A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde… has gotten himself into trouble…again.
Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…
Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.
I had good intentions.
I really did.
But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Yasss!! I love everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, KA Linde writes. She always seems to outdo herself with each book she writes. The Hating Season is no different! I truly enjoyed begging submerged in Court and English’s story! Angst. Lust. Love. Friendship. Hardship. The Hating Season takes you on a whirlwind of an emotional rollercoaster that I didn’t want to get off! It kept me begging for another round, until the final page! If you enjoy a fabulous enemies to lovers romance, this is the book for you! Heck, even if you don’t, give The Hating Season a try. You won’t regret it! I can’t wait to see what Linde dreams up next! With her incredible mind, I’m sure it won’t disappoint!
4 Stars!
As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I couldn’t wait to pick up another one of Ms.Linde’s books! Once I started it I had to finish reading it in one sitting. I enjoyed this story!
English and Court’s journey pulled me in from the get go! I really liked how they were brought into each other’s lives. From the frustrating of moments to the ones that had me blushing, I went through it all with these characters which I enjoyed so much!
I loved getting to see different sides to Court and English. I really liked what their friends brought to the story as well!
With The Hating Season, Ms.Linde created an addictive read with a great amount of heat! I can’t wait for The Breaking Season to be released!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
I seriously love this world, and this crew. I could read about them forever! This is one of my favorite kinds of books, enemies to lovers. If you’ve read anything from K.A. Linde, then you know she can bring the angst. This book is full of it, along with so much steam. English is the boss! Seriously. She’s the best. And Court is so much more than we’ve been led to believe. Gah! I loved him before, and I loooooooooove him now! He’s everything. They’re everything. This book is everything. This series is everything. And I cannot wait for the next installment.
4 stars for – Hating Season – the second book in the Seasons series by K.A. Linde. This book can be read as a complete standalone with almost zero spoilers from the other books involving previous characters so feel free to dive right in. We are back in New York where the uber rich and privileged live and play.
Anna English is only working in New York temporarily for her “problem child” client and will be heading back home to California as soon as the elections are over in November. She loves her life – working for a top PR firm and married to one of Hollywood’s leading actors until a trip to see him onset changes everything. English has tough decisions to make in regards to her marriage and heads back to New York to deal with the other man in her life that seems to keep her up at nights too.
Court Kennsington never cared what anyone thought about him so he never corrected their assumptions when it came to his playboy ways. Spending the last six months working with English made him hope she saw him differently than all the other people in his life but it’s not looking too good. He feels things for her he’s never felt before but they are just a rebound thing…right?
This was a sexy, sweet and scorching hot romance with the perfect amount of angst thrown in too. I devoured this book in one sitting is was such an easy read. I am absolutely loving the little bits being dropped here and there about Katherine and Camden too. Can’t wait to read all about those two next!
Okay, I was not prepared to fall for Court as hard as I did. I did not expect the person underneath that Upper East Side Armor. Plus, he’s a book nerd?? *swoon* You better believe my TBR grew a little based on his favorites. Anna English is tough as nails. I loved being inside her head. She is a savage, and willing to do what it takes to go after what she wants, even after getting knocked down. Oooh and their fights? Whew, they take enemies-to-lovers to a whole other level. Brilliant writing and continued world-building with this family of characters. So looking forward to what comes next!!

