Cursed by the Moon, is the second book in the Wold River Series and is a book that should be enjoyed by all PNR lovers.
Noah is a rebellious man who while fighting in Afghanistan, was bitten by mistakes when being pulled from harms way. Thinking his life was over, he sunk to his lowest until The Night Shift agency pulled him up and relocated him to CA to heal and learn.
Cara is a student who is afraid of anyone she doesn’t know, especially males. Having been kidnapped and attacked, she has been trying to work through her fears to get on with life. When asked to house a bitten wolf for a short time, she was not sure if she could but agreed to give it a try.
This book shows two people who each have issues and how they help each other to get past them.
I highly recommend this and the series.
I am assuming you’ve read the blurb and this is my opinion. This book was intense. It had me in constant turmoil, my emotions were all over the place. Noah is back from overseas and trying to recover from losing his leg, as well as his humanity. He hates that a Marine he served with bit him and caused this change. Thankfully, Night Shift members have served with him and are there to help. Liam relocates him and temporarily places him with Cara, who we met in book one. Problem is Noah wants nothing to do with werewolves. The injury and bite have left him with a bad case of PTSD. Despite Cara’s issues with shifting and still recovering from an attack, she wants to help Noah acclimate. I love how invested in him she was and how easy it was for her to talk to him. I was disappointed in Noah for running away and being so selfish. I still think Liam is great, the way he watches out for Cara. This book was so full of feeling I was invested in this book from the start. I love the ending. it was well worth the emotional journey. I volunteered to read an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
I received this book as a gift and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the second book in the series. Noah was bitten while in Afghanistan and serving as a Marine. He cannot get used to the wolf within him. He tries to kill himself when the one who bit him calls. He hooks him up with some others who are just like him and gives him a place to stay to acclimate. He stays with a young woman named Cara. They are attracted to one another. She has a past filled with secrets she does not want Noah to know. Will they fall in love? If they do, can Cara and Noah both overcome their pasts to be with each other? Noah’s past catches up to him…will he choose Cara or the girl he had before he was Cursed by the Moon?
This is a story of two wounded souls, one a wounded warrior and the other by a horrific event which took her mother’s life. Noah is a Marine who while serving his country overseas was hit by a mortar shell and lost his leg, to save his life a fellow Marine, who was a werewolf, bit him and now he is trying to overcome severe PTSD, becoming a werewolf, of which isn’t going very well, and finding forgiveness for his fellow Marine. When the story starts he is contemplating taking his life, then enters the members of The Night Shift and moving to Malibu.
Cara has had her own traumatic events that she needs to work thru but since she was helped by The Night Shift she would like to pay it forward and accepts Noah into her home. They are both dealing with similar demons, are hesitant and afraid. Each of them have their own triggers, but maybe they can help each other overcome their demons. Their romance may be a rocky one but it’s their strength to overcome that pulls them together. This is a wonderful story about the tragedy of war and life events beyond peoples control. It’s also a story of learning how to trust, a growing need to love, and how to pick yourself up even when life throws you a bushel of lemons.
I received an ARC of this and this is my freely given review.
What do you do when the catastrophes keep coming?
When your life as you knew it seems to be over.
You can do one of two things. Give up, or build a new life.
This is the story of a man fighting his demons. Sometimes loosing, more often winning. And along the way he garners friends and a love that keeps him grounded, that helps him to give back what he so generously received.
What a wonderful enjoyable ready about tragedy of war and life events beyond the control of those involved. We also get a life lessons about learning to trust, opening your heart to love. Don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions, even when things appears to be wrong believe in each other. I will admit that Noah, with his double standard, got on my nerves. Overall entertaining read definitely a page turn. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Noah was a marine, who while serving in Afghanistan, got bitten by a fellow marine during an aeriall attack by accident. Now he not only lost part of his leg but also has been turned into a werewolf. He is about to take his own life when Night Shift stepped in to help him. He is moved and placed in the condo with Cara from book one. Noah hated being a werewolf and can’t forgive the guy who bit him.
Cara was relocated by Night Shift due to an incident four years ago. She starts falling for Noah as she is helping him. But she also knows that she needs to tell him about her past. Both Noah and Cara are hiding something and when they each find out about it things fall apart.
This book had me in tears on part of it. I was sucked emotionally into this world by the author. There isn’t the adventure of the first book but it still held my attention raptly. I recommend you to read this series and fall in love with it like I have!
Noah was a great character who was bitten and felt he was cursed. I loved Noah as he was a vet who had PTSD and was dealing with his injuries and becoming a wolf. Cara was also a great character who was also a wolf and had her own past. The two had great chemistry some steam and the story was great! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc I received
Heartwarming love story of two people trying to accept their wolf and overcome their past. Together they learn how to heal themselves and each other. It gives a great insight to how hard anxiety can be especially PTSD.
A well written story with great characters. Noah was bitten and has to figure out how to live with a monster. Cara has her own problems but tries to help him. Will their past get in their way? Can Cara and Noah help each other. Definitely would recommend reading this book. Held my interest from the start.
I was given an advanced reader copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
This installment from the Wolf River crew hit on some heavy subjects, but was very well done. PTSD is no joke and can have lasting effects for so many people, and those near them. Secrets, too, can be a struggle for some, and finding the best way to tell someone who needs to know because of how it can affect them even more difficult. Seeing how Noah and Cara dealt with their pasts and came to rely on one another was a touching read.
