Unbelievably awesome!! This one just sucked me in from the beginning!!!
Holy wow!! I didn’t think Linde could do it! I didn’t think she could make me love Katherine and Camden!! They were the villains of the story for so so long! I didn’t see how she could make anyone see them in a better light….but holy moly did she ever do it!! I am obsessed with this story! So much angst and heartache. So many secrets unveiled! The Breaking Season pulled me in, broke me completely and then made me utterly swoon! This standalone is one that you surely do not want to miss!! It is amazing and one of Kyla’s best stories to date!! I cannot wait to see what she delivers for me to devour next!!
This series keeps getting better and better! I love the concept of arranged marriages and this doesn’t disappoint. Don’t miss Camden and Katherine’s story.
THE BREAKING SEASON is the third instalment in KA Linde’s contemporary, adult SEASONS erotic, romances series focusing on a group of connected, powerful and well-to-do friends in the Upper East Side of New York City.. This is businessman Camden Percy, and socialite Katherine Van Pelt’s story line. THE BREAKING SEASON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order as their story has been building for several instalments. SEASONS is a spin off from the author’s CRUEL Trilogy where we are first introduced to the players and manipulators of the rich and powerful on the Upper East Side.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Camden and Katherine) THE BREAKING SEASON follows the acrimonious relationship between businessman Camden Percy, and socialite Katherine Van Pelt. Camden Percy and Katherine Van Pelt are a married couple. Katherine’s father destroyed his family, and in the ensuing aftermath Camden offered Katherine a contract to save face, and prevent the family from falling from disgrace but Katherine’s struggling relationship with Camden is fraught with anger, miscommunication, jealousy, and perceived betrayal including the possibility of infidelity in body and heart. With their one year anniversary on the horizon, Camden demands Katherine honor the terms of their contract but not all is well in Katherine’s life. As Camden continues to do battle with his father at work, Katherine’s emotional and physical health slowly spirals out of control. What ensues is the tempestuous and heart breaking relationship between Camden and Katherine, and the potential fall-out as the sins of the father begin to pull Camden under, and Katherine struggles with issues of control.
Katherine and Camden’s marriage of convenience is a bone of contention between one another and their friends. Katherine has been miserable since her father’s destruction of the family’s finances, and Camden’s love for Katherine is masked by the anger and frustrations of a man who refuses to give in or give up. The bitter altercations and accusations are heart breaking and painful. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples: Sam and Larkin (The Lying Season), Anna English and Court Kensington (The Hating Season) , Penn Kensington and his wife Natalie ; Whitley Bowen, Gavin King, Robert Dawson, : Camden’s sisters Candice and Harmony, and their father Carlyle, as well as Katherine’s mother, and Camden’s ex Fiona.
THE BREAKING SEASON is an intense story of family, friendships, betrayal and trust. The emotional premise is edgy ; the characters are wounded, sassy, spirited and lost; the romance is provocative seductive yet tender.
You know when you’re reading a series and you meet certain characters that you just can’t wait for their book, well Katherine and Camden were THAT couple for me!
This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020, it was so worth the wait. Katherine and Camden were everything i wanted in a power couple and more. Enemies to lovers/arranged marriage trope for them had me squeeing!
The Breaking Season follows Camden & Katherine after their arranged marriage & we see how they truly feel about one another. There is angst, anger, revenge, betrayel…and the SMUT…YESSSS PLEASE.
We are introduced to Katherine who you meet in the previous books in this series. She for me was one character that i initially loathed, but my goodness do i love her now! She is just so FIERCE. She’s strong, sassy and everything i want in a heroine. I loved the moments we got to see her vulnerable and behind the cool evil woman facade, and when we got to see who she truly was inside, I completely fell in love.
Now Camden,i loved that we got to see into his mind and see how he worked, he was the one i was most nervous about but i just adore him now. In the previous books he was this mysterious sexy cold hearted bastard, and whilst he was that, we got to see benewth his mask as well and he such a gorgeous guy. His heart beats only for Katherine and just…SWOON.
A fab edition to the series & one of my favourite couples of 2020! If you have yet to read the series (think gossip girl meets fifty shades)i highly recommend reading the books before this as you meet both characters & it sets the tone for their book. I loved how this books shows that just because you might think someone is perfect, doesn’t mean their life isn’t hard or that they’re not going through something.
4/5 stars
This was such an easy and enjoyable read for me. This couple has for sure been the one I was looking forward to the most since book 1. The small moments of Camden and Katherine in The Lying Season made me so excited for their book. And Thankyou K.A. Linde for not disappointing!
In The Breaking Season we follow Camden and Katherine who have an arranged marriage and don’t see eye to eye for most of the time. We start to really follow their story after they are already married.
Camden is a man who basically needs everything to go his way.
