Cruel Intentions was a thrilling read, full of lust and hate. It was twisted. I really couldn’t get enough! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A must read!
I loved this book. The characters pull you into the story and make you feel like they do. The main characters goes through some much, that you wonder, how much more can they go through.
I won’t give anything away, because I believe that it should be read. But it is a cliffhanger
Oh my goodness!!!! Firstly be warned there are many triggers of abuse and bullying in this book! My, oh my!!! I ADORE the main character of Abigail!!!! For what this young lady has endured her entire life, and especially what happens in this book…. Hats off to her! Time and time again she remains fierce and true to herself. Definitely NOT your typical bully book, and boy does it leave you wanting more, more, MORE!!! Abby grew up in great wealth, but FAR from a pampered princess. She and her twin Drew attend an elite school and are part of “The Elite”, aka those that run the school. Against her will, at age TEN she became engaged to a fellow elite…the last person on earth she’d want to be with. At the lowest point in her life she meets a random, hunky stranger that she thought she never see again. SURPRISE!!! Guess who shows up as a new student? All kinds of games are afoot, and our Abby is at the center. Desperately trying to keep her head above water and figure who are friend of foe. Can she trust anyone? Even her twin is suspect in her heart of hearts. Layers of deception, betrayal and intrigue continue to unfurl page after page. Will Abigail gain her freedom? Can she trust anyone? Is everyone playing her? Dive into this EPIC read!!! I cannot wait for book two, because you will scream for more after the final word ends on a massive cliffhanger. Well played Ms Davis… Well played
I really enjoyed reading this book. The Elite families in this twisted literary universe are all after power, even if it means throwing their children to the wolves for the sake of maintaining supreme power among their communities.
This book is high on the steaminess scale, and there are so many true identities being hidden in this book you might find it challenging to keep track of who turns out to be who by the end of the book. If you enjoy sexy stories set in dark and dangerous situations involving high school age individuals that seem to keep you guessing, this book is right up your alley.
Siobhan Davis is one author who never disappoints and she delivers a stunningly dark romance whose setting is the cultish city of Ryderville. Established in the 1700s by 4 families whose businesses grew and flourished into billion dollar corporations, these same businesses have been passed to the next generation of the same family. They are the old money Elite, whose wealth and standing are transferred to their children through arranged marriages and who follow the life that their parents force them into with rules that no one challenges. Even in school, the Elite children establish the rules of where to sit, who to sit with, how to treat them, and they go unchallenged. Until the day the New Elite arrive with cocky attitudes, a bravado never before seen, exuding total power. The other students are curious about them and really want to interact with them, but they know the rules. The Elites, Abby, Drew, Trent, Jane and Charlie find themselves facing an unknown in the New Elites. Cam, Sawyer and Jackson encroach on the Elite’s territory with the goal of taking their power, wealth and reputation for themselves. At least, that’s the rumor. In reality, the truth is much more complex. An incestuous thread ties all of these families together in a sordid and cruel history. While the New Elites seek revenge, the Elites find answers and long-held fears are validated. As the story gets darker and more murderous, it’s unclear as to who is working together to take down those guilty of evil acts. Drawing to a close, treachery is uncovered and the truth may not be the truth after all. Siobhan Davis has written a wonderful book that creates and holds its mood, pace and form from the first page to the last.
“My heart jackhammers in my chest, and I hate that his spiteful words and harsh glares hurt so much.
Hate he’s tarnished the one good memory I had.
Hate it’s like everything else in my life—one giant lie.”
Trent, Drew, Charlie and Abby control Rydeville High. Heirs of traditional families with a lot of power, money and important surnames, they rule the hallways of the school with iron fists, their orders are laws, nothing is contested and standing against them is synonymous with your life turn into a hell.
Drew and Abby are twins and sons of the most obnoxious father. Even teenagers and still high school seniors, the two are engaged, because an old family rule so dictates. And the respective suitors were chosen by their father, based on an agreement to further benefit the family. And with that, Abby ends up stuck with Trent, a playboy who has no respect for her and treats her like an object he owns.
