Book One of SevenTrust was a liberty that as Kumari, Bae could not afford, especially after the murder of Bae’s mother, the late Kumari. The Kumari bloodline had to continue regardless of the cost, even if it was the life of someone she loved. There were only two things that a Kumari should trust; magic and her seven mates. The race was on for Bae to find and claim her seven mates before she had to … seven mates before she had to defend her realm from an unknown enemy.
With them, she still might not win, but alone she would definitely fail.

There is some amazing world building going on here!!! We get a complex world full of characters to both love and hate. Add in some magic, protocol, and an adorable kitsune to get a book you won’t want to stop reading. Cliff hanger ending that makes me want book two now not later. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This was a fantastic story that is brought to life by a fabulous narrator and I loved listening to every minute of it
This rabbit hole we get to travel down with Bae is awesome , I mean what woman would.not want 7 freaking men to be hers , hers to have treat her like the queen she is , but she has to find them and it is not as easy as you might think , I am ready for the next book
This is a reverse harem but really in this book it talks about it more then being one. The story over all is okay but it’s very slow. Not a whole lot happens in the first half that kept me just wanting to keep listening. The second half was better but really the last part was where it starts to get interesting with attacks and people conspiring but then it ends. It is continued in the next book but as of now she only has two mates. And boy not to be mean but in my mind reverse harem means some hot sex scenes because really isn’t that what we read them? There isn’t a lot in that department either. Mostly a jealous first mate, who gets over it when the second is claimed. The narrator did okay. I don’t have any complaints but I was not over all moved by her voice. The chances she has to envoys some feeling were few but I feel like they could have been better.
So, this is book 1 in a new series by Bradley and I think that because this is the first we’re getting a lot of back story on the characters as well as the fantasy land this takes place in. Not as romantic or erotic as I’ve come to expect from Bradley but still a good read / listen. Narration was wonderfully done and you are left with a bit of a cliffhanger so I’m excited to see what’s next in store for these characters and with this story line. Definitely some twists and turns up ahead I predict as well as some added romance and chemistry!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

This was an interesting story! I loved that she got to pick her mates but they had to be approved by the kitsune. There is an issue in this story and I hate that everyone just accepts it as a foregone conclusion. The future is not set, it can be changed, at least I have read that many times. The world they are in sounds wonderful, but there are still bad guys who want what they can’t have and this causes even more problems for the budding romance. I think all of them working together will be able to change the prophesy once she has all seven of her mates. Wow seven mates, and she is already pregnant by her first mate. I think the narrator did a good job on the performance; she used the emotions needed in the right places for you to feel the impact of the story. I am looking forward to the next book to see the conclusion for the characters and to meet the other mates.
I received a free copy of this audio book from Story Origin for an honest review.
This is the story of the Kumari, her ascension to the crown, her search for the prophecy and the seven mates she chooses along the way. Bae is mourning the death of her mother and trying to comprehend the importance of what she’s about to do. As the new Kumari, it is up to Bae to go in search of the prophecy with her brother, Kael, as her protector, her sister, Adelaide, as her advisor and surrounded by over twenty guards. It is the day of her Commencement, her formal ascension to the crown, and three delegates from each tribe have come to negotiate for the needs of their people. Of all 21, Prince Armel stands out with his sparkling eyes and long glances. Bae’s magic, and that of her Kitzune, is leading her to her mate. The descriptions of her interactions with her possible mates, their personalities, their likes, their inner thoughts are very well-written and As they continue along their journey, there are a few disagreements and a plot is being hatched. With a cliffhanger ending, the next book can’t come quickly enough! The narration is wonderfully done by Elizabeth LaRose. She gives each character a distinct voice with a perfect accent!
Cursed by the Crown by Hanleigh Bradley is a fantasy PNR reverse harem that I listened to on audio narrated by Elizabeth LaRose. This is the first book in the Kumari’s Kitsune seven book series.
I am pretty much willing to try any genre/book written by Hanleigh and this book did not disappoint. I really enjoyed this story about Kumari (Bae) needing to find her seven mates per tradition so she can rule the kingdom. Throughout this book she finds two of her seven mates. The book does have some suspense and twists due to the prophecy that may be the Kumari’s downfall.
The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it is the first book in a seven book series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Tainted by Prophecy to be released on audio so I can get more of Bae and her mates.
Elizabeth did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
In the beginning, I was a little confused about what was going on and who was who. After a bit, it clicked and I was hooked. Bae is going into her reign and needs to find her 7 mates. Finding her mates is interesting but there’s also magic, prophecies, secrets, and deceit. With the ending, I’m kinda hooked now and will be checking out book 2.