Katherine is a more fake it till you make it type of woman.
Both of them are dealing with more than they like to show.
I normally don’t like to read about arranged marriages if it isn’t in the mafia world. But this was so freaking good, I loved the fact that we followed their story after they have already been married for some time. Because of this, the story didn’t slow down at any moment.
What made me love these two together and separately was the fact that when they wanted to do something they did it. There wasn’t a time where Camden or Katherine wanted to say something and didn’t do it. I LOVED that. Sometimes with books the characters want to do or say something but don’t out of fear. Well this isn’t the case with these two, if they have something they want to say they do.
I’m definitely up for a part 2 of Camden and Katharine
This book is edgy, and sexy and all the things a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
By far the strongest installment of the Seasons series, The Breaking Season finally gives us Katherine and Camden’s story, and it is poignant, steamy, and more than a little twisted. And it’s a fun interpretation of the arranged marriage trope. But I would definitely recommend reading the other two books in the series before reading this one so you go into it with a bit of background on their characters first.
I want to give the book a 3.5. I enjoyed this book and have read the previous books in the series however, I still struggled remembering all the characters from the previous books. Please don’t misunderstand me, I still liked the book very much. Camden and Kathryn have a love/hate relationship. Their bantering is truly magical and these two really have something special together despite how their relationship started. They both have things in their paths that is dictating how they are in their current life and relationship. But they learn to support each other and not keep fighting to move forward in their lives, together.
~~TOP 10 RECOMMENDED~~
Yes finally K.A. Linde gives us Katherine and Percy’s story, have to say it’s a WOWZA till the end. In the previous books by K.A. we see Katherine as well the bitch in all the books. The thing is that Katherine is so much more and in her book we see a side of her that she hides from people including well her true friends. Now let me tell you K.A. Linde sure shows us that Katherine is not just a troubled girl but also one filled with demons no one will understand. Percy, however is a man just like Katherine that has his own secrets and boy once his true identity comes out it’s hard to not fall for him. He loves Katherine but afraid to really be himself towards her. He is known as the man always womanizing and yet with Katherine he wants more than just an arrangement. I loved though that even they hate and despise each other on the outside their is a passion inside them that they’re afraid to let it be known. The way they destory each other’s lives and still try to be friends is hillarious because you can tell right away the feelings they have towards each other. All in all this is one book finally worth seeing and K.A. Linde brought these two so beautifully together loved it.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I just love an arranged marriage story and watching the couple fall in love. In this book the couple is already married and are more enemies than lovers, only meeting up when social events dictated.
Camden and Katherine had been friends previous to getting married when Camden gave her an offer she couldn’t refuse. After they got married, there was a time when it looked as though they could make things work between them but too much baggage and mistrust pulled them apart.
Katherine was a character that grew on me. She had her own battles that made her come across quite hard in the beginning but as the story goes on and more is revealed about her, the more you understand her. At this point I will mention possible triggers with anorexia, so beware as it isn’t just mentioned, it’s a big part of the story.
Camden was another character that had many layers, very jealous over Katherine and ever the businessman trying to keep peace with his father. He had his own secrets and didn’t help himself often, but I loved the caring and alpha male he was.
This pair were so frustrating at times building on the angst and although there was hate between them, there was always the burning sexual tension whenever they were together, they just needed some honesty from each other to be able to put their differences aside to be able to look forward.
This is book three in the series and can be read as a standalone and I must admit I’m intrigued by the other couples so I’ll be going back to read them soon. This was a great read that I devoured and I’m already stalking the author for Whitley, she was a hoot!
ARC received for an honest review.

The Breaking Season is the book in K.A. Linde’s Seasons series that I have been waiting for since we first met Katherine Van Pelt in Cruel Money!
Katherine is a socialite. A real ice princess. To the rest of the world, it seems like everything she has ever wanted is at her fingertips. Camden is a master manipulator and always in control. He always gets what he wants and never shows the world what he is feeling or thinking. And, now, their in an arranged marriage . . . a deal meant to benefit them both, even when they don’t even appear to like one another.
Ahhhhh . . . this book was everything! Getting to see the real Katherine and Camden was beyond enlightening and I loved seeing just how much of both their lives were really a facade created for the rest of the Upper East Side. In reality, both are far from perfect. They are both too stubborn and too afraid to let anyone see what they feel which all stems back to the crappy childhoods they both had as they were forced to learn the game of the Upper East Side at a young ages.
The Breaking Season was very emotional as this couple really did need to break each other before building something real between them. K. A. Linde also touched on some serious topics and handled them with grace and dignity. These little plot twists and secrets revealed so much about the couple and I reveled in every little detail that showed them as emotional humans rather than their social statuses. And, without giving anything away . . . Jew is a gem!
