Between caring for his shifter war brothers at the VA, being a single dad, and his duties with the elite Special Ops Shifter Force, Dr. Drake Sheridan has his hands full. Being called away to covertly diffuse the most complex issues amongst clans—ones that even the shifter conclave can’t handle—can be tough, but this Special Forces Medical Sergeant is always up for the challenge. When he gets a … a call about an Alpha who’s supposedly been brainwashed by her three mates, Drake knows he has to step in.
Nikki’s triad of mates treats her like a queen—or so she thinks. She doesn’t see a problem in her Eureka, California bear clan, but her sister won’t stop telling her otherwise. When a newcomer named Drake shows up in town looking for a clan to join, Nikki knows he’s a good fit, but her inner bear goes berserk whenever he’s around. She’s already found her mates, so what’s going on with her bear?
As soon as he encounters Nikki, Drake’s bear craves to claim her as his. But his mate died in childbirth years ago; he still beats himself up for not being able to save her and never thought he’d love again. But the way his bear yearns for Nikki now has him thinking otherwise.
No matter what his bear wants, he’s in Eureka on a mission and won’t give up until he gets to the bottom of the mystery behind Nikki’s devious mates. He can’t let his heart get involved. Or can he?

Shifter Nation: Special Ops Shifters, Book 1
By: Meg Ripley
Narrated by: Stephen Borne
This is a terrific shifter romance and I enjoyed everything about it. Meg Ripley is a gifted author, she created interesting and imaginative storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters and the world dynamics are complex and well developed. I adored Drake Sheridan, he is a doctor who works at the VA and is part of the elite Special Ops Shifter “SOS” Force, he is also a single father of an adorable daughter, Lindy. When he receives a call from Piper, the packs Beta in Eureka, she explains that something is going on with her sister, Nikki, the pack’s Alpha and she needs the help of SOS Force. When Drake hears what is going on he goes in undercover to find out what is going on. Only Piper knows why he is there and she assists him when she can, she knows something is not right with her sister and her supposedly three mates, Neal, Clint and Max. I thought it was great that Meg Ripley included witches and different types of shifters in this story. The pack in Eureka are Bear shifters, as is Drake, his team members, Garrison is a Dragon Shifter, Flint is a Wold Shifter and Hudson, the tech guru is a Lion shifter. They make a great powerful team as they work together to get to the bottom of what is going on in Eureka and with Nikki. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, angst, action, some thrilling & suspenseful moments, some heartfelt moment, a heartbreaking one and the start of a great romance. Meg Ripely, thank you for this great story.

He does a great job portraying the characters and projecting their emotions into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
