Watch Natalie get revenge in her new dark and glamorous life on the Upper East Side in the conclusion to USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde’s billionaire romance Cruel Trilogy.Darkness swept in.Smothering everything in its inky black.I have turned into their worst nightmares. And I will not rest until they pay.For everything.
I devoured this sizzling conclusion to Natalie and Penn’s story!
Holy backstabbing Batman! I absolutely loved this conclusion, it was juicy and passionate. We see what has become of Natalie after the deception from the previous book. As much as I liked her in previous books because of her strength, there were times in Cruel Legacy that I was left breathless in how she dealt with the crew and the Upper East siders. She was powerful, and not someone I was anticipating her to be. This story was full of redemption, as well as sorrow. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic trilogy!
Well this is a bitter sweet review to say the least! This story was a roller coaster ride of emotions and had me guessing what was going to happen next. It definitely surprised me in many ways and left me wanting so much more! The Crew will forever be in my heart I am just glad it doesn’t end with Nat and Penn’s story. The Lying Season is up next and its all about Sam and Lark! EEP can’t wait! But for this book alone I would give it a 4.5 stars and highly recommend to anyone.
Nat And Penn have been through a journey together, but coming into this story I had one question in mind… how will Nat ruin the lives of the upper east side and where will that leave her and Penn?? Well you need to one clicking to see what happens because I guarantee you don’t wanna miss this one! Ive said it before in reviews on this series but if you like gossip girl and cruel intentions this book will be your new favorite go to series.. it is that good!
Get your clicking fingers going like you did on amazon prime day!
I received a free copy of this book from the author.
If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, you MUST read them to understand this one.
In this third book of the trilogy Natalie is bent on getting revenge on the two people from the Upper East Side that hurt her the most. What she didn’t count on was the trickle down effect her actions would have. I don’t think anyone ever does, personally.
So with her plans set in motion Natalie and Penn are learning how to actually be a real couple. There’s two faces one wears in the Upper East Side – game face and their real face. You just have to learn which one is which. You also have to know when to be “on” and when it’s okay to be “off.”
I think these two characters had their eyes opened to a lot of what was going on in their lives in this book. Penn is not innocent, by any means. Natalie has turned into someone you might not recognize…she sure doesn’t.
Everything is resting on the edge and the tipping point is coming as quick as a the bullet train. It’s time for these two characters to decide what’s important to each of them.
I think this has been a great story overall. I absolutely loved Penn and Natalie and how their relationship began all over again after all those ups and downs they had starting from the first book.
This last installment had some really great twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming but it sure made it a damn good ending to this turmoil of socialites and rich people.
I just couldn’t get enough and the sexy times between Penn and Natalie were so well worth their wrath and convoluted love.
I have to say that Penn and Natalie have become a favorite couple of mine this year and there was some hateful characters in this series as well but it wouldn’t be a great book if we didn’t have villains to make it more interesting right!
This series is definitely a must read!
In Cruel Legacy Penn and Natalie’s journey comes full circle.
Natalie’s character development was incredible over the course of this trilogy. I loved seeing her strength, determination and resilience but also her ability to be self aware and accept her own faults when she has an epiphany regarding her life and choices she’s made.
The relationship Penn and Natalie share as in the previous books is quite tumultuous with their fair share of ups and downs.
Full of twists and turns, secrets and surprises you are sure to be captivated by this engaging and captivating conclusion to the Cruel Trilogy.
Well, they say, if you can’t beat them, join them. And that’s exactly what Natalie Bishop’s done. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes of the fire ignited by the Upper East Siders, Natalie is not about to go down without a fight. And she knows just how to give them a fight that they will never forget. But in her quest for revenge, will Natalie lose herself?
The Cruel series by author K.A. Linde is a study in the art of the game. Reading these books is like having a reality show on loop, with drama galore, and shenanigans that you just can’t look away from. As Natalie evolved into the newest version of herself in this last book, I found myself wondering whether there would be the redemption that I was looking for, anything that made the Crew less monstrous than they appeared to be. The intrigue, the backstabbing, the non-stop drama had me waiting and wondering.
Kyla keeps the reader guessing right up until the very end, with twist after turn after jaw-dropping revelation, and the build-up is both nerve wracking and delicious. In the end, she delivers with her usual flair, making both the climb up the rollercoaster and the sheer drop worth every single minute, giving the perfect wrap-up to this series.
