Some would say I have a privileged life. Daughter of the current President of the United States, wealthy, famous, and all things that some girls wish they had. Only I’d dream of having a simple life. A life where I wasn’t marrying the scariest man I have ever met. Well, I thought I had just met him, but it turns out, there’s so much I don’t know about myself. That’s all thanks to a past so … twisted, so warped, that no amount of money, or presidential status could wipe it clean.
I’m the rebel child. Or as some may see it, the disappointment. I’ve never cared about expensive wedding gowns, or how much someone paid for a tailored suit. I don’t care if your wedding dress is from Walmart, or if it’s from some fancy, upscale designer line.
So why am I marrying the devil dressed in a thousand-dollar suit?
I’m about to find out how I got here. To marrying one of the most powerful men in the country. The road to finding out, though, is paved with darkness, painted with the blood of innocents, and it leads my ass straight to hell. Only this hell is a multi-million-dollar penthouse suite in New York City where Bryant Saint Royal, sits on his throne.
Little bit more about this book…
I’ve had this plot turning inside my brain for a while now. I’ve tossed and turned with it, fought with it, tried to modify it to be more acceptable, and in short, I’ve tried to p*ssy foot around my brutal little demons who have been whispering this story for over a year. Truth is, I couldn’t tame it. I couldn’t tame them, and I had to write it exactly as I saw it. Exactly as I have lived it, breathed it, relished in it inside of my head. See, my stories aren’t voices, they’re real, and they own every single inch of my being as I write them. Back to this book, yes, it was originally supposed to be a standalone, but I sent it to TWO betas who BOTH kicked up a sh*t at me about how the story was just…untold. So, I went back in, dove head first back into the murky depths of hell to revise, re-edit and twist the plot even further so this could be told in THREE parts. Book 1 is a full length standalone, but books 2 & 3 will be A LOT longer. You won’t be able to figure out this plot. Calling it twisted is an understatement, and It will f you in more ways than you’ve ever been f-ed before.
Anyway, I would say goodluck, but luck ain’t got shit, and god ain’t gon’ save you.

Isa is like your typical bad girl, who is rebellious and grew up in politics. But she’s has a past on her that would mess anyone up. She’s strong and independent, but also feisty and out outspoken. Yet all it takes is Bryant Royal to tame her a bit. Or so it would appear. Little did we know that there’s more to Bryant and Isa that meets the eye. He may be her enemy and weaseled his way to get her to marry him, but there’s something underlying there that we just don’t know about.
Warning this book ends on a cliffhanger and will have you confused AF. Honestly, I couldn’t wait to read this book and divided right in without reading any reviews or anything, I cant not stand spoilers and wanted to go into this book without knowing anything about it and I did that, and honestly, it was really good and I finished it in one night but then the book ended and I’m like hold the phone what just happened. Can’t wait for more.
If you like a good mindf*$k this book is for you! I flew through this book because it was so good I couldn’t stop reading! The twist and turns! Just AHHH!!!
YOU NEED TO READ THIS DELICIOUS BOOK!
WARNING: Major fricken cliffhanger!! I need more now!
And I think I died inside a little reading this one!! My mind is blown by Isa and Bryant and I need the next one immediately. I’ve read a lot by Amo Jones but this one certainly tops the list!!
WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! Amo, how are you going to do us like that?! I NEEEEEEED to know what the heck just happened!!! My vital signs are NOT okay right now! My blood pressure and pulse are THROUGH. THE. ROOF! Is this a heart attack or a stroke? I’m not quite sure. But, if I don’t get the conclusion soon, either one of these conditions are imminent. Just give me part two and we will call it good, mmkay?
You can tell this was an earlier book by this author as her writing style and skill has vastly improved over the years. But her ability to tell a story and screw with your head has firmly stayed in place. I can’t wait to read part two!
Damn… Well, that was intense…
For real though, this book is brilliant. First off, it’s fantastically written and basically makes it impossible to put the story down. It leaves you wanting more after every freaking page. You want to keep reading and keep trying to “figure out” the characters. Just when you think you have something figured out, think again! You don’t!
