Their young love ignited rapidly but diminished in the blink of an eye. A heart wrenching, second chance romance, that will make you believe, that everything happens for a reason.Charlotte Daniels is still as sassy as I remember her eighteen years ago, but now, she has a bite to match that bark. It doesn’t help that she grew into an irresistible woman, that I can’t keep my hands off of, not that … hands off of, not that I ever could.
Except now, there are two, very good reasons to keep my hands to myself. Yep…sometimes when people say they do something, they don’t.
A mistake I thought we made, comes barreling back into my life, but the way I’m looking at it now, it doesn’t seem to be a mistake. It seems like a blessing, like the raft that could pull me out of the deep waters, that have been dragging me down for a very, long time.

I’ve always been sure of two things:
1.Passion is dangerous. It will suck you in quickly. It will make you feel euphoric but then burn you; slowly and painfully until you’re left empty and abandoned.
2. Gabriel Gavinwood was my passion.
I’ve cut him out, not wanting to watch the train wreck, that replaced the boy I loved all this time. Fate has other plans though, and now our lives collide and there’s no going back.
When life throws me another curve ball and I run into said boy, literally, can I ignore that passion that once consumed us? Should I even try? Can we move on from our toxic past, build a future together and have our happily ever after?
This read is recommended for ages 18+ due to mature content.

Curveball is so addicting! I could not put this one down until the very last page, and I’m excited to dive right into book 2. Charlotte’s personally is sweet and caring, yet she has the determination and strength that any woman can aspire to have.
Nicole is such a great writer! She really knows how to get you sucked into the story and never want to put it down. That is what happened yet again with this book. I was hooked after just one chapter!!
This story is such a sweet, beautiful, yet heartbreaking story. But don’t worry it ends with a warming love story between two great lovers!
Charlotte aka Charlie Daniels and Gabriel Gavinwood were inseparable as kids and teenagers. They were best friends until they realized that they wanted to be more to each other and neither one were able to keep their hands off each other. They were each others first in everything, including heartbreak when they broke up and Gabriel was drafted to the MLB and was able to carry out his dreams. Charlie, she had hopes and dreams of playing softball at college but had to abandon all of her dreams when she found out she was pregnant with twins. She raised the twins on her own until her son, Devin, was drafted to a minor league team that Gabriel was the coach for.
I usually don’t have a problem with the insta and don’t judge too hard on it but Gabriel seemed to want to jump right into Charlie’s pants once he saw her again and it kind of irked me. His hurt at not knowing about the twins seemed almost non-existent. I know that this seems like a contradiction but when he did meet the kids he did make an effort to try, to bond, and get to know them; I really respected that. That when he was with them he tried, that he wanted to form a relationship. I am struggling with this review because I felt that the writing was good, the trope is one of my favorites but I felt like their coming back together and making peace with the past was off. I still really enjoyed the story and will recommend it to friends but . . . I am not sure, I can’t figure it out. Will recommend this book to other readers.
I read Curveball, book one in the Double Play series after receiving my free copy of the prequel, Learning the Curve, when I signed up for Nicole Rodrigues newsletter, and I knew I needed more of their story. The continuation of Gabriel and Charlotte’s story broke my heart. What started as a passionate, loving, and all-consuming highschool love and lifetime friendship took a curve nobody was expecting. Nicole has a fantastic way of making you feel like you are a part of the lives of her characters, and I couldn’t help but feel everything they did. Don’t worry; she put my heart back together in such a way I wanted more. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and anything else she writes! In keeping with the theme, this was a definite Grand Slam!
I’m not a fan of second chance books. What can I say it’s not in my nature to give a man a second chance , but I really enjoyed and loved this book . It’s a sweet and dreamy story about two people who are destined to be together, though it took them longer than usual to realize it.
I loved that the story begins in their teens and ends 20 years later and yet it was written really fast and gripping.
An amazing dramatic love story with interesting plot and let me not start with the steamy parts !
So I recommend this book to all the second chance romance lovers Enjoy this beautiful story with an amazing HEA
This second chance romance with a clear baseball theme had me hooked pretty quickly. It was charming, adorably southern and had some good twists.
Charlotte Daniels and Gabriel Gavinwood, such a lovable couple. They start out as high school sweethearts with no cares or worries, aside from protective parents and a rock-solid moral fiber. But that fiber would soon be tested and literally tear them apart as Gabe is drafted into pro-baseball and Charlotte’s life is changed forever… And as fate would have it, they are reunited close to twenty years after their love was ripped apart by a big, life-changing curveball.
Sassy yet sweet Charlotte has carried this dual secret with her all these years, and hot-headed Gabe finds out about it with earth-shattering clarity. Once reunited, the waters are heavily tested as both Gabe and Charlotte rekindle the hot burning flame between them all while trying to bring their family together.
I don’t wanna give away spoilers, so I won’t tell you any more. But believe me when I say this book is funny, heartfelt, dramatic and hot in so many ways. You’ll love the Gavinwoods and Daniels as they pull you into their tale of first love, heartbreak and a second chance to make the past right. I loved this tale and can’t wait until book two comes out, so I can see where Savannah and Jackson are headed.
Charlotte Daniels thought she knew what love was at a very young age. She was in irrevocably in love with Gabriel Gavinwood. However, a cruel twist of fate, and her heart was broken. Charlotte has been doing it by herself for 18 years. When Gabriel Gavinwood broke her heart at the tender age of 18, she vowed to do right by herself and her family. When another twist of fate thrusts the two back into each other’s lives, it’s easy to see that the chemistry is still there begging for them to act on it. There are two major questions that have to be answered before a happily ever after can ever be a part of their lives. Number one, can Charlotte forgive Gabriel for what he asked of her all of those years ago? And number two, can Gabriel forgive Charlotte for the secrets she’s kept all these years?
I discovered Nicole Rodrigues on Instagram of all places. Another person that I follow was raving about her books and I, being a lover of sports romance, decided to check this book out. I was hooked from the very beginning. This story line for this book drew me in, this troupe, like others that I’ve read always sucks me in because I wonder how the author will write it. Will the couple hold grudges, will they use things against each other things like that. With this story, I felt like there was some grudges but not anything that I felt like it dominated the entire book, which I’m grateful for. This book has real humor to it as well as some sad parts and I appreciate the balance between it all! Needless to say I’ll be jumping right into the next book in this series.
This second chance romance was so good. The emotions in this book were so powerful it hit me so hard and I could feel my heart cry for Charlotte. I could feel the pain in this book so much I needed to take breaks in this book because it was so sad for me. I love when a book can effect be that much, but holy crap there were times I thought I wouldn’t survive this book. It isn’t that there happen all these tragic things it is just that their pain is that big and that this author can write it so it feels like it is you that have lost the love of your life!
Charlotte is this powerful woman who is raising her 18 years old twins by her self. But she was also still in love with their father Gabriel. And it is though to avoid seeing everything he does when he is a famous baseball player and is always in the gossip magazines for the next new thing he did. So how do you get over the love of your life when you hear and see all about his life all the time and you are raising his kids that looks just like him?
Gabriel is the hero you just want to hate! I was rooting for him and I could feel he had a big heart under all that bullshit but for the love of god, every time he should step up and show Charlotte, Hey I love you and have your back what did he do? Yes, you guessed it he failed. I wanted to scream a little at him because I could see he was a changed man! He really wanted this. But he needed to get his head out of his ass.
So do you need a heavy, second chance romance, with some single parent, sports romance over it too well honey this is your book.
