Cutter Thompson
Hurricane Tatum, a category five storm hell-bent on making landfall along the Alabama coast, is my opportunity, to show my friends and family the kind of man I’ve become.
The kid who lost his scholarship and the love is life is ready for a change. A change I’m equal parts scared will and won’t come.
An EMT wasn’t my first choice of careers, but it’s become my calling. When the winds die down, the skies clear, and the rain stops, we’re left with devastation the likes of which I’ve never seen.
What I come to realize is ugly destruction can be beautiful, if we can only figure out what perspective to see it.
Rowan Baker
The LSERT is a godsend, especially as us local first responders emerge from our shelters to see our town and homes destroyed. It’s going to take time to rebuild.
Rebuilding is what I’m used to. After I watched my four-year-old daughter die in my arms I’ve done nothing but try to find a reason to live.
But I’ve got baggage. Memories, an ex-husband, and a fear I won’t be able to save everyone.
When I meet Cutter Thompson, he reminds me rebuilding can mean letting go of fear and allowing myself to live the life I’ve wanted all along.

This is a fantastic read! We know going in that Cutter has been through some difficult stuff, but no specifics. We finally get to the bottom of that while Cutter falls for Rowan on a relief trip with some other LSERT members. Rowan has her own heavy stuff going on, and it broke my heart. I loved their instant attraction and the fast pace of the story. The “family” connection that exists amongst the characters in this series and the original MTF series is always heartwarming to read. They’re so relatable and human, each book is like catching up with the fam.
I was so ecstatic when I saw Ms. Briscoe was finally giving us Cutter’s story and let me say she didn’t disappoint me. The book is well written with a romantic storyline that was just perfect for the young man who lost his dream and is trying to overcome his screwed up past.
Cutter has worked hard to become an EMT with the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team and to prove his worth. He’s tasked with his first natural disaster when he’s sent to Paradise Lost Alabama to help with the disaster relief for an impending Hurricane. It’s here he meets a fellow EMT for Paradise Lost – Rowan. She too has had to overcome a traumatic past that left me heartbroken but hopeful. The storyline Ms. Briscoe gave these two dealing with mother nature, tragedy, heartbreak and healing made for a remarkable read and it’s told it such a way it touched all my emotions, especially my heart.
2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars for a great read in an awesome series. Highly Recommend them all.
I swear I am moving to Laural Springs! Cutter is such an amazing character and I adore Rowan! I was so excited for this story and I was not disappointed! The LSERT series is one of my favorite series of all time! I cannot wait for more! FIVE STARS!!
Everyone may be on the lookout for Hurricane Tatum but Cutter and Rowen are a force all of their own. The chemistry while fighting to protect each other and themselves from the past. This book is so full of feelings and emotions. Once they were finally ready to reveal their dark secrets, they were able to find their HEA!! Another great addition to the LSERT series. Highly recommend!
This is the 4th book in this awesome series and is Cutter and Rowan’s story. Cutter is an EMT in a nearby town who responds to help a town after a hurricane, and where Rowan is and EMT. Cutter and Ro are both haunted by their pasts, but can they heal each other and move forward with a relationship. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, and has heartbreak, guilt, and is a humorous and addictive page turner. I was hooked throughout, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.
I adored Cutter. He is a complex man with a beautiful soul. He goes to another town to help in the aftermath of a hurricane where he meets fellow EMT Rowan. Rowan has seen her own share of heartache in her life having lost her child. She is also trying to find her place in the world. When they meet, could it be their chance to find their places in each other’s lives?
This story was a wonderful one for them. The story flowed well and I found myself rooting for their happy ending. The chemistry between them was off the charts. We also had a moment between Cutter and his parents that touched my heart. It was great to meet new characters and catch up with our favorites from Laurel Springs.
.
I highly recommend this story as well as the others in the series.
In Cutter we get Cutter and Rowan’s beautifully tragic story. Cutter has had a tough time trying to figure out his life since he lost his ride to Alabama. Coming from the family he comes from doesn’t make figuring things out any easier. He’s not sure if he fits in Laurel Springs. He decides to try his hand at being an EMT. The LSERT gets asked to help after a major disaster strikes. Cutter goes and there he meets Rowan a fellow EMT who has her own tragic past. While working together they strike up a friendship and start spending time together. They both come to realize that they’re trapped by their pasts. Can they help each other heal and overcome their past tragedies? You really need to read this book and go on this journey with them as it’s so well written and beautiful in it’s emotions. Finally finding out what happened to Cutter at Alabama will break your heart. I feel like this is Me. Briscoe’s BEST book to date!! The story is just SO beautifully told and relatable to everyone. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book. I can’t wait to read the next book that the AMAZING Ms Briscoe writes!!!
