One night I was out with my girls enjoying a much needed ladies night while wondering if one more dirty martini would push me over the edge. The next thing I knew, I was in the club’s bathroom listening to a woman screaming, “No,” and a man’s voice growling, “I know you want it.”
That asshole picked the wrong restroom, in the wrong club, at the wrong time.
Little did I know the asshole was … the asshole was Cade’s VP, and although we saved that woman from his clutches that night, she’d be found floating in a motel pool a month later.
Running a PI firm is a lot harder than taking pictures for one, especially when your professional life spills over into your personal one. I’m going through cupcakes like our new puppy goes through piddle pads, and if I’m not careful there’s bound to be a Cupcake Overload.
WARNING: THIS BOOK CONTAINS FOUL LANGUAGE, SEX, SOME VIOLENCE, AND SHENANIGANS. IF NONE OF THAT BOTHERS YOU, GRAB A CUPCAKE AND READ ON!

This is a continuation of Lila’s adventures as a PI and Cade’s girlfriend. Lila and her girls stumble on a woman about to be raped in a club bathroom and it puts them smack in the middle of a murder case.
Book 2 again has it’s light and funny right along with the grittier side of life. Lila is learning to date again and is falling for Cade. He is protective and mysterious because of his part in the MC. Lila’s girls have her back and jump in to help solve the mysteries. I am really enjoying this fun, easy to read series.
Oh Delilah! Her adventures, in love and investigating, are a delight. The scrapes and jams she gets into can be scary but I love her tenacity. Her love for cupcakes keeps me perpetually hungry!
I was finally able to get the next part….
Oh my so much fun. I love this series. I think it’s a different narrator, but she’s just as good.
I’d definitely will be listening to it again.
This audio book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author or narrator and I provided this unbiased voluntary review.
Cupcake Overload (Delilah Horton #2) was another great read by Bethany Lopez. Lila spent a much needed ladies night out with her friends. She never expected that the night out would end with a woman in the club’s bathroom listening to a woman tell a man no, while he demands that she wants it. She never would have imagined that the man would be her boyfriend Code’s VP. But a month late she is found dead in a motel pool. Lila runs a PI firm and has to find out what happened to fix both her personal and professional life. I enjoyed reading this story and can’t wait to read more by Bethany Lopez.
Another cute read in the continuation of this series. Here we see Lila take over being a full time PI. We see her and Cade get into their first real disagreement where he leaves for several days with no contact (yeah he didn’t handle that well). She looks into a case that involves murder and Cade’s VP Sledge in the MC. Which is was causes there argument. They eventually get past it and she works on the case to clear Sledge. It all works out in the end. It ends with Lila, Cade and the twins heading to Hawaii to meet his family and Lila is a nervous wreck. Can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.
Second book in the series and the author hit it out of the park! The characters are developing more and the storyline is funny, loving, steamy and intriguing. I definitely got hooked once I start reading and just couldn’t put it down until finished it. Excited for the next addition to the series!
No such thing as too many cupcakes! I enjoyed keeping up with this group of girl friends. They are the perfect group of sweet and kick ass-ery. All those cupcakes sound delicious, just like Mr Alpha male CADE!
This is the second book in the cupcake series. Bethany Lopez is a new to me author and this is the first audio narration I’ve listened to by Ava Zilver. I love this series, and its progression so far. Lila is recently divorced mother of twins, after he divorce she started working for a P.I. that left her his business and home after his death. Now Lila is working her first solo case and it could get between her and her new boyfriend Cade. I love that this is a suspense series but is still pretty funny and an easy listen. Lila is a great lead character, quirky and strong willed. Plus I highly sympathise with her cupcake addiction.
Cupcake Overload picks up exactly where Always Room for Cupcakes leaves off continuing the story of Lila and Cade. Lila has taken over Moose’s PI business. When a young woman she saved from being raped in a bathroom is found dead, the investigation quickly turns to the VP of Cade’s MC. Lila is then hired by the VP to find the real killer while he maintains that he’s innocent.
I enjoyed this book much more than the 1st in the series. The story seemed to flow a little better, and while it was still quick it was all there, it didn’t feel like there were any holes. I really liked that it started literally where the 1st one ended, in the same club scene, and didn’t immediately move on to a different couple. Cade and Lila’s relationship isn’t all rainbows and unicorns either, which I personally enjoy seeing in books because, that’s real life. Lila also decided to call her ex-husband by his first name instead of the nickname she gave him in the 1st book which was a relief. Where this book lost a star for me was more of kids masturbating. I did appreciate that Eric talked to Lila about their son and what was going on, but didn’t feel it was a necessary part of the story, it showed them as a united front I guess. At the end (possible spoiler) when Lila was running after the kid who stole something from the book store and caught him masturbating, felt wrong again. I believe he’s older (teens maybe) but still, pick something else, although, I did find it funny it was historical romance he was using. Overall I did enjoy this book, but you do really need the 1st so you’re not lost in this one. The narrator did a great job, it was easy to follow the dialogue, her accents were great, I would definitely listen to something else she’s done.
This is book two in the Cupcake series and man oh man do I love this series. Nope it is not about baking or cooking but cupcakes and one nice big beautiful cake is featured in this book …in case you are wondering. So, here is the scoop on Cupcake Overload…nope you do not have to have read Always Room for Cupcakes to enjoy this fun filled romantic mystery BUT if you really want to get the ~FULL BETHANY LOPEZ~ Experience than I highly recommend that you read book 1 before reading this one.
In this book we get to know Cade our hawt MC biker and his Old Lady the PI Lila a whole lot better. The strong and forceful women in this town show up and it made me proud. As in real life things are not always what they seem at first glance and one has to search to get the truth. Good thing that Lila is a PI, although she is a new one at it. We get to see growing pains and new love all around and of course a well written story and mystery. I am looking forward to reading the third book and wondering should I swim into this late at night??? Or wait until daybreak?
