They say New York City is the Devil’s Playground. They’re wrong. This city belongs to me.And so does Aislinn Granville. She is a pampered politician’s daughter.A decorative ornament, raised to smile and nod and do what she’s told.Except… she doesn’t. Not with me. Ever.In this city full of thugs and thieves, I’ve kept Aislinn safe. From my enemies. From me.Until now.
This book and these headstrong characters are intriguing, passionate, powerful and so much more! I love them and they’re gripping story. I was hooked from the first page! Aislinn Granville is feisty, strong-willed, a political strategist and her world is shaken…Enter, Damon King, “a fixer the same way the devil is”, contracted to protect Aislinn. The verbal sparring between these two as well as their chemistry and all the layers of mystery and intrigue kept me enthralled. There are secrets, tension, and passion! A very seductive first book of the Wages of Sin duet. Tara Leigh does not disappoint! I cannot wait for book 2, Corrupt Savior!

Aislinn Granville is in danger, with her fathers shady dealings, she has more danger coming at her than she can handle. He’s the devil of New York City, he rules, frightens and takes what he wants. And he wants Aislinn. To keep her safe, eliminate the threats against the woman he has secretly watched from afar for years. He wants to awaken her desires, control her body and cure the craving he has for this sassy, intelligent, beautiful woman.
With danger, secrets and lies circling their lives, the out of character feelings Damon is experiencing is throwing him off his game. And the craving, needy and spine tingling connection Aislinn is developing for this ruthless, sexy and dangerous man, should have her running far away. But is making her question everything she knows. Their lives are tangled together and danger is right outside. Aislinn and Damon’s have a lot coming their way, but will they face it together?
Cruel Sanctuary was my first book by Tara Leigh, and I am happy to say I am hooked. This book was so consuming. Aislinn and Damon are such complex and gripping characters. The sexual tension, the anger and banter, make for such a fantastic enemies to lovers story. The darkness, the secrets, danger and all the heat that comes through each chapter has me impatiently waiting for what is to come next in Aislinn and Damon’s world.

This was very unlike Tara’s other books that I’ve read, but just as great. I’m giving it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.
First off, there were so many good lines in this book! I loved our anti-hero Damon King. He was dark, sexy, and swoony. He was no Prince Charming by any stretch of the imagination, but I was totally okay with that. The lengths he was willing to go to for Aislinn (and women in general) endeared me to his character. I’m sure I could never date someone like him in real life, but he’s going on my book boyfriend list anyways.
I did like Aislinn overall, although I didn’t really relate to her character as much as I was hoping. Probably because we didn’t have like anything in common. Regardless, I enjoyed being in her head, and seeing the interaction between these two. The dual POV was very well done; they each had a distinct voice. We didn’t see a ton of other people for most of this book, but there will be more in the second book, I would guess.
And speaking of the second book, I need it ASAP! This left off on a cliffhanger, and while I was expecting what happened (down to almost every single detail), I still need to know what’s next. If you haven’t read anything by Tara yet, what are you waiting for? Each book I’ve read has been great, but don’t go into her books expecting lighthearted romance. She writes romance with a grittier, darker side, and this is her darkest yet.
Cruel Sanctuary is a contemporary romance by Tara Leigh. Let me start by saying, I dislike any book where the hero is a criminal and I don’t read them. That being said, Ms. Leigh has once again given readers a well-written book and even I got sucked into the drama and suspense of this story. It takes heaps of talent to get this old girl wrapped up in a dark read like this one. Aislinn is the daughter of the DA of Manhattan. She’s proud of her father until she learns of his criminal actions that have now put her in danger. Damon is the King of New York’s underground and doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty. Aislinn and Damon’s story has bucketloads of drama, smokin’ hot sex, suspense and bits of humor. Cruel Sanctuary is book 1 of The Wages of Sin Duet and it does end in the dreaded…dun, dun, dun…cliff-hanger. Another thing I despise in a book. So here are my thoughts, if you don’t mind a cliff-hanger, this is a solid 5 star book. If you’re like me and hate them more than anything in the book world, this will probably be a 4 star read for you. But kudos to Ms. Leigh for her ability to write a book that I can’t put down even though it is about things I usually avoid.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Aislinn Granville, most would think me to be pampered politician’s daughter. Untouched by real tragedy, Lil do most know my secrets
I use to work for a cushy political consulting firm, until my father (James Granville) the Manhattan district attorney told me he would be running in the next election for mayor. I decided to go work for my father, even though we aren’t very close
Somewhere along the way my father & his assistant got them self into something that they couldn’t get them out of. These two have made PR nightmare even I can’t fix
That’s when Damon King was called in to help…. Only thing is at what price will Mr. King be paid? Who who’s soul will be sacrifice?
