Four minutes. That’s all it took to change mylife forever. I once had a purpose in life. Had a direction.Four damn minutes changed it all. I tried to live for my club. I was doing whatI needed to do each day. I was in a bad place when I met Lyric. She wasn’t much better.Together we found a way to move on. I found some sort of strength in her and shefound safety and love in me. The only question … safety and love in me.
The only question now is….
Is that enough for me?

This book was very emotional, exciting and just a little bit different. It is a extremely rare occurance when you feel safe in saying an MC romance has a foundation of pure emotion but in my oppinion this one did. Crow and Lyric’s story is heartaching, sweet, dramatic, painful, hopeful, suspenseful, action packed steamy and heartbreaking.
It has taken hours since I finished this story for me to be able to sit down and write this review. There is no way I can do this book justice. I read and listen to a lot of books and this has to be the most emotional stories I know of. I DON’T LIKE TO PUT SPOILERS IN REVIEWS BUT I HAD TO IN THIS ONE SO BE ADVISED.
Crow is not the stereotype biker. He is made up of a different type person that what I expect from a biker. There have been plenty of bikers who go soft for a woman and family but not faced with these issues. He doesn’t quite have the hardness of a biker. He is more the dad everyone wants. He is also the guy that things just don’t seem fair. His relationship with women doesn’t seem to go right until he meets Lyric. She is totally different from other women he has known. She is suffering with her own issues. Together they seem to fit. This turns out not to be you HEA or even HFN type story. I think the author did a great job in pointing out that Crow had so many people who cared about him. He had formed so many relationships but he was missing the one thing that was his heart. I liked the secondary characters. Some were from previous stories and I enjoy when I feel like old characters are involved in ongoing stories because it gives me a feeling of familiarity. This author does an excellent job with her stories having such relatable characters even though I have never been involved in any motorcycle gangs. She also did an outstanding job of making me cry through more than a few parts of this book. The ending, I feel is perfect even though I was in tears for awhile. As always I look forward to her next story, or maybe after this one I’m not sure my emotions can handle it.
Top of my recommended list
Title: Crow
Author: Erin Trejo
Genre: Contemporary MC

*RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW*
Wow, what a book. If any of y’all are like me you found out Lyric was plus size and had to read it for that reason alone. Lyric and Crow are both damaged emotionally but are able to start to heal the other. Yet, for Crow it isn’t enough.
Erin Trejo has been perfecting her ability to tug on the reader’s heart strings. She is able to lure you in with promises of a HEA and then in a cruel twist of fate that is all too true to life, another ending happens. The truth can be stranger than fiction and Trejo is able to play our heartstrings like a fiddle.
My only criticism is I would have loved this to have been a dual POV book. To have felt Lyric’s emotions would have been icing on such a succulent story. I hate that their journey together has ended. Yet for everything there is a season and people come and go from our lives like the wind. They may stay like for a day, a week, a year, or a lifetime. Regardless of how long we have them in our lives we need to remember they have something to teach us.
Such a beautiful, talented, deep work or literature. A moving and loving work that will only last for so long. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to read this book before the release date. I recommend this book.
Crow: Soulless Bastards MC So Cal by Erin Trejo was an emotional read for me filled with heartbreak and pain. Seeing the torment and pain that Crow endured by his loss was sad, but when he met Lyric and he saw she felt the same pain he was going through, he knew he had to save her. Maybe she was sent to save him? Now you are taken on this journey of two people falling in love as one has already coursed his path, but before this can happen Crow has insured that Lyric would know her self worth and be given a second chance at life even if it means without him. With the love and support of his brothers and Lyric, Crow is still determind to go out they way he feels the ending should be for him. This is one book that will have you dreading the end and wanting four minutes to last forever! Erin, you have given your readers a lesson that even with death, we are still surrounded by love. I highly recommend this book! I voluntairly reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Man I want to say I hate the ending but I can’t, it was perfect. This was such a change from this author for this club. I mean we all know that they are the craziest, wildest and most vicious. Hell Ruger is his best friend and everyone knows he wasn’t like them. Lyric had her own brand of ugly going on. That night was all it took. Fate took over from there. It’s a sad yest beautiful story. One of pain and anguish only a parent knows. An emotional tale of mistreatment and abuse, bullying and so much more. Life has a way of taking the bad and turning things around. This story will touch you. It will make you sigh. Hells bells you might even shed a tear. I love this author and have enjoyed her characters as well as being revolted by them and their actions, but Crow?? Well Crow has left me feeling floored.
