Cupid meets her match in this sizzling new romantic comedy, perfect for fans of Christina Lauren, Sophie Kinsella, and Jasmine Guillory!
She can make anyone fall in love…
Poppy Hathaway is a professional Cupid. Need a love note, raunchy sext, or apology letter so epic that your other half will forget you hesitated a second too long when you asked, ‘Is my cousin hot’? She’s got you covered. … hot’? She’s got you covered. But when her most frequent bachelor client, the annoyingly charming (or is that charmingly annoying?) Dylan Griffin comes to her with a big new job, Poppy discovers that three little words can add up to one big complication…
He’s got his eyes on the (wrong) prize…
Dylan doesn’t want help seducing another swimsuit model (for once in his life). He wants Poppy’s help winning his high-school crush – and he’s prepared to make it worth her while. Throw in a summer Catskills trip that’s equal parts ‘Dirty Dancing’ and dirty-talking, and this Cupid is soon out of her depth – and head over heels with the last man she expected. But can she find the right words when it comes to her own heart? Or will this happily-ever-after be more of a romantic disaster?

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the chemistry between Dylan and Poppy.
I simply adored this book. I laughed to my heart’s content which one of the numerous reasons I love Ms. Monroe’s writing style. Her RomComs always makes me laugh and touch my heart and Cupids Anonymous doesn’t disappoint in any way. This storyline has just so many crazy factors that it just can’t help but be an outstanding read. We have a quirky young woman, Poppy, who believes in love and happy endings, so much so that she writes words for others who can’t express what they want to stay to the people they love or care about. But when Dylan, one of her repeat playboy type clients, asks her to help him woo his old high school crush the story takes off on a hilarious run. A run that includes a trip to the Catskills that turns Poppy’s world upside down and made this reader laugh and smile throughout.
Lila Monroe is one of the best at writing funny, romantic storylines in my humble opinion. I highly recommend Cupids Anonymous. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 stars
I really enjoyed Poppys tale of magical words that brought couples together and kept the love flowing for others. Poppy will have you laughing until you cry happy tears as she goes above and beyond for her clients with the use of only her words.
Poppy has been writing love notes since she was kid and has made a career out of it. She is your go to person for love letters, texts or whatever you need. She can easily get you out of the doghouse with the magic of her words. She’s met with a challenge from her most repeat client, Dylan. She has to win over his school crush with her words. She’s excellent at her job but her problem is she cant seem to find love of her own. However, she starts to see something that’s been right in front of her the whole time.
This book was such a cute and silly story. I loved Poppys job and you will too! If you need a little pick me up, you will really enjoy this sweet, funny, light hearted love filled book!
Great 5 star read for the summer!
Meet Poppy, she’s a Cyrano, she helps people put their thoughts about their love down on paper. She’s helped with break-ups, marriage proposals, you name it she’s there for you! When Dylan, he regular customer asks for help to woo his old high school crush, things change between these two, will it ruin their working relationship?
Follow their story in this great story, definite beach read so grab it asap!
This is the first book in Lila Monroe’s Cupid series of RomComs. Poppy Hathaway is a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac. If you need help writing a love letter, a poem to win over your Lady love, Poppy is your girl. One of Poppy’s most frequent customers is Dylan Calloway, Billionaire Playboy hotelier. Normally Dylan is a quick fling kind of guy, but when he sees Jasmine, his high school crush, he enlists Poppy to help win her over. While Poppy helps Dylan woo the beautiful Jasmine, she cannot fight her own attraction to Dylan. I loved both Dylan and Poppy. Poppy is sweet and a little goofy. Dylan comes across as a bit arrogant, but as the story unfolds, you realize he is great guy who is insecure like most people. This story has a lot of laughs and is the perfect summer read! I was given an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
Cupids Anonymous by Lila Monroe was a fabulously funny story. The main characters gave me a heart-warming feeling whilst reading their story, even if Dylan started out as a bit of a ladies man. He soon changed his tune though, once he opened his eyes and saw the real Poppy, not the Cyrano to his love life.
From the outset, their chemistry was undeniably hot and only got hotter the longer they spent time in each other’s company. It’s filled with sexy innuendo, sassy banter and two people just made for each other.
Except, Poppy isn’t the woman that Dylan was meant to be lusting after. He’d set his sights elsewhere, but fate and time away from outside influences helped him see the truth.
