This is s soft MC romance
Bronte’s having a rough go at it right now when she’s given the opportunity to work at a garage, all helped along by her newly discovered cousin. Though she knows nothing about bikes or mechanics, she’s excited to have a job and to get to know her cousin better. Her cousin’s man, Temper, is the prez of the MC that owns the garage, and she figures her cousin will be around there a lot to help her settle in. She doesn’t figure on her new boss being so um hostile to her. Oh well, she can get along without being in his good graces. Right?
Crow’s unsettled by his new gorgeous employee, and acts like a jerk for awhile til he gets his head on straight, and from there on he actually shows that he’s a good guy. Color me shocked! But there are going to be many, many things that will come out of nowhere, and Crow and Bronte will have to stick together if she wants to make it through with her sanity and her life intact.
I guess I’m used to MC romances that are a little…um, how shall I say this? Harder? Darker? Grittier? Don’t get me wrong, I ended up liking Custom Built, it was just a little sweeter than I am used to in an MC read. Crow is definitely much sweeter than the average alphahole MC dude, actually, he wasn’t really alpha at all, just a good guy who happens to be in an MC. Bronte, though, is the real standout for me. I loved her character – her emotional and mental strength, and her survivor attitude and big heart. Though this is much sweeter than I’m used to dealing with, I still liked Custom Built, I liked Bronte and Crow, and look forward to much more Fast & Fury stories.
This book was amazing and intriguing. I couldn’t put book down once started.
I love Bronte and Crow together, Crow fought his feelings for ages but when he gives in and bes there for Bronte through everything it is sweet. He helps her through a lot. I loved them together.
I can’t wait for more.
A surly hunk of a boss just might be her salvation when her world starts to crumble around her! With the first book in her brand new Fast & Fury series Chantal Fernando takes her reader on a roller coaster ride filled with heartache, turmoil and danger as passion overrides it all in this electrifying story.
Bronte is an easily relatable character as she gets hit with bad news after bad news and has to make life adjustments on the fly. Her story is attention grabbing and very enjoyable.
Crow is brusque, surly and bad boyish, but has a heart of gold and will protect her to the end of time.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of MC, a bit of suspense and a passionate romance building throughout. I’m looking forward to more to come in the series.
This is about the sweetest MC lite story I have ever read. It’s so sweet my teeth hurt, lol (not that that is a necessarily a bad thing.) I was excited to hear that this author was starting a new series and one that combined MC club and mechanics because they work so well together. I enjoyed getting to know new club members and get to see old favorites as well. As this is a spin-off series, we get a lot of time with the Knights of Fury members from precious books. The world building was nice and the individual personalities were fun as well.
I enjoyed the romance in this story, though it was way too sweet for my tastes (I like a bit of grit and dirt, especially in a MC story). These two were definitely made for each other. There is quite a lot that happens in this story and as such is fast paced. I did think the flow was a bit off starting at the 50% mark, it was repetitive and the main action was wrapped up by 75% but also too much was added at the end that just drew out the story without really adding anything to it. .I also felt that this story was too clean and simple. There also was not much MC about this story other then the very basics (had patches, rode motorcycles and had a clubhouse).
The emotions, heart, kindness and respect was a major theme throughout this entire story and it leaves me with a nice warm fuzzy feeling. I enjoyed reading this story, it wasn’t my favorite from this author but I am still excited to have read it. I think others looking for safe, wholehearted warm stories will enjoy this one. I received an ARC via NetGalley, Carina Press and the author and I am leaving my honest review.

Chantal never fails to bring you a story full of outstanding characters – a story full of twist and turns – a story full of drama and suspense – a story full of love. I have loved every book I have read by Chantal and this one is no different. Custom Built is book 1 in the Fast & Fury series BUT we get some of our old Faves from the Knights of Fury!!
Bronte has a lot going on in her life. She has some serious medical issues but she is not going to let that stop her.. She is strong, sassy, independent, and all around amazing..
Crow is strong, broody, handsome, alpha… (i mean what’s not to love).. he is also her new boss.. and he is a grade A A$$!
