Blood Magic could be the first step in freeing the statues, but performing the spell isn’t without consequences. There’s one way to break the stone curse of La Voisin School for Witches, and the secret lies within the Soule family book of shadows. But to find its location, Madison, Krista, and Ivy must perform a blood magic ritual using three not-so-simple ingredients: the bones of a dead animal, … ingredients: the bones of a dead animal, the hair of a drowned girl, and an athame made of rubies and gold.
Who would have guessed that last item would be the most dangerous to acquire?
Just as Madison gathers the last item needed to perform the spell, she falls into a trap—one set by someone she once trusted. Now she’s finally discovered where the missing students have gone…only to realize she might be the next to disappear.

Crown of Blood by Rebecca Hamilton is such an awesome story that I have read. Crown of Blood is the 3rd book in the Academy of the Damped series. It is as scintillating as the other two as Madison, Ivy, and Krista continue to try to solve the mystery of the stone figures and find Ivy. Madison is becoming stronger in her powers and just in time. The mystery deepens, and the suspense intensifies as more info comes to light about The Academy and the village of Salem. They find themselves pitted against a friend, a new friend helps, and they begin to question the teachings at La Voisin Academy. Book 4, Throne of Death, will have to be an absolute thriller! I can hardly wait to read it.

The witch stuff is cool; the Samhain celebration, the history and all the magic use, love that stuff. It can slow the story down though; the whole statues storyline has been going on since book 1 and in book 3, it’s still barely solved. Madison and her 2 friends are on the search for how to release those trapped in the stone statues, but there’s someone or some people that are trying to stop them. Plus, the academy has some issues with students missing and Madison seems to be the only one willing to find out what is happening. This book is a fun, magical adventure; it’s a little too teenager for me, but it’s an entertaining read.
Really enjoying this series. Filled with suspense and intrigue, this witchy book is on par or better than Harry Potter! On to book four.
Book review of Crown of Blood (Academy of the Damned Book 3) by Veronica Shade
Whoa! I loved Books 1& 2 and really wanted to know what would happen to Madison! However, life got busy, I moved and accepted a BUNCH of ARC’s so I kind of forgot about the series. Then I saw Book 4 in the series as an ARC and jumped at the chance. I grabbed this book in Kindle Unlimited and dove in. Even after months and 30+ books in between Book 2 & this book
.. I was right back at La Voisin with Madison, Ivy, Krista and Jaxson. I was right back to figuring out the mystery of the statue people. I was SO not prepared for the WILD twist that had me mildly heartbroken and I have a Big Bad Guy or two in my sights, I guess we will see how that pans out!
The mark of a well written book is when it can be 3 months from one book to the next and it is quickly like you just finished that previous book. Like you never left La Viosin. These books are written just that skillfully!
I am very much looking forward to Book 4!
A strong sequel in a great series. Madison, Krista and Ivy discover that the statues are connected to the believed extinct witch family of Soule. They discover that the secret of breaking the spell on the statues is in the missing Soule family book of shadows. And, to find the book requires a blood magic spell. Just as she gathers the items together, she is betrayed by one she thought she could trust.
The series just gets deeper and richer. The author also adds depth to the characters. Instead of the characters breezing through, they also have more layers to them as they get more experience. You can almost feel the atmosphere becoming more oppressive as the girls peel back more layers to expose past misdeeds. The best increasing dread and mystery draw you along through the book.

Action packed, emotional thrill ride filled with magical and exciting charters, dangerous twists, heart racing turns and witty dialog. Was a great read from beginning to end and really was so hard to put down.
This series has not list its momentum yet. From it’s omg moments, to the adventurous twist and turns, to the oh you are not so who I thought you were! Makes this a must read and one you won’t be able to put down.

This book seemed a little slower than the others and lacked a little of the energy and pace that the previous books in the series had but that is probably because the storey needed more depth.
Madison, Krista, and Ivy are betrayed by some one they trusted but at the same time they find answers and where you may have been left confused in other books things now start making a lot on sense.
There are still plenty of twists and turns, questions answered but as many new ones raised.
Really Good Mystery storey and i cant wait to see where it leads.

Fantastic read that will keep you turning pages with the action, suspense, mystery, drama and danger. Madison, Krista, and Ivy found how to break the stone statues curse of La Voisin School for Witches. The secret is within the Soule family book of shadows but, to locate it they need to perform some blood magic. I was captivated with the discoverys and the twist and turns of events of the story. A well written story with great characters and storyline.

Madison is back at the academy in book three of the Academy of the Damned series. In this book Madison and the gang are trying to break the curse on the stone statues, find answers to her missing roommate and so much more happens in this entertaining read. From the great writing, well developed characters, magic, surprises and unexpected twists this book had me reading nonstop to find out what would happen next.
Having read the other ones I did not want to miss this one. This is one that a is a good YA and so easy to get caught up in and transported away to see where it goes next. Interesting to see where this goes and how the search is accomplished. Those ingredients have you scratching your head at times. Madison and the rest are great at taking us into this one. This was not simple it also had hurdles and twists. Suspense is also abound in this with you hoping you can wait for what comes in the next one once you reach the last page of this one.
I have read all of the books in this series so far. I love the way that they flow together Rebecca does an amazing job.
There is so much going on that you are trying to figure out. Ivy and Krista are trying their best to help Madison out. They all are finding out that they can do more than they thought and Madison is a lot more powerful than she should be. I can’t wait to see where they end up and if they find a way to break the curse.
Madison and her friends are still trying to find a way to help the statures and find Zoey. Things are not going to be easy and once of her friends is warning her to stop trying to do this. Will they help or hurt her in the end??
I really love this series and can’t wait to see where it leads in the future.
