Crushing on the Billionaire brings us the conclusion to the Billionaires with Heart series. In it, we find Devon and Kylie’s story, or, better said, second-chance. I liked the descriptions of all the settings that the author provided, especially the yacht; but as another reviewer has mentioned, it’s still a bit uncomfortable to read that it “was worth every penny. Every single one of the 5.3 million dollars it had cost” (and that he had bought it just for that date? Yikes). Oh well, I guess this *is* just fiction. Still, an enjoyable story with a sweet, if somewhat abrupt, HEA.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Crushing on the Billionaire is a clean, short, second-chance billionaire romance. I loved that Devon forgave Kylie and that he didn’t take any delight in her current situation. I didn’t really like the ostentatious display of wealth. I was given an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
I just loved Devon. He never stopped loving Kylie even though she dumped him to date a millionaire. Ten years later their roles are reversed and Kylie is so ashamed she tries to push him away. But sweet Devon convinces her she is still the girl he fell in love with.
Devon Brooks dated Kylie Martin in high school, but she was shallow and dumped him for a rich kid. Times have changed when he meets up with her again in Hawaii and he doesn’t realize how far she has fallen because of her gambling father. This was a short funny romance, but Devon spent too much time talking about all the money had now and showing off what he could buy to Kylie. It made him look shallow. This was the last book in the series and it was nice to read more about the romantic relationships of Devon’s siblings. All three books had happy for now endings.
A great ending to the short story series! I loved getting to know Devon, the youngest of the Brooks billionaires, and Kylie, his ex-girlfriend from high school whom he’s always loved. Devon, though he was one of the few middle-class students at an exclusive prep school, managed to hold onto his confidence, intelligence, and bright outlook as he inherited money and started a thriving business with his brother. Kylie, on the other hand, lost more than money and prestige when her father gambled away all their wealth. They meet a decade later and Devon, in his kind, tender-hearted, and sophisticated way, tries to woo Kylie and help her in her devastated state. It’s a sweet story about letting go of the past with love and forgiveness. If you enjoy contemporary romance, you will totally enjoy this book.
I was given a copy of the book by the author and was under no obligation to post a review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
If you like stories about handsome men and beautiful women, at least one of whom is filthy rich, but want the stories to be clean and more or less uplifting, then here’s another one for you from Liwen Ho. It’s very short, so good for a quick read. It helps to read the first two in the series before this one, but not really necessary.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
