Don’t get married on Christmas Eve, they said. The holiday will overshadow your special day, they insisted.Little did they know that a shockingly festive murder would put everything else on hold. When all signs point to my sometimes friend, sometimes rival, Detective Crenshaw, I’ll need to work fast so that he’s not forced to spend his holiday in the slammer. But in throwing myself feet first into … throwing myself feet first into the real crook’s crummy conspiracy, I could be risking so much more than a spoiled day… The future of my forthcoming marriage could very well be on the line too.
Oh, boy… Can Pip and I solve this one in record time so that my fiancé’s and my perfect day can go off without another major hitch?

With Christmas Eve approaching, Dani is preparing for her holiday wedding. But things take a turn for the worse when she goes to pick up her wedding rings and discovers a body. Since Detective AJ Crenshaw was there, things are not looking good for him. Can Dani find the real killer in time to save AJ and her wedding?
I’m really enjoying this series and this book is no exception. Well-written with well-rounded characters, whether you like them or not, this book is a fun read. I was captured from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. I’m really looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
Dani is getting married Christmas Eve. Like all brides, she is busy putting the finishing touches on the wedding. That is until a murder happens in the sleepy little town she lives in and, in order to help a friend, gets herself in the mix of things. With a little bit of sleuthing and help from her little dog Pip, they go on to solve a murder so the wedding can go off without a hitch. Great little read and I need to find more of these gems. Great read!
Dani is finishing up errands before her big day. That is her wedding day! Going to pick up the rings she finds that AJ has been hit from behind and there is the body of Nick North in the back room of the shop. Did AJ kill him? Dani? Kelly? Dani and Pip are out to solve this one so she can marry Luke as planned. A fun read!
I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
You are planning your holiday wedding and on the way to pick up your rings, you stumble onto a murder. What do you do? You help solve it because people you know are implicated. You and your trusty sidekick cannot let that happen. Hopefully in time for the wedding, too.
If you pay attention, you can solve this mystery. All the clues are there.
I can honestly say that this book can be read all by itself. It is my first with this author and in this series. I had no trouble following the story or the characters. At one point I had to check to see if this was the first in the series (number 5 actually).
Enjoy a fun easy to read and follow story.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Nick played/used a lot of peeps, he’s not a honest man, business and personal. Secrets are many in this story, many suspects to choose from. Who’s the guilty party? Grab your copy to find out and learn if Dani & Luke were able to have their Christmas Eve wedding during Blueberry Bay’s investigation with Detective Jane Winter, find out if she really is trying to replace AJ.
There are little hints during the story as to who the killer is, read on.
This story is a clean romance and light-hearted mystery with a prancing pooches, cosy doggy knitwear, a determined detective, glittering glass and a waylaid wedding.
The clues are there early in the telling of the tale but do not detract from the story.
It is interesting enough that you keep reading to figure out how the characters interact, and the guilty party gets caught.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. A fun read!
I really enjoyed Crumbling Up Crooks. This book is fun and interesting. I like the characters. The mystery is interesting and kept me guessing. This is a great Christmas cozy mystery.
Dani is busy with her wedding Inma Christmas Eve. But when she finds a death man in the art gallery and AJ is one of the suspects, can she focus in her wedding if the murder is not solved? A great mystery.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. A story about Dani and just how a small town comes together to solve a murder. A list of characters but easy to follow along and a page turner. Because of the small town everyone knows everyone else business but is there to help when needed.
Danielle is about to get married to her fiance, Luke. When she goes to get their rings, she finds a dead body. As she tries to prove her friend AJ is innocent and there is no cloud hanging over their wedding. It is chaos and mayhem, while interviewing all the suspects and trying to get ready for her wedding. This story is just as funny and chaotic as the others in this series. I enjoy coming back and seeing how these characters are getting along.
Crumbling Up Crooks is another wonderful mystery set in Blueberry Bay. Dani should be focused on her wedding, but instead she is trying to find a murderer to keep AJ out of jail. This book has all the characters I have come to love although it can be read as a stand alone. I love the community created by Ms. Lyn. As usual there is no shortage of suspects and many motives. Can Dani solve the mystery in time to meet Luke at the altar?
Emmie Lyn brings us back to Misty Harbor on Blueberry Bay with a true who done it. We have a dead body with plenty of suspects and very few answers. Not only do we have a murder to solve but we have a wedding to make happen. This book was so much fun to read and sort through the possible murderers. I will admit I did not guess who it was. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one.
Crumbling Up Crooks by Emmie Lyn is the fifth A Little Dog Diner tale. Dani MacKenzie is busily rushing around town completing errands for her wedding on Christmas Eve to Luke Sinclair. She enters Creative Designs to pick up the custom wedding bands when she hears glass shattering. Detective AJ Crenshaw stumbles out of the back room clutching half of a glass reindeer that has blood on it and then collapses. Dani finds glass artist Nick North dead in the back room with the other half of the reindeer lodged in his chest. Detective Jane Winter, the towns newest member of the police force, arrives to take charge of the investigation. Unfortunately, AJ and his sister, Kelly are placed at the top of Winter’s suspect list. Dani needs to find Nick’s killer before her plans to get hitched are derailed. Crumbling Up Crooks is not a standalone story. I suggest reading the books in The Little Dog Diner series in order so you can understand the characters and their relationships. I enjoyed the mystery because it was complex with several suspects and good clues. Dani was determined to find the culprit and save AJ as well as her wedding. Dani was active in searching for clues and asking questions. Detective Winter was certainly not going to help Dani (maybe throw her in jail next to AJ). It can be solved before the reveal. Crumbling Up Crooks has a charming ending that will have you smiling. I just loved Pip in the story. I would love to be able to take my dog with me when I go on errands. There are delightful descriptions of knitted items in the book including an adorable doggie sweater. Crumbling Up Crooks is a lighthearted cozy mystery with a prancing pooch, cozy knitwear, a determined detective, glittering glass and a waylaid wedding.
Christmas Eve. A wonderful time for a winter wedding. Only one problem someone got themselves murdered. Did Detective AJ Crenshaw or have they arrested the wrong person? Will the wedding be saved? As the suspect list grows Dani and friends, with the help of Pip, must find out who really did it.
The happiness of Christmas has to compete with a murder, typical for Pip & Dani. Author creativity provides a mystery with a multitude of suspects. Dani has even less assistance this time without police hints to help yet I think she is even more motivated than ever to protect her friends and of course that this will not ruin her wedding. I was enraptured by this intense cozy. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a cute light story complete with an adorable pup ready to defend his mistress. Good mystery right up to the end. Easy read, but will keep your interest .
This one is so much fun. I love everything Pipster does to help protect his mistress. I didn’t figure out who commited the murder till the end. A really fun read. I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review