On a night of despair, Abby bewildered and no longer putting up with her life, decides to take a drastic action, being saved by a handsome stranger. Full of pain, anger and fear, she decides to take advantage of this free night and determined to create a good memory by her own choice and something that she can hold on to in difficult times, she decides to give her virginity to this stranger. Until dawn comes and she leaves without a trace.
But if her life is a hell, she can not show it to anyone. Appearance is the foundation of the society where she lives, and maintaining a calm, neutral facade is what her father expects. Even though inside she is suffocating and dying little by little. And the arrival of three new students, equally wealthy but without the traditional family so dear, will shake the structures of this school. And put Abby in the face of her worst nightmare.
Camden, Sawyer and Jackson hide a secret and are willing to dethrone the old elite of Rydeville High. With the trip of her brother, fiancé and friend for a retreat along with their respective fathers, it is up to Abby to defend their position. But if she thought it would be easy, she was wrong.
Camden will be her worst tormentor, and she will be threatened. humiliated and even beaten. Not to mention the secret he knows and if it comes to public will be the end of her. The war is just beginning. The rules will not be fair and only the strong will survive. But who will stand?
At first the book may seem like a story about teenagers fighting for power. Big mistake. I was too surprised by the reading. These teens act, plan, threaten, and behave like adults. The world where they live is cruel. But if they are key pieces in this power war, in fact they are mere pawns of their parents. Expect turnarounds, murders, lies. It’s hard to trust anyone.
Abby’s father is despicable, misogynist and evil. The office scene, where he subjected her to such humiliation and abuse was hard to digest. The fathers are the great villains of the plot, the motivation is more shocking and more complex than it looks. And Abby is the prey at the center of all this confusion.
The book ends in a cliffhanger, this is the first part of a trilogy. The author took a darker and more dangerous path, but the result was brilliant.

: Hold please. I need to calm myself because these scenes are HOT. We get going in the prologue, peeps. And while the action takes a hiatus for a bit, it allows for tension to build and everything comes back FULL FORCE. I’m giving this out of five. While not every scene gets a full description, we do get plenty! There’s some variety. And SO MUCH steam. Gimme the alpha goodness ALL. DAY.

5+ Stars
I loved the secrecy, depravity and unpredictability of school bully/secret society stories. As usual, I went into the story blind with the book blurb as my only knowledge of the book. Cruel Intentions hit my expectations out of the park. I was not expecting the manipulation, transgression and wickedness in the Rydeville High Elite world and I’m loving every single word from the beginning to the end.
I’m amazed in how the story was so thoughtfully plot out. The story followed a group of teenagers and their families with the majority of the story centered on Abby and Camden. The perfect pace and meticulous introduction of the characters made it easy to follow and connect. The non-stop drama and angst kept the story interesting and engaging. Be warned, this book contained some disturbing scenes that were difficult to read without cringing and cussing.
There were so many secrets, lies and betrayals. All the clues were carefully hidden between the lines and every action was carried out with a purpose. When I thought I know the truth and who to trust, something would come up to test my confidence. The intricacy of the story kept me guessing and pulled me deeper into the Rydeville High Elite world.
The shocking cliff-hanger raised so many questions. I still cannot tell who is telling the truth, who could be trusted, who is the main player and who is the prawn. Cruel Intentions kicked off the Rydeville High Elite series with a bang. I’m salivating for more and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
I received an advance reviewer copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
It’s my first book by Siobhan Davis, and she just go herself another fan. This book was dark, twisted, with amazing characters, I love bullies and enemies to lovers romance and this book has everything. I devoured this book. Rydeville High is been run by four families, now a new group wants to take over. You will get bullying, steamy hot scenes, and everything you love in a series with angst and drama to get you on the edge and keep you enticed. I can’t wait for the next book.
