A sexy stand alone arranged marriage romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…I signed on the dotted line. A marriage contract to seal my union with the devil.I thought I knew what I was doing. His money and name were mine for the taking. But Camden Percy always gets exactly what he wants. And what he wants is me—my body, my obedience, my surrender. He wants to break me.But I’m … surrender.
He wants to break me.
But I’m Katherine Van Pelt. I’ll never break. I’ll never beg. I’ll never give in.
Except I promised him one more thing—a baby. A Percy heir.
There’s no way out of this one. Either I comply or lose everything. Do I risk the husband I’m just learning to love or is this my breaking season?

She did it again y’all! This series is political YUM. Though not totally political with this one it is still in that same universe so I call it that. This is Katherine and Camden. YES. I know. I was DYING for this book too.
I have been dying for this book and these two did not let down. Katherine in the character we love to hate and seeing her story really opened your mind up a bit. This is a villains tory that you are going to love to hate that you love.
I was completely shaken by this read. These two take you for an angsty and emotional ride and in the end you absolutely fail for them. Don’y take my word for it though, read it. If you love to read stories that give you inside into the character you ere sure you hates, here ya go. You wont be able to look away.
This book draws you in and you can’t stop reading. I loved the dynamic of these two and the fact that even tough they had feelings fro each other they also had this loathing for each other based on their own pasts. Perfection. I love this world.
My favourite of the series (so far)!
Camden and Katherine. Yeah, I’d been watching these two for a while. The disdain for others, and almost self-hatred, felt all too uncomfortably real. I watched but didn’t particular care for so imagine how surprised I was by much I loved, loved, loved their story! Talk about characters with hidden depths. Told from both points of view, getting behind the facades of these complex characters was a reading treat…
Katherine had been a core member of the Crew but her distance from almost everyone except Penn was of her own making. She let glimpses slip once in a while, showing a more human and decent side, so while I knew there had to be more I wasn’t prepared for the secrets she hid… And Camden? Well, he had secrets too and while he showed his caring in (granted) diabolical but totally Robin Hood-like ways, he was still hiding a lot. These two together should have been a match made in he** (and it was at times) so I really wondered how it could possibly end well…
This story shone with all the foibles and strengths that Kat and Camden brought to the mix. Grief, shame, they were no strangers to either of them and when they stopped fighting and reached out? Well, they were there for each other and so was the motley crew of friends and family. Let me go on record – it was spectacular…
Buckle up and be prepared for the whole spectrum of emotion and all the wit and sarcasm thrown in for good measure. It was angst-filled, heart-hurting and (eventually) oh so sweet in a style only the Crew and their others could possibly pull off. Fabulous!

K.A. Linde has made a fan out of me with this DELICIOUS arranged marriage romance. I’ll admit, this is a trope I normally avoid but I was blessed with a copy of this book and intended to read it. WOW! I am SHOOK! This book is EXCELLENT! So much more than just an arranged marriage! There’s angst, emotion, and undeniable chemistry! I honestly felt hooked to the pages from the beginning and didn’t stop reading it until I finished the entire book. That my friends is an absolute winner.
Now I need to go back in the series and read all the other books. I’ve been reading the authors work for a while but unfortunately missed her most recent releases, so I need to rectify that immediately. I can’t wait to see what else this series brings. I highly recommend it!
I have been waiting for Katherine and Camden’s book since K A Linde introduced me to these people in One Cruel Night. Elitist, cold, dangerous Katherine and sneering, aloof, menacing Camden are clearly made for each other, even if neither of them will admit it.
Theirs is an arranged marriage. He gets her lineage, beauty, and womb, and she gets his money and access to power. In previous Seasons books, we saw Katherine when she returned from her honeymoon far more interested in her husband than anyone thought she would–or should–be. But then an implosion occurred, so when this book begins, Katherine and Camden are nowhere near their post-honeymoon glow.
K A Linde doesn’t dwell on what got Katherine and Camden to the point where their marriage, such as it is, feels unstable. Instead, she takes you into what is happening now, what the two of them are thinking and feeling now. Yet she also makes it clear that as much as the couple would like to leave their past in the past, they can’t quite escape it, particularly an illness one of them suffered as a teen.
I love the back-and-forth between these two. I love Katherine’s prickliness and Camden’s façade. I love that each is so consumed with their own pretending that they can’t recognize the same in the other. I love when they let their guards down. I love when they are (FINALLY) honest with each other.
