Book one in the new Fast & Fury Series and Custom Built is a great start to the new series from Chantel Fernando. This is Bronte Pierce and Crow’s story and boy do they have a tale to tell.
Bronte has just got a new job at a local motorcycle shop and this is where she meets Crow the owner of Fast & Fury, even knowing nothing about motorcycles Bronte is hoping this is the new start she has been searching for what she didn’t expect was to fall for her biker boss…..
Crow is how I imagine a typical biker to be, strong, tough and a man who does what is needed to get what he wants but Bronte seems to bring out the softer side to him and that made him loveable. This is one of those reads that keeps you on edge as the suspense and twists and turns unfold, the chemistry is sizzling and the characters adorable and I’m excited for where Ms Fernando will take us next in this gripping series.
I can’t believe this is the first story by this author that I have read, I have been meaning to explore her books for ages. I now want to go back and read the three Knights of Fury MC books as soon as possible because I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed this fast-paced story and the interesting storyline hooked me from the beginning right until the end.
This story is centered around Bronte who gets a job at Fast & Fury, a custom-built motorbike business the Knights of Fury MC owns and runs. Crow, one if the patched members of the MC, manages the business and this is basically his and Bronte’s story. Together with other great characters at the business we are treated to some fun times, not always exactly fun haha but great for readers!
I liked Crow as a character even when he was a bit standoffish toward Bronte in the beginning. He proved his worth over and over throughout the story though and let’s just say you could certainly have some sweet dreams with him as your focus. Bronte is another likable character, really likable because she is basically very honest and that includes with herself.
My only issue with this story was there were some small inconsistencies, like when Bronte says she hadn’t seen her father since the barbecue at his place yet he dropped into her new workplace to see her. There were a few and they did niggle and annoy me unfortunately while I was reading.
The suspense element is good, as it unravels more things occur, some complete twists that take you by total surprise. I enjoyed how it isn’t a situation where once things are sorted that’s it done and dusted, sneaky things happen too.
All in all an entertaining and enjoyable read.

Gonna start this off with the fact that this will be so much better of a read, if you read the Knights of Fury MC books beforehand. Crow is a part of the MC and those characters are all over this story as well. Bronte is not having a good time with life at the moment, having some health issues, then she loses her job, and right before the holidays. Of course getting a job now is harder than ever, and when her uncle gets her job she is not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and accepts the job. Getting the job at the garage opens a whole new world for Bronte, and things in her life are starting to look up, until all of a sudden this new found happiness takes a turn for the worse and once again Bronte’s life is a huge mess. Good thing for her that Crow is right beside her to help her along the way, but will the mess she found herself in have her pulling back, for his safety?
I have been such a HUGE fan of Chantal Fernando, since the Wind Dragons MC. I feel like this was not up to Ms. Fernando’s usual caliber. I am not sure what was missing in this story for me, there just was something. Maybe because the MC didn’t have anything to do with solving the problem and Bronte did it mostly by herself… idk. The naughty bits were also just ok. I will say that I did shed a tear or two for what the h had to go through, pulled on my heartstrings a bit. I give this 4 stars.

Well, I am not sure what to say. While I have loved most of Chantal’s MC books, this one just fell flat for me. It started off promising with enemies to lovers feel but then bam they are falling into bed together and into love almost instantly. I was so looking forward to the snarky comments and a little bit of angst. While there is a bit of a mystery going on, it seems that Crow and Bronte are just floating through it. Absolutely no tension whatsoever. While in real life that is preferable, in books I like to read tension-filled, edge of your seat romance.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
I’m always on the lookout for another MC romance to enjoy, so I was excited to dive into this book. I have to say thought that I ended up feeling let down. There were some things that I liked about the book. Like the writing was good and there was always another shoe waiting to drop. However, the rest of it just didn’t click with me. I liked Crow, I did but he was not my idea of a biker. Gruff, sweet and caring he was but alpha he was not. As for Bronte, I could not connect with her at all. I could never firmly decide if she was totally clueless or simply chose to be blind but either way, she kind of rubbed me the wrong way. If you are not really a hardcore MC romance fan, prefer a story and characters that are without an edge and can appreciate the never-ending avalanche of drama, drama, drama and even more drama, that will at the very least have you admiring the heroine’s strength of will to not just curl up into a ball in the nearest corner you might enjoy this book. If however, you are looking for anything else I recommend that you keep looking. This is my objective, freely posted review.

