I think this was a fantastic debut for this writing duo. I have read both authors individual work, but despite knowing their styles, I couldn’t tell you who wrote what parts of this book. To me that is a mark of a good collaboration. An enjoyable story; plenty of action, some sexy times, definitely drama and unfortunately some events that may make some people uncomfortable but that’s all I’m going to say about that.
I’ll be honest though and say I did think Callie seemed to, not necessarily get over, but maybe move on from what had happened to her very quickly. If I read it right, I think the majority of this book happened over the space of maybe a week or two which I felt was a little fast but other than that I thought this was a great read and I can’t wait to see where Maci and Kathleen are taking this series. 4.5 stars for Crude Possession.
A well written, fast-paced drama filled read that will tug your emotions along the way. Yes, it has triggers, isn’t a fairy tale and probably isn’t for the faint of the heart. The combined writing from these two authors made it easy to swept away in the storyline. On the run and hiding from a past of hell, Callie starts over little town of Coomera. Knowing she is broken, has baggage and little trust for the opposite sex she’s wary of the attraction she feels for Malakai, a bartender she meets. Malakai feels the mutual attraction but knows she’s hiding something. When her past catches up with her, Malakai goes out of his way to protect her even engaging the Crude Souls MC something he never planned to do. Loved the characters. Can’t wait for more. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
An amazing story by Maci & Kathleen.
I felt the emotions, I felt the storyline and it kept me turning each page with anxious nervousness at what could happen next. It was raw, and it was real. I loved this book so much.
I was so excited to hear about these two authors cowriting a book and about an MC too! Well I can tell you my excitement was justified as my attention was instantly grabbed from the first paragraph and it remained focused for the entire book, not an easy feat!
Cindy, or Callie as she becomes, is in a terrible domestic situation and her best friend, Missy, helps her to escape. Meeting Malakai very quickly and feeling a powerful chemistry raised questions in her mind about her ability to read people and trust them. That’s all I will say as I don’t want to give away anymore.
The lead characters are easy to relate to and very likeable, likewise the ‘evil’ characters are equally easy to detest! Through terrific descriptions readers really feel a part of the story, like the proverbial ‘fly on the wall’ front row view! The fact that it is a fast paced, easy to read book makes it hard to put it down!
The drama and action keeps going right to the conclusion! The ending does leave you gasping a bit but it is definitely a stand alone story.
Both of these authors have now started a fabulous series I look forward to reading.
Callie is taking her own life into her hands finally, her BFF helps her figure it all out and it will be done. Malakai loves his job but his gets all tripped up when a red head comes in. He is forced to make delicious that he has been able to put off for years. The past will always come back to haunt you it is how you move forward that can be rewarding and make life the sweetest possible
I was truly lost in this story, I can’t wait to read more about the Crude Souls MC.
