If you’d asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders — the Adept — was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it. That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of … reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled … except for the cupcake part. That’s a universal truth.

Liked it so much I bought the series…
really enjoyed this, had to purchase the whole series
This is a three book bundle.
Book one is really good. However the major story lines are not completed.
Book two – At the end of book two it finally resolves one of the two major plotlines for book one. It also contains unnecessary overwritten romance scenes that would have been better as a sentence or two, and let the reader fill in the rest, …
I could not finish this book. It was simplistic and not interesting.
So much fun. But now I’m craving the cupcakes. Reallllly craving the cupcakes.
Loved the characters and the story line. Had to buy the trilogy because I got so wrapped up in the story and characters I had to find out how it all ended. Very enjoyable!
I really, really wanted to like this series, because the first two books started off so well. But overt misappropriation of Native American culture was a big turn off for me, and book 3 starts with our MC having undergone ridiculously high powered changes in both her abilities and personality that I found too hard to swallow. My advice is to read …
I have really enjoyed the storyline. The characters are creative and fun. I enjoy books about the Supernatural and this book has some good twists and storyline in a lot of creativity. I would recommend this book
I enjoyed the creativity the author put into the cupcakes and that the characters were just discovering their abilities, which is a convention for this genre. The characters were memorable for me and I read so much that saying the characters were memorable actually means a lot. The book was well-written with a good pace. I recommend this book.
I look forward to the next book in the series
Bought the second book!
4 stars because our hero(ine) is remarkably obtuse in book one. I audibly groaned and mentally slapped her op-side the head (not PC/ just frustrated; LOL). Some misdirection, good characterizations and a beginning of fleshing out her support crew for the future. Witch crafty wiccan spells, investigations and dark arts bringing about some gnarly …
One of my favorite authors. Loved this book.
I loved it and kept ordering more in the series, couldn’t put it down! My housework / paperwork were completely ignored and I stayed up late, something I don’t do!
A fun read
awesome read!
It’s great! I loved it, it introduces you the great world of the adept and the dowser series. It has this storyline that it’s always beautifully described and it feels like you are physically in that world. I’ve made some of the cupcakes mentioned din the book and they are as good as they sound. You can not go wrong with this book or series.
Fun book
Wow! Loved the story and the characters. Stayed up late to finish the book. I couldn’t put it down. Fantastic!
I found this book to be awesome. I really really really want to read book two.
Even though I guessed the bad guy, I still felt it was well written and I did have a suprise as well as the bad guy during the twist reveal.
I enjoy the charcters of the back up crew and i feel for this being book one in the series it is a perfect kick off. Allowing …