HOLY MOTHER OF BOOK LOVERS! I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK! I voluntarily received an ARC of this book so here’s my honest review. It’s like a rollercoaster ride that goes straight up and then starts falling straight down then goes around loop after loop then shoots straight out and curves on it’s side and you feel so scared your heart is racing and your stomach is in your throat but you’re so excited you never want it to end. This story is so intense that I was on the edge of my seat from the very first page. The more you read the more you’re pulled in. At first my heart was breaking for poor Abigail wondering what could be so terrible to make her feel the way she is. Then you meat Drew who’s Abby’s twin brother and Jane who’s Abby’s best friend and Drew’s fiancee. Trent who’s Abby’s fiancee and is THE biggest most arrogant asshole ever. And there’s Charlie who’s the sweet silent one but you know there’s something else to him that he keeps hidden. I couldn’t put the book down. More than once I almost peed my pants. Lol!Then you meet the New Elite, Cam, Jackson and Sawyer which leaves you scratching your head thinking WTF?There are several key characters in this story so be prepared because the secrets and backstabbing at times gets absolutely and had my mouth hanging open thinking HOLY SHIT! Just when you start to feel a certain way about one of the characters something happens and makes you change your mind. The suspense is so intense I had to pause several times to let my mind catch up with everything that was going on. There are surprises and twists around every corner and I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! 🙂 when the secrets start unfolding it’s mind blowing. Abby and Drew’s father is Satan incarnate. He’s just plain evil. I don’t want to give away too much so I leave you with this. At times I was laughing out loud then at times I was crying so hard I couldn’t see to read. The suspense is intense and the mystery is exciting. Oh, and the sex is off the freakin charts. I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE. But be warned it ends on a cliffhanger but it’s OH SO WORTH IT!
I’m not going to lie. This book was really hard for me the first 25%. There were a couple scenes that made me want to stop reading. But I’m happy I didn’t stop. It really is a good book.
The story is told from Abogail’s POV. We don’t get a glimpse of what the other characters are thinking. Which makes it hard to know who’s on what side.
This book will have you questioning a lot of things. You won’t know from one page to the next who you should be rooting for and who you want to have locked away.
I don’t want to say too much about this book because I don’t want to spoil anything. Just know that there is some very difficult scenes in this book. It’s hard to look passed them. But in the end I hope everyone gets what’s coming to them. And it’s going to be a long 4 month wait to read how this whole thing goes down. At least we get another part in August, which is 2 months away.
I loved this book so much!! Siobhan never fails to get my heart racing and take me on ride of twists and turns that I can’t forget! I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time after with the hangover I have.
I couldn’t put it down. Every page kept me hanging on. I needed to know what would happen next.
The chemistry between Abigail and Cam was red hot even through their hate.
I loved the smartass and witty come backs between them as well.
Then there’s Jackson! I swear I went to highschool with that boy He was the comic relief even with the dark elements. I might have loved him to much… in a weird twisted way…
Now lets talk words! It was so well written I felt like I was there and I even shed some tears at some points because it felt so real. I felt every ounce of Abbys pain.
I loved Abigail too, she had such strength that you can admire. She kept holding on, fighting back even after her heart kept getting ripped to pieces.
Now im on pins and needles for the next book! August is too far away!
I highly recommend this book, especially if you love bully romances.
In the power struggle between two elite groups, one feisty girl will bring them to their knees…
This book is Everything! I’m absolutely in awe right now. GAH! This is by far the best start to a new series I have read in a long time. So with that said, you should know going into this, that book one here ends on a MAJOR cliffhanger!