I read a review that had a simple description that perfectly sums up the way this story makes you feel: “You can read it and think that it’s just your average dark-themed story, but then you’ll get the really messed up parts and it will leave you staring wide-eyed at your Kindle as you try to figure out what you just read.”
I have to say, I’m personally not a big fan of cliffhangers so I had been putting off reading Crowned by Hate. I wanted to wait until I knew that I could go from book one straight into book two.
The ending of Crowned by Hate (Crowned, book 1) basically leaves you wanting more while at the same time you want to scream in frustration, “What the hell, dude? You can’t just leave it there! I need more! I need all the answers, bro!” In other words, I can’t wait to start reading book 2!
If you are into kinda insane, mind-f*, “hurts-so-good” stories then Amo Jones is definitely the author for you. Her stories are not for the faint of heart.
Long story short, Amo is a dark goddess of words! She did a fantastic job with Crowned by Hate and I am so looking forward to reading Crowned by Fate. I can’t wait to read more about Isa! I’m so freaking ready! Bring it on, babe!
You know, by now you think that I wouldn’t be surprised to be surprised with Amo Jones. I knew that this was going to end in a cliffhanger. I knew it. But it really surprised me and I’m still so confused. Like WHAT??
Like most Amo Jones books, this book was insane and went immensely fast. Well fitting for their romance and chemistry. Its dark, twisty, a big mind **** and a sprinkle of tourtue. Talk about having your heart pound a mile a minute. I don’t want to say too much about this book, because I feel like I’ll give something away just know that this is definitely unique to anything else I’ve ever read. If you love Amo Jones, are in the mood for something dark, are ready to be hella confused by the end and are okay with a cliffhanger then this is for you.
I received a eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Um…Ms. Amo…Hey, Can we talk? I just want to talk!
Even though I’m still sitting stuck on stupid and wondering how those of you who read this 3 YEARS AGO have survived the wait, I have to give it to Amo. Crowned by Hate was so good. For me, it definitely was the kind of read that holds you until it’s through with you.
If you can’t tell from above, I really believe Amo’s craftsmanship was phenomenal. In the middle of telling you a story, she is also talking to your subconscious. Which I thought was cool, and slightly off-putting.
I’m giving Crowned by Hate 4 out of 5 stars. Let me explain! I know I’m raving about it and yes you should absolutely, without a doubt go read it. Really you should! It’s just I feel slightly attacked and as if she played with my emotions because let’s be honest, she did!
All in all, this was a spectacular read and I am literally jonesing for Crowned by Fate. I need it!
Given a copy for an honest review.
Like pretty much any Amo book biggest thought beginning, middle, and end is WTF. This book takes that to a whole new level, which I why I love me some Amo- she always delivers the unexpected, you never know where something is going and twists and shocks and jaw dropping moments are the norm. Plus, a good dash of darkness and psychological messiness.
I’m not even really sure how to describe this book because you spend a lot of it trying to figure out just what the heck is going on in the past, present and future. Cliffs notes- big, sexy, brooding powerful alpha man coerces the POTUS’s daughter into marrying him- she’s not sure why, neither are we, but we know they have a past connection. Our heroine, Isa, a bit of nympho, so you KNOW Amo is going to have fun with that. She’s also pretty fun- she’s outspoken, sassy, independent, and direct. A rebellious bad girl with a sweet streak deep down. Bryant is dark and powerful, charming, stoic, and HOT alpha. The physical chemistry between them sizzles. Their romance ends up being a bit more sweet than I expected, but that is because there is other darkness to explore here.
From their first meeting onwards we spend time understanding their past connection and with them building a relationship. Amo has a unique style- she moves quickly, you have to read a lot between the lines, there are big time jumps, and we’re left scratching our head throughout. We just know both characters have an arsenal of skeletons in their closets and some of their skeletons are connected. I wish we had a bit more meat to the development of their connection- we’re told a lot more than we see, but you still buy in because of their chemistry. Then, we finally open the closet, and classic amo, it is a big fat mind F. You think you know where it’s going and then she basically b#$!@ slaps us with more twists and shocks- you’re confused, then floored. And again, classic Amo, the only thing you say is WTF just happened?
