They are legends and myths made flesh and bone.Cyn, Vargr, Rutger, and the beast horde know what they are and where they came from, and the source of their experimental DNA is both mind-blowing and frightening.Yet one of the three is wracked by monstrous changes. As for the Ghoul Lords… their eyes are slowly opening, for the beasters are their first worthwhile foe for thousands of years. Will Cyn, … foe for thousands of years.
Will Cyn, her lovers, and the beast horde be enough to save humankind?
This apocalypse should be a whole lotta filthy, violent, and smutty fun.

This is the ending of a genre popping badass opus to saving the world, like only Silverwood could successfully pen. All is forgiven for the cliffhangers…we got a monster mashup that satisfies the body, mind and sexy soul. And there’s our girl, Cyn, right in the middle, facing her destiny and leaving her men speechless. The feminist in me just sighed in heavenly bliss as she remained the heart of this apocalyptic tale.
Cyn is full of glorious sarcasm as she navigates new information about herself and her crew. And boy, does it shock the group AND me! I found this particular twist crazy and satisfying, taking The story into another dimension as it fires down to the inevitable showdown.
““You’re right. We need to get things done. Maura found a strategy list Willow wrote out and I’m pretty sure it didn’t start with, mope about after I die until the Ghoul Lords come down and &%$ our @#% and use us for ashtrays and hood ornaments.” Rutger let his eyebrows rise way up his forehead and they stayed there awhile before he spoke. “I always knew you’d make a great speech one day.” She smiled wanly, shrugged.”
There’s Easter eggs galore, and they made this reading journey worth so much more than most. There are laugh out loud parts.
“”Evening, Cyn.” The soft yet slightly too smooth voice flowed from a hidden speaker. “I am Big Mo now, as they said. I have activated the plumbing and water purification systems, so you may clean up if you wish. I prefer less reproductive liquids on my floor.””
““Mo, all I need to know is if you can play mahjong. I’m starved for opponents since the apocalypse hit the fan.””
““Ugh. Just ugh. Your décor suits a rough post-apocalyptic strip club, V.””
There’s a tremendous amount of humanity shown in this last part of the epic. Cyn finds out her origin story is…meh. But promises to reign pain anyway. Silverwood highlights the mundane beginnings of these new superheroes to show how anything is possible, and they are all in. She has alien surprises that really shape the conclusion…and they are unlike anything you’ve ever read in an alien end of the world book. And they work. My favorite part of the book was a single sentence that Cyn utters, and for me it sums the book up perfectly. “What profit a human if they gain the world but lose their soul?” It’s a slightly bastardized bible verse and Silverwood slips it in while treading in true empathetic waters. With the religious background of Rutger and the brave love of Vargr, it’s a pleasure to see that this threesome is so tight that they rub off on one another. Here’s to a successful MFM post apocalypse.
In this final book about Cyn, with her demon nanites, her lovers Rutger and Vargr and a host of other important players in this fight for their lives, we get a very satisfying ending that answers a multitude of questions. Cyn feels she must go full Demon in order to win the fight but Vargr and Rutger want to
protect her and keep her theirs. Litte Mo is now Big Mo and a big part of their success. Willow is still missing but will play a part in the end. The Ghoul Lord who gave himself a name, Avidex finds himself separated from his cohorts and then when all is said and done, everyone has a new future to look forward to and new plans to be made. We do get a bit more of the dirty sex between the trio but just a bit, the main focus is to win at any cost, and Cyn is willing to sacrifice herself for victory. I am very happy to read the end of this post apocalyptic world and the good fight that shows good can rise above all the problems and complications that try to stop their forward progress. Kudos to Ms. Silverwood for wrapping up this story of survivors who fight for a future of peace and success without fear around every corner.
Cyn is the third and final instalment of this tale of Beasters, Ghoul Lords and nanites. And what a story it is, filled with exciting exploits, bemusing bots and deadly demons. It kicks off with further shocking discoveries, including the fate of both Willow and her lover Mads. Next, it hurtles along with the pace and determination of a runaway express train, ploughing through what most would consider ‘nice’ and ‘polite’ and leaving devastation in it’s wake. Let’s face it though, Cyn, Rutger and Vargr are never going to be nice and polite, nor we wouldn’t want them to be.
