A sexy stand alone arranged marriage romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…I signed on the dotted line. A marriage contract to seal my union with the devil.I thought I knew what I was doing. His money and name were mine for the taking. But Camden Percy always gets exactly what he wants. And what he wants is me—my body, my obedience, my surrender. He wants to break me.But I’m … surrender.
He wants to break me.
But I’m Katherine Van Pelt. I’ll never break. I’ll never beg. I’ll never give in.
Except I promised him one more thing—a baby. A Percy heir.
There’s no way out of this one. Either I comply or lose everything. Do I risk the husband I’m just learning to love or is this my breaking season?

She has done it again! Every time this author puts out a book I become more in awe of her talent! She knows how to put word to paper. I wish I could say I did not put this book down when I started to read it. But unfortunately sleep overcame me. But once I woke up the next day it was game over. I did not get out of bed until I read this book. I became anxious/irritated every time someone would try to interrupt me. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars.
I’ve been loving the Seasons series and this book was my most anticipated book in it. I wanted to love it, but sadly I didn’t. I liked it, I enjoyed it, it was entertaining but I didn’t love it. It might have been the crazy expectations that I had for these characters or the expectations I always have in K.A. Linde’s books, I don’t know.
The buildup to Camden and Katherine’s story was incredible and at first everything was perfect: the game between them, Camden’s darkness, Katherine’s backbone, their chemistry. These characters were multi layered, complex, flawed, freaking amazing but at times it felt like their relationship was the weakest part in their story.
I loved Katherine’s character growth, she was inspiring, strong and so much more than a socialite. There were amazing scenes regarding her character’s growth story line and I loved this part of the book. I really liked how Camden grew through the story and the scenes with his family showed perfectly how much he changed and evolved. There were secrets revealed, family and health issues, and at times if felt too much to keep up with. I also thought that there was no need for that much drama regarding Pen and Fiona, during the previous books there was enough buildup of their influence in Camden and Katherine’s relationship. I would understand if there were drama related to them at the beginning of the book but it was dragged through, at least until 65% I think, and in my opinion it was just over the top. The miscommunication served a purpose at first but it did get repetitive and annoying, I think there were many other aspects that could have been explored a bit more.
I still liked the ending because I loved these characters and of course I was rooting for Camden and Katherine. I loved the epilogue, it was so freaking perfect! Even though I didn’t love The Breaking Season as much as I wanted to, I still enjoyed it. Can’t wait to read Gavin and Whitley’s story.
This book gets ALL THE STARS!!! It’s been one of my most anticipated books for quite some time now. And it absolutely did not disappoint. In fact, it’s now my favorite K.A. Linde book! I hated Katherine in the beginning. Like, loathed her. Same with Camden. But they both intrigued me to no end, so I was dying for their story. Gah! I don’t even know what to say. The journey that I was taken on from complete loathing to utterly in love with these characters was simply amazing. If you’re a fan of this series, then you’re in for real treat. And if you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for. This definitely goes down as a top read this year. Really, it’s a top read ever for me. It’s a must read!
I’m not a huge fan usually of arranged marriage romances, but The Breaking Season has completely changed my mind. Holy Cow, Katherine and Camden are amazing together. I was really nervous to read their story, but how they came to be was so much fun to read.
I will say from the very beginning I was not a huge of Katherine, she seemed to be the “mean girl” you love to hate. Camden, he didn’t know where he fit in the world, he needed Katherine just to get by day to day. Their love-hate relationship made for one heck of ride, so many twists and turns, and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved that K.A. touched on a scary subject, eating disorders, I don’t think people realize what a toll it takes your body and mind. Stick with Camden, I wanted to strangle him sometimes, but by the end of the book, he completely redeemed himself.
You are in for one heck of rollercoaster ride with these two!
I can’t even begin to write this review so that it would justify this story. I am still completely tongue tied after reading this. The Breaking Season is messy, emotional and intense. These characters, that I have not been a fan of throughout K.A. Linde’s series, have become some of my favorites. Their chemistry and story had me fully invested in what would happen to them. I loved every angsty minute of reading this story and could not put it down. I read to way too late or should I say early in the morning going through this book and I am addicted. K.A. Linde never disappoints and I am so excited to see what she has in store for us next!
