From #1 New York Times-bestselling author W.E.B. Griffin comes a dramatic thriller in the Clandestine Operations series about the Cold War, the fledgling Central Intelligence Agency—and a new breed of warrior. January, 1946: Two WACs leave an officers’ club in Munich, and four Soviet NKGB agents kidnap them at knifepoint in the parking lot and shove them in the back of an ambulance. That is the … back of an ambulance. That is the agents’ first mistake, and their last. One of the WACs, a blonde woman improbably named Claudette Colbert, works for the new Directorate of Central Intelligence, and three of the men end up dead and the fourth wounded.
The “incident,” however, will send shock waves rippling up and down the line, and have major repercussions not only for Claudette, but for her boss, James Cronley, Chief DCI-Europe, and for everybody involved in their still-evolving enterprise. For, though the Germans may have been defeated, Cronley and his company are on the front lines of an entirely different kind of war now. The enemy has changed, the rules have changed—and the stakes have never been higher.

It was Historical interesting and easy to read.
It is really liked by me. I have been a fan of his for years. I just bought this book and couldn’t wait to get it read. This is the 3rd in thee series and you should read the first two before this. It will stand alone but will be better read in order.
Any book about the military written by WEB Griffin may be expected to be worth a read. I strongly advise beginning at the beginning of any one of his series… I’ve been rereading a couple… one series done and am starting the third book in the second. Yep, I’m a fan!
Good WWII story. Very entertaining.
Always have been a dedicated fan of WEB Griffin
WEB Griffin’s new character breathes life into his WW2 series of books. If you liked his other books, you will love this series as well.
I liked it so much that I am now reading the entire series.
Need to read his series to better understand and follow main characters.
Griffin’s books contain a history lesson as told through the story of his characters living through events you may never have been aware of that actually happened. All done in a page turner style!
Another great book by Griffith.
Interesting as always from Griffin
Read his old stuff. His son is mostly writing now and he’s nowhere close to his Dad.
One of my favorite authors.
Drags. First half of the book is mainly meetings and meals.
WEB Griffin is one of favorite authors. Enjoy the way WW II history is interwoven into the scenario.
All WEB Griffin’s books are awesome.
Awesome. Best author alive today.
It WEB Griffin. I’ve read everything he’s written. I happen to really enjoy his style and his characters.
I love every book from W.E.B. Griffin. This one cover the period immediately following WWII. The characters are very interesting and create a compelling story that page after page just flows and you can’t wait for the next part of the story.
