From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone in her Everyday Heroes world that proves true love will always stand the test of time. “I hate you. I never want to see you again.”Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a … third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.
Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.
But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.
What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.
That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.
Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.
I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

I haven’t read much by K Bromberg, although I have to say that I really enoy her storytelling.
Cuffed is the story of Grant and Emmy, childhood friends who are tied together in an unimaginable way. Years after being separated, they meet again, although it is not an easy thing to do, especially for Emerson. But their tie is undeniable, and Grant needs to know that she is okay, that despite everything, she is happy.
I absolutely loved Grant! I thought his character was so strong, and felt so real. Emerson was a complex character, and while at times she drove me crazy, I could understand it because of her background.
I look forward to reading more from K Bromberg!
This story broke my heart. Emmy had such a tramatic past but she tried to move on and live her life. Grant was her best friend as a child and knew that something happened but had no idea how bad her childhood was.
Grant is an all around good guy and I was rooting for him from the beginning. I hated that Emmy was always running away but with her past I couldn’t really blame her. This book made me laugh and want to cry. Another amazing book by K. Bromberg.
I found Cuffed to be an emotional read, with the hotness we know and love from Kristy too (of course) I loved Devi and Leo, as well as the other Malone brothers Grayson and Grady and can’t wait to read their stories! I loved the flashbacks and the memories of the childhood friendship and how this played into the current story. However one thing kind of felt a little pointless as it wasn’t really expanded on and that was the rivalry between Grant and a fellow cop, with an eluded to history involving their fathers. Maybe it will be covered more as the Malone brothers story develops; but it just read as if it would play more of a part in the storyline yet it never really went anywhere. I enjoyed Cuffed, it was well written and the characters felt real and likeable, a good amount of humour thrown in and the storyline touching. Kristy’s authors note at the end is a heartfelt tribute to the story.
This is the first book by K. Bromberg and the only thing I know to say is I wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to read this book!! When you read this book you immediately fall in love with the characters. I loved this book and I can not wait to read more!!
This is one tough subject to read.. its raw.. hurt..layers of emotion for its to heal…Grant and Emmy made a promise and its broken.. its very hard to imagine .. when your past came back to haunt.. layer of persuasion.. nothing less from Kristi.. what a strong book
Joanna Blake does not disappoint with this heartfelt, HOT, story. Connor DeWitt, FBI agent and Casey Jones, hmmm…if that is her real name. This is a fast paced love story with all the sexy bits that will keep you up reading late into the night. The underlying plot has twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Who is the evil, commiting the gruesome murders. Joanna Blake is worth the cliffhanger. Love this book so much. Ms. Blake writes believable characters you would want to know. The story continues with Mean Machine, The Untouchables MC
This book, once again Bromberg emotionally rings me out with her story! I cried! Something I should expect with all of her books it seems. But this one had such an intense back story, and such a heart-breaking case that Grant is on as a cop. Of course his case is similar to what Emmy’s past was, the thing that sent her away from her friend Grant. Emmy fought so hard against getting back with him, and it was hard not to empathize with her and her past. But it was so wonderful to see how hard Grant fought for her. There was something at the very beginning that I just knew would come into play later in the book to cause an obstacle for them. I learned a new term for friends with benefits, banging buddies, hadn’t heard that one before! Since I’d already read/listened to book 2, I already knew Grady, but I kinda want to go back and reread/listen to hear things that might make more sense after getting this first one read. And while there was a short time in my life I thought I’d like to skydive, I’ve since decided I don’t want to. But then, the rush that they talk about afterwards? Well, I kinda want to experience it just once!
I love that there’s 3 brothers so we’re getting more of the Malone men. Thank you! What another great and emotional story. Emerson and Grant are just perfect for each other. Grant is just so dang sweet and caring, I loved him. Emerson has gone through so much that she was not on board with Grant, at all. It took some time, but his sexy self got through her rules and into her heart. Man oh man, this one had me feeling a wee bit emotional a time or two. I always joke about my black heart but I do love a great book that makes me feel those yucky emotions. I always remember those books. Anyhoo, I can’t wait to read more about the other brothers!
I loved this book. The narrators did a perfect job. This was a beautiful love story. It was so full of emotion and done wonderfully.
Oh my this book did me in! You know those reads that suck the air from your lungs and have you gasping for air…… yep that’s this book. There was so much emotions being pulled from me while reading that I couldn’t put this book down until I saw those two little words “The End”. Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster that is filled with heartache, blame and regret but also forgiveness, passion and so much LOVE!!!