Damon King , he consider to most the last resort- He no trust fund brat. Nor was he born a Mafia prince. But to some he might be revered as the boogeyman of Manhattan. He has accumulated his power & fortune the only way that he knows how to by truly be earning it, with worked hard.
Some might think of him as the fixer in the same way the devil is. but only time will tell
I love how strong & feisty Aislinn is… She not willing to bow down to the all mighty Damon King
Of course, you are going to find some very steamy scenes. But you are also going to find so much more then you expected in this book. If you love bit of mystery, suspense, alpha male, corrupt men, feisty female’s, secrets, lies & murder- This book for you – I do want to warn you there is a cliffhanger
ღ I was so excited to get my hands on this book, after reading Blurb on this babe & of course Tara Leigh didn’t disappoint
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
Books should be read in order:
Book 1: Cruel Sanctuary-Release: March 25, 2019
Book 2: Corrupt Savior- Expected publication: May 13th 2019

Paulette Review
Ever had the feeling you never wanted to finish a book? Ever had a feeling that you wanted to suck every single word to the last letter? Ever had a feeling of utter destruction? Devastation? Ruin? Because of a book. Ever felt so complete because of a book? Cruel Sanctuary by Tara Leigh truly the above feelings. A feeling of great joy. A feeling of reading an incredible book. A feeling of such intense reading pleasure. Cruel Sanctuary gave me life, Cruel Sanctuary gave me a slice of heaven. Cruel Sanctuary is an equally brilliant story with magnificent characters take a piece of your heart. I only read a few books by Tara Leigh but she is definitely becoming one of my favourites. Cruel Sanctuary is a bonafide winner worthy to capture your heart.
With poetic and stellar writing, Cruel Sanctuary is the fist spellbinding book in the Wages of Sin duet that full captures the deadly, sensual and suspenseful world set in the underworld of New York. A masterful story with exhilarating scenes that suck you in deeply. A striking story with interesting characters that become a part f you. Hauntingly Intense. Mesmerizing. Lusciously Sexy. Heart Racing. Entrancing. Cruel Sanctuary is a fantastic dark romance between a spitfire heroine and a dangerous antihero to give you a fascinating and deliciously sinful ride. Buckle up, put your helmet and let Cruel Sanctuary take you on a mind blowing adventure. Tara Leigh’s writing rocks my mind. Tara Leigh’s writing pulls you into a deep and explosive story that will cruelly snatch your heart away. Absolutely incredible. Cruel Sanctuary is a sanctuary you need with a storyline of dominance, submission, crime and heartstopping and drool worthy sexiness.
I am totally shook. I am totally awestruck. I am totally dumbstruck. By the story. By the characters. You are introduced to Damon King, the sexiest, baddest and controlling crime boss with a dominant streak and Aislinn Granville, a sassy, confident and feisty heroine. Man, I LOVED Damon and Aislinn. Their chemistry is off the charts and they absolutely set the pages on fire. Their passion is freaking captivating. Deep. Pulse Hitting. Electrifying. I soaked on every single bit of their chemistry. Totally addicting.
I NEED CORRUPT SAVIOUR. I need it like air. I am a little broken and my heart. Cruel Sanctuary is not a 5 star. CRUEL SANCTUARY IS A 6+ STAR BOOK. What are you waiting for? One click Cruel Sanctuary NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m gonna tell you all strait… I’ve nearly read every book written by Tara Leigh. I think I’m missing the first two rockstar books. However, I know, KNOW beyond a doubt that this is the best book she has given us. If there’s an emotion and/or feeling you want in a book, Cruel Sanctuary has it. Miss Leigh is just so descriptive and the way she writes her comparisons seriously build the story up and take Damon and Ainslin’s connections to a deeper level.
