“No-fraternization policies were made to be broken.” Evan Kazmeirowicz, VEGAS CRUSHThis may sound reasonable coming from the star winger for the VEGAS CRUSH the day he lays eyes on the new social media manager for the team, but for Holly Laurent it’s a whole different story. Dating a “player” is a risky business, especially if she wants to keep the job she just landed with the hottest team in the … if she wants to keep the job she just landed with the hottest team in the NHL.
Holly loves her independence and her career. She’s doing just fine on her own, thank you very much. Allowing her head to be turned by a hot hockey player and putting her job at risk?
Not. Happening. Ever.
Not even if he looks like a god. Not even if he possesses enough charm to tempt the panties from a nun. Not even if she has to cross her fingers behind her back every time she tells him she’s not interested.
Policies exist for a reason. Rules are not meant to be broken and sexy players are not to be trusted. Right?
**CRUSHED is a super sexy STANDALONE sports romance about a Ukrainian/American hockey god and the new social media manager for the team. Twitter is about to explode!

Hockey romances have become one of my new favorite tropes over the past year, and Crushed pushes all the right buttons for me. A to-die for hockey player with a reputation for being a bad boy. A young heroine who’s just starting a brand new career. The chemistry and attraction are undeniable. But there’s that pesky no-fraternization policy…
I really enjoyed this story! The way that Evan pursued Holly was very endearing. Here’s a guy who is used to women falling at his feet, but Holly is not anything like the type of women who throw themselves at him. He’s never wanted any woman for more than a one night stand, but he finds himself looking at Holly like he could find his forever with her.
Holly is such a strong young woman. She’s been burned in the past so her guard is up in full force with Evan. She’s not the type of women he normally spends time with. As attracted as she is to him, she’s just not that kind of girl. And especially since they have to work together? It would be so awkward for her after…
Brit does a great job of weaving the sport of hockey through this romance. Being an avid fan of the new Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team and watching the games, Brit pulled me straight into every game they played. I could visualize every move they made on the ice, and the excitement I felt while reading had me tearing through the pages, holding my breath to see if they won each game. Crazy right? I know, I know, but I live in the books I read, and this was so exciting!!
Holly and Evan are so good together! Both have struggles to overcome, and once they climb those final hurdles and accept what their hearts are telling them? Yeah, together they are a force to be reckoned with. The sexy times were oh so hot!! I had to fan myself a few times!!
I love the secondary characters we’re introduced to as well. Pam is an amzing bestie to Holly and Georg? Well I can’t wait to get the real story on him in book 2, Sin Shot.
An amazing first book for Brit DeMille!! I am excited to read more!!
I have been fascinated with this book, setting aside that I’m a hockey romance fan, this it’s a very good story.
The relationship between Evan and Holly is born very fast (InstaLove after all) which makes everything more fun.
The book has many positive elements making me love it:
Heroine is strong without being petulant, has a sense of humor without you hate her and is fragile without to be a victim.
The hero has his good and bad things creating a realistic character. He is flirtatious but sensitive, arrogant but shy and a born conqueror.
In addition isn’t just focus on them or their relationship, Brit DeMille adds elements that make this a really fast and great reading like hockey stuff, and a good look of other characters that will have an important role.
In addition, you find dialogues and phrases that will pull hearts out of your ears.
It is a fun, catchy and romantic story, for sure you will find lot of romance in each chapter.
Well this book took me by surprise. I’ve only read maybe a handful on sports romance books. It’s not exactly a trope I hate or anything but it’s not one that draws me in all that often. But to my surprise, I thoroughly enjoy Crushed and I managed to devour this in one sitting.
Evan is a hockey player who is reaching for Team Captain Of Vegas Crush NHL. He’s been working up to this, and it’s his time to shine. He’s not only a player on the ice, he’s also one off, he has women falling to their knees in front of him, he could have any woman he wants, and he has, but once his eyes landed on Holly, a new social media manager, that all starts to change.
