the library to pick up his grandmother when she shoves him into a men’s room with a pretty librarian who’s ex wants to kill her. And I thought my day was going poorly! Cute little novella! Happy Reading!
What a wonderful quick read perfect for a Saturday afternoon! Kurt is an ex-cop fresh out of prison after being framed by his girlfriend’s daughter. Scotti is a librarian who is being harassed by an ex-boyfriend. She hires Kurt to protect her. They quickly realize each is their other half. The storyline is sweet and steamy. You’ll still be smiling hours after you finish the story. Great job Maren!
Scotti is a librarian Little and is being terrorized by her exdaddy, Gopher. She is introduced to Kurt, a Daddy dom who just got out of prison. She hires him to protect her and Kurt assigns himself as her new daddy. The ending is ok, but it would’ve been nice to have an epilogue having him show her off at a club or proposing.
I loved it. I had to buy it it was that awesome
This is a fairly new author to me and not the type of book I normally read; D/l is not something I tend to read a lot of. That being said this short story, takes about an hour or so to read, is really well written and some fun parts to it. It’s a quick easy read for when you just want to relax and not think too much!

Just a very sweet, sexy, action packed story. Scottie is having troubles with her ex and she hires Kurt to be her bodyguard. Now you will have to read the book to see what happens
This was a great short and enjoyable read. It was witty and had wonderful characters that kept me entertained from the start.

Scotti needs protection from her ex that has turned into a psychopath. Kurt is just out of prison and a former cop not wanting to do anything but try to get on with his life. His Grandmother has other plans though she introduces him to Scotti for him to help. Scotti doesn’t want to have anything to do with her but he listens and then takes her home. When they get their and Scotti has locked herself out he has to pick her lock but once its open he sees that she is still terrified to go in. So he goes in to check things out but tells her to stay on the porch which she disobeys and he ends up with a face full of feminine hyenine spray. When he says the place is safe she goes upstairs but doesn’t immediately come back down so he goes looking for her. He ends up finding her crying in the closet holding her stuffy like the lil she is. This wakes up the Daddy Dom in him. Will Kurt be the Daddy Dom that Scotti needs and keep her safe?
This is a great story that will have you laughing out loud at most of it. The chemistry between the sizzles from the pages. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Scotti is terrified her ex is haunting her and breaking in threatening her. When her sweet friend offers her grandson Kurt to protect her she has hope for the first time since this terror all started.
When Kurt and Scotti meet it’s a series of misunderstandings, lust and so much more that has them crazy for each other.
Will he be able to save her and will she be able to save him?
Exciting with twists you’ll love.

Scotti could be Kurt’s perfect librarian
This is my 4th book by Maren and I love authors who write in dual point of view. Scotti is terrorized by her ex-boyfriend though no one believes her. Kurt served 2 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit and his only job prospect is as a cabin boy at Pirate Pete’s Squid House. Kurt’s Grams plays matchmaker and pushes Kurt to move in with Scotti to protect her from the ex-boyfriend. When Kurt and Scotti get to know one another’s kinks, things start looking brighter for each. What happens when the ex continues to terrorize Scotti? You have to read to find out, and will be laughing along the way with their antics!
What a delightfully, fun book. This was an easy read with a story that flowed and characters that had personalities that were totally relatable. The plot flowed through with a continual building while the rest of the story unfolded. And thoroughly delightful it was to see the Daddy/Little relationship as it unfolded. The interactions between Kurt and Scotti, and even Kurt’s grandmother, had me chuckling ( sometimes to myself and sometimes out loud).
This was and it wasn’t the book I was expecting. I expected all of the steamy heat of the Lifestyle this book brings. What I wasn’t expecting were all the laugh-out-loud moments. There are parts of this story that are a full-fledged Shakespearean comedy of errors. The author has used the phrase “what’s the worst that could happen?” to amazing effect. I adored Kurt’s grandmother. She was my absolute favorite character in the book. I don’t know if I want someone like her in my life or if I want to be her when I grow up.

I thought that this book was fun, sweet, romantic and steamy. I really like that DDlg book seemed to be firmly grounded in reality. This is not always the case with this type of trope and I found it to be refreshing. I thought that Scotti and Kurt were perfect together. With some drama and suspense added to the mix, I felt that this book delivered an enjoyable romance with a great balance of heat and heart.
Daddy’s Little Librarian is a stand alone age play romance. Scotti is in danger from her ex, but no one believes her. When she hires a bodyguard, she never expects to find someone who could both protect her and engage her inner Little. But with Kurt’s past and one dangerous and jealous ex, will Scotti stay safe and can they have a future together?
I absolutely adored this romance! There is so much sweetness, so much connection between Scotti and Kurt that I just fell in love with their characters and my heart felt for their situation. Scotti is so strong, but I loved it when her Little side came out to play. I felt like her character was relatable, and while I’ve never been in her dangerous situation before, I feel like I would have responded in similar ways. Kurt had something terrible happen to him, but I loved that it didn’t drag him down. He was a fighter, he was a protector, and he was the perfect Daddy that Scotti needed. Their connection was pure and natural, I loved the support and love they had for each other, and can I just mention the drama in this book was absolutely perfect! I was completely hooked on this book from the very first page and loved every moment I spent reading this book!