There’s this rushed, suspense-like feeling to this entire book. Surprisingly while feeling the rush of the suspense, Leigh also explains and develops a story with deep characters. All while making the reader feel completely lost in the moment… several dangerous moments. I feel like this in itself is an incredible talent… Leigh tells the story while explaining the background without that information dump. I sure hope you all know what I’m talking about here. Cruel Sanctuary feels like a movie playing in your mind. For me, that is what a good book does… it takes me away to the scenes in my mind happening due to the words on the page.
Damon is one dirty man!! The lust and sexual tension was so thick in this book that it was like a wall instead of just a feeling. Damon and Ainslin have this sexy AF push pull happening… I’m right there with them!
I loved how layered the storyline is… there is definitely more than one thing happening here. I couldn’t help but feel impressed with the grit and glamour of this story. The way the world of politics unravels is eerily relatable. It seems like such a messy topic but Leigh conquers the topic and makes it incredibly realistic.
I know I mentioned this earlier in the review but it’s such a captivating talent that I want to end with it as well. Leigh’s writing is some of the smoothest and most descriptive I have ever read. She is able to set the scene up in incredible detail so you build the story up in your mind. I love how Tara Leigh really went out on a limb here and gave us something a bit darker, so sexy, and added a bit of suspense that made me need to rush through the story from start to finish.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Manhattan underground criminal network, he is brutally honest, and most people fear just his name. Aislinn is an independent, hard working woman who has come to be under the protection of Damon. Damon is fierce and has a presence about him but when it comes to Aislinn he has a hard time maintaining that persona and Aislinn has a difficult time trying to not be attracted to him. The push and pull between these two is so hot and the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely can not wait for the next one because this does end on a cliffhanger but the next book will be out soon and trust you will want to read this again and again because Damon King may be a jerk but he is a hot jerk. My rating: 5-stars.
I’m not really a dark romance reader. However, I’ve read most of Ms. Leigh’s previous books and loved them. I was unsure about reading this book but now that I’ve read it my thoughts have changed. For the good.
Aislinn Granville and Damon King are the two main characters. Their chemistry is sizzling hot. They have presumptions of each other. I loved how wrong they were and when they finally realized it.
This book is such an intense read. Ms. Leigh knows which words to use and how to use them.
While this book is darker I did giggle a few times. I loved reading their thoughts before, during, and after their interactions with each other. And some of it is cute and funny.
I absolutely loved reading about how and why each character is the way they are now.
I would love to have my own “Dark Knight” Damon.
Yes, this book ends in a cliffhanger. But the release for Corrupt Savior isn’t too far away. I’m definitely going to read it cause that cliffhanger!
**ARC provided for my honest review**
Damon King, everybody, you are in for an absolute treat with Cruel Sanctuary. And we can’t forget about the spitfire that suits this, well … anti-hero. I’m thinking that I need to read more books with anti-heroes because Damon King has just become my favorite one yet. This read is an indulgence and I simply couldn’t get enough, it has just enough dark where it doesn’t seem uncomfortable, but rather on fire the entire time. These two are absolutely hot together!
Everything about this man is just insufferable, he’s c**ky and arrogant, walks and talks like he owns the place. But he has everyone and everything to back him up. There’s something definitely alarming and alluring about him, it’s absolutely hard to resist the man. He’s both telling you to come closer and run the other way. Confusing right? But once you read about him, you’ll definitely get what I’m saying. I love it when they’re completely hard on the outside and never backing down on anything, they’re rarely so weak. And he surprised me when it came to Aislinn, he could easily succumb to her without giving it away that he was. That always left me on edge because someone is after Aislinn and she’s constantly being watched.
And who is better to match this man than the strong and sassy woman that is Aislinn. I loved everything about her. She’s no damsel in distress, she didn’t buckle when Damon would constantly slam reality into her face. Aislinn is in a position where her life is threatened and even though at first it seems like Damon has other motives, his sole focus is all her.
There’s no doubt about their insane chemistry and attraction towards one another, but they’re definitely trying to fight it. That thin little barrier can only hold up for so long and my goodness people, it is well worth the wait.
I have quickly become of Tara Leigh’s reads, from her rockstar and contemporary romances to now, romantic suspense. All her work just sucks you right in! She wrote Damon and Aislinn so damn perfectly, they’re definitely a couple I’ll never be able to forget. I just hate that this is a duet because I need the second book like yesterday!