The Hating Season was the best book in this series yet!
When I first read the blurb of the Hating Season I was really excited to read it, and when I started reading I was even more positively surprised by how the story did unfold. I just loved Court and Anna’s story. I couldn’t get enough of it.
I already knew Court from the first book in this series as well as from the Cruel series. There he was already quite the mystery – a hot, rule-breaking mystery. I couldn’t wait to read his story, and with the Hating Season KA Linde didn’t disappoint! I loved the dynamic between Court and Anna, their banter and their sexual tension was just over the top. The story was freaking hot yet didn’t lack any in the emotional department. I just loved these two! You’ll know what I mean when you read it. Just believe me when I say this book has all the FEELS!! Definitely worth the read!
Oh and I can’t wait to read more about Camden and Katherine. There were a few teases in this book and it made me just so much more excited to see how their story will unfold… Is it July yet?
LOVVEEEE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SERIES!! But it’s like anything Kyla rights it’s straight up suck you in and you can’t stop!
The steamy angst is great!!! The want but don’t need is also a favorite of mine!
A phenomenal enemies to lovers romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Packed with angst, steam, love, hate and so much more. This book was one entertaining roller coaster ride.
*4.5 stars*
I LOVE these Upper East Side characters…
I’ve had my eye on Court Kensington since day one. Handsome with a bad boy reputation, there was a lot more to him then the tabloid headlines. Delving into the softness underneath meant this frenemies to lover story had all the luscious complications I could have wished for. Yes, this read as a standalone but I definitely recommend reading first the Cruel series and then The Lying Season before diving in. Why? Because the characters are bold and in your face, while their stories are drama and angst beyond compare…
Court was facing a rough time (of his own making) and, unexpectedly, so was English (hers being totally out of her control). What they had in common was English’s task of keeping him on the straight and narrow (aka out of jail) and his to keep pushing all her buttons… What they also shared were a couple of exes I loved to despise and, putting it altogether, a chaos they had to face head on, together. The situations ping ponged from one surprise to another and it made for a ‘can’t put down’ read. Be prepared for yelling and loving, laughter and pain and a love that made it more than worth it…
This group of friends is tied together through complicated relationships but, in the end, love and respect, and a healthy dose of sarcasm, keep them together. This story was all about Court and English but the tantalizing glimpses into Camden and Katherine have me waiting impatiently for their turn – I know it is going to be epic!
*Reviewed for Nerdy Dirty & Flirty
I have to be honest…I still hold quite a bit of disdain for the Crew from the Upper East Side. But that’s only because K.A. Linde develops these characters in all their hated glory, shaping their personalities in a way that allows readers to form opinions of them quite quickly and turn against them for the way they act and treat those around them. And those feelings of contempt are difficult to let go of because the reason it’s never just one defining moment but a litany of atrocious behavior and holier than thou demeanor. The monikers for these Upper East Siders carry its own prejudices among those who exist around them, which means that it’s not just the readers who find this group reprehensible; it’s also those who interact with them.
But here’s where things, in my opinion, become interesting because as much as a reader may loathe a certain supporting character…when that person becomes the hero or the heroine of their own story, the author turns first impressions and initial perceptions of said characters on their head, proving that there is so much more to learn about these people and now the author gives readers the chance to do just that. And I find that K.A. Linde is an author who is able to characterize one-dimensional characters in a way that proves that they are so much more than just the sum of the parts readers have seen.
Court Kensington is indeed one of those Upper Easter Siders who needs to change his image, not only because of his bad boy swagger but also because of the way he’s being portrayed in the media because of his actions and decisions. So this means he needs all the help he can get and that assistance comes in the form of the amazing and professional publicist, Anna English, but she gets a bit more than she bargained for when she takes on this role because in redefining who Court is, she finds out just how attracted she is to him regardless of how messy things will get when she can’t help but cross that line.
The push and pull between Court and Anna…the banter and quips they exchange and the delicious sexual tension that’s always simmering adds to the angst of the story line and showcases the idea that they may act like they don’t like each other but when they’re both stripped bare, both literally and figuratively, they see just how right they can be.
Readers have been privy to the lying and hating season and now, we are more than ready the breaking season.
4 Poison Apples
This was a really enjoyable read!
“Court didn’t hesitate. His hands came up into my hair. His grip possessive and controlling. No question in that hold. Then he bent down, bringing his lips hard against mine.”
Anna English is a brilliant publicist and she’s been hired to turn the bad boy of the Upper East Side into NYC’s golden boy. She has her work cut out for her. However, when her own life takes a downturn, in a moment of weakness, she finds herself breaking her number one rule. And, once the she’s crossed that line, it’s pretty hard to backtrack and pretend that there is nothing between them.
“Something sparked in my chest. I didn’t f*cking know what it was. But I didn’t want her to leave.”
Court Kensington has a terrible public image and his mother is running for re-election as Mayor. He doesn’t care what people think of him as long as he can lead his life on his own terms. Anna English has been hired to babysit him and he’s straining against his leash. It doesn’t make for a very harmonious working relationship. However, there is absolutely no denying the spark between them. One taste and he’s determined to have more but gaining her trust will be hard work.
“She smiled up at me, and it took a lot of self-control to not just take her to the bedroom and remind her how much of mine she was.”
I loved Anna and Court. They had blistering chemistry. Both were independent, hard-headed, and wore a public facade – Court more so than Anna. I admired her ballsiness, as it’s made her one of the best publicists in the business, but she sometimes wore it like armour. I liked that she pulled no punches and had courage in her convictions. Court was an enigma. So much of who he truly was remained hidden from everyone. He protected his true self from exploitation. The two of them together were fiery but natural. A thoroughly enjoyable read with little clues about the couples in the next books in the series. Looking forward to reading about them!
When Anna agrees to be Court Kensington’s PR person, she has no idea how it will change her life. She can’t help but fight with this man child as he tarnishes his mother’s run for senate. She also can’t help but fall for this man who she swore she wouldn’t.
Court and Anna are both going through heart break and find an unexpected kinship in each other. This story shows us how love and respect can really change a person. Court became someone he never expected to be when he let himself fall for English. Anna was afraid to trust anyone, but found her way to trust Court.
There is heat and all the feels in this one. This is a great group of friends and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them. I also love that they all were in this book again and not just a mention of them, but we got to see Sam and Lark and reconnect with them as well.
I thought Penn was the Kensington that would “have” my heart, but Court stole the spotlight. Court comes a crossed as a privileged bad boy, until you see the peels coming off. Anna is a PR hired to help clean up Court’s image. While cleaning his imagine up you feel the chemistry between the two. Will something happen? Read the book to find out.
The Hating Season was quite the ride—high powered publicist amongst Hollywood elite and upper crust politically influential New Yorkers. Well, what have I got myself into here? I haven’t read K.A. Linde before, but I love discovering new authors and seeing the worlds they create. I feel fortunate that I came into this series at this point in the Seasons series, I don’t feel like I’ve missed a lot.
Anna English (by the way I love this name) is doing her job and doing it well. Managing the public life of upper east side party boy Court Kensington is a full-time job. His mother is running for governor, and questionable choices have left him with his image needing polishing. Then Anna’s personal life takes a significant hit. She’s knocked down, but she’s not going to allow it to affect her professional dealing with Court. However, this break in her professional exterior is just the opening Court needs to get to know his publicist.
We have two people in this book who have, in different ways, been betrayed by people they trusted. And it is just not significant others who have trampled on them it is parents. We see how the actions of parents (no matter the social status) have long-reaching effects on kids. Anna and Court have to work their way through all the things to get to their place of mutual trust and respect. Along the way, we can see the growth as each brings out the best in the other. I think this is what I liked most about this book is the time the author takes to get under the hood of her characters so we can see the work they have to do. The work that will make them into the partner they need to be; it’s about growing a healthy relationship that Anna and Court both want; they don’t know they want it from each other. The beauty of it is is that they do find out they want it from each other, and that makes The Hating Season a winner.
My Rating: ***3/4

