I’m the one who isn’t pregnant. Yet… around.
Say what?
Because surprise—he’s a single father, and now he’s the most eligible one in Crescent Cove.
Every horny woman in our small town wants a go at his tool…belt.
And then we’re caught on camera—I still had my pants on, thank you—and all Hades breaks loose.
Now the little secret he kept from me isn’t nearly as important as Gideon keeping custody of his daughter.
When that full moon rises on Halloween, I might finally be dropping my mask. And risking it all for love…and really good hammering.
Author’s note: This romantic comedy is Macy and Gideon’s story—finally!—and has a happily-ever-after ending.

What a great story. The number of single people in Cresent Cove is dwindling. And the one bachelorette who is hard as nails may be off the market.
This author always writes beautifully, lots of character building and just the right dose of hotness.
I immediately adored Macy Devereaux upon her introduction in book three, Who’s The Daddy, and have been waiting patiently for her story ever since. Okay, that’s a total lie. I’ve been freakin’ anxious for her story, craving more of her sarcastic wit and suffer-no-fools feistiness, and Taryn Quinn finally delivers in book 7. Macy is still delightfully snarky, and I couldn’t get enough.
I don’t know exactly how to describe John Gideon. He’s firm but a softy when it comes to those he loves.
He’s not an alpha, though he certainly takes charge when the moment calls for it. Thankfully there were numerous moments that called for it. Ahem…Whatever you call him, he’s a perfect match to go toe-to-toe with Macy, giving her the space to be her surly self while sensing the vulnerabilities that even she won’t acknowledge.
After dancing around each other forfreakingever, creating sparks that singed anyone within the town proper and parts beyond, Macy and Gideon finally got out of their own way long enough to put themselves and everyone else out of their misery. I’m here to tell ya that four books of foreplay were indeed worth the wait.
The population of Crescent Cove has swelled with expectant couples. So much that I had a hard time keeping track of who’s who in this current installment. After a while I gave up and enjoyed every moment with the main characters of the previous books. There were so so many hilarious and emotional scenes, which is just one of the reasons I love this series.
I thoroughly enjoyed Macy and Gideon’s story, and can’t wait for what’s next.
4.5 stars
This has some friends to lovers and a semi-secret kid. Macy and Gideon have been circling each other for a while and now things come to a head—when she finds out he has a daughter. A bit of up and down and a lot of feeling inadequate. Nicely told story.
I have really looked forward to Macy and Gideon’s story but it was a bit of a slow start for me. Otherwise I loved them and look forward to more of the Crescent Cove crew!!
I enjoyed reading this book even though Macy got on my nerves in the beginning. I liked in all of the other books but I didn’t like the way she treated Gideon when she found out his secret. I liked Gideon from the beginning and Dani was adorable. After finally dancing around each other for years, an ad that Dani placed on Instagram finally pushed them together. Even thought Macy felt betrayed in the beginning, she couldn’t fight the chemistry her and Gideon had together. When Gideon’s ex-wife shows up to cause trouble, Gideon has to decide if Macy is worth fighting for while fighting for Dani. I really liked the ending because it just tied up the storyline nicely. I liked the new characters introduced in the book and am looking forward to reading their stories.

Secrets. Everybody has them. And even if you think that you know someone, chances are good that there’s more going on that meets the eye. Take John Gideon, for example. He and Macy Devereux have major chemistry, have danced around each other for years, so finding out that he has a daughter is quite the surprise. What comes next for these two is even more surprising…
I love the little town of Crescent Cove and the folks that live there. The ladies that write as Taryn Quinn have created a place and people that literally jump off the page with personality, and where visiting is always a real treat. DADDY IN DISGUISE, the seventh book in the series, is such a good read. People that I’ve come to know and enjoy, finally getting the story that has been building, and what a story they have.
To say that there is passion arcing between Macy and John is an understatement. They are like fire, these two, and I am so excited to see them get to recognize it. They are truly perfect for each other, whether they realize it or not.
I have to mention Dani Gideon here, and say that she really does steal the show. She is everything that a TQ heroine is, just about 15 years younger. I adore her, and could see immediately that there was no way that Macy was going to able to resist her, either. Mirror image, these two.
Like the other books in the series, DADDY IN DISGUISE is a standalone, but it is definitely helpful, and absolutely more entertaining, to read the other books in the series. If you’re looking for a sexy, smalltown, feel-good read with a little bit of angst, laugh-out-loud moments, and plenty of sass, this is your book. Grab it without delay and enjoy.
If you’ve been reading this wonderfully written series then you’re familiar with Macy. If you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for?
Macy is the owner of Brewed Awakenings. The best coffee shop in town. She creates special blends for her customers that keep them coming back for more. Macy is quite sassy and you can’t help but love her. She also has an obsession with all things Halloween.
Macy and Gideon have been dancing around each other with nothing brewing, until now. But surprise! Gideon has an ex and an 8 year old daughter! Macy’s not a fan of kids and we don’t know why. But Dani (Gideon’s daughter) posts pictures of him online which make him the hottest dad around and women flock to come meet him. How can he fend them off, by fake dating Macy but the ex appears.
You can’t help but route for Macy and Gideon and Dani is hysterical. Of course, their path isn’t smooth sailing but you definitely want to go on this ride. I love Gideon and Macy (and Dani too!)
