From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new standalone in her Everyday Heroes world that proves true love will always stand the test of time. “I hate you. I never want to see you again.”Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a … third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.
Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.
But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.
What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.
That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.
Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.
I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Totally emotionally wrecked after reading this story. It was such a good story. K Bromberg knocked it out of the park on this book. It just pulled at my heart strings, it stirred up feelings in me that made me tear up with overwhelming sadness. I had to put my kindle down and take a breather a couple of times. I know, I know its just a story, but it really drew me in and at times I felt like I was going through all of it with them. I haven’t read a book like this in so long it took my breath away.
Gonna read the rest of the series. Great read!
Overall an extremely good book. Pleasantly surprised at the depth of the characters and the way the author handled a very traumatic situation. Not for readers who have triggers regarding child abuse though.
This book was so much more than I expected. I went into cuffed blind. I thought it would be light-hearted sexy read that I desperately needed after reading a dark one. I was wrong.
I can’t even begin to explain the emotions this book conjured in me was it sexy, absolutely. But it was so much more. I don’t want to say too much because ellipses spoilers, but this was an emotional read for me as well. Instead I will focus on what I felt as I read.
From the first page, I was captivated I could not put this book down the characters took on a life of their own and I felt like I was right there with them through it all. I love the banter between Leo and Emerson. I laughed out loud at some of the back and forth between Emerson and grab. And don’t even get me started on Brady, Grayson and Grant together! I will be anxiously awaiting Grant’s Brothers books.
It touches on the topic that is talked about and Whispers. And that monsters often walk in the daylight and aren’t always perceived as such.
The life of a cop, with what they see and deal with daily, can be tough.
I absolutely caps loved uncapped Desi! Seriously, everyone should have a friend like this. She was hilarious and loyal to a fault.
K Bromberg, you are an amazing author and this book, reading the author note, shows me that you are also amazing person. Heads up. Wings out.
NO SPOILERS!
Cuffed was a sexy, raw, and extremely emotional standalone contemporary romance, and I absolutely loved it! K. Bromberg blew me away with the storyline and characters, and I loved her writing style. I can already tell that the Everyday Heroes series will be one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to read more about the Malone brothers!
The storyline was intense and kind of unexpected. The synopsis didn’t give a lot away about the hero and heroine’s past, and I didn’t know what it entailed, so I was a little blindsided when I discovered the truth. There were definitely difficult and trying moments throughout, and I experienced a roller coaster of emotions while reading Cuffed: happiness, sadness, anger – you name it, I felt it. Jut as a warning, there may be triggers for some readers. Even though the heroine’s past didn’t relate to me in any way, my heart still broke for her (both as a little girl and the grown woman she was today), and I was very emotional when it came to certain parts of the story. If it was slightly difficult for me as the reader, I can’t imagine what it was like for K. Bromberg to write it. I give her huge applause for having the courage to create and share this raw and emotional story with everyone.
The characters were phenomenal. Grant Malone and Emerson Reeves were amazing, and I loved them very much. Even though Grant and Emerson’s situations didn’t pertain to me specifically, I felt an instant connection and fell head over heels in love with them. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how most of their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Grant and Emerson’s point of view, and most of their banter and interactions with each other. Their journey wasn’t easy by any stretch of the imagination. There were a lot of up and down, as well as hot and cold moments throughout, but despite some of the hardships, I was more than ecstatic with the conclusion to Grant and Emerson’s story. K. Bromberg gave me the ending I so desperately wanted for these two and I couldn’t have been happier. I also fell in love with the Malone family and a few other secondary characters. They added a wonderful dynamic to the story, and I can’t wait to see more of them in the rest of the Everyday Heroes series!
Cuffed was a sexy, raw, and emotional standalone contemporary romance that dealt with some difficult topics, but I would HIGHLY recommend it! K. Bromberg truly did an amazing job with Grant and Emerson’s story, and I was very happy with the outcome. I have fallen in love with the Malone family and several other characters, and I’m so excited to read more in the rest of the Everyday Heroes series!
Emmy Reeves and Grant Malone were best friends until they were in 3rd grade. Grant had pinky swear not to tell any one a secret that Emmy told him but he broke that promise. When that promise was broken, Emmy and her family moved away and Grant never knew what happened other than he knew that breaking the promise made his best friend disappear.
Twenty years later Grant followed in his father’s footsteps and is a police officer. He runs into Emmy on one of his patrols and is shocked to see her. Emmy is so shocked to see Grant that she runs off. Emmy repressed what happened to her when she was a child but knows that she doesn’t trust Grant because he broke his pinky promise to her. However, Emmy is also attracted to Grant and loves a man in uniform!
Grant wants to find out what happened to Emmy and wants her forgiveness for his broken promise when they were kids. He also wants to get to know Emmy again but she is resistant so Grant decides to play by her rules, which is no strings attached fun. Grant wants more than what Emmy is offering but decides that he will do it her way while he tries to convince her that she really wants more than she realizes. Grant realizes that Emmy still has his heart now as when they were kids and must get Emmy to forgive him for what he did when they were kids.
Emmy has built walls around her heart but as she gets to know Grant again, the past that she doesn’t have a lot of memories of comes back to her bit by bit and she must accept what happened to her and realize that her present and future doesn’t have to be ruled by her past.
Emmy is such a strong woman who has made something of herself and lives her life to the fullest. Grant is such a swoon worthy man in uniform with such a big heart!
Handled an extremely difficult subject well.
The thread of childhood abuse through out this book was too much for me. The male lead pursued the female relentlessly. I couldn’t finish because I felt very uncomfortable with their relationship.
great read
A fantastic story with wonderful characters that will touch you in a way that you will remember long after you finished reading
The story line can cause triggers of sexual abuse and broken trust so read with caution. However, in case of the eight boy in this story, breaking the trust of is friend was the best thing for her. a very emotional, realistic and memorable story.
Fell in love with Grant & Emerson! He fought hard for her, to show her she was worth all the moments in the World especially when she felt she didn’t. He wouldn’t give up and she battled through her demons to finally let him in and love him whole heartedly.
Enjoyed reading!
4*
Grant & Emmy were best friends as children they spent a lot of time together.
When Emma shared a secret with Grant it changed their lives.
Retuning to her home town years later the two meet again.
A new author for myself and I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the character and the way the story was told.
This whole series is so good!
The characters seemed like they may be ok, Just that the ramp up to story jussssssst. Oh, sorry supposed to be reviewing storrryyyy. Okay sorry to keep dosing off. Theme seemed ok, slooow start. Keeping this book to “read” when I have insomnia.
This is a heavy story but a good one. Reunited after 20 years Grant & Emery must overcome abuse, trust issues, and fear of life to find their way to each other.
3 stars means I liked it. It was just a heavy deep story that was long and maybe a little too drawn out. There were times when I was tired of her running out of fear even though it was understandable.
Fabulous story with captivating characters! I highly recommend.
Loved it great characters
One of my all time favorites, loved the characters and the story line. A+++
Loved it!!
