My Favorite of the Series (So Far)!!
We have a kickass heroine, who knows about aliens and is stealing their tech to make money. When she ends up on the island where those “stealing” the humans are based, she also runs into Crypto who is first saving his teammate, and second stopping the slavers.
I love the interactions. I especially liked this one, because she has known about aliens for years – so there is no “surprise” here, but getting to know one, and partnering with one is quite the adventure.
Thoroughly entertaining, and fun, sexy read!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Diana Brooke was aware that aliens were real and was doing her best to track them down as they stole the Earth’s resources and stealing tech from them in order to make money. She tracks some to a remote island as they are abducting humans and is determined to make them pay. Crypto is an agent with the Intergalactic Intelligence Agency (IIA) determined to tear apart the human trafficking ring but he ends up separated from the others in his team. There are a lot of the slavers so he can’t do the rescue on his own. Then he meets a female human clad in mismatched alien warrior tech. She is the opposite of all his expectations of this planet’s fragile race. Whilst she makes it clear her hate for all aliens, she does agree to help him save all the humans. The nanotech makes him appear like a man but his real form is terrifying. Can he steal this thief’s heart so she can see past their differences?
I loved this story of Crypto and Diana which was both dramatic and filled with passion. Full of danger and drama they made a formidable team after they worked out their differences and started to trust each other. A great relationship which was very enjoyable to read and see develop as the story developed. A very dramatic ending. Does contain some sexual content.
Great story with strong fun characters. I really enjoyed this and recommend the series.
This is a charming Romantic Suspense Sci-Fi novel!
This third volume of the Cosmos series begins just prior to Trace picking up Hack’s nanobots after Crypto retrieved the transponder from the slavers’ space shuttle. We finally learn why they were unable to reach one another via their communication link, as well as why Crypto wasn’t there to meet Trace, yet still was able to secure the device needed to cure Hack from his nanos being wiped out. (You’ll have to see Book #1 Trace and Book #2 Hack for further back-story, although the beginning of Crypto does a fair but limited job of hitting the highlights.)
Crypto is so distracted, however, by someone trailing him through the jungle as he attempts to make his rendeavous, that he manages to let himself get caught by the slavers. Fortunately for him, Diana thinks he might be an asset to her, and decides to help him escape.
It is only then that Diana learns that the aliens she’s been observing on the island are in fact guarding humans to be sold on the black market slave trade. She decides to join up with Crypto and try to help rescue them.
This volume is a little more fraught with danger than the proceeding ones. And the main periphery characters are the bad guys. Still, prior to their attempted rescue of the hostages, Crypto and Diana have enough down time to get to know each other… quite well. So much so that she is understandably devastated when she thinks he has died. Luckily, however, his team has his back, and Crypto is saved.
All the loose ends are tied up at the end of this book, bringing to a close the IIA investigation into the humans being sold on the intergalactic black market. The epilogue even returns us to the Cosmos Resort and Dating Agency, where we receive a final update on everyone from Pete Peterson.
This is a fun, creative, sexy read for lovers of paranormal sci-fi romance with light touches of humor and a decent suspense mystery to be solved. These books are part of the eight author Intergalactic Dating Agency mega-series; the rest of which I am eager to explore.
Diana Brooke, alien tech thief, had learned to take advantage of what life offered her and meeting face to face a sexy and skilled alien had left her intrigued and…attracted to him? Having lost communication with the rest of his crew, Crypto chose to continue his mission alone but along the way he found an unexpected surprise that made him understand and consider his teammates more. Liked Diana’s character, adventurer, decided, witty and fearless. A woman of her own! Crypto was destined to fall with this woman who was as tough and dangerous as he was. Action, suspense, amusing scenes, violence, good fights, romance and passion.
We are now getting Crypto’s story and it’s a story that will keep you on your toes.
I found myself laughing, screaming, and yelling while reading his book.
Diana knows there are others not of her world earth. Why? Well, she has items of theirs.
Crypto stayed on the island when his partner got injured but they have a job to do.
All is well until he is followed, then caught, then shocked beyond reason at the tough as nails female who rescues him.
Hysterically good and I enjoyed the banter and the chemistry between this couple.
Love it!
I was intrigued with this book from the start because the heroine was very atypical; in fact, I can’t recall reading anyone quite like her with her “occupation.” Leave it to Annie to come up with something this jaded book blogger hasn’t read before!
I had met Crypto in previous books, and I really felt for him. His heart had been broken and he still carried that hurt around with him.
Add to the mix the underlying mystery/adventure/quest to figure out who was kidnapping humans from Earth, and you’ve got one heck of a story!
I’ll read anything Annie writes!!!
(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
I honestly love the character of Diana. She’s smart, tough and can hold her own in any situation. And she’s the perfect foil for Crypto. With plenty of action and two wonderful characters this book is even better than book 2 of the series and is a joy to read. Enjoy!
Diana has been aware of aliens for quite a while. Well, when you find a crashed UFO, alien inside, you can’t really pretend otherwise! She has made a job for hrself hoovering up “mislaid” alien tech. If they can steal from Earth, she has no qualms evening up the score. But during her latest heist, she may have bitten off more than she can chew. An alien run human slavery ring? That she did not expect. Nor the the large, handsome, chameleonesque alien cop!
Crypto has an inbuilt ability to shape shift. His nanos really just help him to fashion weapons out of the elements contained within his body. handy in his line of work. He never really got the fascination with humans but then he’d never met Diana! She is a pocketsized rocket, feisty, fiery and full of guts.
Diana is full throttle, always up for the challenge. She takes Crypto’s alien nature in her stride but she finds his motives a bit harder to deal with. Diana can take care of herself but can she see herself with the overprotective Tiger Shifter? Great read!