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book in exchange for honest review.
The Hating Season is the second installment in the Seasons series. As listed in the synopsis, it can be read as a standalone. This is my first book of K.A Linde so I haven’t read “The lying season” yet. According to me its not an enemies to lovers romance.
Anna English is a publicist from LA, her current client the son of a political candidate in NYC. Court Kensington (her current client) ex-girlfriend has been accused and arrested in a multi-million-dollar fraud scheme just weeks prior to Court’s mothers run for political office. In an effort to clean up Court’s reputation and keep him from trouble his mother hires English. Court appears to be that typical bad boy but he seems to be totally different guy behind the façade. Now it’s the job of English to bring that different personality upfront.
English is strong and independent. English is married to a very successful actor and is now suffering from the betrayal of her husband. She wants no part of her cheating husband in her life anymore. With this sting, her business relationship with Court turns more. Court isn’t interested in baby sitter. I felt him immature. He tries to utilize every opportunity with English to his advantage, however English has a mind of her own.
I liked English’s strength of character, even when she was very badly hurt, she was strong in her resolve. Court was endearing. They both had a distinct personality; both were extremely good individually. Somehow, to me together felt forced. The chemistry wasn’t very natural (IMO). Nothing against the people who love it, I wasn’t sold to their combo to greater extent.
Writing style was smooth and effortless. I think many secondary characters in this book have their own solid background and story. Totally liked the entire group. However, I was mostly looking forward to small glimpse and interaction between Camden and Kathrine throughout the book. Eagerly waiting for their book. Plot was steady and realistic. My only reason to rate this low is not finding the main protagonists as good fit for each other (IMO).
Overall, it’s nice, dramatic, interesting character filled with determination and strength. It’s a onetime enjoyable read.

