She’s temptation personifiedNathan’s always been more than just my dad’s friend. I never thought he’d see me as an adult, especially not after avoiding me for so long. But one hug, one moment feeling every inch of him against me, shatters that illusion. Consequences no longer matter–I’m eighteen, and I’m willing to risk everything for my shot with him. He’s not going to resist anymoreI never … resist anymore
I never should’ve seen Eve as more than my best friend’s daughter. As a cop, I know it’s wrong. It’s my job to protect her from guys like me. Chasing her could cost me my career–not to mention the only family I’ve ever known–but I can’t hold back another second. One taste, and I want her. To hell with the fallout.

Brandon and Nathan have been friends since their freshman year in high school. Nathan came from a poorer side of town, Brandon is a senator’s son headed for Yale, and Nathan the army. Now, all these years later Brandon’s daughter,Eve that he’s raised as a single father and when Nathan returned from service he would pitch in with five-year-old Eve.
Over the years Brandon started focusing on his career more than Evie. So many missed dinners, and an important call that had to be taken on the one time the she is finally going to be together with her dad, or him buying a level up home that most would call a mansion and Brandon ended up working late and it would drive home more just how alone Eve really was.
Yet, even with Nathan being a cop he took time to talk to her, knew her favorites, and made sure she was safe. But at her seventeenth birthday everything changed. They had a swim party for her and of course her dad not paying attention allows her to wear a mini bikini in white. Now, this is where I need to explain Eve is a curvy girl with a breast for days. Dad what were you thinking? Well, Nathan nearly lost it. He never returns until a year later for another function because being around Eve could cost him everything because he kept seeing her as a woman not a minor. Graduation party day she was eighteen plus a month.
He could have made it through but her dad starts doing business during the party and Eve came gunning for Nathan. You see she’s been crushing on Nathan longer than Nathan has been wet dreaming about her. This is actually funny and sad all rolled into one. But I have too say I enjoyed it. Found it on kindle unlimited.
Loved this story about Nathan and Eve. They were great together and so cute. Nathan and Eve were great characters and the supporting characters were great as well. Must read!
Something would really have to go wrong in a book for me to not enjoy a forbidden romance, especially one with a large age gap that doubles down on the taboo. This book had popped up in my goodreads feed once before and I can’t remember why I didn’t buy it then because I thought it looked like my kind of story. But when it came up again a few days ago, I bought it right away.
At only 100 (? I think, don’t quote me on that) pages, this was a fast read and I had it down in less than an hour.
Fabulous writing, quick paced and just enough character and world building to make it all believable.
Honestly, if you’re looking for something deep and meaningful, you’re not going to get it out of this book. But if you don’t mind being dropped into a romance where the longing for one another is already way up there, and things progress very quickly, then I would definitely recommend this, especially if you’re looking for a quick read.
Nathan was seriously HOT, no wonder Eve had fallen in love with him. For her part, I think Eve came across as a little too mature and sure of herself as an eighteen year old, she read more like mid-twenties, but as I had already fully and willingly suspended every scrap of belief to read this book, I just went with it and it didn’t really detract from the story. Would I have enjoyed it if it was longer? Yes, because these two characters had great chemistry. But the short length (which I don’t always enjoy) in this case didn’t detract from the story at all.
At some stage I’m going to get the rest of the books in the series, and then track down the two authors who wrote this together under a pen name (Ellis Leigh and Brighton Walsh) to see what books of theirs I might like to read.
