The night I met Prince Caelan, he told me he could never marry a commoner.I slapped him in the face and to told him to f*ck off.I’ve lived a hard life, and I’ve made a name for myself. No man is ever going to tell me I’m not good enough. But the lure of his lips and skilled hands is just too strong.I can’t stay away. Will he destroy me… or will I pull away in time?It was just supposed to be a … can’t stay away.
Will he destroy me… or will I pull away in time?
It was just supposed to be a summer fling.
A few months and Caelan and I had to be done.
He’s betrothed to an awful princess. And he drives me absolutely insane.
The heat between us is unreal. His hands on my body, exploring me.
It’s intense, unlike anything I’ve ever felt.
My rational thought disappears as soon as his lips touch mine.
I’m tired of being his secret, but he’s like a drug I can’t quit.
When I finally decide I’m done… I find out I have a secret of my own.
I’m pregnant… with royal twins. And I’m so sick that I won’t be able to hide it for much longer.
The country has a secret, too. If Caelan has an heir, he can marry a commoner.
The only question is… will he still want me?
Crown Jewel is a 55k+ royal whirlwind of a romance that will leave you breathless and begging for more. There’s a protective alpha male prince, a sassy American gal, a whole bunch of stuffy royals, and a few hikes in the Alps that lead to steamy summertime loving. Enjoy!more
Everything is pretty good…all the elements of romance are present: characters in love, love between royal and commoner, heated scenes, high society, happy ending…but everything is just little meh. Was not really able to get into the story…
Having read Freya and Andreas’ story in The Accidental Princess, I was happy to learn that Ally and Caelan would be getting there own story. We had glimpses of them in the first book, but I was left wanting to know more. I did enjoy Crown Jewel, but struggled to like Ally who came across a little selfish and unwilling to consider what it would mean for Caelan to walk away from his royal responsibilities. I kept waiting for her to realise that she needed to support him and welcome her new role as his wife. Despite this, I did read the story in one go as I couldn’t put it down and would certainly recommend it to anyone who loves a royal romance.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book
I enjoyed the latest from Lexi Whitlow. When Ally shows ups for her best friend’s royal wedding she knows she will come face to face with the royal brother that she loves to hate. Caelan is said brother and next in line for the throne, he knows what is planned for his life and yet Ally is exactly what he’s been missing. But life for a future king isn’t that simple and his parents have his spouse picked out for him and it’s far from anything that is Ally. What starts as a summer of fun for them and vowing to walk away turns into what both were searching for without even realizing it. But the king and queen wont make their happy ending easy and they will have to see if they are strong enough to make it through all thr hurdles to their happy ending. Not going to lie the king and queen made me made, but the ending was perfect!
So I have to say first and foremost. I did not know this book went with another, and yes at some point I was wondering what I missed but it wasn’t enough to make me go back and read the first book so if you haven’t you are good.
Prince Caelan is a man that will become King. He knows what he is suppose to do but he has found the one woman that could make him forget everything.
Ally has already been told that she can never be his queen, but he will sleep with her. Needless to say Ally didn’t take to kindly to it at first. Then she figured that if she was going to leave Prince Caelan anyway she should just have some fun with him.
So I let me say I liked this story, but I didn’t love it. There was just to much “stuff” with it. And Ally gave in way way to easy. So yea I would go with 3 1/2 stars.
Sweet and nice story.
I was really rooting for them. Caelan is strong and stubborn. He really loves Ally.
Ally is also strong and smart.
Their moments alone are of pure bliss. They really enjoy their moments together. But the problems really get to them.
It show how love can overcome everything.
I love it that the previous couple also appears in the book.
I loved Ally she is smart, has a plan and takes no crap. Now for me Caelen is a little wimpy for my taste. In my opinion he should have stood up to his parents way and their archaic beliefs before he did. Overall it’s a little predictable. I saw where things were going from the start. I enjoyed catching up with Andreas and Freya from Accidental Princess. There was some drama but not the suspense I like from Lexi Whitlow. I could feel the heat and chemistry between Caelen and Ally and there was some hot scenes. If you like royal romance stories I think you might like it. I enjoyed it and was entertained. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy.
Ally is the maid of honor at her best friends’ wedding, and the grooms’ brother is Caelan. These two are like petrol and a match, as the chemistry between them is explosive. Despite the attraction between them, a relationship cannot happen as Caelan has royal obligations for fulfil. This is a well written story, which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all.
