Lady Georgiana Rannoch knows nothing is simple when you’re thirty-fifth in line for the British crown, but her upcoming marriage proves to be the ultimate complication in the tenth mystery in the New York Times bestselling Royal Spyness series. As Lady Georgiana’s beloved Darcy drives her out of London, she soon discovers that he isn’t planning to introduce her to the pleasures of sinning in … the pleasures of sinning in secret—as she had hoped—but to make her his wife!
Of course, she’ll need special permission from the king to marry a Roman Catholic. Though he will inherit a title, Darcy is as broke as Georgie. Even his family’s Irish castle has been sold to a rich American who now employs his father.
Nothing will deter them from their mission—except perhaps the news that Georgie’s future father-in-law has just been arrested for murdering the rich American. With the elopement postponed, they head for Ireland, where the suspect insists he’s innocent, and it’s up to them to prove it—for better or worse.

Really am enjoying this series!
love this series….so much fun
Lady Georgie and Darcy’s elopement is put on hold when Darcy gets the news that his father has been arrested for murder. He races off to Ireland to see how he can help, and it isn’t long before Georgie follows him to help clear her future father-in-law. The evidence all seems to point to Darcy’s father. Can Georgie figure out anything that will help clear him?
The book gets off to a slow start as Georgie once again has to figure out where she will live. The time is put to good use since it gives us updates on many of the series regulars. Once Georgie arrives in Ireland, things really pick up, and we are treated to a fantastic puzzle with plenty of twists and surprises. Several of the series regulars get some much needed development here, and I hope it lasts. Meanwhile, there is a fantastic new character I hope we see pop up again in future books.
I picked up this book on a whim, but I’m now working my way through all of Rhys Bowen’s books. What a delight! Engaging characters, great plot, wonderful writing.
I highly recommend this series!!!
Good series…one of my favorites.
I was so happy to come across this series. I love the glimpse into living in the past, the coming war and royal life. Georgie is a wonderful leading lady who seems to find trouble wherever she goes, but she handles it all is stride.
I couldn’t really get very far. Just too much detail that didn’t do much for the story.
I love most of Rhys Bowen’s books. Characterization always fun and entertaining, always well written – but this one seem exceptionally repetitive throughout regarding the clues to whom killed the villain. I felt it could (should) have either been tightened or perhaps more action throughout. As it was, they (Darcy and Georgianna) seem to be driving around a lot. Really, A LOT. Because of this I could only give this 3 stars – however, that didn’t stop me from buying her Four Funerals & Maybe a Wedding.
Like the characters, funny, nice mystery!
When Darcy ‘s father finds himself in the middle of a murder, his son comes to help and encourage his father. It almost takes a shovel over the head for the father to realize he needs to depend on someone else. As the storm clouds gather, more help is needed for both men. Along comes an eccentric princess. Princess Zhou Zhou and Georgianna, the love of Darcy’s life, are determined to see that O’Mara, the father, does not hang.
Although there are definitely frightening moments, it is still fun to stay in a Irish castle, to meet a woman who loves an aeroplane as much as she would a pet poodle and also fun to meet a clumsy maid named Queenie. It’s a wonderful Historical Mystery.
I’m so glad I found this book! It was a charming little mystery. So I’ve been to the library and checked out two more by Rhys Biwrn, one in this series. Light reading, perfect while convalescing from a bad cold. Watching the heroine mature is fun. If you’d like a series that’s easy, witty, and fun start to finish, I recomnend Rhys Bowen’s A Royal Spyness Mystery series.
I enjoyed Crowned and Dangererous a great deal and would recommend it to others. The characters are fresh and believable, and there is an interesting story line. An excellent cozy mystery!
Absolutely loved it and will read more by this writer when I can find the time!!!
I enjoy this series and look forward to each new book. Georgie is a likable character who you can’t help but root for.
I love these books. I just enjoy them.
LOVE HER WRITING
Like all the other books in this series, Crowned & Dangerous is a light, romantic mystery that is funny and entertaining. Lady Georgiana is a wonderful heroine, practical despite (or because of) her royal (but poor) status, and her sleuthing on behalf of the Queen is always harrowing.
As always, Rhys Bowen wins!
The story is easy to read, intriguing, and has lots of twists and turns. Predictably unpredictable. I enjoyed this immensely!
Lady Georgie is always fun to read. you never know what can happen. Makes me laugh.