Now, our main girl Abigail/Abby is the most popular, perfect rich girl in school. Everyone wants to be her, wants to be here friend and worships her, or they pretend to because the wrath of not supporting her is unbearable. You can’t help but to feel utter heartbreak and devastation for this girl. She is not evil in her heart by nature, it is what she is forced to do. Her entire life is already mapped out for her, and it’s NOT the life she would choose. In an act of desperation she makes a decision that will later comeback to haunt her in ways she could never have imagined. Now, Camden/Cam was everything you would want in your bad boy anti-hero. You hated everything about him as much as you simultaneously kind of secretly loved it! He was ruthless, yet you could see just a hint of sweetness underneath the cruel exterior. The power struggle between the two of them was off the charts and unexplainable. You just have to read it to experience it’s magnificence. It seemed as though Cam had a plan all along. I had this feeling through the book, that there were things going on we weren’t aware of. It always felt like everyone was hiding something. This book was amazing in its way of making you have such hatred for these bad boys and then bringing them full circle into bad boys with hearts of gold, then BAM!! WTH!! Wait, What?!? Are they good guys after all? Just when you think you have something figured out, the author throws you for a complete loop, knocks you off your rocker, and you have to start again. IT.IS.FABULOUS! This book is full of yummy delicious mystery, angst, cruelty, suspense, hot and heavy slap ya Granny kinda sexy tension! the setting was high school students , but they seemed so grown up for their ages, I guess it’s the posh, rich lifestyle? Lol
Our heroine was a tough cookie all things considered. I absolutely cannot, I mean cannot wait , for the next book! This book deserves all the stars If you love bully romances, I think you will absolutely love this. Everything about it was SO beautifully written. You could feel every emotion along with the characters. I definitely had some moments of waiting to throw my kindle across the room. I wouldn’t dare, but wanted to for a second. Or at least crawl into it and throttle some of the characters. Until next time! Happy Reading!
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!
First book in a brand new series by Ms Davis and wow, what a start! It has everything you’ve come to expect from this great author – steaminess, hot guys, a sassy female lead, messed up families, revelations and basically, an unputdownable read. This one has an extra touch to it , a sort of Great Gatsby setting. Old elite, new elite. Love this concept.
As I said before, Abby, our female protagonist, is a force to be reckoned with, yet at the same has her fragilities. Cam really does push her buttons, in more ways than one!!! Drew, her twin, hasn’t got the same force of character. Minor characters stand out especially bestie Xavier, one of my favourites.
Overall, a roller coaster of a story which left me wanting more. Cliffhanger ending!
Be warned sensitive matters are dealt with including some hard hitting scenes. Thought provoking and riveting at the same time. A must read!
I received an ARC from the author .
Oh. My. God. Where do I even begin with this book? I know that authors put a piece of their heart into every book but I’m pretty sure this one took a piece of mine as well. Abby is an incredibly strong FMC which can sometimes be hard to find in a bully romance. She’s not one to just roll over and I can’t help but to envy her. And Cam. Oh Cam. Can I keep him for myself? You just can’t beat the chemistry those two have and they will suck you right into this book.
5 twisted stars for Cruel Intentions by Siobhan Davis! This is book one in the Ryderville High Elite series. Let me start by saying this book starts off with a bang and finishes with one hell of a cliffhanger. I have read a lot of Siobhan Davis’s books and this one has got to be my favorite. This book will pull you in and lock you in until the very last page. Honestly it has been a few days and I am still thinking about what is to come in this series.
“I’m nobody. I’m invisible. I don’t exist except to obey their commands.”
Abby wants to do something for herself and something she doesn’t want anyone else to control. When she meets a boy on the beach, when she is at her lowest. She makes a choice that day that will affect her in more ways than one. Little does she know everything well come to light sooner than she thinks.
Abby, her brother Drew, Trent and Charlie are the leaders at Ryderville High. They are old money and control everything in their world. Trent is Abby’s fiancé, who she can not stand. He is a prick, who takes what he wants. His father and Abby’s father made a deal, that Abby must remain a virgin until their wedding day. This two are being forced into an arranged marriage. Abby just wants out; she is tired of just being seen as nothing better than a helpless woman. In comes Sawyer, Jackson and Camden. They are new money and out make waves at Ryderville high. They want to take the reins from the Ryderville Elite, the question is why. It doesn’t make anything better for Abby when she sees Camden, who she learns is the boy from the beach. However, he is different, he seems to hate her.
I don’t want to ruin anything, because the best part of this book is the shock you get when you discover the truth of what is really going on. This book will shock you, make you cry, there where even times when I cringed, but it is worth every felling I got while reading this book. I am telling you, you will regret not reading this book.
The Elite rule and she might be on the inside but shes still a pawn. A princess trapped in a tower, promised to another, no freedom, no room for flight.
Her heart aches to rebel, to live as she wants to and not as she should.
She meets him on a night of sadness, gave him a precious gift promised to another. Will she come to regret it?
