Trixie, Sally, and Cora are enjoying the success of their bookstore/coffee shop/wine bar, Read Wine, and planning for Cora’s upcoming wedding when they start receiving hang up calls. At first they chalk it up to a wrong number but soon the caller reveals himself. It’s Stephen making good on his threat. He wants his money back. The fact that the police confiscated it doesn’t matter to him. He … wants it back and has given them a deadline. A deadline they need to meet before anyone else ends up dead.
Finding out Cora’s fiancé isn’t who he says he is a shock but his alter ego might come in handy getting Stephen to leave them alone. But with this much money at stake will he? Or are they in danger?

could not put this one down! this had it all! mystery, intrigue and a handsome man! another page turner by L.C. Turner!
It’s so good, really good! Really well-written. A lot is going on! One of those things was maybe less cozy, more hard crime, but the story is so good. A fast-paced story, never a dull moment! And I really liked Jonathan, what a guy!
The last story of the Trixie Pristine Series ends with a lead-in to the next series of stories. It’s fast-paced and a quick read. It’s not easily predictable and keeps you interested to the end. All-in-all a nice collection. Enjoy!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Cupcakes and Killers is the third book in the Read Wine Bookstore Cozy Mystery series and I just was thrilled to get to return to this world and it’s amazing characters. This book was just so good and I just lost myself in the story. I will most definitely be reading more books by this wonderful author.
The lady proprietors of Read Wine Book and Wine shop have their hands full with their latest mysteries.
Cora has revealed lots of fun surprises- and a stalker who has not gone away. If her protective Johnathan is unable to persuade the stalker to stay away, we might see more trouble ahead from him.
Scary Stephen keeps taunting the ladies for turning in the money he stole from the Maria bad guys. How close will he get, and whom might he harm along the way?
Trixie herself is pining a bit for her Jack. A bit of delusion on her part there. Not a relationship that just drifted apart. His work as a defense attorney for some dangerous people makes him not safe for Trixie and her son to be around- a bad investment in life choices since he never warned her of the danger until forced to by circumstances in the last book.
Hopefully creative Sally will not give in and get back with her ex Tom.
Meanwhile, a murder and other mayhem pops up to keep the ladies busy.
More life and challenges ahead!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout. I read it and most of this series on Kindle Unlimited. I own or borrowed many series on Kindle and KU, as I am a big fan.
Hope you enjoy as much as I do!
Trixie has had calls which she is sure are from Steven, who is trying to coerce money from her. Trying to keep her mind occupied and on her business, she serves a cupcake to a customer. He abruptly dies. To top that off, her friend, Cora, has a dangerous stalker. Cupcakes and Killers is a riveting mystery from Laina Turner. Her characters have come alive, which enriches these novels. I recommend this book and suggest reading from the beginning.

This book concluded the storyline from the prequel and the other books in the series. The ladies have expanded their circle and their sleuthing talents in this installment of the series. The ladies have expanded their circle as well.

Final Part of This Trilogy
This is the third in the series. I do not know if there will be more episodes. These books do not stand alone very well. Book 2 ends with a cliffhanger and book 3 takes off on that with no explanation in true cliffhanger fashion. This trilogy reads like a single novel instead of the 3 short novellas it has been released as. The over all story arc is okay as are all of the plot elements. I received this ARC for free from Booksprouts and this is my honest review.
This series gets better with each book! 3 friends have opened their own little business of a bookstore, coffee shop and wine bar. Even after a rocky start to get their business off the ground business is now going great. Love the series, the characters and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Trixie, Sally, and Cora find themselves in another madcap adventure. When hang up calls start coming into Read Wine’s phone line at first they think it is a prank but soon find out the Stephen is back in town and wants the money the police have confiscated. He doesn’t care how Trixie does it, but he wants the money or something will happen to someone she loves.
This is the third book in the Read Wine Cozy Mystery series and it is just as entertaining as the first two. It is filled with adventure, mystery, humor, romance, and a bit of suspense. A perfect little read for a long weekend or an afternoon by the pool.

This series just keeps getting better and better. The more I learn about the characters the more I am drawn in.These stories are well written and the characters are very believable. I like the idea of a bookshop especially as they are all disappearing these days. I love how the mysteries are getting more and more in depth. This group of women are great and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Well done! I liked that this story gave closure to the previous book in the series. Once again, a well written story with interesting characters. Look forward to reading more books by the author.