This was such a great ending to Natalie’s story, she had suffered so much at the hands of The Crew in books 1 and 2 but now is her chance for revenge. She has had enough of the elite of The Upper East Side and them being able to do things with no consequences to their actions. In book two she walked away from New York to regain some her life and dignity back but while she was falling apart she decided that she would show them she wasn’t broken and she would bring them to their knees. In this book she comes back to New York to seek her revenge and she enlists the help of an old friend. Natalie gets her revenge on a few of The Crew but while doing that she slowly losing pieces of her former self. So she has to decide if her plans to seek revenge is worth losing who she truly is or can she find the balance to be who she is deep down and a social elitist. I don’t want to spoil too much but I will say I was extremely happy how it ended and how Natalie handled herself and who she ended up trusting and realized she loved all along.
Cruel Legacy was the final chapter from Penn and Natalie. A slow burn romance with the twists of mind game. Love and enemy were created as the game goes. I think this story had brought the strength for Penn and Natalie to grow. Natalie had surprised me!
This is the much awaited conclusion to the Cruel Trilogy. You need to read Cruel Money and Cruel Fortune first.
I enjoyed Penn and Natalie’s journey. Like I said in my previous reviews, it’s a cross between Cruel Intentions, Gossip Girl and Dynasty.
It was thrilling and frustrating but also sexy and exciting at the same time. My only complain is those last couple of chapters when Penn overreacted over Natalie’s actions. It’s not like he’s not used to those kind of behavior in his world or it’s not as if he was kept in the dark or caught unaware… like I said, his reaction was exasperating. And as a normal person with trust issues, I don’t think I can blame Natalie at all… I don’t know you guys, you be the judge. It’s probably just me.
For the fans of Erin Watt, Allie Everhart and Tijan, this is the book to pick up.
Have to say I am sad to see this series end, Penn and Nat just got to this readers heart. It was like a movie come to life with The Crew, Nat and Penn and all the betrayal. We see a side of Natalie nobody wanted to see even Penn himself. I loved seeing Nat fight back becoming ruthless with no feeling kicking ass yet scary in a way in how she gets her revenge. All in all this was a great series by K.A. Linde and cannot wait to see what is next.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
Finally got the conclusion and even though I have mixed feelings it was still very good. Natalie got her revenge but it came at a price and Penn changed a little but was still all about his crew. I understood where both were coming from BUT I sides more with Natalie and with the incident towards the ending I disliked Penn. I felt like he needed to be neutral in this situation but to me he wasn’t. And I also felt bad for Natalie but I disliked that at the end she wasn’t as strong as I wanted her to be. The chemistry and growth between her and Penn I did enjoy and I actually wanted more out of them but it is what it is. Lewis and Katherine got what they deserved and I enjoyed it. Some secrets were revealed of other secondary characters that made me gasp and I was like omg what now. Overall great ending for these two. Now on to Lark!!!
4.5 stars
Holy roller coaster!
What a great conclusion to the Cruel series. Natalie is out for revenge… Penn is happy to have Natalie back. It was great to see the growth in their relationship and see the outcome.
This book packs it all with a flavorful punch. You have steamy sexiness, romance, revenge, guilt, stubbornness, secrets….
So, will Natalie end up being like those she despises? Can she learn to move on/let go?
What happens in the end? Definitely one-click this now… you won’t be disappointed,
A clever, talented writer coming up with a plot inspired by a heartfelt need for the seeming catharsis of revenge? Could be a book that Natalie would write! Can Natalie’s sweetness and heart survive the fall out from the machinations of Lewis and Katherine?
In this last, stunning book about the complex lives of the Crew and the love affair between Natalie and Penn, many chickens are looking for a roost that will bring satisfaction, but life and love are just never that simple.
This is a stunning finale! My heart was in my mouth for a huge amount of the time as the events unfolded. With its taught plot and vivid depiction of the characters’ interactions, Cruel Legacy is a book to which, along with its companion novels, I will undoubtedly return in order to read them back to back. Fabulous!
A cruel twist of fate has been the playground for two battered hearts. Natalie and Penn have finally reached the end of the line, but which way will their story go? Cruel Legacy is not just a romance. It’s a masterful mind game that grabs hold of your heart. The Cruel series is an addictive look at love in all of it’s glory. From beautiful heartache to ugly obsession, Linde captivates, frustrates and navigates through an all consuming darkness that seems to have no end in sight.
If you were worried about Penn and Natalie at the end of Cruel Fortune, you should know that K A Linde doesn’t take her foot off of that gas pedal in this conclusion to her Cruel series.
Penn has grown throughout the three books. He learns from his mistakes, he strives to be a good man, and he wants to both deserve Natalie’s love and be someone she deserves in return. It isn’t always easy for him; selfishness and ruthlessness are ingrained in him, after all. They are the two emotions he knows best. But Linde left him on the right path in Cruel Fortune, and she keeps him focused in this book.
The problem is Natalie. Alexandre Dumas’s The Count of Monte Cristo heavily influences Cruel Legacy, with Natalie taking the role of Edmond Dantes, the character out for revenge. So focused is Natalie on vengeance that she risks losing the very humanity that attracted Penn. There are times when you will be terrified for her, wondering if she will forget who she is.