Whilst no-one in their right mind would EVER call the author’s work comedy, she does imbue her books with humour and tongue-in-cheek pop culture references. And they are such clever little touches, often thought provoking and frequently providing both extra layers and depth. There is so much foreshadowing too, when I re-read her books I find myself constantly wondering how I’d missed such obvious clues, easter eggs and signposts. Yet there is NEVER anything typical, predictable or cliched about her work. In fact Cari Silverwood has a fairly unique literary ‘voice’, one that makes so many other authors seem pale by comparison.
On to Cyn and her two Beaster warriors …..hmmmmm, so dark, dirty and sexy as all heck. This trio are just so perfect, each adding their own little spin to the dynamic. Fitting together perfectly and loving each other uniquely. There are more incredibly hot, naughty and definitely perverted sexy times too – I’ll never look at a beer bottle the same way again.
The book is also full of great and inspiring speeches, involving ashtrays, hood ornaments and bots keeping your soul safe (I didn’t cry at that one, you did). It was packed with great thoughts on osmosis, build-a-bear, dwarves and their beards and feeling grumpy. Then there were all the little finishing touches like fair-haired bobble heads in blue suits, Dali paintings and tentacles.
Cyn faces some incredibly tough choices in this book, choices that might change her beyond all recognition, changes that might damn her soul forever. Will she rise to the challenge, can Rutger and Vargr keep her safe and when she encounters someone she once cared for will she make the right decisions?
There is so much packed into this book it felt as though I’d read a whole series by the end of it. You can’t afford to let your focus drift for even a second, every word, action and observation has meaning. You do need to have read Vargr and Rutger , in that order, first. This is not a stand alone read and will not make sense if you try and read it as such.
Wow talk about a series and saving the best for last in the final book. I don’t know which one I loved most each book had it’s own persona, but I’m leaning towards Cyn because she is such a bada** and when that demon side comes out to play you best look out, but she’s afraid she’ll lose herself when she goes full demon with the final battle approaching, but her bonded mates Vargr and Rutger aren’t about to let that happen. I have no idea how Cari schemes her Sci fi stories, but I can say this much their always fun to read and your definitely turning pages.
I was so looking forward to this final instalment in this addictive series and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
This starts where we left off with that previous finale and the shocking revelations regarding Cyn and the beasters true origins and almost instantly upon picking this up I was right back in the zone feeling like I had never been away.
I loved how here we have got to an almost stage of comfortable familiarity and I just adored the overall dynamic that Cyn, Rutger and Vargr have managed to arrive at.
I am also loving Vargr’s new nickname it suits.
This one definitely amps up the pressure in regards to confronting the Ghoul Lords and taking back control.
I loved where this went and also the eventual resolution arrived at.
I liked that it wasn’t easy and we were made to work for our HEA.
I also felt that all three in this relationship are now on an equal playing field and where as previously I had too and throwed in regards to my favourite beaster male here I was equally invested in both.
Most importantly this trio now works and functions as one.
This trilogy has managed to keep my attention wholeheartedly and I have been riveted throughout.
This was a fantastic finale to the whole endeavour and I enjoyed it all immensely.
A very unique read and a series that I highly recommend.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Cyn (Beast Horde #3).

First of all, I just have to say that Cari killed it with this series. I have read many books from this author and with every release I am shocked that she takes me to yet another world and to the creatures that inhabit that world. Cyn is the third book in the amazing series. Finally getting all the answers to all the questions you have from the first 2 books in the series. This story is dark and filled with bots and demons. This book is not as dark as some of her others but there is a dark side here. The author takes you on the final yet continuing adventure that the Cyn and Vargr and Rutger are dealing with Ghoul Lords. This is a must read. Will Cyn and her grew save the humans that remain? Will the outcome be the outcome that you want? This author is an amazing writer and puts her heart and soul into every book she writes. She has away of making sure all questions are answered and no lose ends to deal with. Read this series. It is a MUST READ!!! Thank you Cari for another amazing series and the wonderful worlds that you create. Can not wait for the next one.