Thank goodness we have a second book coming our way. This could certainly be a standalone (that would leave you reeling) but I’m hopeful for a different end to this very shocking story.
This was my first Amo Jones and I was completely unaware of just how much my world was going to be rocked. This book was dark, disturbing, sinful and sexy. And I was left with more questions than answers with a cliffhanger to surpass all cliffhangers!!
Isa is a defiant, independent, and outgoing woman who stands up to all men that stand in her way. That is until Bryant. He is a controlling, dark force of nature that takes Isa as his bride for payment of past sins. I cannot figure out this dynamic and what Bryant needs from Isa but I was here for it and fell head over heels for their intense connection born from blood.
I need my hands on Crowned by Fate to silence the never ending storm of questions running around in my head since I finished Crowned by Hate.
If you love dark romance and Alpha men, this is for you!
I am completely and utterly confused about this book. I can honestly say that this is the first book I have read where nothing makes sense. I’m honestly speechless right now. I just do not get what has happened in this book. When I say this I mean what is the real story here? That being said, this was well-written and keep me on my toes. Amo has successfully managed to make me want to read the conclusion to this immediately. I will that that I was expecting the twist. If you look hard enough you can see the breadcrumbs that Amo has scattered in the chapters. It really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise if you easily pick up on foreshadowing.
WELLLLLL….where on earth do I start?!?!?!….because I finished this book around 3am last night/this morning and 9hrs later I am still in a complete and utter state of What The Actual F*** did I just read!!!!!
I have read most of Amo’s books and I have loved them! She has a darkness in her writing, but this takes it to a whole new level!! It’s like a sexy dark psychological thriller of a book that will warp your ‘lil mind!..kinda
I’m still at a loss really as to what to say!!!!…..I loved the characters, they’re definitely complex people that I wanted to know more about, but they’re also rather messed up – the best kinda people
The storyline?…sorry people, you’ve gotta find that out for yourself – if your looking for a straightforward sexy story, bit of danger or darkness and your typical hae?…Move on! This is not the book for you!!!
If your looking for a book that will warp you, that will have you scratching your head and thinking wtaf??, a dark mysterious, thrilling psychological twisted and dark omg I love this kinda read – then bring it on!!
I don’t know if this review even makes sense but I do know that I am itching for book 2!!!!!!!! Please please please, release now!!!!!!
5 stars! A lot of questions asked but still a 5 star read
“I knew everything about you before you even knew I existed…”
OMG I have no idea where to begin, this book is insane!! I keep thinking about this masterpiece, and this one is so intense you really need to put attention to every detail in this book.
It all started with a tragic night, that’s how they meet; the only problem is that Isa has been trying to erase that dreadful night from her mind but just when she thinks she able to live again, it all comes crashing and there’s only one way she can get out alive…to take the deal Bryant is offering.
This book broke my heart, and the only thing I can think is I need more, I crave every single word Amo has written for Isa and Bryant.
I’m at a loss
I have no idea where to start…… I’m sitting here tryin to wrap my head around what I just read. WOW Amo Jones just completely mind F**ked me. I need more, I need to know what is next!!
I can’t wait to see what Amo Jones has in store for me next!
Bring on the drama!!
Crowned by Hate. Well, you can call me queen of confusion then.
I’m in shock. For the millionth time,Amo Jones has been able to rock my world. Words can’t express the confusion I’m feeling right now. I’m trying to process the story, but it’s going very slow, sadly.
This story!
What started as a normal (flirted a bit with the dark side) romance story, slowly turned into a ‘let’s see how confused we can get Liz’ book. I dig that. Amo Jones is the queen when it comes to layered storylines. In-depth, suspenseful and just addictive. I don’t want to give away too much from the storyline. Just now that’s absolutely mind-blowing. One you could NEVER predict.
I dare you to try to figure it out.
The characters in this book aren’t one dimensional. And they aren’t like the usual kind you meet in books. Oh no, they are…different, more intense in a sense. Isa, a woman with a healthy appetite for the physical act between two people, was complex. A fighter. A rebel with a hard past that crashes with her reality every single day. Her path crosses with Bryant. Wolf. A businessman that flirts with the bad side of it. He too carries a past and a reason why he wants and needs Isa to become his wife.