Linde really knocked this one out of the box. Making us love characters we hated.
I knew Katherine was misunderstood but never realized how bad it was for Camden.
Good job making the bad guys look good!
My Rating:
Type: Standalone (different couple series)
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Marriage of Convenience series
Narration: Dual POV
Primary Characters: Katherine & Camden
I had been looking forward to Camden and Kathrine Story from the time I met them in hating season series. Glimpses of them in several books were too good. I wanted to see how marriage of convenience turn out between two strong headed people.
Books starts with their marriage anniversary date evening where Camden reminds Kathrine that it’s time to fulfill her end of bargain in their marriage. Kathrine isn’t ready for that. I wanted to see how it turns out. They have chemistry and pull towards each other but they are stubborn to accept it. When they call a temporary truce, they understand how well they can be together.
We get to see more of both Camden and Kathrine’s background as well as their feelings. We see their trauma, insecurities, difficulties they face, trust issues and all. I totally loved seeing protective and Jealous side of Camden. Kathrine felt like a strong character from outside but somehow, she didn’t live up to my expectation.
The issues they had with each other were surrounded on miscommunication and them being stubborn to not discuss and communicate at all. Once they decided to do that, they could see things clearly. Character development was good individually; however, I personally felt the relationship development between both lagged a bit. Plot highlights both strength & weakness along with lot of emotional spectrum.
Totally loved Whitley in this. Her advice and prescription to Kathrine was remarkable. It was fun watching the entire group again. Writing style is easy to read and plot moved systematically in 5 parts.
All in all, if you are a fan of marriage of convenience theme story, then this book is a good one-time entertainer for you.
I volunteered to provide an honest review on an advance copy of this book.

3.5 Stars!
Having read The Hating Season back in April of this year I couldn’t wait for the next book! I’ve been looking forward to this couple’s story and I had to pick it up right away. I enjoyed it!
I’m glad that I finally got Katherine’s POV as well as Camden’s and I felt so much with these two along their journey. It wasn’t easy. I wasn’t sure what all was going to happen and that really pulled me into their story
I really liked getting to dig deeper with these two. From how I got frustrated to how their feelings got to me at times, They really brought out my emotions. I liked these two, I just struggled at times to fully connect with them.
Ms.Linde has created another great read! I’m looking forward to picking up what book she releases next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
The Breaking Season is such an apt title for this book for quite a few reasons, however, I won’t reveal any more or it will spoil the story for everyone.
Katherine Van Pelt and Camden Percy, both are from the Upper Eastside of New York but only one now financially stable. Both sign a marriage contract and now a year after their union it is anything but wedded bliss. The tension that radiates off both lead characters is so thick you’d need a machete to cut it. At times I wanted to knock both of their heads together to try to knock some sense into them.
This book has everything in it; wonderful characters that you can easily relate to-even if some were born with silver spoons in their mouths, light humor to make you chuckle and raw emotions to make your heart trip over itself in anger or fear, serious issues that are explored in positive ways, some slight mysteries about Camden’s mother and a few of the other character’s relationship status’ and of course enemies to lovers romance.

While The Breaking Season is a stand alone, I HIGHLY recommend beginning with The Lying Season. Better yet, do yourself a favor and begin with the Cruel Trilogy so you can see the main characters in the perspectives of others.
It’s hard to not immediately label the rich upper east siders Katherine and Camden as the villains as you get to know them in the other novels. The Breaking Season however, shows you a side of them you wouldn’t think existed… considering their marriage was a signed contract, not an act of love. Linde reveals that even the most villainous of people are capable of love and compassion. And the reason for hardened exteriors can be an accumulation of hard experiences. In the end SOMEHOW you fall in love with Katherine Van Pelt the guarded ice queen, and the dark, brooding and possessive Camden Percy. I’m not sure how K.A. Linde did it, I admit I was curious about their lives, but I definitely did not expect to feel this way! Must read!
I’ve been waiting for Katherine and Camdens story and so glad I finally got a chance to read it. Now I absolutely loved Camden but Katherine wasn’t my favorite, towards the end my opinion changed slightly but I just wasn’t crazy about her but I really really enjoyed the story. These two both need something from the other but don’t realize this is something much more then surface and as the story progressed I liked to see them let there walls down.