Loved! Loved! Loved this book! Cuffed was a heartwarming story that just touches your soul! This was my first book by K. Bromberg and I’m so in love with her writing. She can get your blood pumping and rip your heart out in the same chapter! I got really emotional with this book, the storyline took me down a road I was not expecting and Bromberg did such an amazing job with shedding light on the topic. I loved how deeply Grant cared for Emmy, and that he never gave up on her. I also loved their fight for control. It was a sizzling, hilarious, emotional read for me, one that sends a message and gives hope. I loved the character relationships, the Malone brothers, Desi and Emmy. I’m very excited that this is a series because I am so loved the Malone brothers and can’t wait to see what comes next. Head up, Wings out.
Another job well done by Kristy!
This is the first book in the Everyday Hero’s journey and it’s going to be hard for the other Malone men to top Grant! He is so incredibly sweet and caring. It’s hard not to hurt when you hear stories like Emerson but it makes you feel better knowing she had someone like Grant and the Malones. I love how Kristy writes characters that make you want to be a better person and I think this story really does that. It’s emotional and inspiring and fun!
“Head Up.Wings Out”
It was a great read and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
Emmy Reeves suffered a brutal childhood that saw her taken away from her home town and friends and put her and her mum on a gypsy like pathway growing up, Now Emmy has moved back to her childhood home of Sunnyville to try and settle down and put down some roots. Emmy has always loved the more exciting things in life and nothing clears her head more than jumping out of a plane and letting the wind blow away her troubles, that’s why she want’s to buy the local skydiving school, after being away from Sunnyville for the last twenty years Emmy finds not much has changed until she bumps into her old BFF Grant Malone who has certainly grown into a handsome, sexy police officer. This is a story of two childhood friends who were torn apart by brutality and try to reconnect now as adults. I loved it, the characters were exciting and lovable, the story line was interesting and very thought provoking and the sex was very hot. Just remember when your reading this K.Bromberg book to keep your head up and wings out.
5 Head Up, Wings Out Stars!!! Another phenomenal read by K. Bromberg. Heartbreaking yet inspiring, feeling a wide spread of emotions from devastation to swoon, from laughing out loud to damn he’s sexy and everything in between. A read not to take lightly but to give hope that there are good people, kids and adults, in the world ready to do the right thing no matter the consequences that may last a life time. That love is more powerful than evil. Add in a hot as heck and the sweetest cop you’ll ever read about… and handcuffs, need I say more…… I highly recommend this must read.
I rarely know what to expect when going into a K.Bromberg novel, but over time, I have come to know without a doubt, that I WILL get a novel packed full with passion, love, and meaning. CUFFED had that and then some! Kristy truly knows how to write a remarkable romance!
At 8 years old, Emerson “Emmy” and Grant “Phony Maloney” make a pinky promise. “You have to pinky promise, Grant Malone, that if I tell you this secret, you won’t tell another person, ever, ever, ever. If you do, I’ll never be your friend again. Cross your heart and hope to die.” –Emmy. Emmy confides in Grant because he’s her best friend, neighbor and the only she trusts. She can no longer hold in her painful secret. Well some secrets can’t be kept, especially when that secret could hurt someone. Grant breaks his pinky promise to Emmy. “I hate you. I never want to see you again.” –Emmy. Those are the last words he hears before she leaves his life for good. Fast forward 20 years, Grant is a police officer. He hasn’t seen, nor heard from Emmy since that day, and now fate has them bumping into each other while he’s on duty. Grant has not forgotten his childhood friend and has always wondered what became of her. Emmy clearly has not forgotten Grant either, or the secret he never kept. Emmy’s always been in the back of Grant’s mind, but now that she’s standing right in front of him, he can’t deny his ever present curiosity with her and also, the obvious attraction between them. Now that Emerson is living back in his hometown, Grant is determined to get back the relationship they once had. He realizes real quickly though that Emmy isn’t who she used to be and is very guarded. Grant is determined to break down her walls and get her to open up to him and get her to face her past. He’s going to prove to her she’s beautiful on the inside AS WELL the outside. But of course, Emerson isn’t going to give in that easily, that’s not the type of woman she is. What with the past like hers, opening up and feeling is nearly impossible for her to do. As much as Grant pushes, she’s going to pull away just as hard. “Did you really think I was going to let you go without a fight? I’ve lost you once before, Em. You’re out of your mind if you think I’m going to let it happen again?” –Grant.
