This review is for “Time to Jump” by Mona Marple only. I received a complimentary copy of the eARC and I will edit my review once I have read the entire book.
Felicity is a great character. The plot was enjoyable and stories from the Witch in Time universe are fun to read.
This review is for Mona Marple’s “Time To Jump”
This short story is a true page turner. It gets into the mystery straight away as the main character “jumps” into the past to solve a cold crime. Whilst it’s a fast moving story, the reader is left turning page after page as their own mind moves into “solve it” mode. I absolutely loved every minute of it! Great story!
I have finished reading Mona Marple’s contribution to this anthology after receiving it as an ARC and decided to voluntarily review it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Felicity, the main character, goes back in time to the 1940s. It was well-written with a surprise ending. I have pre-ordered the book and look forward to reading the entire thing.
I read Mona Marple’s Time to Jump. I really enjoyed it! I read it in one sitting as I could not stop reading it. I needed to find out what happened next and who rdun it. I was finding myself a little bummed that the story was coming to an end. I cannot wait to read more from Mona Marple. Her stories are the perfect blend between character development and action. There are plenty of twists and turns, but not so much that you get lost or confused in the story.
I enjoyed this Halloween Anthology.
I love Misty Bane’s story Better off Undead.
It is interesting and hilarious. The characters are great and have witty banter. I like the setting of the paranormal town of Mystic Key. This is a fun and engaging story.
Hauntings and Hardcovers by Elle Adams
This is a really intriguing story in a magical library. The characters are interesting. I enjoyed this story.
Time Witch on the Sidelines by. K.m Waller
I really enjoyed Time Witch on the Sidelines. This is a fun mystery. Nuala is a great character and this story gives us a chance to get to know her a bit more. The mystery was interesting. And the end had a great surprise.
Time to Jump by Mona Marple.
Time to Jump is an interesting mystery featuring Flick, a witch that travels back in time to 1947 to solve a cold murder case. I love Flick. She is a great character. This mystery is interesting and kept me guessing until the end. I really enjoyed this short story.
I did enjoy some stories more than others. Overall I found this short story collection interesting and fun. Many of the authors are new to me and I am interested to read more from these authors.
I have just read Mona Marple’s contribution to this anthology after receiving it as an ARC. I thoroughly loved it. The same witch, Felicity (or Flick as she likes to be called) goes back in time to the 1940s New York to investigate the supposed suicide of a young woman. Flick realizes that it was murder. She interviews many of the people involved in this woman’s life to determine who killed her. If Ms. Marple’s book is any indication of the quality of the short stories in this book, I can’t wait to read the whole thing. She did a wonderful job of capturing the society of that time.
I’ve preordered it and think everyone else should too especially after seeing the quality of the authors who are contributing to it. I’ve read many books by these authors and have loved them all. I’ve now read Ava Mallory, Elle Adams, and Bella Falls contributions and loved every book I’ve read. I know I’m going to love the others as well. I’ve finally read the rest of these and have found some wonderful new authors to read along my old favorites.
“Curses and Cauldrons” earns 5/5 Magical Mystery Tours…Engaging and Entertaining!
They’re Heeere! I am always excited about the release of the annual “magical” mystery anthology. The “Curses and Cauldrons” collection highlights many of my favorite authors (Tegan Maher, ReGina Welling and Erin Lynn, Ava Mallory, Nikki Haverstock, Danielle Garrett, Morgana Best, Stephanie Damore, Amorette Anderson, Mona Marple, April Aasheim) and some new ones I have started to explore (Elle Adams, Bella Falls, Misty Bane, K.M. Waller, Jenna St. James). Fifteen engaging “treats” to take the “trick” out of your Halloween with plenty of witches, magic, intrigue, and a bit of humor. Each author takes a few of their already established characters and pen them into another mysterious challenge in stories of magic, creatures, and mayhem…oh, my! Short stories, yes, but not short on engaging entertainment. Every single authors highlights wonderful characters using varied narratives, but full of descriptive language, entertaining dialogue, and lots of magic and mayhem! Enjoy!
