A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde… has gotten himself into trouble…again.
Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…
Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.
I had good intentions.
I really did.
But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Enemy to Romance is the perfect definition for Court and English. Never ever say its never gonna happen but this duos were really cute together. The Hating season was fully tit for tat! I love the spicy drama and the connection were irresistable. The ideas of these two odd couple to fall inlove were explosive.. It was emotional and the struggle of feelings.. Love it
I am one for any and all enemies to lovers stories! I couldn’t put this book down and read straight through. Both English & Court were slightly explosive. English is a smart, no-nonsense and stubborn firecracker. Court is an entitled playboy that turns out to be a gentleman with a huge heart. Something English never expected. They both have their hearts broken and find themselves in a complicated situation. The twists and turns will tug at your heart. Who knew that Court might be exactly what English needs. There are moments where the Crew will pop up and add a little fun and excitement for these two. I was not expecting to fall in love with these characters so quickly.
I cannot wait for the next book. The one I have been waiting for. Katherine & Camden!
Court was an intriguing character from the moment we met him in the Cruel series, and his own book did not disappoint! KA Linde has built a cast of characters that I feel like I know, and it was so good to be in the Upper East Side again.
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no cost***
Enemies-to-lovers is a trope that I’m fond of, and K.A. Linde kills it every time.
Court Kensington’s mom is seeking political office. Anna, otherwise known as English, gets tasked with keeping Court in line—and getting him to keep it in his pants. This isn’t a task that English looks forward to, as she’s going through some stuff in her own personal life.
And she may have a tiny thing for Court. Whether she wants to admit it or not.
The characters in The Hating Season are fantastic. English is on her game when it comes to keeping Court in line. Court is an arrogant playboy, but he’s also sweet and has a side he doesn’t show people. That side is endearing and made him likable as a character. There’s sparks flying all over between these two, chemistry comes off the page and it didn’t take long for me to hope that they’d somehow manage to get together.
Linde packs on the drama and turns up the heat in this story. It’s easy to read, the plot kept me engaged, and I liked the secondary characters and their roles as well.
If you like enemies-to-lovers stories, you definitely have to snatch this one up.
Five stars to this novel!
Court and English!! Loved their story!! Classic enemies to lovers story with Court needing help to clean up his tarnished image. Enter Anna English who throws herself into the job after experiencing a terrible heartbreak in her personal life.
These two will have you smiling and laughing at their witty banter. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved every page!
Oh my goodness, this book is to die for. Court and Anna are an amazing read. I highly recommend this book. The series is one of the best I read. I can’t wait to read Camden and Katherine’s story next. Way to go K.A. Linde.
So, so good!
I patiently waited for this story and it did not disappoint!!
The chemistry between Court and English vibrates off the pages for me. It was so refreshing to see another side of Court; one he didn’t let anyone else see. And English…man, English was a #BossBitch
Then K.A. Linde goes and throws in a little sneak peek of The Breaking Season and I. About. Died!!! Y’all I screamed with excitement over that little teaser and now the wait will be brutal.
K.A. Linde knows how to leave you drooling for more!! These Upper Eastsiders are addicting and I am here for their drama

When Anna is brought in to do a publicity overhaul on Court due to a scandal neither expected what that would bring. Both are dealing with personal struggles that they never anticipated what would happen when the hate dissipated. Can’t wait for more!
5 COURT AND ENGLISH STARS!! I freaking loved this book!! Court and English’s story had all the feels and I could not put it down. This book was high energy, it was perfection. K.A. Linden sucked me in all the way through. I highly recommend this book.
So I absolutely loved this book especially Court and Anna! These two have a very love hate relationship, which makes for a fun book! Anna has what she thought was the perfect marriage until it wasn’t. With her world rocked, she goes back to focus on her job with Court. What most people think about Court, is that he a pretty rich boy and a player.. He got himself into a pickle in the last book and Anna is trying to keep him out of trouble while handling her life. She has her hands full with him. She soon finds out that he’s more then just money and Upper East Side. She sees a different side of him and gets to know the real Court. Their friends and family are surprising each other with hooking up and getting married. I loved this book but my one complaint is the way Anna and Josh’s divorce was handled. It was just forgotten about and suddenly he was an ex husband. I mean we knew it was gonna happen obviously.. This book was good with characters you will love, especially Court.
5-stars isn’t enough for The Hating Season.