Hello, landmines.
Lots of landmines…
But outside of that, this was a fun read ~ not only because of Bronte and Crow, but also getting to catch up with some favs from the Knights of Fury (Yes, this is a spinoff/interconnected series ~ I didn’t realize this until a few chapters in *shrugs*)
I loved Bronte and Crow. Bronte is sweet, sassy and has a good heart. She’s one of those people that finds a way to roll with the punches, even if those punches break her heart. Crow is ~ to quote the synopsis ~ “hardheaded, stubborn and brutally honest” but this isn’t just when he’s being all kinds of broody and grumpy. He is a good man who, once a decision is made, is all in.
Their journey to their HEA was an interesting, but fun one. The start was definitely less than stellar, but the attraction was there and I enjoyed watching as they danced around each other until they had no choice but to dance with each other. The angsty-ness was on the low end, which I enjoyed because the drama that surrounded them was pretty intense, but I liked how it brought them closer and how it had their HEA mean so much more in the end.
This author always takes me on a ride and this one was a crazy one. The aforementioned landmines had me going “Da fuq?” and “really!!” but I cannot deny that they made sense and all of them were resolved in the end. And then there are the secondary cast of characters. I loved catching up with Saint and Skyler, Renny and Izzy, and Abbie and Temper as well as Uncle Neville and seeing how they are all doing in their relationships, but it was a lot of fun meeting the newbies: Billie, Cam, Chains, Dee and Nadia. I adored Cam and cannot wait to get to know Chains better. So here’s to looking forward to the next book in the series!

Will her world hijacked from its axis, will she find solace in the arms of the man who quiet her fears …
I tried, I wanted to like this book, and the first third of it was fine, and the romance was easy going, then there was the first death.
From here, while the romance continued its smooth path, the background plot turned quite abhorrent.
Xeno Crow is the rock of this tale, he lends his hands for weapons or his shoulder for comfort, he is there and never goes back even when he finds closed doors. He is the most supportive character.
Bronte is the weak element, she crumbles at every turn, shutting everyone out and keeping everyone at bay while she cries herself to depression.
Let say what pointed out first. Like why did they not involve the police forces, because whomever goes after drug dealers on its own. Whatever reinforcement a MC has, it will never be enough against kingpins.
Plus it is no a normal death. There should have been an autopsy. But no, a single clue left at the bedside of the body, and it is taken as proof of an accidental death.
And to add to all which was not right for me, who accepts the news one’s family was basking in drug trade like it was a normal occurrence. And where is the security usually following any drug baron….
And last who is agreeing to accept the money built on a legacy of drugs dealers.
Okay she made a donation, but she should has given it all.
I tried to, but there were too many inconsistencies.
2.5 stars rounded up to 3 because I liked the hero.

This first book in the Fast & Fury series is a great introduction and will have me coming back for more. Crow and Bronte’s story is a little sweeter than what I am used to from this author but makes the story no less captivating. Plenty of drama, chaos, heat and sadness as we intertwine with the Knights of Fury MC. Bronte is a strong independent woman who gets her fair share of knocks and has to learn that letting other people have your back doesn’t make you weak. Crow will make you swoon and tremble as not only does he show us his alpha stubborn side but his loving protective side. A story with plenty of ups and downs to have you enamoured right to the very last page.
Is nice to know that these MC bikers are not always the cause of chaos but will always be a solution. A united front. With all the tragedy that Bronte and Crow face, this story shows a lot of resilience. The book is sad because of it but both characters are strong. I found it very endearing and interesting to be able to read a different side of an alpha male and of life in the club. Because yes, this biker is possessive and protective. But he is more than that. He is smart, level headed, compassionate and domesticated. I found it very refreshing that in this story the purpose of the characters are switch. He is the voice of reason. He is easy going but assertive when he needs to be. Crow is the glue. And with a man like that, you will naturally be part of a relationship without pinpointing when it started, and won’t even complain about it, like Bronte. Crow respects and admires her but he will also make her stronger. And don’t be fooled, she already has a backbone of steel.
4 star review of Custom Built (Fast & Fury #1) by Chantal Fernando
Chantal Fernando is a new author to me and how I have not come across her work before I have no idea and as soon as time permits I will be checking out her other books.
There were times that my heart almost broke for Bronte Pierce, it seems no matter what she does, life just keeps piling on her; no matter what she tries to do something always goes wrong. Getting a job at Fast & Fury , despite knowing nothing about motorcycles, she hopes her luck is finally changing. Despite her hopes, nothing is as it seems and she struggles working for her boss Crow.
Crow is a typical biker, hard headed, stubborn and at times gritty, after all he runs an MC so he has to be. Could there be a softer side to Crow? Bronte knows she will never find out. The chemistry between them is intense and you could feel the sparks as you read.
There were twists and turns and suspense that kept me invested in their story and although not a long story, Ms. Fernando packed a lot in to it.I received a copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley .
Good start to the series…
This is the first in a spin-off series of the Knights of Fury which I had not read (yet). Even as I felt like I was walking into an already started conversation with many of the secondary characters, I quickly came up to speed as Bronte and her new boss Crow got acquainted.
The leads, as well as their family and friends, were at times fun and flirty and others deadly serious. Bronte was uncomfortable with her new job at first but quickly found her groove as everyone but Crow was supportive. Crow was not warm and fuzzy with her at all but it didn’t take long for that to change as they faced the unexpected. They were likable characters, honest and forthright with no fake or phony drama – believe me, there was more than enough to handle without it! When Bronte and Crow butted heads they created sparks and that led them down a path where they soon faced all the challenges… together.
A good start to the series and now for me to fill in the backstory with the Knights…
*I happily reviewed this story
**Thank you to NetGalley
From the book cover (loved the cover!) and the blurb, I thought this would be a MC romance. While there is a romance with Crow who is part of a motorcycle gang, this takes a back seat to the suspicious death of Bronte’s family member.
Told solely in Bronte’s POV, (which is not my favorite vehicle of storytelling) we follow her story from being an unemployed assistant to a PI to getting a new job at a motorcycle shop where she meets Crow. There is also the mysterious events that happen to her family.
The motorcycle shop is the legitimate front for the club but that’s about all you get to see regarding the MC part of the story. Any references to other aspects of the club are glossed over or non-existent. Even the romance storyline seemed under developed. No romantic drama, no heart felt angst.
Maybe because Crow’s POV is not covered, I didn’t feel like I got an in depth read on him. He just seemed like a luscious but shadowy male character that got slotted as the romantic figure who was amenable to everything that Bronte wanted.
There are some unexpected twists regarding the mystery aspect but on the whole I was disappointed with this story.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
This was a fantastic start to Chantal’s new MC Spin off. I hope everyone gets their story told.
Bronte is definitely put through the ringer in this book. Plenty of action and pain coming her way. Grumpy Crow was all kinds of yummy and I kinda wish I got a little more of him. He was your quintessential gruff biker who cares for his woman.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to whoever comes next.