Poppy knows she shouldn’t be looking at her client the way she does, and if not for that one electrifying kiss she might not. She’s been hired to help Dylan shmooze his next conquest, but, what if she wants to be that conquest. And a whole lot more?
I got all the happy feels with this story, it’s dynamics were spot on, from the interactions of the cast, main and secondary alike, to the small amount of angst, I just wanted to keep reading. This is one for a long, hot weekend read. Grab your copy today.
Engaging, fun read. Interactions between good friends, leads to romance and an HEA. A Cyrano to lovers story, plenty of humor, angst and steam. Put this on your read list.
What an absolutely entertaining book!
It was incredibly fun reading it and the banter was hilarious at times!
I loved the general premise of the story and thought the characters had great friendships which made me want to be friends with them!
I really genuinely liked Poppy, her ability to give her clients the romance they need in their lives! Such an interesting job I think!
Dylan, that man, hotelier, charming and a bit of a player but also rather endearing! When he asks Poppy to help him get a certain woman to fall in love with him, needless to say they both don’t see what’s really going to happen!
I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book! It was lighthearted and easy to read and made my day!
Fun, Fun, Fun! Hilarious, snarky, and LOL perfection! Poppy and Dylan were so fresh, everything executed with perfect timing which had me laughing or smiling through the entire book.
Poppy’s job is a professional purveyor of the written word, or a Cyrano. She can write up a love poem, a juicy text, a memorable wedding toast, or even an apology love note. Her latest job has her tied to Dylan, a chronic manwhore or as she lovingly refers to-
“my current gig as Dylan’s literary gigolo”.
Ah, yes, Dylan. A man who is and has currently and frequently used Poppy’s services because he likes the ladies and ladies like him. However, his current infatuation is proving to be a tougher nut to crack. An old high school crush. This requires Poppy’s services twenty-four/seven.
Plot twist…
Did someone say, douchey ex-boyfriend?
Poppy may know just what to say to win over someone else’s heart, but she doesn’t exactly know what to say when it comes to her own.
Dylan and Poppy both seem to be up a creek, in a canoe, with no paddle in this new situation. Who will come to their rescue? Maybe in this instance no words spoken are just better…let’s leave them alone in the canoe, floating up a creek…for some alone time.
Cupids Anonymous is so much fun, I dare you not to enjoy this ROTFLOL hilarious new romantic comedy!
What do you get when you put a modern-day Cyrano with an incorrigible, unrepentant playboy and add in a metric ton of chemistry? If it’s a Lila Monroe book, you get a hilarious, steamy story that squeezes your heart while it keeps you in stitches.
Poppy Hathaway has made a career of penning the words of adoration and devotion that those in love are unable to express. She has two rules in her business: never take credit for your work and never fall for a client. Dylan Calloway is a client. A very wealth hotelier who changes women the way the rest of the world changes socks, and he’s the absolute last person Poppy should be falling for.
Once again, I find myself crawling out from under a rock because this is my first book by this author. My only regret is that I didn’t find her sooner, because this delightfully heart-felt yet hysterically funny read is only the first of many Monroe books I see in my future.
Poppy and Dylan drew me in and held me captive from the first page to the last. Both of these characters are admirable and endearing, but I think it’s their hint of vulnerability that sealed the deal for me. Their story is sassy, snappy, snarky, sarcastic and smexy so, if you want a book that will leave you with a happy sigh and a great big grin, run to the 1-Click button and start reading today!
*I reviewed an early edition of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide feedback and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source.
I know I’ve probably already said this before in one of my many ARC’s from Lila Monroe, but this has gotta be my favorite! I remember reading an excerpt at the end of Noah and Eve’s story and I have been waiting in dire anticipation ever since!
I loved it! I enjoyed tagging along Poppy and Dylan. It was sweet and funny and inspiring. I didn’t want it to end! It was definitely a mood-booster and a welcome distraction from reality.
Both main characters are relatable… the pacing was great… the evolvement from employee to friends to lovers was natural… and there was a good and thrilling build-up between the two. It was unique in it’s own way… Truly a romantic comedy at it’s finest. I wish there was a longer epilogue but thats the romantic sap in me talking.
To the fans of RS Grey and Lauren Blakely, this is the book to pick up next.
