I loved this book. It continues where the last one left off and its all go in Withernsea with love matches, friendship and surprises and not everything is as it seems. Trying to get their new venture off the ground Samara, Max and Jess find its not as easy as it seems. With cupid trying to give a helping hand, Rebecca up to her old tricks, Max just being Max, Samara having to deal with all the backlash and Ebony popping in a few times with visions just to mix it up a bit we find ourselves in the midst of all the chaos and loving every minutes of it. We also get to see the rest of the gang and its always fun when they pop in. I loved this story, I loved the characters and I loved the whole series.
Favorite Quotes:
My daughter calls him Sir Loins… Because she says he’s a prime bit of beef.
Bartholomew glared at Max, who raised both eyebrows… “No-one calls him Bart.” I informed him. “Because his surname is Simpson.”
I walked down to the next block where my pet-grooming parlour was, ‘Short Bark and Sides’. I did groom any pets booked in by prior appointment but the business was mainly dog grooming, and the local werewolf pack who were too hairy for a normal barber.
Wait until they have teenagers. My daughter was only one for part of a year but I’d have sold her given half a chance.
“I just saved the life of a cat… and her six little kittens.” “Oh my god. You amazing man. We’ll have to call you the Pussy Master.” “I already had that title. Let’s add Supervet to the mix.”
“Tell me. Tell me what that phone call was about. I can smell gossip, it’s like pheromones to me.” He sniffed the air and went, “Mmmmmm.”
My Review:
I enjoy and admire Andie M. Long’s flippant sense of humor, she is brimming with cheeky impudence and her tales are a fun read regardless of the genre. Cupid and Psych was an easy, quick, and amusing read with a full cast of quirky characters and fast-paced yet engaging storylines. I picked up two new terms for my Brit Word List with: carvery – which according to Wikipedia is a meal featuring freshly sliced cooked meat served in a pub or a restaurant; and cut-glass accent – which is the speech pattern heard in the rare air of the UK elite.
Life in Withernsea is never dull. Samara and Max are on Cupid probation as they work to match ‘undateables’ and provide after care for past matches. Rebecca is tasked with making the matches but the friction persists with Samara and Max. Jessica is excited about her new position until she learns that her ex-husband, Lachlan, is now based on the Withernsea police force. With Cupid as her father-in-law, well, you know this isn’t a coincidence. Hang on as our fun and exciting crew tackle their new jobs head on and in Withernsea, well, nothing ever goes as planned. Love every moment I spend with this amazing cast of characters. There is so much love with this unique group of friends and their ability to embrace the chaos is refreshing. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Cupid and Psych by Andie M Long a five-star read you will fall in love with. This is the second novel in the Cupid Inc books and the story of Withernsea grows with each instalment. I wasn’t a massive fan of Cupid in the first story, but he won me round in this one. The love in this story is spreading like jam on scone at afternoon tea with a sprinkle of unicorn glitter to make it extra. This was a great story, filled with great characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, but will they be able to fall in love with each other? Fate plays her part in this story and I can’t help but wonder what else she has in store. This author has shown us again what a compelling writer of great comedy and romance she is.