This is the final book in this series and it is not to be missed! I love Cari Silverwood’s writing, especially the books with a strong female heroine. Cyn, is the latest one and she’s all kind of kickass and more. One of the things I liked in particular about this character is that she herself have to discover what she is capable of. Yet she is still vulnerable in her own feminine way. The romance between her and her two beaster, Vargr and Rutger, are always off the charts. If you want romance, sci-fi and fantasy, this series is a must!
Cyn is the last book of the Beast Horde trilogy! Cyn finally learns who she is and what she can do! She has become a very strong heroine who may possibly save the world! This is not a standalone book, you need to read the first two novels Vargr and Rutger to understand the ending of Cyn. If you have read the first two books, then you know that this a post-apocalyptic novel, with the notion that earth has been invaded by Ghoul Lords which are aliens from outerspace. They have lost friends along the way and met others for the beasters have different factions. Cyn has had to learn to deal with many types of personalities. Which sometimes gets her in trouble but her mates protect her. Cyn has decided she will abstain from sex to become even stronger than she is now. For she has very strong nanites that help her withstand the Lure of the Ghoul Lords. By abstaining from her mates than she wouldn’t receive their nanites. She of course finds it very difficult to stay away from her two mates. So of course there is very steamy sex with some darkness added. Her mates won’t stay away from her which she really doesn’t mind. 😉 Cyn believes that she alone has to take on the Ghoul Lords. Vargr and Rutger disagree, for they are alpha men who believe they need to protect their little mate. This book was so compelling. The reader will definitely be intrigued by this series. Cari also has a way of bringing the reader to love the animals and robots. I have fallen in love and wanted everyone. If you like a different type of romance, than you will love this book.
I need more!
What am epic finale! I’m truly infatuated with Cyn, Viagr, and Rutger. I am blown away by the action in this story, combined with the humor, and steamy/raunchy/insane hotness with all manner of unique physical attributes.
Strap in tight, when you drove into this series you’re in for a ride straight through to this epic beastly conclusion.
I can’t wait do read more from this author.
If you haven’t read the Beast Horde series in its entirety you should. The oh so talented Cari gives us Cyn book 3 and the brassy female puts a whole new meaning to evolving. Cyn’s thinking for the greater good but evolving but at what cost? Once done can it be undone?
The odd little trio with her and her mates Vargr and Rutger continue to bond and connect but will it be enough, their combined ‘enhancements’ the beast they are bringing down the Ghoul Lords.
Some hot freak sessions, some danger, and WTF situations spotlight another amazing story from Ms. Silverwood. Brings the series to an end? *gasps and fans face* Brava Cari, BravaCari Silverwood
CYN gives us the ultimate conclusion with her book! This series is exactly why I love this genre! Tough, alpha monster males who can pull off the sexy beast character like nobody else can! This has been a thrilling adventure, with three characters who somehow find love as they work together to face a looming apocalypse, and it’s been fantastic from beginning to end! It’s explosive, it’s exciting, and it’s off the charts hot!
To me, the over-arching theme in Cyn, Book 3 of the Beast Horde Trilogy, is one of change; change in the sense of personal growth and development. The author has prodded growth and development to bloom in characters on both sides: Beaster and Ghoul Lord, and these changes bring this incredible story full circle to its astonishing conclusion.
Cyn is still the joyful warrior, impulsive and impudent (and–yay!, still VERY s*x-focused). And maybe she suspects her demon DNA makes her this way. But it is also clear she is full-on for a mission now. Likewise, her lovers, Vargr and Rutger. They are dedicated to protecting her and fulfilling their plan to wipe-out the Ghoul Lords. But events have happened at the book’s opening that have placed our protagonists in further jeopardy following the last GL attack. Beaster numbers have been reduced through the loss of several of their comrades and their Fae leader, Willow. Willow has been dragged off to the “Top” by the enemy to face what Cyn knows is a fate worse than death.