This book was fast paced, easy to read.. I just LOVED this book.. I devoured it in one sitting.. I cant wait to see what else Chantal gives us.!!
Once again, this author has started a brand new series, and blown it out of the park! If this book is any indication of how this series is going to be, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book! It’s everything an MC romance should be, gritty and dangerous, but also sweet and emotional. This book is connected to the previous series, Knights of Fury, since Crow is a member, and there are plenty of interactions from characters of the books in that series (which I love!), but the series revolves around a custom bike shop, Fast & Fury.
Bronte is happy with her life, but things are changing! She loses her job, finds out she has family she didn’t know about, then she finds a new job, with a hot new boss! Tragically, life keeps knocking her down, and then things get crazy! But in he midst of all of this, she finds someone to help her through it all, someone that will stand with her even when things get really bad.
Crow is a man’s man. Alpha. Dangerous. Hot! Family means everything to him, both blood and club. And he will do anything to protect those he calls his own. Bronte becomes one of his, with just one look, and nothing will stop him from making her his!
This book is full of tragedy, but it also has its share of laughs. It’s emotional, so be prepared, but there was also plenty of danger and surprises on every page! I adored these characters, and couldn’t have wished for a more perfect story for them! This book is a must read, and the hints we got in this book of what is to come promises that the rest of the series will be just as exciting!
This was my very first read by this author. While chatting with a friend about it, I found out that this is a spin-off series from her MC series. The book started really strong, and I was loving it. The heroine, Bronte, seemed to be a strong person, and she also seemed to have some crazy chemistry with the hero, Crow, who also happened to be her new boss. That fizzled out rather quickly, and so did my excitement for the story.
The entire book is being told only from Bronte’s POV, and it just felt so one-dimensional, and a little boring to be honest. There was a bunch of drama thrown in there at some point. But after reading so many books lately with such complex plot lines, this one just went over my head, and I didn’t feel invested at all. Also, it was unnecessary in parts. Once the main drama got clarified, there was not much else to say. But the author decided to throw a couple more things in there to get a good word count in, and I think that worked against her, at least for a first time reader of her work like me.
Also worth mentioning, this was the mellowest MC I have ever read about. They wanted to act badassy, but it wasn’t working out. I wasn’t impressed with the sexy scenes either, they felt forced and there just because they are expected in a romance novel.
The ending dragged for many chapters, and just when I thought it was over, she was gearing up to throw more at us.
In all honesty, had I read this book ten or more years ago as part of some Harlequin series, this would’ve been awesome. The competition is pretty intense in the romance world now, though, with all the independent authors out there, and this book does not compare with so many others that I’ve read.
Custom Built is the first book in the all new Fast & Fury Series by Chantal Fernando and it follows the story of Bronte and Crow. Bronte has been having the toughest year. Her health hasn’t been doing well and she’s just lost her job. She could really use some good news. So, when her uncle has the in on a new job for her, she can’t help but jump on it. Little did she know that this opportunity was going to turn her whole world upside down….
Overall, I thought this book was a solid read. I thought the plot was entertaining and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. I really liked Bronte and Crow together. Their banter was fun and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. While they might have butted heads in the beginning, it quickly changed into something more. The chemistry was instant and just oozed off the pages.
I did have some issues with this story. At times, it felt like there was a lot going on. While there certainly wasn’t a dull moment, it felt like it was too much. Also, I feel like I need to mention the drama. Now, I like drama as much as the next person, but in this book, I’m sorry to say it was over the top. Some of it made sense, but the other instances were just drama for the sake of dram and it just didn’t work for me.
Custom Built is fast-paced and entertaining read. The characters draw you into their story and leave readers wanting to know what will happen next. There were some things that I didn’t like about this story, but in the end, I think this was a solid read and I’m glad to have checked it out.
Chantal never fails to set the mood with every story bringing a slew of multidimensional characters and a in depth ever evolving suspenseful and action packed plot that has us all up in our feels.
Poor Bronte!. That girl honestly went though a horrible show of disasters throughout her journey and my heart went out to her. The very fact she did not crumble under all of the drama is a perfect show of the kind of character she is. Strong, resilient and sweet she really is a well rounded, likeable and relatable character.