We’ve got to know Court as the spoiled, rich, Upper East Side playboy. He doesn’t give any thoughts to the women he sleeps with, the alcohol he drinks, or what people think about him.
Now, let’s throw in a PR agent that is supposed keep him out of trouble, out of the spotlight, and to help him put on a good front for his mothers re-election campaign.
Enter, English, Court Kensington’s worst nightmare or so he thinks. English is here for one thing and only one thing, but she gets way more than she bargained for with Court. Before long they are butting heads, fighting, and…….
Love, Love, the real Court that we get to know and how English handles him.
Court Kensington needs a publicist after a nasty breakup and Anna is hired for the job. Anna is terrific at her job. She catches her husband cheating on her with his costar and is now single. Court is charming, hot and intent on seducing Anna. Anna is having a hard time resisting now that she’s single. A enemies to lovers read that I recommend.
The moment Court Kensington was introduce in The Cruel Legacy series I just knew I needed to know more about him.
The Hating Season did not disappoint! This is stand alone book in the series an enemy to lovers romance that will have you nonstop reading.
Anna a English is a badass publicist that can fix just about anything, she was hired by Mayor Kensington to help clean her bad boy sons image for her campaign.
Court Kensington is the bad boy of the Kensington nobody who was previously in a relationship with Jane, who committed fraud & cause issues for Court.
Spoilers ahead…
English comes in to help him get on track, but was a bit distracted when she finds out her super star husband a Josh cheats on her with his costar- to promote a movie! Ugh cliche! Anyways… she’s questioning everything and in swoops Court :swoon:
Do yourself a favor & read it. So far this is my favorite book in the series. I live for Court.
No need to read these books in order but it does help with the timelines!
** I was offered an Arc in exchange for an honest review.
How have I gone this long without K.A. Linde?!?!
I loved English & Court! I was anxiously awaiting this book after The Lying Season and I was not disappointed. I stayed up til 2 am because I COULD. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN.! K.A. Linde pulled out so many emotions with not only English, but Court! He is way more than meets the eye! K.A. has become an automatic buy for me! I am about to go devour her back list. This is one of my Top 10 books of 2020! Bring on The Breaking Season!
I was not expecting this book, at all. This has blown my socks off. I am loving these Upper East Side spin offs, but I have been so focused on getting Camden and Katherine’s story that this one came out of left field.
Court Kensington is perceived as an entitled upper east sider and all his actions are affecting his mothers election campaign. We met Lark in The Lying Season, she is running Court’s mother’s campaign and she suggests her friend, Anna English, to be Court’s PR to improve his image.
English is damn good at her job and is determined to remain professional; she has a rule to never cross the line with a client but Court is making that hard to do. Especially now that she is divorcing her husband.
Misperceptions and the idea of right and wrong stand in their way. But when that match gets lit, the flame erupts between the two. And boy oh boy do these two smolder.
You will definitely want to one click this now! You will not be disappointed.
Another home run for Ms. Linde. I immediately fell head over heels for both English and Court. I would’ve never thought Court could give his brother a run for his money but he sure did! …and their chemistry is every. thing. Even from the glimpse we got in the last book you can just tell English was going to break her number one rule. Now, I can’t wait to see the magic Ms. Linde will do with THE BREAKING SEASON.
I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this gem and I was not disappointed. I was even caught with unexpected emotions while reading. I did not expect for this story to trigger so many feelings, I love when an author catches you off guard like that.
Court and Anna both have been hurt in the past. She was meant to keep him in line but together they will cross lines she was dead set on not crossing. This is absolutely a must read. It can be read as a stand-alone.
I love about this author that she just pulls you into the story as soon as you start reading. Immediately I’m invested in the characters’ lives, and because this author has such an easy writing style, I can read fast and enjoy the ride. And get to watch the miracle as she converts a screwup like Court Kensington into an admirable man!
Court Kensington is part of the infamous Crew, from the Upper East Side in NYC. They seem to be like a breed apart, with their rituals and customs. In all the previous books, he’s been presented as an entitled, self-absorbed playboy, who screws around and never minds the consequences. After a scandal involving a girlfriend who used him as a front to skim millions of dollars from businesses, his mother, the current mayor of NYC, hires Anna English, publicist, to improve his image.