Pasts interlink with the present while their story gets more complexas well as the relationship between the two main characters.
Amo Jones will always cease to amaze me. I need her words like people need air. Her writing is complex, amazing and just fresh. But her storytelling is what truly makes her one of my favourite authors. It’s out of this world.
The only thing I missed was that some chapters needed to be longer. It needed more words to explain, to create, and to connect. Sometimes it felt a bit rushed.
But still, I can’t get over that ending.
4 brilliant stars offered by the queen of confusion.
All hail the Queen of Mindf**ks!!
I have no idea how to even begin to write this review…I’m truly speechless.
While Amo does a beautiful job of telling stories, this one is no different. This book has many twists and turns but it gave me more questions than answers, answers that hopefully get answered in Book 2. I literally wanted to tear my hair out once I got to the ending just because of how it ended also because the ending confused me. I hope my confusion will be cleared once I get Book 2!! Way to go Ms. Jones, I’m anxiously awaiting the rest of Bryant and Isa’s story!!
This was a mind-blowing read. Months later and I am still dazed. No one does the twists and turns like this author. I never saw it coming and when it was over I needed to pick my jaw up off the floor. Then days later I was still trying to sort through the madness that I was left with.
You need to just immerse yourself in Isa and Bryant’s story. It will twist you up and spit you out.
All I know is I want a HEA and I am hoping we get one in the much anticipated, but long awaited, conclusion.
4.5
Umm, okay. Wow. Now I totally get what everyone was talking about. That ending was brutal Amo! Not very nice at all.
This book literally had me up all night reading. I wrote the rough draft of this review at 7am in the morning with zero sleep after finishing this book. Damn. What a ride! I love Amo’s writing. She always manages to pull out all the twists and turns that just completely gob smack you in the face and you have no idea what the fuck just happened.
That is 100% this book. I couldn’t have figured out that shit was going to happen even if I had wanted to!
“There are lots of different ways you can make yourself feel good. Never rely on anyone else for that.”
Crowned by Hate is dark, it’s gritty, it’s full of so many twists and turns that you’ll never see coming, and yes there is an epically mean cliffhanger.
I loved these characters and the story, and plot. I love dark romance and CBH is most definitely dark. If you love dark romance this book is a must read!
Bryant is one dark motherfucker, and I loved it. Him and Isa are like gasoline and fire. If you love the enemies to lovers trope, you 100% don’t want to skip out on this book.
“Ohh. Homegirl, he owns you.”
This book killed me. I haven’t been so freaking enthralled with a book in awhile. I seriously could not stop reading. I knew I was going to read it quickly, but in one night?! I couldn’t stop. I needed answers. And I still need answers after that ending! Lol.
Crowned by Hate is not to be missed. You definitely want to read this crazy, dark, and twisted story. Because we all know those are the best kind of books. A+ Amo.
No one can write weird, twisted, and confusing quite like Amo Jones. Her brand is flawlessly unique and calls to my darkness. Jones can always be counted on in bringing me to my knees, and left questioning every word, page, and chapter I have read. I love reading her work, and going back to read again to pick up on all the little details I missed.
This book stayed completely true to her brand. A super rich president’s daughter who just wants to live her life is promised to one of the darkest and most wicked men in America. She falls in love, but nothing is ever what it seems…………………….. I am so glad that Jones decided to pick up this story again. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F*** DID I JUST READ?!?! I knew this book was going to be amazing but in typical Amo fashion she has left me completely mindf*cked. I was not expecting that, not even a little bit, not even in my wildest dreams would I have suspected that. You are a wicked genius Amo Jones! Where do you come up with these plot twists!
This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held on tight all the way to end. I was completely captivated by the wickedly sexy and delicious Bryant from the very first time he was introduced. His presence commanded my attention and I was drawn to him almost immediately. He oozed danger, sex, and power. Isa was fiercely strong and unforgettable. Put them in a room together and you had scorching hot chemistry and tension so thick you could cut it with knife. This is one of my top reads of the year! I need the next book like I need my next breath. My. Life. Depends. On. It.
