4.5 star read
YA fantasy isn’t my normal read but this was fast paced and entertaining, and really draws you in.
This book started with a bang and just kept going from their. I’m totally hooked.
Maddison (a witch born to mundane parents) can control wind. She is trying to live a normal life until her boyfriend is killed in a freak accident which she blames herself for.
What happens next lead us on our adventure…
The story does leave a few things unresolved… but that just makes me want to read the next book more.
Bring on book 2.

Madison is a witch with no training. Her father died when she was young and her mother turned to drugs. One day at school, a tornado comes and she uses her air power to save her best friend, but inadvertently accidentally kills her boyfriend. She decides to enroll at the school for witches, albeit, a year-and-a-half later…she should have started at 15, not 17. She quickly makes a few new friends, her roommate cannot stand her, and she has a short time to catch up on the curriculum. Her roommate is murdered~ Now, it is up to her friends and her to catch the killer, discover and decipher clues, find the ingredients for the headmaster, discover the secrets of the statues and most of all…stay alive!! This is the first book in a new series that will keep your attention to the end. It is full of action and leaves a bigger mystery to unravel~ I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I loved this book. It captured my interest right from the first page and kept it until the last page – then left me wanting more. I am really hanging out for the next book. Madison accidentally kills her boyfriend during a tornado. She was trying to help another friend and her witchy powers got away from her. She takes herself away from her druggie mother to a school for witches in hopes of being trained to control her powers. After finding her room-mate dead at the bottom of the stairs, she felt that everyone thought she had something to do with the death. Her and her friends decide to investigate.
As always Miss Hamilton never fails to amaze me. The world building was fantastic and you couldn’t tell where one author picked up/left off.
Weaved just so, the characters and world building came alive and I wanted to be part of this world.
Cant wait for book 2!

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review. Also this author is new to me, but I don’t think it will be that way for long.
Holy shiznet!!! What an awesome read. I cried for Madison at the beginning, but loved her strength as time went on. There is such a gr8 mystery to go along with this story. And you won’t believe who did it. I can’t wait to read the next story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Madison thinks she’s a weak powered witch until a tornado touches down and she has to use her powers to save her best friend, but everything comes at a price. This price she couldn’t handle and runs off to La Voisin School for Young Witches to seek help with her powers so nothing like that will ever happen again. Between her past and the secrets the school harbors it’s more danger than she expected. Between mean girls, an unexplainable death, and the mysterious statues around the school she’s in for a hell of a year while keeping the reader engaged in the story.
