Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day has a way of bringing people together.Brendan: Romance isn’t my thing, and I hate Valentine’s Day. All that matters is I’ll be working that day at the restaurant…or so I thought. I wasn’t expecting the crazy guy in the alley to try to kill me, or the hot paramedic who showed up to start flirting with me. Now the red-headed medic wants a date, but given my … date, but given my cursed love life, of course, I turned him down…for now.
Ryan: Okay, so maybe hitting on an injured guy in a dirty alley, no matter how cute, wasn’t the smoothest move. But sometimes my mouth gets the better of me, so after they stitched him up, I asked him for a date. Well, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! He turned me down, but I made sure he has my number…
Brendan and Ryan have very different views of romance and, in particular, Valentine’s Day. Can the romantic spirit of the holiday work it’s magic to bring these two hot men together?

Ryan meets Brendan when he is called to help a stabbing victim. Brendan was walking home saw a teen being assaulted and tried to save him from the drunk that was beating him. The guy stabbed Brendan. Ryan is a paramedic that came to help him. Love the play between them and that reality of ex’s and the hesitations because of them. Nice ending.
Your person is out there, you just have to be willing to say, yes. Brendan, chef, 28 was on his way home from grocery shopping on one of his rare days off. He saw what he perceived was an assault, and rushed into the alley to offer help. Sadly, the thug was drunk and armed. Brendan was hurt and the victim a teenager who made a bad choice. Brendan is a reluctant hero! Ryan is a tall, exuberant paramedic w boundless personality. He was persistent and Brendan finally said yes! Will Brendan lower his walls and let Ryan in? Nice story. The back and forth is fun and funny. The ending was a bit open and I prefer HEAs and not HFNs. Brendan and Ryan were great characters. Ryan’s ex was very nice. Brendan’s dad was absolutely delightful, I’d like a story about him. Good job! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really loved reading this romance between Brendan and Ryan. Their banter with each other made this book a very entertaining read. The very cute chef let down his guard a little for the charismatic paramedic and it was lovely. Their attraction was sweet and intense with lovely kisses and steamy HOT intimate times. Nice romantic read for Valentines Day.

This is a fun must read ROM/COM. I loved the playful action between Ryan and Brendan. Ryan is very out going and wants to bring Brendan out of his quiet shell. The two meet when Brendan tries to help a teenager from getting hurt. Instead Brendan is shot, and the paramedic who comes his rescue is none other than a very sexy fun loving Ryan. These characters mess very well together and bring a happily ever after that this author is known for.

This was a sweet and cute romance. I enjoyed it for it being a short Valentinesday story. It didn’t seem rushed or like anything was missing from the story for it being so short. The story took a bit to take off and a part of me kind of wanted more intimate moments by both characters. The chemistry was there a bit and it was overall a fun and cute story about two people who find each other just in time for Valentinesday. It was a bit of a meet cute. They meet after brenden is stabbed by saving someone in an alley and the other guy is the paramedic that gets him to the hospital and things go from there after and brenden is left with a phone number and things go from there. Overall I enjoyed the story.
I really great short. I enjoyed Ryan and Brendan’s story. It actually left me wanting more from them. It was an original story line to me. Great read.

Brendan is on his way home when he sees someone in trouble and goes to help. Brendan is stabbed and the attacker flees. Ryan is one of the paramedics that come to Brendan’s rescue. When Brendan is in the hospital recovering, Ryan stops by and asks him on a date. Brendan says not at this time and Ryan leaves his number for Brendan. Brendan is recovering from the stabbing and unable to work so he is very board. Brendan calls Ryan to see if he still wants to go out. Brendan and Ryan go on a few dates and get to know each other better. Will Brendan and Ryan be able to find the love they are both looking for?

This was a cute and romantic short love story. Both Brendan and Ryan weren’t looking to date anyone but with Valentine’s Day looming close, both sides of their loved ones want them to find someone to love. It was heartwarming to read how their happenstance meeting turned into romantic encounters.

Fairly short but very satisfying romance with a chef and a paramedic that answered the call. Well defined characters with a smooth story line that makes this a pleasant experience in new love.

This is a funny and sweet, low angst Valentine short story. When Brendan tries to help a guy in trouble, he ends up being stabbed for his efforts, but he meets a cute paramedic. Brendan’s not a big fan of Valentine’s Day or romance, but he gives Ryan a date and a chance. Will Cupid work his magic on the duo? This was a quick read, and I enjoyed the humor and *feels.*

Brendan had a bad breakup two years ago and has trust issue. Ryan lives life too the fullest. These two meet and Ryan might be what Brendan needs. I enjoyed this book.
3 half stars but only because of a few things it’s a short story I wish there had been more time spent on Ryan and Brendon as a couple and then there was the whole thing with Ryan and Adam I didn’t really get sure there friends who were together once but wouldn’t a simple phone call have worked and Adam mentioned Ryan’s nightmares I just don’t think enough detail was given about that. That being said I have read other books by this author that I enjoyed this is just a short but cute Valentine’s Day story that was just that not a!lot of drama but I wish here had been more. I would still encourage someone who is a fan to read the book. You have a gruff and serious chef Brendon who has not dated in a while and spends allot of time working who’s relationship with his father is just adorably. Brendon who while walking home saves someone only to get stabbed but his luck turned around when the cute but very flirty paramedic Ryan comes into his life. Ryan is sweet but a big kid who likes to tease his friends and coworkers he spends allot of time at his job too. But when he and his partner get a call he sees this really cute but grumpy guy with a knife in him he decides he has to get to know him and at first Brandon refuses him and with the help of Brendon’s father in the form of cupid helps things along by encouraging his son to call Ryan and give it a chance. Yes they get together would have liked and epilogue maybe in the form of them still together next Valentine’s day.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I have said this before in other reviews, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.
This story begins with Brendan walking along on a street in Chicago lamenting the cold. He’s a chef at a ritzy restaurant and this is his day off. He’s going grocery shopping and plans to go home to do laundry, you know, like everyone does when they work a lot and don’t have many days off. On his way back from shopping he stops when he hears something from the alley. He goes to investigate and finds a teen being held against the wall by a drunk. He decides to try to help the kid and gets stabbed in the process. Meanwhile, Ryan and his partner Marcus, paramedics, haven’t been called out for anything and are just hanging out. They do get called to go to the stab victim and find Brendan and the teen. Ryan spends some time trying to distract Brendan from his wound, so there is some flirting involved.
Marcus and Ryan manage to get Brendan to the hospital for treatment and since they are finished with that case, they are just hanging around again. Ryan is actually very interested in Brendan so he goes to Brendan’s room to see him. He meets Sean, Brendan’s father, and leaves his number with Brendan in case Brendan ever might want to go on a date or something. Thanks to his wound, Brendan now has a week off and he doesn’t know what to do with himself! After obsessively cleaning his apartment he finally bucks up and calls Ryan and they agree to go out on a date.
All right, I forgot to mention that it’s just before Valentine’s Day so they both have different feelings about that day. Also, both men have been burned before by people they’ve been with so they aren’t willing to rush into anything yet. I have never read anything from Romeo Alexander before so I wasn’t sure what I would be getting. This is such a cute story! Brendan and Ryan’s dates were fun and entertaining! Now I have to go check out more books from this author over on Amazon!
