A new stand alone enemies-to-lovers romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde… has gotten himself into trouble…again.
Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…
Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.
I had good intentions.
I really did.
But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Though this can be read as a stand alone, I HIGHLY recommend reading the entire series and starting off with the Cruel Trilogy.
Linde has a magical way of re-introducing characters you thought you knew. For instance, you meet Court Kensington in other Linde novels, but who is he in the Hating Season? Is he the standard upper east side party boy as previously introduced? Or… is there something more behind the ocean blue eyes and family name? Can English, the head strong woman assigned as his publicist set him straight in time for his mother’s election?
They start with a very strong enemy relationship, but when English finds her world falling apart she also finds herself wanting more from her own client. Gahhhhhh.
I started to read this when I had some of my own enemy feelings going on with the world, and their story helped to soften how I felt personally and provide me with a much needed distraction. Go ahead and fall in love with Court, English and K.A. Linde!

This book is edgy, and sexy and all the things a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Are you ready for a new book boyfriend? He’s a hot bad boy that lights up when you start talking about books.
I’ve wanted to know more about Court since the Cruel series. I loved English in The Lying Season. English is hired as Court’s publicist after he gets himself into some trouble that could affect his mother’s campaign. English is driven and takes a no-nonsense attitude to her work. Her job is to manage Court, and Court isn’t one to be managed. With her marriage falling apart, can she keep her “never get involved with a client” rule? There’s way more to Court than his Upper East Side bad boy persona, but he lets very few people know that. English sees hints of Court without his public mask making him even harder to resist. Plus, this sexy bookworm is swoon-worthy when he puts his mind to it. When they finally get together, English and Court are explosive. u2009
I enjoyed seeing all of the expanded Crew again. This amazing group of supportive friends plays a pivotal role in Court and English’s story. I wasn’t expecting Court and Camden’s ride-or-die friendship. Or, how insightful Camden’s observations would be to Court. English is helped through this tough time by all of the women. They show the value of having a girl squad.
The Hating Season is an enemies-to-lovers story that brings all the angst, witty banter, steaminess, and drama that I was expecting. It is a fast-paced story that doesn’t disappoint.
The Hating Season is an enemies-to-lovers story that follows Court and Anna (English). I knew I would love their story when I read The Lying Season, and I was not disappointed. English is a force, and she does not suffer fools. I love that she is so fierce. Court is so much more than he lets anyone see. He likes to keep his tender side on lockdown to survive the machinations of the Upper East Side. There’s a lot of delicious tension, and when the sparks ignite it’s perfection. I really enjoy this couple together.
There’s enough peeks into the other members of the crew to whet your appetite for the next books in this series. I’m looking forward to Katherine and Camden’s story next.
I just love K.A. Linde so freaking much! She knows how to write the angst that steals my heart. This one wasn’t SUPER angsty, but it had all the right tension right where I needed it. I loved reading about a world I know nothing about (politicians and publicists and Upper Eastside Playboys). I also love how Linde chooses to write strong, independent heroines. They’re so sassy and awesome to read! Plus, Court Kensington (while I was FURIOUS at him for part of this book… big dummy) was just so flippin hot. I’m going to dream about this man’s bare feet thanks to one particular scene LOL. A 5 star rec from me!
Dear Lord this series is AMAZING! Seriously, K.A. Linde was a new-to-me author when I read the first book, The Lying Season, and I was hooked! When I met English and Court in the first book, I just knew it had to happen (even if English was married). K.A. Linde knows how to give major depth to her characters and getting to know these two throughout this story was so, so good. I knew this book would be great, but she really developed Court in a way that made me like him despite all the crazy stuff he’s pulled. And English is just such a ball buster in the best damn way. She is strong and fierce, and I loved her so much.
This series has moved to one of my all-time favorites and I cannot wait for the next book with Camden and Katherine–it’s going to be an emotional mess and I am here for it! I’d obviously recommend this whole damn series!!
After reading The Lying Season I was anxiously awaiting English and Court’s story. I’m happy to say I was not disappointed.
K.A. Linde brings all that delicious enemies-to-lovers goodness in The Hating Season. I like that both the heroine and the hero have their own journey and growth that isn’t intertwined with the other. I also thought the way that English stands up to Josh is compelling, though I wasn’t completely sold on his villainy. I also think that this novel would have benefitted from a continuity editor, as there were a couple of minor narrative inconsistencies throughout the story.
Other than that, however, it was en enjoyable read. And I’m looking forward to Katherine and Camden’s story, which is up next in the series.