**I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY READER’S COPY FROM THE AUTHOR IN CONSIDERATION FOR A REVIEW. THIS DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR CONTENT OF MY REVIEW**
Tara Leigh
4.5 Stars!
I’m not gonna lie, I was super excited to hear that author Tara Leigh was going to dive into the dark romance genre. And let me tell you, I was definitely impressed. Cruel Sanctuary had just the right amount of dark without being too dark. It was sexy. It was downright sinful. And the added suspense element will keep you glued to the pages.
From the moment we are introduced to Damon & Aislinn, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by these two. There’s no love lost between Aislinn and her father, but that doesn’t stop her from working with him. In some ways, I think she’s hoping that one day he will see HER and not what she can do for his political career. Aislinn is smart and fiesty and is about to give Damon a total run for his money. She’s different from most of the people he knows and once Damon sets his sights on something, well, let’s just say Aislinn doesn’t stand a chance….Damon King is feared by all that know him; even his name insights fear. When Damon sets out to protect Aislinn, all bets are off. Damon King is a force to be reckoned with. 100% Alpha and is one to not be trifled with. His darkness is alluring and Aislinn brings a light to him that he never thought was possible. Will Damon be able to complete his task and eliminate the danger facing Aislinn?? There’s only one way to find out…..
Cruel Sanctuary hits the ground running and is a terrific start to The Wages of Sin Duet. I was instantly intrigued by the characters and glued to their story. From secrets to lies to passion and delicious tension, it’s anyones guess how this story will go. The suspense and danger will leave you on the edge of your seat, wondering how this story is going to play out. I had a lot of fun getting lost in Cruel Sanctuary. It had just the right amount of darkness I was looking for and an ending that will leave you begging to get the next book in your hands….
Talk about twists and turns, violence and romance, this story had it all. Damon King is your quintessential bad boy who uses his criminal activities for the greater good.
The darling daughter of a politician who is determined to bring one particular Mexican cartel under control, Aislinn’s father he does what he does whether Aislinn likes it or not. When her father’s recent dealings are about to become public and are likely to put an end to his mayoral ambitions, Aislinn decides that she can no longer support her father’s endeavours, especially when they place her directly in harm’s way. Enter Damon King. Tasked with protecting Aislinn, little does she know that he has been watching over her most of her life, for reasons which will become known. Aislinn doesn’t want Damon’s protection and doesn’t appreciate how endangered her life is but Damon is not about to take no for answer where Aislinn’s safety is concerned.
Damon does what Damon thinks is the best thing and he promptly locks Aislinn up in his apartment but little does he know some of the past which haunts Aislinn’s future. With time, frustrations and a little patience, Damon and Aislinn start to understand each other’s mindset and despite the ever-present danger, they unwittingly start to fall for each other.
With friends now foes and right turning out to be wrong, Aislinn finds herself buried deep in the battle between her father and the Los Muertos cartel. Despite Damon’s presence, Aislinn becomes involved in two deaths, both of which could have been her own. Damon, fearful for her life, steps up her security but little does he know, the biggest threat to Aislinn is the most innocent one imaginable.
This story had me questioning right from wrong and running to keep up with its fast pace. With just a mere second of distraction, you can find yourself missing a vital piece of the complicated puzzle that is the Wages of Sin Duet. The beautiful words may lull you into believing this is a sweet romance but the darkness quickly overpowers the poetic nature of the story. There is definitely more to come from Damon and Aislinn’s story, apart from the obvious, especially when factoring other characters and revelations which will leave you intrigued and with more questions than answers. Damon is not what I would look for in a book hero and yet his bruskness is also endearing and I suspect his character will start to soften thanks to his involvement with Aislinn. My only slight reservation was that the story may have been a little too wordy. There are so many definitions of Damon that I felt that I’d highlighted half of the book. That said, the storyline was captivating and thoroughly fascinating.
As expected, the book pauses on a cliff-hanger leaving readers bereft of answers but fear not, Corrupt Saviour is waiting around the corner.
The premise of this story from Tara Leigh is awesome. I love how she constructed the plot and the characters within that specifically dark context. A broody, edgy anti-hero and the seemingly affluent woman with a charmed life who’s sharp edge is a surprise engage in an angsty, tension-filled battle of strength and wits in this first of a new duet, Cruel Sanctuary.
There were parts of the story that drug for me and some of the execution was off but I was invested the entire time and excited to learn what will come of these two in the dangerous game they’re playing to retain who they are. The intensity of the chemistry and the angst of staving off that chemistry was fulfilling.