Cutter (Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team Book 4) by Laramie Briscoe was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Cutter and his partner are part of the LSERT team that decided to go help Rowan’s town following the hurricane. Rowan is an EMT and her brothers are police officers. Cutter is a godsend and ends up working well with Rowan and her brothers. As they spend more time together sparks start to fly.
Both Cutter and Rowan have pasts that have dictated how they live now. They both are not looking for relationships but, could the spark between them be just what they need? When Rowan finally lets her hair down things go in a great direction for her and Cutter.
Overall I really loved this book. My emotions were all over the place. And the POS ex husband got what he deserved in the end, thank you Cutter. And Cutter gave me a moment of “don’t you dare” but luckily he smartened up. I really liked all the secondary characters, both their families were great. If you are looking for a great emotional read then this is the book for you. 1-click and get started today.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Cutter is a story about second chances in the midst of a disaster. Cutter is trying to find his place in the world after having to leave football behind. When he gets a chance to help with a Hurricane in another area he takes a chance to find something worth doing. There he finds Rowan who has been only living her life but not to its full potential. She is still grieving the lost of someone close to her that when she meets Cutter they experience something magnetic. While working the disaster area they find friendship with one another and something more in one another. They explore this new adventure that is filled with laughter, family and love. They help one another heal and find a happiness they have been searching years for. I love this story and I was so happy to get to read about Cutter. We didn’t quite get who he was as a person in the previous books. Rowan is my dream woman character because she was all about getting help when she needed. She was not all about the drama and she was loving. Cutter is funny, sweet, kind and reminded me so much of his father Havoc. The chemistry they have is intense and something they did not see coming. I love the characters and the story. I want to see more from the LSERT family.
*Read an ARC and this is my honest review*
Hits you in the heart with all the feels! Debra @janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
Sometimes when you read a series you’re not always sure where a book will take you or can it take you to a new place. Well Cutter takes you to a place of true past tragedy that makes you want to hold people close to you like never before.
Grief is an individual thing that even if a person has had something similar happen doesn’t mean you will process it the same. Sometimes even family can’t truly understand or help, they have to let you go through it at your own pace as they also have to go through their own.
Both of our lead characters have gone through some stuff and when they meet it is still a part of them in how they handle their interactions with each other. It has also to certain degree affected their interactions with family and friends.
I love the realness of the story and I love how our characters deal, grow and love!
5 stars doesn’t seem like enough.
Cutter is book four in the LSERT book and each book can be read as a standalone, but you will truly love each book and set of characters if you read them all. Cutter didn’t plan for his life to go as expected. Football was his life, but life had other plans for him and that was being an EMT. Now it’s his time to show everyone that he isn’t always a goof. He’s headed to Paradise Lost to help rescue those affected by Hurricane Tatum. Funny thing about this little town called, Paradise Lost is Rowan is Lost trying to find herself again after the death of her daughter and divorce. She puts on a good facade though and braves helping her town. When these two meet you see the connection, but they know they need to focus on saving the town and living in two separate towns a few hours away may not be worth trying to explore their feelings.
Love how this story plays out and how they each help heal each other in their own ways. Sometimes bad things must happen to good people for them to see that life had other things planned for them. You will love Cutter and Rowan and you will enjoy seeing them doing what they do best in the LSERT! I cannot wait for more LSERT especially now that we see the characters growing.
Finally we get the story on Cutter. The youngest son of Holden “Havoc” Thompson. Cutter is part of the LSERT Team. When called away to respond to a hurricane in Paradise Cove, Cutter gets more than he had planned on. Rowan still healing from a past tragedy which I don’t think anyone can full heal from stumbles into Cutter. These are two who just seem to work together from the get go. It was a beautiful love story and Cutter remind me so much of his dad Havoc.
So much mystery was surrounding Cutter as to why he was kicked out of college and in previous story not even a glimpse was given as to what may have happened. Let me tell you this blew me out of the water when the story finally comes out. It took an emergency in a different city to bring everything to a head and for two beautiful souls to heal and move on. Well worth the read. 5 + star read
Wow, what a brilliant book. It has some heartbreaking moments. I couldn’t put this down once I started. We finally find out what happened to Cutter to lose his scholarship.