Evan knew the moment he saw her, she wasn’t like all these other women, she was special.
Holly is just as intrigued with Evan, but wary as hell because of her job, she’s new to the job, she’s just out of collage and this is her first major job, so the last thing she wants to do is risk losing it. So she keeps him at arms length, but he’s not one to back away and won’t be one to give up.
Evan and Holly were amazing, the connection between the two of them was electrifying and addictive. As the plot deepened and these characters became closer, the more I needed to know what was going to happen next.
This book was amazing, and Brit DeMille is a delight, I loved her writing with her other books under another pen name, and I absolutely loved it with this beauty!
5 stars!
This is a great story. I love the way the author has incorporated hockey and romance in the story line. The plays of the game were so detailed I felt like I was in the game. I loved how the author detailed the social media aspect of an organization.
Great intro to this series, I have to catch up and read the rest! 5 hockey stars for this one!
Holly just got the job of a lifetime thanks to her uncle. She’ll be handling the social media for the Vegas Crush, and she’s so excited to get started. While at a practice with her uncle, learning the game of hockey, she see’s a player Evan, who’s hot as heck out on the ice, and when she’s introduced to him, she’s a little flirty. It’s against company policy to date a player, so why does Evan keep messaging her! Will these two break policy and get together or will she stick to the rules and let him go? Read along and see!
2.5 Stars
Holly has just graduated from UCLA and her uncle sets her up with an interview with the Las Vegas Crush as a social media manager. She knows nothing about hockey but is excited for the opportunity. On her first day she comes face to face with Evan, well through the glass of the hockey arena. Evan is instantly smitten and is bound and determined to win her over. Holly is hesitant because she doesn’t want to risk her new job that she loves. But ultimately she can’t deny her attraction to Evan and things heat up on and off the ice.
I wanted to love this one but I struggled. In the beginning all interactions between the MCs and secondary characters seemed forced or unnatural. I just didn’t get all the feels. I didn’t see their pull to each other. I liked the story well enough but it just took too long for me to get into it and feel anything that the characters were feeling. I am intrigued by Pam and Georg so I will pick up the next one in this series.
What a fantastic debut novel for this “new” author; absolutely loved the alter ego of Raine. Evan and Holly’s journey was fun and heartwarming to witness and their chemistry was explosive. While this is a standalone with a HEA, I cannot wait to ride the roller coasters of the other Crush champions!
OK fist off this is my first hockey related book, even though I am a fan of the sport.
Evan is the star of the team (Vegas Crush) and Holly is the new social media manager. Of course sparks fly between the two, the team no has a no fraternization policy.
I loved the way Evan turned in to a real gentleman when it came to Holly, despite his reputation as a player.
I truly enjoyed this book and how the chemistry between these two is amazing.
Now even though this is a stand alone, I cant wait for Pam and Georg story in Sin Shot coming in June 2019!
CRUSHED
So..Evan is the star on the NHL team, the Las Vegas Crush, and he’s a known player…Holly is the new social media expert, hired by the Crush….All it really takes, is for Evan and Holly to see each other, and they’re both toast…But, Holly is neither interested in dating a player, nor does she want to lose her job for breaking the no fraternization policy by the team management….Evan, on the other hand, isn’t giving Holly up…..
I like CRUSHED….I like this author’s writing…I like Evan and Holly…Their chemistry is good…The story is good…There is plenty of steam…And I like the ending…Like I said…I like CRUSHED….
Crushed is the a delicious sports romance that did a wonderful job of taking me away from the turmoil of the real world. For a few glorious hours I lived and learned the fast-paced world of hockey. From the basic rules and terms to the ins and outs of media coverage.
But more than this, I enjoyed watching one of hockey’s biggest stars fall in love and ride that emotion to the best season of his career. I was utterly exhilarating!
Britt DeMille has captured my attention as an author. It was fun to read her work and see her create this brand new community in the world of sports. I truly enjoyed the lighthearted, fast-paced story. I also enjoyed the glitz and glamour of the professional sports world. I enjoyed the tumultuous world of sweet romance.
