Mature Content Warning: The Bayonet Scars novels are a dark romance series which features graphic sexual content, violence, and foul language that is intended for a mature audience. Each novel features a different couple, though it’s not recommended that they be read out of order due to the series story arc.CRUSH (Bayonet Scars, No. 4)Young love is always perfect. Until it’s not.Cheyenne Grady is … not.
Cheyenne Grady is a total daddy’s girl to her bad-ass father, the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Forsaken Motorcycle Club. She’s funny, and kind, and she just wants that deep, earth-shattering love like her dad has with her school secretary, Holly. But Cheyenne’s been looking in the wrong direction, because the only good that can come from the way she looks at Jeremy Whelan is a lesson in heartbreak.
Jeremy always wanted to prospect for the Forsaken Motorcycle Club and wear the same patch as his father. When a life-long dream becomes reality, Jeremy realizes that the outlaw lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it easy on relationships. He wants to be a good man, but temptation is everywhere.
Cheyenne is beautiful, and strong, and exactly what Jeremy could have forever. As long as he doesn’t screw it up.
Love is never more powerful than the first time.

First off, I need to mention that this is a new review as my older one is no where to be found. I’m glad I actually decided to read this again because I’d forgotten just how much I loved this story.
The book that preceded this one, Rev, revolved around Forsaken MC’s grouchy Sergeant at Arms, Sterling Grady and the frustration that he and the rest of the club feel trying to keep their town and their women safe. Grady has his woman, Holly, and his seventeen year old daughter, Cheyenne, that drive him nuts and vice versa as he’s no picnic to live with either. He’s balls to the wall when it comes to keeping the two of them safe, and for a good reason: there’s unsolved trouble in Fort Bragg. The problem for Grady is Cheyenne—the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Crush revolves around the lives of MC kids, Cheyenne, and eighteen year old, Jeremy, who lives with his sister, Nic and her man, Duke. Cheyenne and Jeremy are the PG-13 version of MC romance drama ~ as they should be. Why would you want to read this? Simply put, they rock. She’s conniving, sassy, and knows her way around the clubhouse and club life. She’s lived with bossy, alpha, stubborn bikers since she was born. You know she’s gonna make a perfect ol’ lady one day. She’s in love with Jeremy too. But … because this is a story about teenagers, there’s plenty of drama, naivety, anger, raging hormones, and heartbreak. There was only one part I found a bit over the top—c’mon, a seventeen year old girl helping to take down some seriously bad dudes? Hmm, I wasn’t a fan but I’ll let it slide because Cheyenne is well, Grady’s kid.
I’m not gonna forget about Jeremy. I. Love. Him! He’s prospecting for the MC—all he wants is his patch. He’s badass, moody, and gorgeous, as well as smart, respectful, patient, and in love with Cheyenne. This poor kid is constantly in trouble with the club because not only is he being run ragged (we know this about prospects—being told to do anything at any given moment) by the MC, but as Cheyenne keeps getting herself into hot water, Jeremy feels compelled to bail her out. Unfortunately for him, he pays the consequences of (sort of) disobeying direct orders from the club.
Jeremy and Cheyenne are meant to be together: the two of them are strong enough to navigate the highs and lows of being teens—including the fact they have to answer to an MC. Their relationship manages to overcome a decent amount of obstacles, and you can’t help but root for them to have a bright future together.
This series is so good because it has a colorful, unique, and eclectic cast of characters that we get to know through their own drama, yet lucky for us, they don’t leave. Each new installment may be focused on another member, but it’s not solely done so without the rest of the crew. Forsaken MC is a family—one who laughs and cries together, parties like it’s no ones business, celebrates new lives, and grieves for their dead—they live by their own code, make no excuses for it, and most importantly, will fight to the end for their MC brothers. Love this series ~ love this book ~ easy five star read for me ~ another great read by JC Emery
I have read all of this series so far but I would like for you to do a follow up on the original couple from their point of view of what is going on now after the war is over. I loved the first book with Alex and Ryan or Cub and Trigger. I want to know how they are doing. They are mentioned in the other books but I would like another book from their point of view, continuing their story.