The good news is that she and Penn are together in this book, although not necessarily as a couple. They may have the same goals, but their ways of reaching those goals diverge.
The supporting cast steps forward. We have a chapter from Katherine’s POV, as Linde continues to flesh out Natalie’s nemesis. We also get to know Lewis better, as well as Jane and Lark. Natalie learns who to trust and who to keep at a distance, and sometimes those lessons are painful.
The big question Linde, much like Edmond Dantes, is whether revenge is worth it. When is enough enough? When can you go too far? And how do you stop from losing who you are in the process? You will read parts of this book with your stomach doing flip brought on by nerves and other parts with those flips brought on by arousal. The sexy times are FANTASTIC. K A Linde infuses intimacy with tension, making you both swoon and scream.
This is my favorite K A Linde trilogy. I love its gleeful deviousness, its emotion, its passion, and its characters. She lands a perfect ending with Cruel Legacy, although I am going to miss Penn terribly. Hit up the comments and let me know what you think of Penn, Natalie, and the crew.
4.5 stars–CRUEL LEGACY is the third and final instalment in K. A. Linde’s contemporary, adult CRUEL erotic, romance series focusing on thirty year old, philosophy professor Penn Kensington, and twenty-five year old writer Natalie Bishop. CRUEL LEGACY should not be read as a stand alone as is picks up immediately after the events of book two CRUEL FORTUNE.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Penn and Natalie) and one chapter by Katherine CRUEL LEGACY is the culmination of 8 years of secrets, lies, and deception; and a game where revenge is ugly, and the fall-out even more so. Eight years earlier Natalie Bishop was a pawn in a game between the spoiled, uber rich kids of the Upper East Side. Fast forward seven years wherein Natalie would come face to face with the people that destroyed her life, intent on destroying their lives in return. But all did not go according to plan when our heroine was once again the victim of betrayal and vengeance by the same people who had broken her years before. One more year would pass and our heroine would come to terms with what happened, falling in love with one of the game players but a love that balanced precariously on the edge when vengeance set in to destroy them all. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Penn and Natalie, and the fall out as Natalie sets a plan into motion determined to seek vengeance against those who did her wrong.
CRUEL LEGACY is a story of discrimination, deception, and retribution; of secrets, lies, antagonism and retaliation; ;of heart break, mistrust, misrepresentation and love. K. A. Linde pulls the reader into one woman’s battle to stay one step ahead, as the world continues to pull her down-one step forward, two steps back until the final fall-out wherein everyone will suffer when karma’s aim hits its’ mark. The premise is dramatic and intense ; the characters are tragic but energetic; the romance is passionate but built upon a foundation of mistrust, secrets and lies.
Utterly intriguing with rivalry, revenge and this being the final and third book in the series brings the story full circle! You must have read the first two books first as these are stories you must read in order!
So much goes on and my heart was beating so hard, I just knew deep inside that something would happen, what, I had no idea but it all captured my attention that I finished it in one sitting!
Talk about feeling like you were watching a tv show but the storyline grabbed me from beginning to end and when I finished I wondered….what on earth now?
The author has penned a story that is gripping, full of steam and absolutely amazing as well as a brilliant conclusion to the Cruel series!

Holy Cow!!! K.A. Linde outdid her self with Cruel Legacy. She saved the best of the three books for the last. Even though I loved the first two books, Cruel Legacy was everything I hoped it would be and more!!! I devoured this story.
This book is filled with more angst, deception, lies, secrets and romance. Everything we read in the first two books comes to an end in this story. Cruel Legacy picks up right where Cruel Fortune ends. This ending was so intriguing I had a hard time putting it down. I truly couldn’t read it fast enough.
As with the other books, I can’t say much about the storyline, you need to let it all unfold for yourself. But I will say that this is NOT a standalone novel. Cruel Money and Cruel Fortune MUST be read before reading Cruel Legacy. This story is told primarily from Natalie’s POV but we do get some chapters in Penn’s POV also. This book really brought this cast of characters full circle 😉
I can also say that I think I fell in love with Penn and Natalie even more in this book. This is a couple I couldn’t help but want to root for them to get their HEA. Right from the start I wanted them together and to make it through all the drama. This book has ups and downs for both Penn and Natalie, but I loved watching them wade through all the challenges to see if they could come out stronger in the end.
Speaking of the end…..I LOVED it. I felt the author wrapped up this story perfectly. You truly are left with no unanswered questions and I had the biggest smile on my face.
There really is nothing else I can say about this book/series. Just trust me and read this trilogy!!! It is for sure one of my favorites of 2019!!!!