The Hating Season is an enemies to lovers with all the angst, steam and forbiddenness I always crave. Court Kensington and Anna English are fiery together. Their chemistry is off the charts. I didn’t want to put their story down. These Season books are all drama, sex, swoons, and friendships. And, I am here for every second of it.
Anna English is a publicist hired to clean up the image of Court Kensington after he is caught up in a scandal that could potentially cause damage to his mother’s mayoral campaign. English and Court bicker right off the bat. Court fighting against having a babysitter. However, underlying every argument there’s an intense attraction. The passion that’s between them radiates off the page.
I loved these characters. Anna is feisty and independent. However, I liked that we got to see her vulnerability. Like the way she compares herself to the upper elite and especially after she finds out about her husband’s infidelity.
I completely fell head over heels in love with Court Kensington. This “playboy bad boy” has a secret side I die for. He’s misunderstood and not what others perceived. He may have taken the top spot of favorite K.A. Linde heroes away from the Maxwell brothers.
The Hating Season is the second book in the Seasons series but can be read as a standalone. That being said, it may help to have read the first book, The Lying Season, and maybe even the Cruel Money trilogy. The Hating Season jumps right into the story and if you haven’t met these characters previously it could be a little overwhelming. I read all the books and still I had to go back and reread some parts.
K.A. Linde writes amazing romances and The Hating Season is no different. I can’t wait to continue the series. I’m dying to get the story behind Katherine and Camden’s arranged marriage.
Anna comes home from finding out her husband has cheated on her, and the last thing she needs in her life is to have to play fixer for her most obnoxious client – bad boy troublemaker, Court, the mayor’s son, and pain in her ass. Not only does she not need to have to fix his latest screwup, but she also doesn’t need an inconvenient attraction to him. Damn, this woman just cannot get catch a break!
Court is a screwup for sure, but his attraction to, and feelings for, Anna, could be his redemption, if she’d give into the feelings, and start trusting him…
As enemies to lovers go, The Hating Season is top notch. The line between hate and love is a thin one, and not every author can toe that line without going over the top, but K.A. Linde toed that line perfectly. There’s a touch of angst, witty, snarky barbs, serious chemistry, and Court and English are perfect together. Now I’m waiting very anxiously for Katherine and Camden’s arranged marriage story, The Breaking Season.
4 Stars
This enemies to lovers is fun, flirty and full of emotions. Court Kensington is New York’s baddest boy and Anna English is the PR rep hired to make his image better. These two are like gasoline to fire, explosive in all the best ways. Another great book in the series.

I‘m in love with Court
I mean who doesn‘t like a troublemaking bad boy who secretly has the biggest heart ever. Swoon! It also helps that he‘s handsome as hell.
After reading The Lying Season I was so excited to read The Hating Season because I was already shipping English and Court so hard in that book but obviously English was still married then to an actor called Josh Hutch (is it just me who pictured him as Josh Hutcherson?). So that didn‘t work out.
English is a really strong and badass heroine. She deals with all these arrogant celebs and fixes their life so it‘s not really a surprise that she‘s so badass.
This book was filled with steamy scenes between those two and also so much more! I loved the emotional aspect of the book. Although I would‘ve loved to get to know more about Courts past with his father. I love a good angsty story and this one is really angsty.

WOW! I absolutely LOVED The Hating Season by K.A. Linde. I’ve wanted to read so many of her books, but I’ve never had one work with my blog schedule—that said, I buy them often just based on the blurbs and covers! Now that I’ve been able to read one, I am in so much trouble…my already insane reading schedule just doubled since she’s got a huge back catalog of titles that I am now determined to read.

I might be known as a Manhattan playboy, a giant train wreck, and the Kensington fuckup. In fact, I was all of those things.
The Hating Season is sizzling and sweet. The plotline is light in angst—it just enough to make your stomach churn before K.A. Linde interjects the sweet or sexy to lighten the mood and tone of the book. Yet, her excellent storytelling made it easy to pick up The Hating Season and stay engrossed from beginning to end. I was highly entertained and thought the story offered so many truly beautiful moments. But what I found myself stuck with the deepest after I finished reading was that K.A. Linde offered readers a heroine that is strong enough to put herself first in the midst of heartache—something that is easier said than done. As a woman who has walked a similar path in life to English, I felt her pain, but I also saw (and was amazed by) her strength! (Anna) English has had her heart stomped on and she still takes a chance on Court Kensington—the Upper East Side Playboy—and their chemistry was off the charts hot while still be sweet. As you can likely surmise based on the title, The Hating Season is an enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance. And Court Kensington is definitely going to win the hearts of all who read this one. If you’re a reader that loves book boyfriends—who collects them—I can promise you that Court’s going to have won you over before the end of Chapter 6 without a doubt. But that’s just the beginning!!!

I had only one rule: don’t get involved with clients.
I’d never broken it.
And I had just almost kissed Court Kensington.
I love when I find new authors to read, its genuinely one of my favorite parts of blogging. And while K.A. Linde’s been on my radar for some time, my blogging schedule is very busy and it’s not always a matter of what I want to read. For that reason, I was ecstatic to have her on my April calendar, and now that I know just how beautiful a story she pens—well, I will be reading much, much more of Linde’s work at every opportunity! The Hating Season kept me extremely entertained from start to finish and I sincerely recommend this if you’re in a book slump or you just want a feel-good romance that high in heat and will leave you swooning. English and Court’s romance is sure to be your next five-star read!

Recognition. He saw me. And for the first time… he was letting me see him, too. Not the Court Kensington he revealed to the public. The one that I’d read about. But the real person under that Upper East Side facade. The youth lacrosse coach, the book nerd, the gentleman.