He didnt know who she was, but now he does hatred burns bright within his very soul every time he sees her.
Shes everything he despises, but theres something about her. Shes hiding something.
Can he crack her open before the ball drops and ruins them all …
My heart is beating wildly, wowsers!! what an ending to a mind blowing read.
From start to finish the air was fraught with excitement and passion both of love and hatred.
Plans to annihilate and devastate, puzzles and mysteries, relationships and power plays, this book is seriously gripping, intense and very dramatic!
The guys are all powerful, each with an agenda to fulfil their individual needs. The girls are dolls all except for one. Shes the key player to all and sundry.
Siobhan has exceeding all my expectations for this by a mile and a half!
I knew it was going to be good as I’ve read previous books of hers but Oh my God! She well and truly hit the ball out the park and I can’t wait for the story to continue!!
When the new elite show up at Rydeville High Abby’s life will be turned up side down. Abby is drawn into the group of boys determined to get revenge on her father. What the boys don’t realize is, that if they told her of their intentions, she would willing participate in her father’s downfall. Her father made an agreement with a business associate when she was 10 years old, Abby will be forced to marry the son of the associate when she turns 18. The problem is, Abby can’t stand her fiance, he is a bully and abusive, just like her father.
Wow, I loved this book, these characters are absolutely driven and take extreme measures to make sure their plans for revenge will succeed. OMG, this book kept me on the edge of my seat, and up until the early hours of the morning, from the first page to the last. Fantastic read with betrayal, murder, extreme bullying, and abuse. A must read book, I love all of this author’s books, and in my opinion this may be the best one yet, and I can hardly wait to find out what happens next.
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
HOLY CRAP, where do I start with this one. Perfect freaking title people…you start reading this book and the more you read and the deeper you get into and the freaking title just keeps getting into your head at how perfect it is. Cruel Intentions it is throughout the book…Abby is my new favorite girl, not because she is a badass who kicks ass and stuff like that, no, it’s because this girls goes through hell but still keeps her head high and for that? She deserves praise and much more. She is in a cruel world, a world that I wouldn’t want to live in, but she tries her best, she wants out but she knows she can’t just run, not she will pay their games until she can finally escape.
But, things take a turn when Cam, Sawyer and Jackson show up, them and their new money. Battles lines are drawn and Abby is in the middle because she gave her virginity to Cam because she wanted to rebel against her family and fiance. She didn’t know who he was but it doesn’t matter know, he holds that against her, he hates Abby like nothing else and will use that to make her do whatever they want.
If she thought her life was in dangerous before now is 10 times worse but she doesn’t care, that means she will fight 10 times more, she doesn’t trust anyone, not here father, not her fiance, not the new guys and it seems like not even her twin bother. She will have to just trust herself and fight.
Damn, this book, be ready people there is so much, so much going on that you will be reading int he edge of your seat. Just as Abby doesn’t know who to trust, you will not know who to trust either, my heart is divided too. Do I like Cam, yes and at the same time and I want to hurt him too. Drew, ah I want to use my hands and nails on him. Sawyer and Jackson, it’s a hate and love relationship too. See where I’m going…my heart is all twisted and this is only the first book. I just want to take Abby and hid her, don’t know where, but then I live in MA so I don’t think she would be too save with me lol.
But, seriously, I cannot recommend this book enough, I don’t want to give spoilers but be ready for a rolercoaster and a half and for scream and crying and laughing and loving and hating Siobhan for this and then hypervatilating for book 2 when you are done reading book 1 because that cliffhanging at the end it’s just TOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m done, I need to re read it again for more clues, that last chapter had a lot going on and I’m sure I missed something. Let me know what you think.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
5 out of 5 stars ( more like a million)
Cruel Intentions grabs ahold of you right from the start and won’t let go. The plot has great world building and the characters are multifaceted. As the original elite and the new elite students battle each other for control of their high school, the stakes keep getting higher for Abby, one of the original elites. I continually alternated between hating and cheering on Abby as she tried to survive in a world that idolizes brutality and power. The book ends on a cliffhanger and I’m eagerly awaiting the continuation of Abby’s story. As a member of the ARC Team, I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