Since this is part one of a duet we’re left with questions for sure but nothing so crazy that you’re angry at your Kindle. It ends with the promise of a great follow up and the excitement of finding out the next part of this darkly seductive tale.
Where do I even begin??? I have read and enjoyed every book Tara Leigh has written so I can honestly say that this is the best book she has written to date! This book is not only sexier but it is darker as well. Tara takes us on a journey into the dark world of politics, and I’m not just talking about dirty politicians, it is much much more than that.
Damon King is the king of the underbelly of New York, he has his hand in everything and if you need someone to make the bad go away he is the person you call. Aislinn is the daughter of a politician raised with a silver gold spoon in her mouth, or so everyone thinks. The chemistry between this bad boy and the good girl is through the roof. I love a good story with an anti-hero you can fall for and that is just what Tara delivers here.
This little highlight says sooooo much……
They say memories can’t hurt you, but “they” don’t know shit.
Memories are an avalanche of regret and remorse, held at bay by a flimsy unlocked door, easily opened.
CRUEL SANCTUARY is the first book in the Wages of Sin duet, I cannot wait until CORRUPT SAVIOR is released in May. If you enjoy Dark reads that are on the light side of dark grab this book!
Happy Reading!!!
Cruel Sanctuary is book one in The Wages of Sin duet by Tara Leigh. Book two, the final book, Corrupt Savior, is due out in May. This is one of those books that you just sit in awe. How did Tara’s mind conjure these words? This book took over my mind while I was reading it. I couldn’t think of anything else. I highlighted practically half the book in quotes and now I have to choose which ones to share with you. I need to somehow come up with the right words to convey how I feel about this book and I have no idea how I’ll be able do that.
Aislinn Granville, only child of James Granville, had everything she thought her life stood for ripped right out from under her in one fell swoop. Nothing had been as it seemed. Not only was her father not the man she thought he was, nor was his chief of staff and her sometimes casual lover, Chad Lytton. And now it seems that her life is in danger and the devil himself wants to protect her.
“Damon King might reign over Manhattan, but I will never bow to him.”
Damon King rules New York. He walks a line between the political elite and the underworld. Nothing happens that he doesn’t orchestrate in one way or another. Damon has watched Aislinn from a distance for years. He always knew that one day she would be his for however long he chose to keep her. Now is that time. She needs to be protected. She will be safe with him, but not safe from him.
“Aislinn Granville is supposed to be an entertaining diversion. A vice that won’t corrupt my body or mind. I am already corrupt. In this city, I am the king of corruption.”
Aislinn is not the pampered woman Damon thought her to be. She’s smart, she’s tough, and she has secrets. He thought he knew everything about her, but she is a constant surprise to him. Damon represents everything to Aislinn she hates. He wants to control her and she will not be controlled. But the more she looks, the more she sees. That maybe there is more to this man.
“After a lifetime of being the dutiful daughter, the good girl, minding my manners, I am intrigued by the darkness Damon has exposed me to. Tonight, I want to dance with the devil.”
Aislinn was just supposed to be temporary, until she was safe. But the longer she is under his care, the more Damon feels like he won’t be able to let her go.
“Darkness is where I thrive. Dark minds. Dark rooms. Dark hearts. Except that my heart doesn’t feel so dark anymore. Aislinn has brought light into my life.”
I’m going to stop here. There are so many secrets. Things Damon knows that he doesn’t share with Aislinn that are still to be revealed. The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot! You want to dislike Damon. He definitely lives on the dark side. But you can’t help but love him as well. It’s obvious the affect Aislinn has on him. That they NEED to be together. Yes, there is a cliffhanger. But the other half of this duet will be out in no time. I can’t say enough how amazing this book is. How beautiful Tara’s words are. I was riveted. Did I convince you yet? I hope so because you don’t want to go one more day without reading this book.
“I will be her sanctuary.”
“Aislinn Granville is my victory.
And I claim her,
As mine.”
I love finding new authors and especially ones I can’t get enough of. This book was so intriguing I was hooked from the first page. Damon King is the bogeyman to all the people that do shady dealings in New York City. He is a fixer, executioner and all around “bad” guy but he has a soft spot for Aislinn. Damon basically takes over her life but she doesn’t understand the need for his protection. Aislinn has an eye-opening experience when it comes to her father and his chief advisor but she still doesn’t take the threat to her life seriously until it’s almost too late. This book is in my top 5 of the year so far. I can’t wait for Corrupt Savior!!! I highly recommend this book!