This is quite an emotional and powerful start to Kristy’s EVERYDAY HEROES series! It is, in a sense, a “second-chance” romance, along with a story line that centers on “friends to lovers”, but I have to say, it is SO MUCH more than just those 2 categories. CUFFED is packed full of raw feeling, real personal obstacles, consuming passion, and undeniable love. Grant and Emmy’s story was completely unique in its entirety. Their story took me on a tender and moving journey that I did not expect. I applaud Kristy for breaching this topic in a novel and doing, what I think, was a phenomenal job of expressing what would be going through someone’s mind while enduring what Emmy did. I can imagine that Emmy’s character has the potential to resonate with readers/fans all around the world. Her strength and sense of hopelessness made her relatable and awe inspiring. She was such a resilient character that had me feeling her pain and hopes right along with her. I wanted Grant to show her the beauty in herself and he did just that! #HeadUpWingsOut
This novel was about overcoming your past and learning to cope. No matter the scars of the past, you are beautiful inside AND out. CUFFED made me believe in forgiveness and allowing yourself the help of others. Sometimes you do need a hero to save you. This novel also has PLENTY of swoon moments! #OfficerSexy. You will fall in love with Grant, right along with Emmy, I know I did. All I have to say is, don’t judge a book by its cover because there is SO MUCH MORE than sexy abs in here (but don’t worry, there are plenty of abs as well *wink*). A MUST read! Now, I’m anxious to see where Kristy takes the next 2 Malone men’s stories. Grant’s brothers (Grady and Grayson) will be getting spinoff novels next. All 3 stories are standalones, but should be read in order.
5 stars!

I enjoyed this book. I loved Grant as a character and I felt for how he carried the memory of his and Emmys past with him. It was quite funny watching them interact at first and the ways they would rile each other up.
The glimpses into the past made it easy to start filling in blanks as to what had happened. Grant and Emmy work so well together in this, even if does drag on a bit and take a while to get to the point. That said, considering the storyline, I can understand the need to drag it out and give the character time to start to come to terms with things.
I like the secondary characters in this book as well, particularly Desi, she was hilarious and I hope we see more of her in the future books in this series. The Malone family also seems like quite a close knit family, so I know the next two books, which will be about Grants brothers, should be very interesting.
This book was emotional and funny and heartwarming and sad all at the same time. I know that there are unfortunately many Emmy’s and Keely’s out there in the world, but I hope they have a Grant there to save them and be the start of making a difference for them.
I would also suggest reading the author note at the end of the book, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Cuffed is the ultimate love story.
At eight years old Emmy told Grant a secret, a flip your world upside down secret. He promised he wouldn’t tell but some promises are meant to be broken.
Twenty years later they come face to face and as much as Grant wants to pickup where they left off as children Emerson can’t look at him, the past, the nightmares, the broken promise have altered her life, made her unable to trust and contantly pushing people in her life away.
Grant refuses to give up on her, he vows to get under her skin and keep her in his life, he just had no idea what he was up against.
I adore Grant, I have a thing for cops but he’s such a good man with the patience of a saint.
And Emerson, Lord I went back an forth with her, I understood her pain having been in her shoes but maybe that made me more judgemental of her behavior. She was great an then she’d do something that made me want to curse her, back an forth, up an down, finally she got her act together and made me proud.
In the end this was an epic love story, with some seriously messed up parts but epic all the same.
This is the first in the Everyday Heroes series featuring the three Malone brothers: Grant, Grady and Grayson and after reading Cuffed I’m more than ready to experience the next brother!!
Cuffed left me an emotional mess. There are not enough stars for how I feel about this book. Cuffed simply made me feel. I laughed, cried and cheered. Plan on keeping a box of tissues handy. This is absolutely one of my favorite reads for 2017.
Emmy Reeves had been living a gypsy life with her mother until she returned to the town she left many years ago after a broken pinky promise. Now she back reestablishing her life. She’s hoping to purchase a skydiving school and set down roots. Her plans never included him, Grant Malone. The boy who was her best friend until he told her secret.
Grant is shocked that Emmy, his childhood best friend, is back in town. He told her secret and she left. It’s been twelve years and this time he can’t let her go, not without a fight.
Emmy and Grant fight for some semblance of control. Emmy prefers to be just friends with benefits but Grant wants more. Emmy begins to remember things from her past that she tried to keep stored away. Grant provokes feelings that Emmy keeps locked away. My heart broke for Emmy and her struggle. She’s fighting more than one demon at a time. The story has very poignant moments that evoke a mix of emotions . I loved it! I can’t recommend this story enough. 5 Stars!
K.Bromberg never fells me I love how her books have a real-life feel to them I have read every one of her books and it is so hard to say which one is my favorite I just love her Writing.
This book is emotional and sexy, Grant and Emmy will steal your heart. Fantastic book and worth 5 stars!