The illness subplot is an interesting choice, one I think could have been plumbed a bit deeper. I worry that its outcome almost gets short shrift, but that could be due to my bringing a friend’s experiences with the same condition into my reading. Linde doesn’t pander to a “love conquers all” mentality here, though, which hits the exact right note.
There are some sexy times, and they are every bit as delicious as you’d hope. You were given hints in previous books about Camden and Katherine’s sex life, so watching it play out delivers a powerful quiver. Camden may make you wait for the hot stuff, but when it happens, the wait was WORTH IT.
I love this couple. They are my favorite out of the two series (although Lark and Sam are a close second). Neither is what they want you to think they are, their realities equally (if not more) compelling.
Let me know what you think of Katherine and Camden. I’m not ready to say goodbye to them yet.
The Breaking Season had me at Hello!!!! I mean literally, I was lost in this book since page one. I think I was intrigued by this book since we were first introduced to Katherine Van Pelt. I mean just saying her name out loud makes you kind of feel that you need to be part of the Crew.
So we knew there was an arranged marriage between Katherine and Camden. I loved to hate Camden and Katherine. The Breaking Season title fits this story down to the T!
These two have to break each other down and it gets very messy. Heart wrenching messy. I had to catch my breath a few times.
Ya’all you need to read this story ASAP!!!! I could not put this book down and stayed in my PJs all weekend long hooked on this story!!!!
One taste is never enough. Linde goes from risque to emotional with an intriguing grace that leaves the senses thirsting for more. The Breaking Season is a tantalizing blend of heart, heat and mystery that seems to never end. Camden and Katherine are as alluring as they are broken, yet my heart refuses to let me look away.
Rate: 4,5 / 5 stars
Boy, I have been waiting for this book ever since book one. I knew these two would be freaking amazing. And their story would be angsty. I did not read the Cruel series so there’s probably a ton of backstory on Penn and Katherine that I don’t know… but even from the little that this series has given us, I knew the story was pretty messy and emotional and all three or four parties involved must have residual feelings over it all. And it was plenty clear from what we got to see in previous books that Camden hated Penn and thought Katherine still loved him, which made him act out and ended up hurting Katherine and himself more.
We finally got to see it all happen first hand and even more important, see exactly what truly happened when they fought and Camden disappeared. And guys, there is so much more to Camden than he lets on. We already saw a little bit of his amazing heart in The Hating Season but now we got to see his whole heart, and how much he cared for his friends and for Katherine. It was impossible not love his crazy, possessive, alpha a**. He was frustrating, not very forthcoming with the truth and his feelings but he was freaking amazing. His life was not easy, he migh be filthy rich and have good friends but he had no real family, no one that ever showed him real love.
And then there’s Katherine… there was so much hurt and betrayal in her past, she kept her feelings locked down and did not want to let them free. She faked it. She was the image of ‘fake it til you make it’. And she was faking so much, she didn’t even know who she really was or wanted out of her life but reality and Camden made her question it all and slowly she started letting the real her out of her shell. She invested time and money into real things that would help others and make them happy and in turn make herself happy too. I loved seeing her on that journey, by helping others, she was helping herself too, to change and grow and just be in a better place. There were still a lot of issues unresolved like her arrangement with Camden and other things she was still struggling with from her past but that little ray of sunshine made a difference in her life.
I’m not gonna lie… these two were very frustrating at times, their fights were stupid and it would have all worked out if they just had been honest about their feelings and what they were doing but nope they were both stubborn as all hell and too afraid to open their hearts and be rejected or get their heart broken. So they kept on fighting and having a fake relationship that was a complete mess until someone gave Camden some advice that he tried out and it made things better for a little while but most important of all, it made them both realise that they could be happy together if they gave it a real try.
The Breaking Season was everything I had expected it to be and SO much more. These two gave me all the angst I craved and so much more. There were so many sides of their story, with both their pasts and the people in their lives…it just really made it a wholesome book for me. I loved watching them grow together and as a person, they each had things to get over, to work on and to fight for. I loved watching them work on themselves and on their relationship. It was a frustrating, angsty book with some drama, some shocking revelations but most of all it was an amazing story of love between two people, of self-love and family love, blood related or not. It was just an amazing book with a wonderful group of friends I’ve grown to love and can’t get enough of. I’m looking forward to the next book and to see everyone again, specially how these two are. I mean, that epilogue *Sigh*, I would love to see more of that.
I am so loving this series, 5 breaking stars for this!