This book is a great way to spend a few pleasurable hours and indulge in all things sports and romance.
I’m a sucker for hockey romances and Evan and Holly’s story did not disappoint. Good Girl Holly just landed a job as social media manager for the Vegas Crush. In her first day she and playboy star winger connect eyes and there is instant attraction between the two. But there are obstacles in their way one being the No-fraternization policy, Evan is a well know player and Holly has trust issues from a cheating fiance. This was a sweet, funny and steamy story. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading more from this series.
This was my first book by this Author. I loved this book, I am a big hockey fan so the book caught my eye. I read this book in 2 days could not put it down. Holly and Evan took risks to be together and loved prevailed in the end. The hockey action was so true to life and I felt like I was right there for the games, workout sessions and the after game partying and the road trips. I am now on the Book #2 in the series. Awesome book I give it 5 stars.
I love a great hockey romance, and Brit DeMille (aka Raine Miller and her hubby) do not disappoint in their story about the Las Vegas Crush. Holly embarks on her first real job after getting her communications degree. Her goal is to crush the social media competition and prove to her boss and her uncle that she has the chops to do a great job and make a difference. She didn’t see Evan coming (until he slammed into the boards right in front of her) but even if she had, the fraternization rule is one that she refuses to break. As for Evan, he is a ladies man through and through and breaking Holly’s walls and showing her she can trust him may be a feat that is too difficult for even him. I enjoyed the banter, I enjoyed the loyalty and that classic Raine Miller steam.
Hockey sport romance, Evan and Holly. Evan captain of Vegas Crush NHL, Holly the new social media for the team. Holly has a past that made her put her heart inside a wall, now Evan wants to crush it and get to it, their chemistry can’t be denied and the heart knows more than the mind.
I know nothing about hockey a bit like Holly but I know what I like in a romance and Crush had everything I like. Evan….very nice…good moves….very good moves. Holly loved her from the moment I met her, she made me laugh and frown and it had that slow burn that keeps us on the edge of our seats just waiting and waiting. The attraction between Evan the ‘player’ and Holly the girl that’s been hurt before is inevitable. They are so busy trying to deny it and keep it under wraps that they don’t realise they are falling for each other until they do. All the characters were entertaining and I liked the way the story flowed. It read the way I like my lighter romances too. Perfect for a summers day or winter afternoon. I can’t wait to see what Georg gets up to in Sin Shot.
This is the first book by Raine Miller that I have read and I really enjoyed it. It’s a quick and steamy read. I am kinda a sucker for hockey romances so this was right up my alley. I loved Evan and Holly! Their chemistry was off the charts hot! Can’t wait for book 2!
Great hockey romance the author totally crushed the story. Two unlikely lovers find love against all odds Holly is a young social media manager striking out on her first job covering the Vegas Crush the cities NHL team. Evan is the face of the team handsome successful and a natural with the women and the press. Evan falls for Holly at first sight. Holly finds him attractive but also sees Evan for the womanizer he’s been. This is the story of Evans courtship of Holly. It’s a story of love, trust, honor, workplace relationships, jealousy and family. A fast paced story of Winning on the ice and off. A quick enjoyable read. Definitely predictable but still a four star read.
Raine Miller is one of my go to authors so I was very excited to hear she had written a sports romance under a pen name and even better it was a hockey romance well let me first say this book did not disappoint it had everything I expected and more. I loved the storyline a hot hockey manwhore falling for the new social media manager who is a woman who has been burnt and the last person she is going to trust is a man who is player on the ice and off the ice, the attraction may have been instant and the chemistry sizzling but what about the no fraternization policy…….
This book had it all and I fell in love with Evan and Holly this wasn’t just a quick love story this was a journey, a chase, a man needing to prove to the woman he loved that he was worth her dropping her guard and he was worth trusting. This story has all the feels you want from a romance and it also has plenty of witty banter, looking forward to book 2 in the Vegas Crush Series.