This was my favorite of the series by far! 5 stars!
This is the third book in this completely addictive series and this was totally the book I have been waiting for Katherine Van Pelt and Camden Percy’s story and I was certainly not disappointed.
We have been given hints in the last couple of books about this couples dynamic. Theirs was a marriage of convenience but it was starting to look like more than that until it crashed and burned. Now on their year anniversary they need their heads knocked together to stop them from losing what is right in front of them if they are brave enough to step up.
As always KA Linde’s writing was flawless and gripped me from beginning to end. She poured the emotions into this one and dealt with some tough subjects brilliantly. She brought angst, drama, heartbreak, betrayal, pain, love and forgiveness.
Cant wait to see what is brought to us next.
Since reading the blurb for The Breaking Season I knew I had to have it! This book has some of my favotie tropes and the writing was just so, so good!
love-hate releationship
arranged marriage
sizzling chemistry
passion for daysss
aweosme banter
I just loved this couple! Camden and Katherine had insane amountes of chemistry that jumped off the page. Their verbal sparring made me chuckle often and only served to dial up the sexual tension between them. I loved watching them come together and see their fake relationship become something real.

Ever read those stories that had characters that you just didn’t know if they could be redeemable? That’s how I felt about Camden and Katherine throughout this series. There were just so many things that I just didn’t know if it was possible. Well, guess what? They are! KA Linde is a literary genius when it comes to character growth and development. Finally getting the backstory of these two characters will give you that ‘a-ha’ moment and realize why they are the way they are.
I will admit it took me a while to warm up to Camden, but he finally melted my heart and made me love him. Katherine has her reputation to live up to and I realized it’s just a shield to protect herself from everything she has been through. These two really are loyal to a fault and have hearts of gold. Their story touched my heart in a way I didn’t think possible and has definitely made The Breaking Season my favorite in the series.

I received a free copy of this book from the author.
This was a story I was looking forward to reading. That crazy Katheryn Van Pelt and her husband Camden Percy is a book to sink your teeth into.
If you haven’t read the other books before this one – it’s alright – they can be read as standalone’s. However, I would recommend reading the Cruel series as well as the Seasons series in order to get a look at all the players from different POV’s.
So this story features Katheryn and Camden. Katheryn has always gotten on my nerves in the other books. She’s always carried herself as she knew she was better than everyone else and people should just bow to her. Camden is cold, calculated, controlling.
If you look at their marriage of convenience you’d think Camden got the short end of the stick. What could Katheryn possibly bring to the table for him except stigma and attitude?
Whew boy howdy. These two are in for one heck of a ride. The blossoming of their relationship in this book is one you want to watch. It’s like fertilizing a seed and watching it grown into a flower then bloom. By the end of the book I didn’t dislike Katheryn as much as I did at the beginning.
It’s definitely a love story you should read.
This is the third installment in the Season’s Series and the most intense and intriguing!
This is really not a standalone and it warrants reading the books in order.
That said this is Katherine and Camden’s story. They’ve been introduced in prior books and they always seemed so angry and tense.
They made perfect anti hero’s which made me more curious about their story. Yet discovering who they were and why they did the things they did made me love them so much
Their story evolved nicely as we learn their secrets and the reason for their complex and complicated history.
Is their marriage fake or real?
What is the reason and why?
There’s always a reason for things and finding out their secrets made their story so much fun to read.
My most hated couple of this series just became my FAVORITE! Say whaaat? Katherine and Camden were on fire in this book! I loved getting down to their issues and the growth this couple had was incredible to feel!
A fantastic read! I couldn’t wait for Camden and Katherine’s story!!! So full of angst and secrets. Prepare for a whirlwind of emotions! You’ll be hooked from beginning to the end. A definite must read!
4.5 Stars
I was highly anticipating Camden Percy and Katherine Van Pelt story in The Breaking Season. The two villains from the Cruel trilogy intrigued me and I had high hopes to see how their arranged marriage would work out at the end. I was truly blown away by their emotional and angsty story. It was raw and messy, but I enjoyed every minute of it.
The dynamics between Camden and Katherine had always baffled me. It was cleared that they had feelings for each other, but they were too stubborn and were buried too deep in each other’s past to see what was right in front of them. They were both complex characters who had demons from their tragic younger years. They were both hiding behind a façade to protect themselves. It was an honor to watch they peeled off their layers for us so that we could see their true character.
After I finished the Cruel trilogy, I thought I was ready to leave the Upper East side. However, this heartfelt and wholesome book made me want to come back for more. This book had introduced me to a group of interesting and amazing friends that I’ve grown to love. I would definitely find time to go back to the previous books in the Seasons series.
I volunteered to provide an honest review of an advance complimentary copy of this book.