I loved Cutter and Rowan together, they may of met in dire circumstances. But they were caring and helped each other through out.
This was another amazing book, I love all the books Laramie Briscoe releases.
Cutter and Ro stole my heart! Falling in love during the aftermath of a natural disaster was not expected but both knew they couldn’t ignore their feelings. The descriptions of the destruction and injuries choked me up almost as much as Ro’s loss and Cutter’s past relationship.
I loved that Laramie Briscoe didn’t add any “extra” drama that would cause even more stress and tears for Cutter and Ro. Their pasts and the situation they were currently in was enough.
Even though I’m a Georgia fan (Go Dawgs!), I did enjoy the Alabama/Auburn rivalry. The trash talking between the ladies was hilarious!
Cutter and Rowan
As an EMT he’s fulfilling his need to overcome his bad rep from college, but more to be there for those who need him. He and some of the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team (LSEMRT) are helping a town devastated by a hurricane. Little did he expect to find his future. Local fellow EMT, Rowan, is more than a fellow first responder. She’s captured his attention.
The two spend time on and off duty together finding feelings neither expected to have again. Since the loss of her young daughter, life has meant little. Cutter has brought the sun back to her life. Is there any way to move on? Of course, they’d have to move way on with the different locations they live.
The stress of the job. The long hours. The attraction. Add steam and a nasty ex to make for a great story with unforgettable characters. As with all of the stories from this author you will love it and anxiously wait for more.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. WOW!!! PRetty sure I say that about them all but its just the truth. Talk about a full emotional journey experienced with Cutter & Rowan. I laughed, cried, and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Cutter is of course the son of Holden, and brother to Ransom and a member of LSERT. When part of the LSERT is called to Paradise Lost for a 4 almost Category 5 hurricane, Cutter is teamed with Rowan an EMT in Paradise Lost. Cutter and Rowan are drawn to each other from the start despite the stressful situations of searching and providing care in the hurricane aftermath. As they spend more time together and their chemistry heats up, both must moved past the events of their pasts that have left them scarred. And of course a LSERT book would not be complete without getting to check in our other Laurel Springs family members new and old.
WOW!!! Cutter and Rowan took me on an emotional rollercoaster. This book was everything I expected it would be and more. I thought Ransom was just like his father but Cutter is 100% Holden. Rowan is such a strong woman to overcome everything she did. I was so happy these two found each other. They definitely needed someone they can lean on when times get rough.
This book had me cryin alot, it was so perfectly written. Laramie you have done it again. Cutter will be a book I read more then once.
Let me just say that Laramie Briscoe is the gift that keeps on giving. Cutter is the 4th book in the LSERT series and he is the son to Holden (MTF series #3 “Havoc”). To say that I enjoyed this book is an understatement, I totally adore this book. Ms Briscoe is a whizz at small-town romances, everytime I read one of her books I wished I’m living in it and I never want to leave.
Cutter and Rowan were a beautiful match. When it comes to Rowan my heart broke so hard for her and everything she had dealt with. She is such a strong woman and you can’t help but respect her. Not only for her dedication to her job, but also for how strong she was in the face of all that she has dealt with.
Cutter was great. He was a sweetheart and I couldn’t help but love him. He had Been dealt his own bad hand but was able to come to terms with it after meeting the heroine. He trusted her so blindly and I loved that. Add in his amazing family who I love, who wanted to be there for him but he wouldn’t let them. It was for-sure intriguing.
The plot was great. I loved seeing them work side by side to help others but also seeing them spend time together and get to know each other. It was fun to see that dance they did (not really dancing but the flirting game). Parts of this book broke my heart but for the most part it was a laid back easy read that had me hooked. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Gorgeous book cover! Cutter and Ro meet as first responders during Hurricane Tatum. Hurricanes in many cases follow the pattern of destruction, recovery and finally rebuilding. Ironically, Cutter and Rowan’s current lives parallel the same steps as the hurricane that brings them together. As their personnel lives intertwine, they help each other move from recovering to rebuilding. But both must fully heal and forgive themselves before they can have a relationship. The process is not easy for either. It is a moving journey, emotional, heartbreaking yet beautiful. There were some touching conversations between Holden and Cutter. Cutter is the 4th book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series. Highly recommend. I am hoping to see more of Sullivan in the future.