Their journey starts off with some animosity giving that hate to love vibe creating tension that only fuels the chemistry between them and eventually leads to a undeniable connection they can’t fight any longer. It’s frustrating, sensual and sweet and it’s heartbreaking, surprising and funny. Bronte and Crow do not have a easy journey both due to their personal situations and unforseen circumstances out of their control. Add in the fact they are stubborn and you have yourself a hot mess. It’s not super heavy on mc drama but it definitely got it’s fair share of drama. It’s sweet and gripping and unpredictable in all the best ways and I’m so excited to see where this series goes. I love this author and the way she writes so effortlessly creating this world of wonder with characters that demand you pay attention. I think as far as a first in the series goes.. this is a great start!.
I was super excited to see an extension of the Knights of Fury MC with this series and Fernando did not disappoint. Things were delved into more from this MC and I loved the concept behind this one. This one features Crow, who runs the motorcycle shop and Bronte, who has ties to Abbie. The connection these two have is such a deep sizzle undercurrent that will keep you on your toes. The twists and turns that are added to this story make it that much more in depth. My heart ached for all the trauma that Bronte endured though. But she was such a fighter. Crow is just sinful and I kinda wanna keep him to myself! If you have been a fan of Fernando and her MC books, this one is an amazing addition.
Chantal Fernando writes some romantic biker romances! As bad as her bikers and their MC is once they find their lady love they will do anything to keep her.
Crow is running the motorcycle shop Fast & Fury. Bronte is at a point in her life where surprises are being thrown at her left and right and her life is changing fast. When her uncle and father’s surprise lands her a new job working at Fast & Fury she quickly butts heads with Crow. When things take a major turn for the worse Crow ends up stepping up for Bronte and sparks fly.
I love MC romances and while I like my MC clubs with a bit more hardness to them this story was still good.
Custom Built is the first title in the Fast and Fury series, a spin-off from the Knights of Fury series. Bronte and Crow’s story features many familiar characters from the Knights of Fury series.
Bronte is a survivor. She’s struggling after losing her job, but then she just seems to keep taking hits personally, physically and mentally.
Crow has a tendency to come across as a bit of an ass and would have loved part of this title to be told from his point of view. Once you get past his original behavior you see more of the Crow from previous titles that I loved.
Despite their antagonistic behavior, the chemistry between this pair is undeniable.
A story of family, friendship and loyalty with action, drama and a touch of suspense.
I look forward to future additions to the series.
This past year has been a complete nightmare for Bronte Pierce, between some medical issues she’s having and losing her job she feels like everything is stacked against her. But her family steps in and offers her a helping hand in the form of a job at a local motorcycle shop. She is thankful for the job but a little uncertain about her broody new boss Crow. He doesn’t seem to care for her, and is often quite rude, but she suspects there is a nice guy under all that broodiness… she just has to find a way to bring it out.
When danger comes knocking and her life is threatened, she tries to do what she has always done and handle things on her own, but Crow isn’t having it, and steps in. No good can possibly come from this… or can it?
Custom Built is a sultry and edgy little page-turner that will have your eyes glued to the pages from beginning to end! This one brings us into the lives of Crow and Bronte who are complete opposites on the outside, but internally they both carry an indomitable inner strength and stubbornness that sometimes gets in the way, but also unites them. These two may have not been a likely pairing at first glance, but the more pages you turn the more you will realize they were perfect for one another, the light to the other’s dark, the one missing piece they never knew they needed. I adored these characters, they banter they shared made me smile, and the unexpected sweetness they shared touched my heart. And then of course there is the sparks, now those set the pages aflame quite a few times! Between the pages of this one readers will find a well penned love story packed with action and danger, slow simmering romance, and moments that will put a vise-like squeeze on your heart… it’s downright amazing!! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Custom Built by Chantal Fernando is book One in the Fast and Fury Series. This is the story of Bronte and Crow. Poor Bronte hasn’t had it easy from the first chapter of this book and she kept taking the hits. When a family member gets her a job as a receptionist in a motorcycle shop she tries to do her best with the job and to move forward. But, she finds her boss…Crow not a easy man at least not to her. Crow of course seems to be fighting his attraction to her but he finally knows he needs to be there for her when she ends up in danger. I am a huge fan of this author’s writing. I love her alpha male who dominate the strong heroine…although in this book it didn’t seem like her regular male character I still found it to be a page turner.