Anna, a publicist with a reputation of being one of the best in her field, is best friends with Lark (as in, Larkin St Vincent). After a somewhat turbulent childhood and teen-hood, she managed to study at UCLA and was picked up by Poise PR agency and groomed for success in her field, and in Hollywood no less. At the start of the story, she’s married to Josh Hutch, A-lister currently filming in London. She’s immune to Court’s charms, since she’s so in love with her husband, so she was perfect for the job of babysitting Court and get him to behave. Yeah, sure…
Things were going great and she had made great strides in improving Court’s reputation into almost the golden boy of the Upper East Side. She took a weekend off to visit her husband in London and comes back immediately after finding out he’s cheated on her. When she arrives, she finds that Court got into a gambling scandal and just evaded being arrested. The fireworks start immediately with a very sizzling scene of sexual awareness and arousal. Very hot !!!!
Once they are aware of each other, their relation changes and turns into a spectacle of bickering, resistance, threatening, longing to kiss each other to perdition, and in Anna’s case, fear of falling for her client at a time when she’s very vulnerable. She’s afraid of being unprofessional and of being fired by Court’s mom. In all these conflicting feelings, Anna is tossed around by her emotions and feels very fragile. It’s sad to see her dealing with the loss of what she thought was her forever marriage, deal with the repercussions of her husbands infidelity and deal with Court’s new unwillingness to conform. Their bickering is fun to watch because it’s almost like foreplay. Poor Anna is playing a losing game with all the arsenal of charm at Court’s disposal.
The surprising one was Court. I won’t say much because he has to be read to be enjoyed. But let’s just say he has hidden depths, and no one before could tap onto his inner persona until Anna. I loved that his best friend is Camden Percy, Katherine’s husband. He’s the most enigmatic of the whole group and we are all intrigued by his marriage of convenience to Katherine. We get several glimpses that give us little hints to his feelings but no real information. But it does pave the way for their book which is next!
Anyway, Court does get a lot of assistance and counseling from Camden, rare as it sounds. His friends rally around when his relation with Anna is on the rocks, which seems to be most of the time.
Good angsty moments also happen between Anna and her family, where we learn of her beginnings which were fraught with upheavals, same as Court.
“We’d both been forced to grow up fast. We’d both had to play our parts to fit in. We’d both been put through the wringer, and somehow, we had found it in ourselves to still feel.”
So all in all, another rollicking great sexy ride in the Upper East Side neighbor with the good looking crew and their new addendums who are as fun, intriguing and complex in their own way. Great fun!
Rate: 4,5 / 5 stars
I was so excited for this book and it did not disappoint. It was so good, it was unputdownable! These two were explosive together. Their story was exciting, steamy, angsty, emotional. It had it all – drama, heartbreak, excitement, backstabbing b*tches, amazing supportive friends… I can’t get enough of this series and these characters.
Court was so hot and so much more than his money and image put out there. Anna was so wrong about him but she slowly got to see what he hid from the spotlight and how there was so much mroe to the man who was stealing her heart. We get to see a lot more of her and her past too, including of her relationship with her husband. That part of the story is really emotional for me, I hate cheating and getting to live that with her specially knowing that there was real love between the two ugh. Stardum is really messed up.
But anywho, it’s not like I wanted her to stay with her husband, heck no. I was team Court all the way. He deserved the girl. Anna fought him a lot and I loved those scenes where he teased her and made her jealous, it was very entertaining and quite hot. Court is a whole meal 😉 I want one for myself.
Once again, I’m even more excited for the next book because everytime Camden and Katherine are on scene they get me more curious about their relationship and marriage. With the bomb K.A. dropped on that sneek peak of the next book, I was shook and I need it stat.
A steamy enemies-to-lovers read!
Court is the epitome of a bad rich boy, at least in the public’s eye, hence why his mayor mother hires Anna English, a PR guru who sticks to her one rule of not getting involved with her clients. Court is sexy, intelligent, and always finding himself in trouble. Anna is independent, stubborn, and gorgeous. Together, they can’t seem to stand each other. However, when Anna’s life comes tumbling down, she starts learning more about the man behind the facade. Will they both be able to come out of their arrangement unscathed? This was such a great story, not quite as much angst as Ms. Linde’s other stories, but it didn’t need it in my opinion. It had a great balance between the characters, plenty of drama, and some great hints about what to come for the future of these upper east siders. Can’t wait to find out about Camden and Katherine!