The Hating Season is the next book in KA Linde’s 5 Book Season’s Series. This is Court & English’s enemies to lover’s story and I fell in love from page one. I seriously love KA Linde’s writing and I loved everything about this book. English is in her own personal chaos with her 5 year marriage unraveling and her next PR job is to make sure that New York’s infamous playboy behave’s himself long enough for his mom’s campaign to go well and get elected. Court if you read the The Lying Season has a rep for being shallow and a womanizer but this book unveils the real man. Once the dust settles between these two, the chemistry ignites and the heat explodes. But it’s so much more than that. The connection takes on a deeper meaning as they find out about each other and become that person everyone longs for.
I love Court & English and all the other important characters that make this story complete. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. You definitely want to make this your next 1 click!!!

I have enjoyed this book so much!!
I loved how the book was organised and the titles for each part!
English is a strong, determined and driven heroine who always abides by her one and only rule- NEVER GET INVOLVED WITH A CLIENT. She’s planning to get divorced and get a fresh start in NY.
However, she has her hands full when she’s given the responsibility to look after Court Kensington so that he doesn’t compromise his mum’s campaign- playboy, party animal…
When they are both in the same rooms, you can feel the tension and the sparks!!
They love to hate each other and they live to push each other buttons.
English has lost faith in love and men , however the more she spends time with Court … the more she realises that You should never judge a book by its cover … who is Court really? Can she trust him?
Can she yield to temptation without putting her job at risk?
Will Court stay out of trouble?
The secondary characters are all likeable and intrigued me!! But CAMDEN…. I NEED HIS STORY NOW!!
This series? my new favorite from Linde. This book? My new favorite from this series, HANDS DOWN. Now, I haven’t read the last next yet obviously, but SO FAR THIS NOVEL DOMINATES.
This novel was explosive. It was sexy and angsty and everything I didn’t know I needed for Court’s novel.
I knew Court’s novel was going to be a wild ride, but this book was far more than I thought it was going to be. Ann English and Court in a room together is like nothing you think it is going to be.
Anna was Life. She was a BOSS and you legitimately feared her epicness while reading this. Not only was she a force, she was also exactly what Court needed.
This book was emotional and sexy and you wont be ablel to put it down. I love a good client romance and Kyla SLAYED it. I cannot wait for more in this world.
The Hating Season by K.A Linde is another fabulous enemies to lovers romance.
English (Anna) has been put in charge of Court Kensington and ensure that he stays out of trouble until his mom can win her campaign. We were first introduced to these characters in The Lying Season, and I continually was intrigued by their dynamic. I also knew that they would eventually get their own book, and I couldn’t wait to see where this relationship might go.
I was pleasantly surprised and very excited to see the softer side that Court had. He had never let anyone get very close to him before, especially because of what happened with his ex. Yet, he was eventually able to let English in. He had been putting on a ‘mask’ in the past, and almost hiding away from everyone, and now, he has that other part of him that he can trust and open up to.
I loved English. She had a soft side, much like Court, yet, she also has this attitude to her, where she won’t take anything from anyone. I think this is part of the reason Court and English work so well together.
Another great read from K.A!
5/5 Stars!
Anna English had it all. A job she loved and excelled at and an adoring movie star husband. Court Kensington had the Upper East Side at his fingertips and a reputation that could cost his mother the mayoral campaign. While their attraction was through the roof, the line between them was never crossed . . . until the rug was pulled out from under Anna leaving her single and able to act on all those messy feelings between her and Court. And now, Anna’s professional reputation as well as her heart is on the line with only a playboy and his Upper East Side friends to help her from falling into disgrace.
The Hating Season . . . sigh, so very very hot! I mean, Court Kensington is enough to make a girl’s ovaries burst! I loved his character so much and found him to have so much depth. The person who he really was in private and with those he cared about was so very different than the man he showed the world and I loved watching him come into his own. And, Anna, so tough and sassy and intelligent and always in charge and calm and fixing everyone’s issues . . . until the issues are hers and her vulnerable side shows through the cracks. She worked so hard to get where she was and she wasn’t going to watch her world fall apart without doing everything she could to control the outcome to be in her favor.
Together, this forbidden couple was so good for one another. They are oh so wrong, yet oh so right at the same time. With them both getting over relationships that broke their trust, there is plenty of room for drama and missed cues. But I loved watching Court grow up and Anna reconcile with her past so she could have a future.
