All I wanted was a new beginning after leaving my cheating ex, but life in the big city wasn’t what I thought it would be. But he saw mine. Waiting tables in a quiet little town isn’t exactly the start I’d been hoping for until the handsome stranger at table four turns my world upside down.

This story is one that seems such a forbidden romance. The author throws in a tough subject and makes it classy and understandable. The characters are real and raw and you will love to hate them sometimes. Nikki rose has quite the way with words that speak to your soul.
Addy and hunter are thrown together in a moment that neither expected. What goes from unexpected turns into an obsessive romance you will fall in love with!! The pages couldn’t be turned quick enough!!
I was given the opportunity to read this book for an honest review. I will be reviewing the entire series, and this one was well worth the read! Crossing the Line focuses on the story of Hunter and Addy. This story had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning, refusing to let me put it down. I HAD TO KNOW!
At the beginning, you think Hunter is nothing but a killer, but as the story unfolds, you find out the truth. At first, I didn’t like him, I was completely turned off by him. Especially when he treated Addy the way he did, but I understood it as the book continued. There are times I wanted to hit him, but by the end of the book, I was totally infatuated with all things Hunter. He just wants to keep Addy safe, even if he goes about it in all the wrong ways.
Addy was burned by her ex and now she’s in a new city. Little does she know that her life is about to get turned upside down. After witnessing a murder, she goes into witness protection and life only gets crazier from there. She trusts Hunter, but when things go sideways, she’s not sure who she can trust.
Hunter is addicting. His words, his affection. Once I get past the rough exterior that makes him, him… he is HOT! Lord. I needed to turn my AC on in this house to cool off! And its COLD where I am y’all! Together, Hunter and Addy create sparks big enough to create the best bonfire ever, and each time after is just as hot as the previous.
I’m not gonna lie, when I first started the book, I wasn’t sure I would like it… but I couldn’t put it down and by the end, I was sucked in so deep, you’d think I was living in their world with them. Nikki wrote out such amazing details that you feel like you are watching this as though it’s a movie playing out on the TV in front of you.
This is the 1st in a new series from this new author, and she has done a great job in penning this tale. Hunter and Addy’s story is filled with mystery, suspense, action, twists, and is a steamy read with complex characters and plot. I look forward to reading more from this author as she is certainly one to watch out for in the future.
Crossing the Line by Nikki Rose is the First book in The Line Series. This is the story of Addy and Hunter. Hunter is a contracted killer but only does people who are marked as bad. Hunter has become obsessed with Addy who has moved into the neighborhood he is in. When she witnessed a murder he was involved in he takes her. This is when Addy learns who and what he really is which of course makes things hard for her to except at first.
Enjoyed this book.
What a great debut novel for Ms. Rose. I enjoyed the story development and the plot. I enjoyed the characters. Hunter, being a killer, surprised me. But, perhaps this happens when someone else intrigues you, and you think, hey, maybe I can fall in love. Will Addy get her new life? Will it, can it include Hunter? I enjoy unexpected romances!
WOW!
Addy and Hunter’s story is an absolute page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. These two characters are from totally different worlds but are perfect together. Their chemistry is electric. Their journey isn’t easy easy, but their love conquers in the end. This book is full of secrets, action, drama and romance.
OHHHH! Suspense and romance just jump off the pages of this new release by Nikki Rose. Crossing the Line is a stand-alone story in The Line series, and it IS incredible. With great characters and lots of action the story is a gripping and sensational read. The instant connection and the romance between the characters is off the charts. 5-stars for Crossing the Line by Nikki Rose.