I think I have a hate/ love relationship with this author lol! she makes me fall in love with them and then she takes them away from me. But in the meantime I enjoy reading their story and Crow this man just about left me picking up the pieces. I don’t know if to be happy or keep crying but one thing I know I’m happy by the way the story ended even with a broken heart it was a good ending.
This is so much more than the typical MC book. Crow is a biker with compassion, sensitivity, and real empathy. He knows the path his life needs to take, but he has some unfinished business to attend too. Lyric is the woman he falls in love with, but she needs to have her self worth repaired after years of people telling her she’s not worth anything. Their love story is so pure and uplifting, it brought tears to my eyes. And then Crow needs to fulfill his destiny. I have never cried through out the majority of a book before, and don’t know that I want to again. But this book is haunting, sad, but at the same time hopeful for what can be. Erin Trejo’s story will wring every emotion from you.
**** I received an ARC for this book and this is my honest review. ****
I couldn’t put this book down … even when it totally wrecked me. I came to know Crow as the best friend in Ruger but didn’t know how back story. What a tragic one it was. When Crow meets Lyric it’s not in a bar or at a party, it’s in an old warehouse where they both planned to take their lives. These two lost souls found each other just when they needed someone the most. Erin Trejo has a knack for writing troubled characters but I think that with this book she totally out did herself. As wrecked as I am right now, I can’t wait for the next book in this series to find out what happens next.
I was given an ARC to read and do an honest review. This is brutally honest. Grab a box of tissues and this book. You won’t regret having either.
I didn’t think Erin could write another book that would bring so many emotion out of me than any of the other Soulless Bastards, but I was wrong. Each time we meet one of the So Cal boys I think they are my favorite then Erin gives us another one and I fall in love all over again. Crow will always have a spot in my heart though, this is such a great story!
Crow is really not your typical biker, he has a soft side that most bikers don’t and if they do they don’t show or use it. The night he decides to end all he finds Lyric trying to do the same thing. Can two lost souls that have one night of shared good find each other? Lyric makes Crow rethink life and death while he in turn makes her realize she is special and beautiful.
Have you ever finished reading a book and needed a couple of days to decompress from the emotional impact it had on you? This is one of those books. Trejo’s Crow totally wrecked me! The emotional rollercoaster ride this book took me on, I had to take a day or two to decompress after reading….and because I am a glutton for this kind of joyous punishment, I read it again!
While Soulless Bastards MC South Cal are known to be true to their name, Crow is a closeted bleeding heart in a world of black hearts. He meets Lyric at the lowest point in both of their lives. Together they are “two broken and lost souls trying to ease the other’s pain even if for a little while.” But, Crow sees in Lyric a fire that others try to beat down with their verbal abuse. He makes it his life mission for Lyric to see the beautiful song bird she is.
From word one, you know where the story is going, but you will find yourself rooting for these characters with all your heart. Trejo give her readers a lesson in love, loss and self-worth in one novel. Depending on your perspective, this is a HEA book. LOVE that this book’s heroine is plus sized (or real sized as I call myself). Trejo’s books never disappoint …although you may want to shake your fist at her after the end of many of her books. I can’t wait to see which Soulless Bastard is next and dive deeper in to the world of delicious, dark debauchery again.
*I received an ARC of this book, but does not reflect on my review.
HOLY COW what a roller coaster of emotions this was. Kudos to Ms. Trejo for writing a storyline that kept me enthralled from start to finish. The characters were so well defined I felt every ounce of joy and pain right along with them. The storyline grabbed a piece of my heart and has still refused to let go.
If you have kept up with the series, Crow is an MC brother through and through, he will do anything for his brother and the club, yet something dark is within him that calls for his death. He struggles with why he hasn’t been called to die everyday. On the anniversary of the worst day of his life he meets Lyric. She too struggles with daily with just existing in her cruel world. Destiny has brought these two emotionally damaged souls together but is that enough? Can they move forward for one another or are they both just too far gone and simply giving each other a moment of peace?