Truth be told, I wasn’t looking forward to this villain story. I couldn’t imagine how to love these two. As always K.A. Linde turns my world upside down. You can read this as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the others to help tell the rest of the story.
What I loved most is that you truly got to know Camden. He became real to me with almost relatable issues minus the billionaire status and arranged marriage details. He was a man who wanted something but didn’t know how to achieve it. He was so used to getting what he wanted that he didn’t truly know how to just be him. He had to wear the mask of a business man and do just that, create business deals. The business deal was Katherine. She didn’t know what she was in for. Neither did he.
There were times where I wanted to yell at the characters and then others where I wanted to cry for them out of happiness. It wouldn’t be Kyla’s style to not put me on an emotional roller coaster through one of her books.
So many details in this story that make their whole world come alive. I felt we saw more of the progression of their relationship than the other Seasons. We got to know about their families, friends and best of all we watched them grow into the most amazing couple out of this series yet.
I knew I was absolutely going to fall hard for Cam and Katherine’s story. These two run fire and ice! There is such a mystery as to why they hate each other so much when they truly want each other so badly. I loved the heat and chemistry in this book. It was great how Cameron and Katherine really learned about each other and learned to get past some of their past mistakes. It was another great read in this series.
4.5 stars for – The Breaking Season -book three in the Seasons series by KA Linde. This has been my most anticipated book in the series and Kyla did not disappoint when mean girl Katherine and a-hole Camden finally get their say in this arranged marriage romance that has sworn enemies falling in lust among other things.
I absolutely hated Katherine from the very beginning of this series so for the author to be able to have me routing for her to find a happily ever after says so much about how far she has come over the last few books. This girl has been through so much and has to endure even more to make it out the other side but trust has never been something she gives lightly.
Camden has been content being labeled the “bad guy” by his wife’s friends but it’s time they understood exactly how far he will go to get what he wants. He has never been more sure about what he wants from his wife and he’s willing to put everything on the line to prove it.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Camden and Katherine came together in an explosion of what they thought was hateful sex and rage but all it really did was mask their intense feelings for one another. This is Linde at her best and a book I highly recommend!
I have been waiting on Katherine and Camden’s story and man was it worth the wait. I am so glad we got their story. The Breaking Season was amazing and my favorite out these characters.
These two entered into an arranged marriage with both wanting different things. The angst and the push and pull kept me glued to my kindle. I can’t wait to get the audio version and listen to it.
I highly recommend this book!
Well KA Linde just did it again, she made one of heck of a story! Like most people out there we loathed these characters- Camden and Katherine- for good reasons, but wait till you get the full picture and you may just fall in love with them as much as I did! I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others!
Katherine and Camden have an arranged marriage and all seems methodical in life, that is until a vacation will make them come to understand that maybe they are eachother’s make it or break it. Can the Villains become the hero’s in there own story?
Get to one clicking and see what happens you don’t want to miss this one!
Katherine and Camden were worth the wait!
Let me start by saying that I have hated both Katherine and Camden since we met them in the Cruel world. Somehow, Ms. Linde has completely turned these two hateable characters into people you can’t help but root for. We see a vulnerability in the normally brusque Katherine, and a method to Camden’s madness. Don’t get me wrong, they are not people I’d ever cross, but I understand them better and only want the best for this arranged couple. The passion, the fighting, and the constant foreplay make The Breaking Season one that you won’t forget.
Who knew what was hiding behind the armor of Katherine and Camden. They’ve always been larger than life and untouchable. Seeing them grow behind their armor was amazing. I never expected to like either one of them. And that twist at the bar was mind blowing stuff. I loved the story and how they came past all their hurts to discover how much they really meant to each other. The journey definitely wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it.
Hands down one of my favorites of this author, I’ve know this characters from previous books and their story is perfectly written, I was excited for this one and it surpassed my expectations, truly one of the best works I’ve seen this year, the characters chemistry and personality matches perfectly and how the story develops and intertwines with everything is going to leave you swooning and wanting more on this couple, i highly recommend this one
I was planning on not liking Katherine & Camden, but this story was well written. You see the growth and the moments where they change. There is also a small twist, that was great. So much better then I anticipated.