The Hating Season had lots of heat, a bit of sweetness and all of the Upper East Side drama readers could ask for. And, holy moly . . .Katherine and Camden dancing around each other throughout this book is one heck of a tease for The Breaking Season, coming soon! 5 stars!
I am so in love with this series already! This story was angsty and emotion and absolutely addicting. I could not put this book down. K.A. Linde definitely holds her own as the queen of angst and I love every minute of reading it. I am so looking forward to more from her and more from this series. I love the different characters and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next! I will definitely be first in line for it

OH wow!! this one certainly draws you in straight from the beginning and holds your attention till the very end!
English is a celebrity publicist and married to a leading Actor. When she visits him on set and finds out he has been cheating on her she flies back to New York and throws herself into her job and her new client Court Kennsington! What she never counted on was the seriously steamy connection between them that made her rethink everything!
Court is not quite as he seems. Yes his life has completely imploded with the actions of his con-artist girlfriend but that’s not who he is. English is the first person to see beyond the persona he portrays, sees the real him.
My heart honestly broke for English, she has never had anyone that didn’t betray her. She is broken and unsure how to trust and love again but with Court she honestly soars and he helps give her strength.
This entire crew of friends is seriously intriguing, their whole life is quite the mystery and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series. I think this is the one I really want to read!
Anna English is a publicist and married to actor Josh Hutch. When she discovers that he is sleeping with his co-star, Celeste, while filming their new movie she immediately asks for a divorce and heads to New York to work with her new client’s son, Court Kensington.
Leslie Kensington wants to be re-elected as the Mayor of New York but the recent trouble her son, Court, has found himself in is likely to hamper her attempts unless English can keep him under control. Court has no desire to be babysat yet he also knows how much this election means to his mom.
Can English convince Court to behave until the election is over and will she see that there is way more to him than how he has been portrayed by the press. With English going through her own drama will she be able to handle everything?
This was a great book with some awesome twists to make you not want to let go until the end.
My heart broke for English and what she went through when she went to see Josh. Everything was such a shock for her and I wasn’t surprised that he kept trying to fight for her and get her back. I liked that she was determined to move on with her life and try and control things from her side. I understood why English was so leary about Court and wanted to keep him at a huge distance from everything she was going through.
Court begins the book as such a jerk and you aren’t sure what he’s involved in when it came to his ex-girlfriend, Jane, and the charges against her. Court also kept a lot of himself away from the public as there were things he wanted for himself and I admired him for that. I liked discovering that he wasn’t the jerk we thought he was at the beginning although there were times his charm was turned on extra which put English in a difficult spot.
There was so much chemistry between English and Court but each had just come out of relationships where trust was broken and each of them had aspects of it played out in the media.
There were a few interactions that left my jaw completely on the floor and one was towards the middle of the book after things heated up and the fight between Court and English and what Court said and did after English said some things to him. Then the stuff that happened at the wedding was also intense.
There was also an aspect of the book that dealt with English’s family and in particular her relationships with her sister and her dad. There were parts that were really sad on how English felt and how she really wanted a better relationship with her sister Taylor yet she was concerned about her new friend. That part completely broke my heart and I hated how English blamed parts of it on herself.
It made me sad at a certain part towards the end when Court hid something and how it all backfired and I felt bad for both him and English as I knew that there was more to the story.
I was shocked at what came out of a conversation between Josh and English and I was so mad on her behalf!!
The end was awesome and I am looking forward to more from this author!
Hollywood meets the Upper East Side in The Hating Season, the second book in the Season Series by K.A. Linde. We meet Court Kensington in the Cruel Trilogy, the bad boy of the Upper East Side will leave you swooning and wanting for more in this enemies-to-lovers romance.
Anna English thought she had everything under control, her marriage to the biggest up-and-coming movie start and her job as L.A’s sought-after publicist. Then she got offered to work for the Kensingtons and she saw this as an opportunity to step into New York high society by working for a political candidate. But it all comes crumbling down when she finds out that her husband is having an affair with his co-start and to make things worse, Court Kensington has gotten into trouble yet again. It’s her job to keep him out of trouble and she will do whatever it takes to clean up his bad boy image. Little did she know that spending time with Court would prove to be a while ride full of secrets, betrayal and a forbidden romance that will leave her questioning everything that she has worked for.
Court Kensington has it all, the looks and wealth to get him just about anything or anyone he could possibly want. This often ends up leading him into trouble and for this reason his mother hires Anna to keep in line. So that Court doesn’t ruin his mom’s reelection campaign for mayor of New York. Yet, no matter how much he hates having a babysitter, he can’t seem to stay away from her. She is feisty and is able to command a room including his attention. She has a strict rule to never sleep with a client and he intends to change her mind even if it means letting her see the real him.