My Gosh this book tore my heart to shreds yet gave me a sense of happiness at the same time. It’s an amazing addition to the series full of sadness, hope, love and contentment. While Crow can be read as a stand-a-lone, for more enjoyment I recommend reading the series in order. In order or not, I highly recommend reading Crow’s story, you won’t be sorry you did. 2 Thumbs up and a 10 star read if there ever was one (In my humble opinion).
Wow! There are just no words for this story. It’s gritty and completely emotional. It’s a story of life lived and love lost. One of finding purpose in a life full of tragedy. Beautifully written…….
ღ I have absolutely fell in love with Erin’s books! Every time I pick up one of her books I’m in awe of her storytelling & yet at the same time I’m so damn mad Cuz she has me in tears half way through the book, I don’t think since I’ve started reading Erin Trejo books I’ve ever been disappointed .. This book is no exception to that rule
I just finish Crow & Lyric book,& When I originally sat down to write my review on this book I found myself just staring at my screen wondering how to put in words my feelings about these two lost souls who found their way back with each other’s help.
To be completely honest I find myself saying this more & more lately especially with Erin’s books. No matter what I write in my review it cannot compare to the experience that you will have by holding your Kindle in your hand & experiencing this on your own for each person I believe it will have a different effect on them, I believe that I will leave you with that thought
Four minutes. doesn’t seem like a long time, but That’s all it
took to change his life forever.
YES Erin books maybe rough around the edges & even too dark for most, but if that’s the way you feel don’t complain after being warn that the book is dark & touch on sensitive subjects

Paulette Review
5 Heartbreaking Stars
Crow and Lyric are two people whose paths crossed at their lowest times and it was then that Crow knew he needed to help Lyric understand that no matter what size she was, she was worth more than she knew. Crazy that a bad*ss biker knew that beauty runs deeper and he did everything in his power to make sure that Lyric would find a path to follow out of the self-destruction she was in.
The MC is stronger than ever and just as nasty but they always have that brotherhood bond that kept them glued together. This is another great book in the So Cal series that put me through the wringer emotionally. It brought light out of the dark. I highly recommend this heartbreaking MC read.
I can’t describe how I felt reading this. Most times Erin gives you twisted and crazy but this subject hit close to home. I had a moment today that I havent had before while reading. Love this series but I will hold this one close.
Reading this book I was trying to figure out why Crow wanted to kill himself and what happened to Gabe. Trying to remember reading about what happened to them. Meeting Lyric was something he was meant to do. But talk about a tear jerker for me, it was. No happy ending hear.
I knew when I first started to read this book it was going to be totally different from the others in a sense that crow didn’t have that hardened crust to him like Smokey, draven or ruger. Lyric was amazing, she was brought in to her own with crow guiding her along the way. Removing her self doubt and building her up to be a stronger person. But this book although it prepares you in a way for the end result it still shreds you heart into tiny pieces when it happens. Amazingly written touching many hard subjects which will break you side open but unable to stop reading. Totally loved this book even though it touched me a little close to home on many issues to covered.
Erin I need for you to take a step back and take a bow as I give you a standing ovation!!! That was one of the best book you have written to date!! The raw emotions left me feeling powerless. The turmoil caused my heart to ache.
“Four minutes. Four painstaking minutes of my life. It sounds like nothing. To some, it may be, but for me four minutes was all it took to ruin my life. That’s all it took to steal the breath from my body.”
I literally took in each and every detail written.
“Maybe he’s right. Maybe I have more in me, but if that’s true, I’m not sure how. I’ve given about all I have to give. I’m still me though. I’m still Crow, the mother-f**king Soulless Bastard.”
Simply put, this was a brilliantly written and powerful book!!
Not sure what to say now I’ve read this book. Time has stood still and I haven’t been able to stop the emotions running through me, bloody hell Erin you just destroyed me.
This is a heart wrenching story of a man so gentle, yet broken, that you have to wonder what he is doing with a bunch of hard arsed MC members. A man clearly loved by this brothers in the MC, who has suffered unbelievably emotionally, yet is still loyal to a fault to those that matter to him.
Lyric is the victim of so much bullying and abuse that her confidence is destroyed, can Crow help her find herself again?
This book is a roller coaster of emotions and believe me you will want tissues, but that’s all I’m gonna say about that.