Tara Leigh has done it again! Cruel Sanctuary is a book that sucks you in right from the first page and keeps you entertained until the very end. I loved the storyline in that it is a bit of a dark romance with an alpha male and a strong heroine who stands up for herself. Damon King is cold, arrogant, and a criminal. He is charged with protecting Aislinn, the daughter of a prominent politician. Aislinn is a feisty spitfire which I love because a I cannot stand a heroine who is a doormat. The verbal sparing between the two of them had me laughing and the chemistry between them is palpable. Cruel Sanctuary is full of intrigue, secrets, and suspense, which kept me turning page after page. The book does in a cliffhanger and while I tend to avoid books with cliffhangers, I think the author realized that there was no way King’s and Aislinn’s story could fit into one book. Thankfully, the second book of this duet is scheduled to be released at the end of April. I received this book for free.
Cruel Sanctuary
ARC from author – Tara Leigh
5 OFF THE CHART STARS
This book is “deliciously dark” & so well written ! Great job TARA LEIGH love you on the dark side !!! Damon King totally delivers ….
Cruel Sanctuary does end on a cliffhanger so warn your heart at the get go – but you will be counting the days to the second release Corrupt Savior.
One of my favorite genres – Good Girl & Dangerously BAD BAD Boy – although Damon is far from a boy & wickedly wicked where Aislinn ( LOVE THIS NAME CHOICE ) is concerned …
This book has it ALL for me :
Dirty corruption & deception
Amazing characters in both Aislinn & Damon
SCORCHING CHEMISTRY – in particular ( burning bed /bubble bath/ conference room & after the Gala scenes ) I’m quite surprised my IPAD is not still smoking ….
Very well written storyline & plot ( setting the stage for Corrupt Savior )
ANGST – ANGST & more ANGST
All the feels of a wickedly – amazing romantic story !!
There are a few lines that just gutted me & I just wanted to quote a few of my very – very favorites as they really help you understand Aislinn & Damon :
“Damon King might reign over Manhattan – but I will never bow to him.”
“I’m making a deal with the devil & I’m all in “
“After a lifetime of being the dutiful daughter – minding my manners – I am intrigued by the darkness Damon has exposed me to “
“ I dared to dance with the devil … & it was worth every excruciating, enthralling moment”
Damon is hired to protect Aislinn when the Los Muertos drug cartel comes calling after Aislinn’s father becomes wrapped up in illegal activities due to his greed and power. Damon has many preconceived notions about Aislinn – proving that she is far from the good girl debutante – resting on her laurels of charities / designer clothing & member of Manhattans’ elite society. There is something she has buried so deep that governs all of her actions & she operates from a place that is only good …
I did not want this book to end & can’t wait to see how the rest of this story unfolds …
Could not put this book down & will definitely be re-reading it’s just SO GOOD!!
Amazing work Tara Leigh !!!
I started reading Tara Leigh books when I found her debut with Netgalley. I was loving her characters and the story line. As I continued to read her stories, the more I became a fan! Cruel Sanctuary is dark and gritty!! I wanted to claim Damon as mine. But that would be cruel. The whole world needs to read this book and meet the devil himself. (But I still have to lay some claim 😉 )
Aislinn was perfect as the heroine. When she was taken aback with Damon, I felt it too. The power he eludes. The darkness Damon lives by, until Aislinn brought him light. The monsters that lurk will have you curl into your blanket. Cruel Sanctuary is the book of the year! The ending gripped me by the throat and I am trying my hardest to wait for the second book in this intense duet! I am a “lifer reader” of Tara Leigh. She poured her heart and soul with this duet and it shows! I am begging for more!
Readers get ready to enter the dark and sexy imagination of Tara Leigh with yes just Part 1 of Cruel Sanctuary a big hot dang is it awesome scream. He is all bad to the bone but like all devils they need an angel to make their heart beat again. Damon is not someone you want to befriend yet the heart cannot be controlled especially when it comes to this bad boy. I loved that he is not what he seems to be but much more. Again part 1 and a cliffhanger but this is one book you cannot pass by Tara Leigh. All in all it is filled with darkness, lies and betrayal showing us how dark Tara Leigh can be with the devil himself.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