After making a few friends she stumbles across a murder in an alley on her way home from a night out. Now she is in danger and has no one to turn to as she’s placed in witness protection. Hunter Wright didn’t expect to become obsessed with the beautiful woman in the building next door, but he couldn’t stop himself. When Addy see’s something and someone she shouldn’t Hunter is determined to keep her safe and to keep her from talking. Taking Addy and hiding her away is Crossing the Line but he’s counting on begging forgiveness instead of asking permission with both her and his boss. Now Hunter and Addy are both running for their lives and they are running out of places to hide.
Enjoyable novel. Hitman falling for a neighbor who becomes a witness to one of his hits. Hunter is a man living a double life, as he must in his line of work. Addy is a woman starting a new life and gets removed before she can even really begin it. The good guys are sometimes the bad guys and the bad guys are sometimes the good guys. The only thing I really didn’t like was Addy being so passive aggressive about the whole thing until she couldn’t be.
I really enjoyed Hunter and Addy’s story! After leaving her cheating fiance, Addy moves to the city alone to start over. Within days, she witnesses a horrible crime, and is put in witness protection. From there, her life just gets crazier and crazier. Really good, fast paced read, can’t wait for more!
This is the first book I’ve read by Nikki Rose. It was so good!! New girl in town, hot guy across the street and a witness to a murder. What more do you need?! Addy moves to the city to start a new life for herself. She ends up witnessing a murder and ends up in witness protection. Enter Hunter! This is such a great story! I can’t wait for the next book!!
Hunter’s life is filled with terror and violence. One night he happens to look out from his balcony across the street to the next building and sees a beautiful, carefree woman dancing while unpacking. Intrigued, he can’t help but to keep watching her discreetly. He wants to meet her and when it finally happens, it unfortunately is not the way Hunter had wanted or expected.
Addy is dealing with breaking off her engagement with her cheating ex and moving into a new city. When she goes out for a night of drinking and karaoke with some new friends, she never expects to be whisked away from the police into protective custody after witnessing a crime. After obtaining a new identity and settling in her new home, she starts working for the local diner and meets a handsome customer, Hunter. After a few dates and ending up in bed together, Addy makes a startling and shocking discovery about Hunter. With Addy now in danger, how can she trust the one person she was starting to fall for, knowing who he really is and what he is capable of?
What an amazing debut! The story kept me captivated and I enjoyed the characters. Looking forward to reading future books from this author (hoping Chris’ book will be next!).
This is my first book by this author, and it defs won’t be the last. Loved it, loved how the reader was kept in suspense, loved the chemistry between Addy and Hunter. I believe this was a debut novel for this author and if it is already this good I can’t wait to read more

From the first page I was grabbed by Addy, who appeared to be a gentle character and just knew she would meet someone epic.
Her story is like no other and quite the adventure. Moving to a new town, breaking off her engagement, getting kidnapped, drugged and more! Seriously, this girl… her life is flipped on it’s head.
At the heart of it all is Hunter- gentlemen, lover and killer. I liked getting to see all his sides, even his creepy peeping tendencies kept my attention 🙂
The dual point of view gave me a better understanding of all the emotions in play and the angles being played.
Sexy and action packed, it was an easy read with a HEA.
I really enjoyed this novel, it kept me on the edge of my seat and honestly I loved it. I love anti-heroes and people always assume they need to be borderline bad guys but anti-heroes need love too. All in all I loved it.
Fast paced and suspense packed. Strong debut book! Looking forward to more books from Nikki Rose.
This was my first romantic suspense novel and I was pleasantly surprised! Addy and Hunter are characters that grab your attention from the beginning. I found myself wishing the book was longer because SO much happened at the end with twists I never saw coming. I had to go back and re-read everything to make sure I captured it all. Nikki is an author that I look forward to reading more from in the future!
Crossing the Line was my first Nikki Rose book and clearly was not my last since I have also read the other two books in this series.
I love a good anti-hero and Hunter is just that. His life is full of crime and violence. Addy moves to a new city after ending her engagement. She’s looking for a fresh start after a bad ending.
Hunter sees Addy in he apartment across the street from his for the first time. When Addy goes out with some new friends one night she is witness to a crime. The FBI comes in and takes her to a new town giving her a new identity.
While working in the diner one day a she meets a cute customer, and they go out. Hunter and Addy have immediate and hot chemistry. It jumps off the pages of the book. Rose does an amazing job with this. Addy begins to fall in love with Hunter before she realizes this true.
Nikki Rose delivered and absolute amazing debut novel and start to this series.
3.5
This book started out great!! Loved the characters and the unfortunate situation they found themselves in.
However, I was highly disappointed that the main male character, Hunter, decided not to fight for the woman he supposedly loved, Addy, and thought a mutual friends with benefits relationship with a female coworker was ok. Whatever, I assumed Addy would make Hunter grovel and eventually forgive him. But we never got to see any of that because the book just ended abruptly after Addy sees Hunter in the midst of his job. I literally kept turning the pages to see if there was an epilogue because that’s how suddenly the story ended. But alas there was none.
