Cupid meets her match in this sizzling new romantic comedy, perfect for fans of Christina Lauren, Sophie Kinsella, and Jasmine Guillory!
She can make anyone fall in love…
Poppy Hathaway is a professional Cupid. Need a love note, raunchy sext, or apology letter so epic that your other half will forget you hesitated a second too long when you asked, ‘Is my cousin hot’? She’s got you covered. … hot’? She’s got you covered. But when her most frequent bachelor client, the annoyingly charming (or is that charmingly annoying?) Dylan Griffin comes to her with a big new job, Poppy discovers that three little words can add up to one big complication…
He’s got his eyes on the (wrong) prize…
Dylan doesn’t want help seducing another swimsuit model (for once in his life). He wants Poppy’s help winning his high-school crush – and he’s prepared to make it worth her while. Throw in a summer Catskills trip that’s equal parts ‘Dirty Dancing’ and dirty-talking, and this Cupid is soon out of her depth – and head over heels with the last man she expected. But can she find the right words when it comes to her own heart? Or will this happily-ever-after be more of a romantic disaster?

A really enjoyable read, “Cupids Anonymous” had the right amount of wittiness and laugh-out-loud antics that kept me intrigued throughout this light-hearted and fun rom-com. The idea of a modern-day Cyrano was a clever choice, and provided a fresh and creative way of delivering this tale. I loved the irony of how Poppy played Cupid for her clients, but was not so lucky in love herself.
Listened on audio: Andi Arndt and Joe Arden were the perfect narrating duo, and their ability to capture all the humor and amusement made this a very entertaining audio experience.
I’ve read many of few of Lila Monroe’s romantic comedies, and I always enjoy them. She perfectly balances the heat in her stories with her wicked sense of humor and entertaining plots without heavy angst or drama resulting in light-hearted, easy-reading romances. Monroe’s writing style always manages to pull me right into the story with vivid descriptions and interesting details blended into imaginative storylines full of fun side characters. Her sexy romcoms are always an entertaining reading experience.
Cupids Anonymous is the first book in her new Cupids series. A modern-day Cyrano, the heroine, Poppy, helps communication-challenged romantics profess their love through the written word to their significant others. Anniversary poems, love letters, proposals, wedding toasts—Poppy has it covered. Dylan, a rich playboy hotel CEO, is her most active client.
Dylan and Poppy’s relationship has always been strictly professional, until one shot-filled, truth or dare inspired night culminating in a hot make-out session. With obvious chemistry now sparking between them, it makes the fact that Dylan has hired her to help him land the girl of his high-school-boyhood dreams a bit complicated. Filled with rapid-fire, witty banter and enough steam to fill a sauna, Poppy and Dylan’s relationship shifts from the professional to friends and then to something much more.
Full of humor and heat, Cupids Anonymous by Lila Monroe was an entertaining, amusing, pleasure to read, and it gets 4.5 smooches from me!

I have so many great things to say about this book but I need Poppy’s words to get it out right!
Oh Poppy and Dylan, how do I love thee….let me count the ways!
She is so smart and adorable and he’s so hot and sexy.
This book was so great! I went from smiling to giggling to outright laughing out loud (almost too loudly). It was so much fun! A definitely great beach read that you won’t be able to put down. Be sure to have plenty sunscreen and a cold beverage on hand!
A sweet, sexy, fabulously awkward and hilarious good time!!
Love is so awesome.
Dylan and Poppy…I’m still smiling. This couple was so funny together. I loved the easy witty banter and sexual chemistry these two had.
Cupid’s Anonymous was a feel good romance to makes you want to fall in love all over again.