3.5 Stars
This is the first book in the Fast and Fury series introducing a new set of characters although some familiar faces make an appearance in the story. If you like your MC books on the darker side then this is not it, although there is some drama it never felt dangerous and out of control. The book is more focused on the relationship between Crow and Bronte. I liked the tension between them when they first met the banter and back and forth was funny. At times it was like they went from antagonistic to loved up a little quickly but with all that sexual tension it was inevitable but I felt like some parts of building a relationship was missing. I would have liked more involvement from the guys in the MC as I prefer these stories to have a darker edge. This was an enjoyable sometimes sweet romance.
A Great Start
Bronte has had some really bad luck lately including getting fired from her PI work and she thought that bad luck was following her when she landed another job with the help of a relative. How could someone who look so good and treat people so nice be such a grouch to her?! Not only that but the guy ran the Fast & Fury custom bike shop and was a member of the Knights MC. She tolerated his dirty looks and his standoffishness until she couldn’t stay away anymore.
Crow has been trying to keep the stunning admin out of his mind but that just keeps getting harder to do. He and Bronte have been dancing around each other until that night at the night club and things heat up from there. It is Crow who is there for her when her world begins to fall apart. The secrets, deceptions and her health are all life altering and it’s with Crow’s help that she tries to make her way through this maze. Nothing like having a hot as sin biker with true compassion in your corner.
I loved the Wind Dragons MC series and Fast & Fury is lining up to be just as good.
Bronte’s life seems like it’s just not going right at all. First she has been in and out of hospital. And then she loses her job. But her uncle gets her a job at Fast and Fury Custom Build shop. From the minute she meets the manager of the shop it seems like he hates her, but apparently it’s just to hide his feelings of attraction.
You would think this is where her life gets easier but alas no
I enjoyed this book, I just want more action more MC type of story, I mean Crow is part of the Knights MC, I just felt he wasn’t our normal Alpha Biker. He had his moments but I just wanted him to be a bit more Alpha’ish (is that a word) and more attached to his women’s side. But still a good stort. Bronte was definitely the ‘hero’ of this story. Looking
Looking forward to seeing what comes next in this new series
An enjoyable book 1 in this new series by Ms. Fernando. I loved the author’s style of writing in Custom Built. She gives us an action packed storyline and strong characters – especially the heroine. If I had one complaint, Crow’s character is a bit soft. I love how he isn’t afraid to show his emotions, however I am used to bikers being a little more alpha protective (but that’s just me and it in NO WAY took away from my enjoyment of the book). Don’t get me wrong, in his own way Crow takes care of what’s his, just not in the over the top way I am used to in MC reads.
Bronte’s life is in turmoil. She’s lost her job among other things. Her uncle steps in and gets her an office job at a custom motorcycle shop. A shop run by Crow, a bull headed and mercilessly honest biker. Needless to say these two but heads a time or two.
The book has a great storyline with a suspenseful twist I wasn’t expecting. The Knight’s MC are present and a part of the book but Crow and Bronte are the main focus. Very good read and I look forward to more from the Fast and Fury Series.
Custom Built, the first the Fast & Fury series from Chantal Fernando. You will recognize some characters from the Knights of Fury series, it’s always so much fun to catch up some or your past favorites.
This was such a easy story to get lost in, I really loved both characters, Bronte and Crow. Bronte is not living her best life, the hits just keep coming for her until her Uncle gets her a job at a motorcycle shop, she finally feels things are looking up. Crow is her new boss, he’s surly and grumpy, albeit drop dead gorgeous, she soon learns he has a kind heart. He doesn’t want to fall for her, he’s stubborn and hard headed, but he soon realizes he can’t keep his distance. She experiences so many tragic times in her life, Crow becomes the love and support Bronte needs
Their story will pull you in right away, lots of laughs, quite a few tears.
