Penelope “Pia” and Brock are fantastic characters and their opposites-attract story kept me turning pages way past my bedtime! Snag this book if you like deft humor, steamy romance, and a happily ever after!
One bratty teen many years ago and now in a political position later, Penelope now has been assigned with Brock to be escorted as her husband at an interstellar meeting. They are both not happy with this assignment however they have no choice in the matter and no choice in the undeniable attraction they have. These characters are interesting and endearing.

I absolutely love this hot, steamy, captivating book with exceptional characters in an erotic world that is so realistic it felt like I was on the journey with them. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author that knows how to captivate the attention of their readers
Pia & Brock… I loved that these two have an intense history that makes for one incredible story. These two go from conflict to so much more I really enjoyed this one!
The first book in the Men Of Mettle series a well written story I was not putting down until I finished reading it. Ambassador Penelope Isabella Aaron laid false charges against Brock Mann when she was a teenager and ruined his protection officer career, back then. She is now grown-up and has been kidnapped, and Brock gets handed her case. I want to read more in this series.
If you are looking for a great romance, take this book, you will not regret this. Sometimes the stories around a second chance for love are a bit cringy, but not here. The heroine knew she was wrong, the reason she did wrong is very believable and the story has a great natural flow. There is romance, duh, and action in this story. You will be able to relate with the couple and cheer them on. Absolutely loved reading this book. If you do not yet know Cara Bristol this is a great introduction to her stories, you can’t go wrong.

She is an Ambassador now and this is a trip to a distant planet to make an alliance. But there are some who don’t want this and Brock and Penelope soon find themselves in danger. Through all of this they find themselves getting closer and closer. But Brock has a secret that threatens to keep them apart.

Exciting story, a great read! I loved this story! The characters were believable and their backstory is sweet. Their personalities mesh perfectly. There are elements of political unrest, terrorism, and cyborg hating which isn’t quite specieism but close. The setting for most of the action was both scary and imaginative. I was hooked, start to finish!

Entertaining and amusing.
There are places in the story that are way to wordy. The author tends to get carried away with unnecessary minute details in some of her descriptions. There is also some repetition. Not much on either of these negatives, but they are there.
Fast paced and nicely written. There is some quick naughty humor that made me grin. Or maybe I smirked. Okay, I did both.
There is some nicely written suspense and action. Brock can kick butt, think fast and move just as fast as he thinks. His character is well written and I really liked him.
Pia’s character is also well written but a little harder to like. She does & says some really stupid and insensitive things. She is always sorry once she rethinks her actions, but the damage is done. I couldn’t decide if it was a character flaw or immaturity on her part. However, she becomes quite good at apologizing…..
The adult romance is steamy and sweet. This is mostly due to Brock, but Pia also had her ‘bold’ naughty moments.
‘All in all’ is was a very delightful story & I will definitely be reading more of this author & this series.

My only criticism was it ended too soon! Wanted more!
Sexy and clever enemies-to-lovers story told with sci-fi twist. Brock was Penelope’s security guard when she was the daughter of the president. Now she’s doing her own diplomatic work and Brock has been assigned to keep her safe. She remembers him as the by-the-books agent whose attention she desperately craved but never received. He remembers her as the defiant teen who ruined his career.
Lots of action and explosions, plenty of zippy banter, and all the sexual tension a reader could want makes this a fun and steamy read. Never thought I’d be into sci-fi, but I’ve definitely got a crush on a certain cyborg.
I discovered this series when I found Mated to the Cyborg, book two, and loved it so I kept reading and anticipating each new release. But, guess what? I forgot to go back and read book one. The author made it free and I still managed to wait forever. I’m reading it now though. Yay for getting Brock and Penelope’s story finally.
Stranded with the Cyborg begins with Brock Mann, a covert ops cyborg, getting assigned to the dreaded brat that he’d been forced to do protection detail aka babysit through her snits and teenage rebellion back in the day. Now, Pia as he called her is a grown woman and an ambassador on her first important mission. And, she might be hot to trot, but she’s still impulsive, naive, and a touch bratty.
Penelope doesn’t want or feel she needs a bodyguard against a terrorist threat so she attempts to just do her thing. Then, ugh, its the man she totally crushed on and was a total jerk teenager to, and he sees her latest action to ditch her bodyguard as proof that she hasn’t matured at all.
This one started off iffy for me because I rather thought Brock had the right of it about Penelope. She is more mature in some ways, but her behavior and naivety for the first part of the book were dangerous. She knows better… she’s on a mission… those terrorists aren’t as bad as everyone says… and it can never happen to me… And how dare the highly skilled, trained, and experienced security expert try to do his job.
But, thankfully, she got a clue about the time she was in the middle of a terrorist attack and things progressed better. Part of the conflict was the sizzle of attraction between them and Brock trying to keep his cyborg side a secret. I loved it when they are stranded and working together on the alien planet. I really feel that one of the author’s strengths is her creative backdrops and settings along with character development. Oh, and lets not forget some melty hot love scenes.
So, hoorah, I made it back to the beginning and loved what I got of Brock and Penelope’s story. Sci-Fi Romance fans need to do themselves a solid and get going on this series.
This is good the second time as the first when it first came out.what do you do when you are reunited with your teenage crush got got in trouble and removed from your detail? Being a brat not Ambassador to the Terran nation it is hard to accept She supposed needs protecting. Of course to Brock Mann, her crush. Now Pia’s pretend husband. Argh! I found it very inexplicably “ stupid “ that she doesn’t believe that her action to make a historic bridge In nation doesn’t mean she is a target. Can Brock keep he4 safe from the mishaps she keeps have and hide he is a cyborg? Adventure awaits..

I wasn’t sure what I might find in this story given the premise. But it sounded intriguing to see how the author might play out the story. I couldn’t imagine that a cyborg would feel emotions but I was pleasantly surprised by the author’s imaginative take and presentation. An interesting story.

Fake husband for the Ambassador!
by sewsummore
As a young teenager, Penelope was a “pain in the ass” for her protective detail and especially for Brock, a young officer in the Central Protection Division. Penelope had been the daughter of the President of the Terra United at the time, and Brock was her security detail. Now, as an Ambassador, she had been instrumental in brokering a meeting with the Xenian Emperor, and the former President had explicitly asked for Brock to be her bodyguard. A lot had happened to him during the intervening years. He had been the only survivor of a mission gone wrong, but his life had survived, and with the addition of cyborg implants was a man many feared to cross. Posing as Penelope’s husband was not a position he wanted, but he had been over-ruled. Penelope also had changed in the intervening years since Brock had last seen her. She had grown into a beautiful, dedicated woman, and although she was unhappy with the choice of a bodyguard, she did not hesitate to apologize for the trouble she had caused him. It was due to his specialized abilities that the two of them had survived two assassination attempts and crash landing on an inhospitable planet. During this time, they had many dangers to overcome that had bought them closer together. But a rash outburst from Penelope had destroyed their relationship once again. I enjoyed reading this book and Broke and Penelope’s relationship with each other. After their rescue did, they finally accept their love and attraction for each other? You will have to read the book for yourself for the answer.

Brock was on leave when he’s called back into action, but this is not the action he’s looking for. Pia is off for her first ambassador’s assignment, and she is horrified that Brock is her muscle (they have A History). Needless to say, things do not go as planned… This is a good start to a new series, and I’m looking forward to the rest of this series!
Well worth reading!
Super start to a new series

This is a fantastic story by Cara Bristol. I didn’t want to put it down. I was caught in the action from the first page. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I couldn’t get enough of Penelope (PIA) and Brock.