Macy and Gideon is everything that I have been waiting for. Then the extra bonus of Dani and the cats. I loved this story and could not put it down. This series of stand alone books never disappoints. Taryn Quinn never disappoints. I live that you get to see other characters from other books and keep up with them. Macy is a bad a**. I can’t wait for the next installment.
Gideon and Macy have a roller coaster story with lots of humor, sweetness, emotion and of course heat!
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
I really enjoyed Macy and Gideon’s story. It reads very quick and fun. I am amazed at how these authors continue to create and develop such unique characters and stories, no two are the same. They put so much thought and creativity into their writing and obviously have an outstanding perception of feelings, thoughts and emotions to make each character a very real person to the reader. The book stands alone, but once read it you may want to go back and discover all the inhabitants of Crescent Cove from the beginning – just don’t drink the water there!
Macy is busy with her coffee shop and a new restaurant about to open. She doesn’t have time for a man, and she’s definitely not looking to “drink the water” in Crescent Cove and end up pregnant, but a little fling might help her get some sleep. And she knows just who she wants, and that’s John Gideon.
Gideon is busy working on the renovations for Macy’s restaurant and when he gets the greenlight from Macy in the form of a kiss, he’s going for it. There’s only one problem — everyone in town knows Macy is not interested in kids (and I mean everyone, it struck me as odd that just about every characters says something about it) and the first bump in the road for them is the fact that Gideon has a young daughter.
There’s a cute bit with Gideon’s daughter forcing the situation with a social media ad and the conflict is provided by the return of the ex. Standard stuff, there aren’t any surprises in the story.
Macy and Gideon do work well together. She’s hot and spicy and he’s solid with a nice streak of “alpha” to him. He knows he wants Macy and isn’t afraid to say it. They work well together in and out of the bedroom.
So, overall, no big surprises, a steamy likeable couple, a cute daughter and it’s all good romance.
I really loved this book so much I’ve been waiting to read about this couple for so long that I couldn’t wait to read this
After the glimpses of Macy and Gideon dancing around each other in other Crescent Cove books, I was excited to finally read theirs. It’s been obvious these two have had chemistry for a long time & I loved that they finally took a chance to act on it even if neither would admit it was more than just lust at first. Macy has always come across as a tough, no BS kind of woman and Gideon was just the man to peel back her layers. Gideon was great despite some slip ups but ultimately he was just the kind of loyal man Macy deserved. This book was different from the previous ones but no less engaging, and I loved it.
Macy and Gideon have been attracted to each other for a long time. I just loved reading how they overcome their personal concerns so they can finally have their HEA. Marcy is such an interesting person. She is snarky, grumpy and so independent. Gideon is such a hard work and so focus on his family responsibilities. Totally recommend this book.
If you have read any of the books by this awesome duo, you will know how they create an entire world for their series books. Macey and Gideon are no exception.
Gideon has been doing contract construction work for Macey for two years. The air cracks when they are near each other, but neither has ever made that mood. Macey doesn’t want kids, but not for the reason everyone thinks. Gideon has a precious daughter. Can they work through all of this and Gideon’s famous ex to make their own forever?
A great book that I had a hard time putting down.
Gideon is definitely swoon worthy!
Hold onto your seats, ladies. Gideon is the book boyfriend you’ve been waiting for! Tall, hardworking, a great dad and the abs! He’s got everything. Except a partner to share life. Luckily for him, he has an eight year old daughter whose about to fix that problem.
Macy Devereaux. Coffeemaker extraordinaire, Halloween mega enthusiast, cranky and snide loner. But there’s more to Macy than what you see from the outside. I have been waiting forever to see who finally brings Macy to her knees and exposes her soft, gooey center. You know she wasn’t born that cynical. But the reason that made her that way will definitely surprise you.
These two seriously burned up the pages with their sexual chemistry. But they were also amazingly tender and sweet at the same time. As a couple, they have it all, including a strong willed 8 year old and an old flame that just doesn’t want to die.
This was another soul satisfying book from Taryn Quinn!
I love this series and was really looking forward to Macy’s story! The coffee shop owner who is a hard ass and has had the hots for the local contractor, Gideon. They have had a crazy attraction for the past two years and finally they have hooked up!!! Taryn will have you laughing, and falling in love with these characters. Really steamy romance. And if you love Halloween as much as Macy does, big bonus!!
I am hook, line and sinker a big fan of the Crescent Cove series. For a couple of years, Macy and Gideon have had flirty banter between them and finally they get it right. Taryn and Quinn weave the beautiful story of Macy and Gideon and precocious young Dani journey to find everlasting love and a family together. I love this book and highly recommend it to others.
A Sweet Romance
As with any work of these two authors this book brings to the forefront the romance factor and two people who make the most of their connections. Gideon was a contractor working on Macy’s new place and they had been fighting what’s between them for a long time…well, now is the time to give in. I really like the connection that Gideon had with his little eight year old daughter, Dani as well. So if you are looking for a sweet romance this is the book for you.
Another great story set in the town of Crescent Cove. These books are all related but are stand alones with a HEA. This one is the owner of the towns coffee shop, Brewed Awakening and the carpenter who is helping build her dream restaurant The Haunt. Gideon and Macy have been dancing around each other for over a year. Then one day bam! the sparks that have been flying finally ignite the fire in a scorcher of a kiss. Only for things to blow up in their faces soon after. Macy has kid issues and little did she know but Gideon has a preteen daughter. She is not sure if she can get pass her issues. He is not sure she can either. Read to see what the problems are and how they work them out. I highly recommend this book!