Regardless of the evil closing in around them, Cyn and company rally to carry on. Time to get serious. Cyn grimly considers her new demon skill, that of producing fire through her fingers. What will she give up if she uses this power? Is she a danger to those around her? Mentally, she gets an inkling about this after she offers herself as new leader of their group, but is “sidelined” when another is chosen in her place. Her internal anger mounts dangerously, fueling her fire. Indeed, demons can “do bad, bad things” if they choose to.
But the author also paints other highlights into the story, allowing some characters’ consciences to rise and prickle them. New ideas bloom. And some take root in odd places. Not on a stone tablet brought down from the mountain. No scroll delivered by a raven. But instead, using careful brushstrokes, the author develops her characters’ integrity or emphasizes their lack thereof. Some fall into the abyss. Some finally realize that no sentient being has the right to act omnipotently over another.
I enjoyed this story and these characters so much that, now, I am quite sad I’m finished with the trilogy. I wonder if the author left a little daylight peeking out from under the last door? Seems like there could be room for a sequel. In the meantime, I know I’ll revisit Cyn and the rest of the Beasters again, probably more than once. Five stars!
I love love love the character of Cyn and couldn’t wait for this series to come out after I read Book 1. Cari is masterful at blending excellent unique worlds and characters with steamy, dark fun. These books are such great stories, and she doesn’t feel the need to shoe horn in superfluous erotica just to placate readers who only want steam and no substance. I think that’s why I love her books. Each one is so well balanced and feels like such a work of art. That said, finally seeing the conclusion of Cyn’s story, alongside her beast horde lovers, Vargr and Rutger, was amazing, and I can’t wait to see if she’ll develop more stories in this world, or tease us with some new, imaginative piece of work.
Cyn is the 3rd book & final book in the Beast Horde Series and I think that this was the best book in the series. Maybe because we now know what happens to everyone.
Cyn and her lovers, Vargr and Rutger, are trying to save humankind! I think one of my favorite characters is little mo! Wow that is one sexy ending to the series!
Another series of Cari Silverwood that I enjoyed. Just know that these books are dark. Maybe not as dark as some of her books though. 4.5 stars
This is the third and final book in this series and for best enjoyment I do recommend you read them in order. If you love dark sci-fi reads this series won’t disappoint. Cyn and her mates journey continues along with the small army that have joined them. Will they be able to save humankind? The world building is amazing and the characters have lots of depth which makes them fun and likeable. I was hooked from beginning to end on this action packed and steamy read. I loved it!
4.6 stars
This book brought the trilogy to the ultimate culmination that was necessary in order for this series to get the conclusion it so rightly deserved. I have said many times that this author is one of the best at world-building and boy did she ever show it in this series.
This book picks up where the last one left off and things are intense. Is Cyn bad or good? As the story progresses it will determine the answer to that. At times through this trilogy, I have struggled to connect with either part of the story or the characters. However, this time that was not the case. I liked them all. I was engaged in what was happening, not only for the characters but the overall outcome. Surprisingly, Willow and Avidex intrigued me the most.
The steam in this book was still hotter than hot but in this book I was more focused on getting the answers to what was happening or what would happen. That is what great story writing is all about and is why I adore this author so much. She lets my imagination soar, sweet holy titfire does she ever, and allows me to get lost in a world that is so foreign and yet it feels like home.
This whole series is a roller-coaster ride of intense action, steamy sexiness, and witty humor that made me giggle. That snark is one of the things I love about Cari Silverwood’s books. I also love how much effort she puts into her world-building. Her stories always surprise me in some way and leave in even more in awe of her talent.