I absolutely loved this story! Linde delivers an incredibly seductive page-turner in The Hating Season. Court is seen as the reckless bad boy whose sweet side not a lot of people get to see. He is part of a very powerful family which makes him a magnet for those that want him for his money and we get to see how that has affected him. On the other hand, Anna has been through a lot growing up and that has made her who she is today. She is a cutthroat publicist whose talent has made her the best in Hollywood. It’s when she arrives to New York that her life starts to change and the moment she crosses the line with Court, does she realize that he might just be her forever.
Told in duel POV, the story is set in the glamour of the Upper East Side. The chemistry between the characters is sizzling the minute they meet and as the story unfolds we get to see big changes between them. Having cameos from previous characters made the story standout a lot more and I couldn’t put it down. The ending will leave you swooning for the characters! I highly recommend checking out the book. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. 🙂
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.
This was such an entertaining enemies-to-lovers story with a flair of forbidden romance. Get ready for an angst-ridden story because this couple doles it out in spades.
I was really impressed with the storytelling. The writing style was so smooth and effortless. It was a truly beautiful narrative that really pulled me into the story. The plot of the story was riveting. I was so engrossed by the story and I couldn’t put it down.
I liked the characters a lot. Both main characters, English and Court, had such endearing qualities that it would be hard not to like them. They both had such distinct personalities and were very realistic and relatable. They both had a lot of depth and character growth. I also really loved the cast of secondary characters. I haven’t read any other books from this author yet but I definitely will. She writes the secondary characters into the story is such a way that the reader is itching to know more about them and experience their stories as well. I loved the build-up concerning the two main characters slated for the next book in this series as well as the other couples that already have their own stories. I also really loved the friendships in the story and the family representation. And while it doesn’t really matter in the slightest since it doesn’t impact the story, I have to add that I really disliked how the female lead character went by her last name. It was annoying.
I felt like the romance came on a little too strong a little too early in the story. I definitely liked them as a couple but I just didn’t feel their romance in my bones. It felt like something was missing. There were also some things about the romance that I didn’t find very convincing. Like the fact that English falls for Court so quickly after finding out that her husband of five years cheated on her. Falling out of love with her husband and falling in love with Court felt like it was all at the drop of a hat. It just didn’t feel realistic to me.
Overall, this was an exciting and angsty story that also packed a lot of emotions. I loved the drama, the incredible cast of characters, and the rollercoaster ride of a plot. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and I am excited to go back and read some of Linde’s backlist titles.
4.5 stars
I have such a bad habit of not reading anything about a book before diving in so of course I had no idea this was part of a series until after I’d finished. Saying that, this can definitely be read as a stand-alone without feeling like you’re missing out on something.
Anna English is a publicist who’s got a real talent for cleaning up other people’s public image. She’s professional, takes everything in her stride and understands what it’s like to be in the public eye.
Court Kensington has a bit of a bad boy image and his mother has decided Anna is the person that’s going to get rid of it. Unfortunately for Anna Courts going to have some fun while she attempts it. Fresh out of a marriage and still reeling from finding out her husband has been cheating on her, Anna’s defences against Court and the chemistry that they share don’t really have much of a chance.
This is a really good enemies to lovers romance that’s filled with witty banter, plenty of chemistry and two really likeable characters.
Also…..What the hell is going on between Camden and Katherine? I NEED that book asap! Everything about these two intrigues me. I need more!
I have been in need of a good angsts read! I knew the minute The Hating Season landed on my kindle that’s exactly what I’d get.
After reading the prologue I knew I was going to hooked. Anna visits her husband on the set and is devastated at what she hears. She wasn’t expecting to find out her husband has been cheating on her. To keep her mind off things and stay busy she throws herself into work. She was not prepared for her next job, babysitting Court. His mom is running for re-election and needs things to run smoothly for her.
I never thought I would like Court but we get to see a different side of him. If you are looking for angsty enemies to lovers romance look no further. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I really loved this book! Court and English stole my breath away! Anna did right by leaving her dirty husband. To have been humiliated the way she did, grrr I was so angry on her behalf! I love a good enemies to lovers and after reading this, I NEED to read ALL the books in this series. The one before this one and the next couple ones after. Court was mouth watering. I love a good bad boy needing his image cleaned up. Such a great read and I am going to go read Lying Season now.