They have an arranged marriage. Camden and Katherine are getting married, she’s doing it to keep her status, he’s doing it to fund her status. All she has to do now that they are married a year is give him a child. She’s not ready, all they seem to do is fight, how can it possibly be good to bring a child into this fake relationship. What they don’t want to admit to each other, is that they have feelings for each other. Everyone around them see’s it but them. Can they make this work? Will they give in to their feelings and last? Read this and find out!
I love this series so much! K.A. Linde’s words bring you all the feels throughout this story, I could barely put it down! Don’t miss out grab this one asap!
Sometimes…. when you feel like you’ve been waiting for certain characters story, it is easy to fall short. When you’ve built the characters plot line up in your head, sometimes it can go left when you thought right…
THAT IS SOOOO NOT THE CASE HERE!
This book was everything and more.
Katherine and Camden.
Power couple.
Arranged marriage.
Agreements drafted, future outlined for mutual benefit.
Not only did it not disappoint, it well exceeded what would have been a great story, into the stratosphere of one of my fav books. Ever. Seriously.
I hard core loved this! I wish I could start it over again with blind eyes!
Absolutely amazing. KA outdid herself and she sets the bar high as it is.
Simply adored.
Highly recommend.
K.A. Linde
As we jumped into Katherine and Camden’s story, I felt at home with these characters. K.A.Linde did such a good job with the first two books that I felt right at home with this world that she has created. I have been anxiously awaiting their story since book #1. It was full of the angst, and heartache I was hoping for. Anyone who was a fan of Gossip Girl, I believe, will thoroughly enjoy this series. I find myself thinking of the characters of Gossip Girl while reading this group of friends.
I pictured Katherine and Camden being Blair and Chuck on Gossip Girl.
The Breaking Season can be read as a standalone but I believe that it is best read in order. I feel like you get a bit more of their back story that way but that is just my preference.

I was really looking forward to this book! If you’ve read any of this series than you HAD to be wondering what was going on with Camden & Katherine. This book was well worth the wait.
There is so so much more going on with this couple than you think. Katherine was beyond different from what I had gathered from previous books. I loved learning about her background.
Camden was possessive as hell. Like wow! Haha it was great! I would have loved more about these two for sure. Plus I loved getting glimpses of the rest of the crew.
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.

What an AMAZING addition to the Seasons series by K.A. Linde.
I have to be honest I was nervous to read this book, I almost passed it up. I am so glad I didn’t and took a chance on Katherine and Camden being redeemed. I honestly thought that no matter what I read in this book, Katherine and Camden would always be villains in my mind. I have never been so happy to be wrong!!! I LOVE Katherine and Camden so much after reading their story. They are actually such a fantastic couple….Who would’ve guessed?!?!?!?
K. A. Linde knocked this one out of the park. I had my heart on such a roller coaster ride with the book. I was happy and laughing (thanks to Jem) and then I was mad and yelling at my kindle, but as the story played out my heart broke for both Katherine and Camden. I didn’t realize everything that went into their back stories.
Both of these characters were such complex characters and I loved unveiling everything about them. K.A. Linde actually touched on a subject that is a serious problem among our youth today. I don’t really want to say much more than that. This is a story that really needs to unfold for each reader.
The Breaking Season is the latest standalone novel in K.A. Linde’s Seasons series. It is the third book in this series but is a complete standalone. I would recommend reading these books in order….I feel the reading experience is better that way, especially since these characters are so intertwined in each others lives.
I don’t feel my review can do this story justice, so just trust me….You WANT to read this book. Make sure to add this to your TBR list and 1-click it once it releases. This is one of my favorites of 2020!!!
Katherine and Camden were everything!! this is the best book that Miss Linde has ever written! everyone needs to read this incredible book! Katherine’s journey wasn’t an easy one, but with the right person beside her, it made everything fall into place! these two were hot and cold at times, but when they were hot, they were HOT! I had to read it in one sitting!
If I could give this book 500 stars I would do it in a heartbeat – it was that AWESOME!! Signing on the dotted line gives Katherine the money she needs to keep up her lavish lifestyle, but it also comes with a marriage of hate and mistrust. But when the walls come down and Camden shows her a different version of himself can they actually find more in the contracted relationship? or is he just luring her into a false sense of security and going to break her in more ways than one? I absolutely loved these characters and the give and take of the storyline had me on the edge of my seat. Hoping for a HEA but afraid of the outcome. From the opening pages to the very end this is a masterpiece!!