Fast & Fury #1
The Knights of Fury MC has a new employee working in their custom motorcycle shop, Fast & Furty. Bronte Pierce needed the job and her cousin Abbie put a good word in for little. Little did she know that her boss, Crow, would become her partner in the future. This was a fairly tame MC romance geared toward the NA reader.
What I liked:
* Bronte: strong, independent, hard worker, good friend, loving, kind, and perfect for Crow
* Crow: strong, handsome, allied with his MC brothers, capable, loving, good big brother, and perfect for Bronte
* Bronte and Crow together…great chemistry and relationship
* The accepting and loving way Crow dealt with Bronte’s health issue
* The supporting characters
* The way everything came right for Bronte and Crow by the end of the book
* That the bad guy/killer was caught
* Wondering who will have their story told next
What I didn’t like:
* The murderer and his daughter…both were easy to dislike
* That Bronte lost so much through the story
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in the series? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC – this is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
Custom Built is a yummy read. I love Bronte and Crow so much. The chemistry between them is amazing. They just bring a smile to your face. Bronte will take hold of your heart with everything she goes through and faces once the family secrets start coming out. Crow is the strength that Bronte needs. He is one of those bikers you want in your corner. I really couldn’t get enough of this one. You need to experience this one for yourself and get to know Bronte and Crow.
Aah. Bronte pierce is such a sweetie, no matter what life throws at her, she always seems to look on the bright side of life. That was my first thought when I started this story. By the time I’d finished the book, I was amazed that the girl had any faith left. Losing her job, her family, her friends, what else can go wrong? Well, quite a lot actually. All the drama has in fact brought her to the attention of the Knights of Fury MC, and in particular Crow, and let me tell you, underneath that hard chiselled exterior is a soft, loveable and protective teddy bear. That’s a good job really, because Bronte needs all the support she can get. Action, drama, and a wonderful love story. Sweet and compelling. Not too heavy on MC drama, and I’ve got to be honest Crow doesn’t play the part of your regular tough, uncompromising biker. I loved him all the same. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
He’s Custom Built….just for her
Bronte has just lost her job and has had some other sad personal news as well. Unfortunately, for her, her life is about to change drastically and even more so as he’s just started working for the Knights of Fury MC and she’s about to figure out who she really is but also who she can lean on when times get tough…Crow
This story is the beginning of a spin off to the Knights of Fury and features Crow and BronteI loved catching up with old favourites and when I figured out who Bronte was related to from the previous series, it made this one so much more enjoyable as I had some background story already. I loved these characters and I can’t wait to see who’s story is next I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and I voluntarily leave my honest review
3.75
I was really enjoying Bronte and Crow’s unconventional romance, but I felt there was something missing with it. The book seemed to focus more on Bronte’s drama filled life than the budding love between them, so I felt a little disconnected. It almost seemed more of a mystery or sleuth than a romance.
I did enjoy the plot, but toward the end, I felt there was a lot of unnecessary things added into the mix to make the book longer, these additions were what made my rating go down.
I would love to give this author another shot though, because I did delight in all the characters!
Motorcycles, MC, mechanic, private investigator, murder mystery
I didn’t reads the synopsis of this going in because 1, Synopses sometimes give the book away and 2. I just don’t sometimes. I trust this author not to do me dirty. I’ve read enough of her MC series to know pretty much what to expect. And while this TECHNICALLY isn’t an MC series it has heavy links to one. But I really enjoyed this and the dynamic between Bronte and Crow. There was a little bit of indifference to love but that was quickly thrown by the wayside because Bronte GOES THROUGH IT in this book. Man…But Crow always has her back and I love that. Check the triggers should you need them, but I’m once again hooked into this authors worlds and ready for the next installment please. I volunteered to read an early copy of this and leave an unbiased review.