This is the first book in the series and is a slow burn RH. Bae is a Kumari and the new Queen after her mothers murder. She, along with her mates and siblings will hepp rule the 7 tribes and maintain the magic that keeps everything balanced.
This is a slow paced book with a lot of world building. You also get to know the main characters well.
Bae’s first role as queen is to find her 7 mates, one from each who will help her rule. However, there are prophecies that have come into play, which are frustratingly cryptic and there are some who do not want to maintain the balance of magic and see Bae rule over the tribes.
This was a captivating and intriguing story!! A great start to the series with Bae rushing to find her 7 mates (yes, you heard me right, 7!!!) and master her magic in hopes to save her kingdom. She comes up short in the claiming department, she only finds 3 and claims only 2. Will she claim more in the next installment? I can’t wait for the next book in this wonderful series!
love this exciteing intense emotiona broken heartstopping love story of bae and her mates
ready for more
This book is fantastic. Bae is the new Kumari after her other died. Now she has to find her seven mates before everything goes wrong. People want power and Bae is in the way. Will she find her mates in time? In this book she meets three and claims two. But all is not well as there is a complot forming against her…
After the tragic death of her mother, ,Kumari, Bea doesn’t have time to grieve, she will be next Kumari,Queen to her people.
By tradition she must have seven mates. As her mother explain to her ,all of her mates have different roles in her life.
Against her believes,Bea left her kingdom in search.
Her search takes her on an adventure where she finds two of her seven mates, but it is not without suspense and twists. She must learn to rely on her-magic, instincts and heart . The things may not be as they appear.
We going to follow the journey and continues search for her other mates.
This is an intriguing and unique storyline and I look forward to seeing where her journey takes her next.
Omg this book was awesome…adventure.. love… hate and maybe even war… this is the first book and I can’t wait for the next one.. in this book Baes mother sacrifies her life to save Bae..
In doing so making Bae the new Queen.. thus starting her adventure off to finding her seven mates.. this book left me wanting more… I am now a new fan of this author and will be checking out her other books.
This world is so fantastique. Those characters so vivid. The magic palpable. Kitsun is beautiful. Kumari is determined, however learning her new position and dealing with mating is not easy at all. There are trahisons which just bubbles. Closest ones that put trust in wrong people. There are deaths and sorrows. And prophecies. It’s a hell of ride.
This was a first for me. I’ve read ’fantasy’ before, but this one was different – in a good way.
I see surroundings and essence that are new to me. The storyline is also different.
Bae and Armel are wonderful together and I’m looking forward to see where Caspet will fit in all this.
I do feel sorry for Adelaide….
An interesting plot that had me interested from reading the blurb. Here we have a reverse harem style novel that sets up the beginning of a story about a Queen (the Kumari) in a realm of magical beings, who seeks her Seven [mates] from the seven realms.
While I was really excited to read this book, I struggled to keep the excitement up and felt like this book just perhaps was not meant for me. However, that may not be the case for you, as there are a lot of good qualities in the book. There is a lot of build-up to what is happening in the story, including the discovery of prophecies and seeking the magical threads that tie the Kumari to her Seven. We have a lot fo relationship building, and we don’t find our FMC just jumping into bed to create a Mate Bond (like we can find in other stories). However, for me the use of the miss-mash third person perspective made the story not read smoothly, and felt like a confused narrator who would switch from internal monologue to use of “he/she” a lot.
Overall, this book isn’t really my thing and I probably won’t follow along with the series, but it may just be the kind of thing you’re looking for.
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration**
I liked this story and would have given it a full 5 stars if it wasn’t a cliffhanger.
The heroine, Bae, is strong and resilient. She battles the emotions at the loss of her mother and the requirements on her as the new queen.
The world in which this story lives is well developed. A couple of parts were a little drawn out and my attention waned.
All in all, a good read.
An engaging first in series
I liked it – suspense – intrigue – mystery- romance
The Kumari -She is the reason their world has peace –
Her blessed magic blended with the love of a mate from each of the seven realms creates a balance of beliefs and cultures that guide her decisions as queen and protects the magic of their world
I enjoyed the way Bradley built this world
Each of the seven realms offers a different culture –
The warriors, the scholars, the hunters, the empaths -you get the idea – and she shows how each, or begins to show, balances the other.
This is not your typical reverse harem – thank the muses’ – There is a storyline
This is the first in series and as such we are introduced to some of the main players and given hints at possible plot lines and antagonists
I enjoyed the characters we have met so far and the peaks we have been given at future events
There are some areas that felt rushed and I would have liked more detail or background on/in but overall an enjoyable read
Look forward to book two