This is the final leg of the journey for Cyn, Vargr, Rutger, and their small army. The story begins right where the last one ended and I was immediately brought back to the heartache of loss the group had suffered. It doesn’t linger on that loss long, however, and you are quickly thrust back into the action. I love the way the characters continue to grow and come into themselves. One of my favorite characters in this one is Willow. She is amazing and her intelligence and wit were some of my favorite moments. There wasn’t as much sexy time in this one, but I think that worked perfectly. It made the focus more on the story line and the story line is strong. It could stand on it’s own as a dystopian sci-fi without all the heat. I’m not suggesting that it would be better (it wouldn’t be) just that it could.
This book wrapped up all the lingering questions and left me with a feeling of contentment with the entire thing. Everything happened in a way that made sense and didn’t leave me wishing for a different kind of outcome. This is one of those series that I’m going to go back and read over and over again.
The last book in the trilogy where everything comes together.
The book starts right where the previous book left off and all seems lost.
There is a lot of growth happening for Cyn and she is more mature all the while struggling with herself and her demonside. This also changes her relationship with the people around her.
This will be the final battle and the last change for humankind.
This is actually my favorite book of the series. I think because things slow down before the end and certain questions are answered.
CYN IS A BADASS WOMAN/DEMON!!
OMG! This was an absolutely phenomenal conclusion to an amazing series. It’s dark and gritty and will take you down a path you might not want to venture down! It kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of how this story was going to end. There were many moments throughout (the beer bottle scene for one) that had me squirming in my seat (I may have had to change my panties a few times)!!! I mean DAMN the sex is HOT!!!
Cyn, Vargr, and Rutger continue on their path of fighting and abolishing the evil Ghoul Lords to try to save humanity and the Beasters in what is left of the world! As the Beasters grow and mutate, Cyn also grows and mutates into the demon that she is meant to be! Cyn is rough, snarky, witty and utterly sexy. She gives the Ghoul Lords the middle finger and doesn’t hesitate to kick some slimy, tentacle ass.
The chemistry between Vargr, Rutger and Cyn is still very intense and highly combustible. I enjoy the way they seem to know just how rough, dirty and hard each one of them needs to be in every steamy situation. Vargr and Rutger have some very interesting ways to entertain themselves with Cyn in the middle. They have become a unique family of three that will do anything to save each other and their whole ragtag group of humans and Beasters.
This book is action packed, intense, shocking, gripping and highly erotic. You better buckle up for one hell of a ride!
Absolutely fascinating and phenomenal series. I can’t wait to see where Cari takes us next!
If you are here I am going to assume you have spent time with the boys already because this is the third book in the trilogy and the climax.
If you didn’t start at the beginning but you enjoy a good monster/alien story line with spectacular characters, creative cultural references not to mention jam-packed with all sorts of dirty bits then you need to go back
Go on before I send Big Mo after ya
“What profit a human if they gain the world but lose their soul?”
Cyn has a decision laid before her that could turn the tide of the war but it could also cost her soul.
To do or not to do?
Cyn has been fearful of the unknown since the first time her ‘blackout’ injured those she called friend. Now she knows that her DNA may leave her an even greater threat and that realization hits hard for her. She finally feels a part of something.
From the beginning, our harden warrior has hidden her softer side, except when it came to her mates. Rutger and Vargr were able to see past the facade see the little girl who needed guidance and craved touch.
A couple of times on this journey they did make some poor choices A bit petty if you ask me it was not like she tried to kill you intentionally you were in the way!
These three fit together so seamlessly! Each brought something to their partnership that made it a true triad.
In this final episode, our band of mixed genetics and questionable personalities band together to defeat the GL.
Strap on, in, whichever you prefer and hold on tight because things are about to get a bit messy!
The chances for success are marginal at best
Allies are not as forthcoming as once believed (but you know who will fix that problem)
The countdown has begun and time is running out
Bonds are about to be tested and all hands, tentacles wings, and robotic arms will be required if we are to succeed.
But never fear because Cyn is here!
(okay maybe fear a little because she can be quite scary)
What a way to wrap up this trilogy!
Though I am hoping our new fearless leader gets a story and maybe a gargoyle or monster as well –
And let us not forget a brain and the alien that consumes her …
So many new possibilities lie ahead untainted just waiting to be exploited (explored).