5 Star Review of Cupids Anonymous by Lila Monroe
Lila Monroe had me from chapter one in this fun, quirky and oh so entertaining read about Poppy Hathaway and Dylan Griffin.
Every time I read a book from this author I
I think I have a new favourite and here I am thinking it again.
If you need a love letter written or a grovelling apology then Poppy is the woman to see. Dylan wants her help to woo his first love, the one who got away.
I loved Poppy and Dylan, both separately and particularly together. There was something about these two that got to me. They were so easy to like and relate to and it made for a great read. I loved the journey they travelled from employee, to friends and finally to lovers.
Lila Monroe is an author who knocks romantic comedy books out of the park. Her books are, sweet, spicy, romantic and so funny that you cannot help but fall in love with her characters and her stories. I never fail to smile when I read a Lila Monroe book.
Writer who writes romantic poetry and stories finds herself fascinated by best customer.
This story was so much fun. Poppy is smart, funny and sassy, so extremely likable. She has a cool but kind of strange job and doesn’t take herself too seriously. Dylan is the stereotypical playboy but he’s sweet and very down-to-earth despite being extremely wealthy. He’s her best client but they develop a mutual crush after an accidental, unplanned date night that devolves into an intense make out session.
There are a lot of variables surrounding their potential involvement. After all, Dylan is her best customer and they’ve become friends but he’s also super-hot and totally irresistible so what’s a girl to do? Poppy tries her best to get over it since he’s focused on his high-school crush, but it’s just not working.
This is a light, funny and sweet read that I enjoyed very much. It’s also my first book from Lila Monroe, but won’t be the last.
Great characters and enjoyable plot. Always enjoy a Lila Monroe book.
One of my new favorite authors! Her stories are original, always give you a laugh, and have great romance. This one is no exception!
A fun read! Wonderful characters and entertaining storyline.
Lots of funny action. Good characters and this was surely fun to read…but still had the right amount of romance and steam.
I love Lila Monroe! These characters are likable and I enjoy the witty banter.
A cute story of a “Cupid” finding her own love.
Cupid, is a con artist. You have to buy into the idea that people don’t feel conned when they find out that the love communications in words or deeds are not from the person claiming to love them but from a professional cyrano conning them. Ok, if you can be ok with that, then it is a really interesting story.
Several of the reasons this cupid is hired are sweet. It gets twisted when the billionaire wants to cause his old High School ‘dreamgirl’ to think he can be a suave romantic speaker. Then it gets twisted. The twist is fun.
Unique storyline. I loved it. New twists in a happily ever after book. Even Jasmine’s choice was mind blowing. The heart knows. Looking forward to reading Book 2.
Lila Monroe is one of the authors I turn to for romantic comedy. Read one of her books and you will too.
Cute and fun story.
This was a sweet and fun read/listen. It’s so enjoyable when the main couple already knows one another but haven’t necessarily thought about each other in a romantic way. Poppy and Dylan are well-developed (though the growth balance tips perhaps slightly more towards Poppy) and their story was low on angst and high on laughs, which is a quality I always appreciate.
Poppy has such a unique job; the fact that she is a modern, female Cyrano is just so refreshing. This is a genre that rarely takes risks with character professions; it was a nice change to read about a character pursuing a career that wasn’t a trope. Don’t get me wrong, I love some of the tried and true tropes, but so often characters, especially heroines, tend to do the same things for a living. This was a fun change up.
One thing I do wish is that there had been more chapters from Dylan’s p.o.v. This might explain why Poppy struck me as slightly more developed as a character. If we had more time with Dylan, we’d notice his development more. I also wanted more Dylan because that would mean more Joe Arden (). Who doesn’t want that?
Arden as Dylan and Andi Arndt () as Poppy were perfectly cast. An author can’t go wrong when two such talented narrators are bringing their characters to life.
Overall, I enjoyed this one, and I hope ‘Cupids Anonymous’ is the start of an entire new series from Lila Monroe. There are so many wonderful supporting characters here whose potential stories piqued my interest, from Poppy’s BFFs Natalie and April, to Dylan‘s assistant Lara. And the dynamic between everyone is just so joyful. The world that Monroe has created is so welcoming, and the characters so endearing, that it just makes you want to read and hear more. Well worth a listen.

Cupid for Hire by Lila Monroe
Rating: 4/5 stars
Poppy Hathaway is the sole entrepreneur of a Cyrano service. She offers a unique cupid service for lovelorn clients who want to woo and impress their intended target’s interests through love notes, gestures, proposals, and even apology endeavors with the ultimate goal of obtaining romance for their client.
Her business is slowly picking up, but her favorite client, Dylan, ensures she has a steady income stream from this passion of hers.
Dylan Griffin is a playboy, manwhore hotelier who keeps Poppy on his payroll with the number of women he tries to bag around the city. Finding out his high school crush, Jasmine, is back in town and single made him again seek Poppy’s help, but this time, he needs to pull everything in her arsenal since he feels that Jasmine’s “the one.”
Dylan and Poppy’s working relationship is a healthy one. They balance each other with their wit and humor. They are friends and poke fun at each other. Poppy brainstorms through Dylan’s requests, and there are the rescue moments that Dylan is happy to oblige.
They enter into a deal – one date with Jasmine, Poppy gets to have the office space that she needs to expand her business. It was perfect since Poppy knows Dylan’s track record and wants nothing to do with him aside from a professional one.
But the inevitable happens when Poppy starts learning how different Dylan is with regards to his “conquest” for Jasmine’s attention when she has invited to one of Dylan’s company soft openings outside the city to help him woo Jasmine. She discovers a man who is beyond what she expected and sees a side that Dylan was afraid to show to the world.
Motivated to get her business growing, Poppy spent time getting to know more about Jasmine to better capture her attention for Dylan. It was tearing Poppy since she finds them both a perfect fit, but at the same time, she started to “feel” things for him. Things get even complicated in the middle as more emotions become entangled.
As friends, Poppy and Dylan have their share of emotional “hung-ups.” Both of them slowly discover that their chemistry in many things seems to change, and they start emphasizing each other.
Will Poppy be able to realize that manwhore Dylan is all for show and what lies underneath is a keeper?
Will Dylan realize that what is in front of him is what he has been desperately seeking all these years?
Overall, Cupids Annonymous is an easy read with a few humorous moments. The author pulls out many great quotes from classic novels and poems that brought all the “feels” in this book!
I recommend this book to readers who love friends-to-lovers, lost love, and second chances. The banter and “back-and-forth” between Poppy and Dylan make the story relatable and a page-turner.
I love her books they are a bit quirky and always enjoyable. This was a great story and a wonderful read.
