I wish it would have been a little longer. I felt it ended to fast, but I think that was also because I was enjoying the story.
Crossing the Line by Kay Lyons, book three in her Taming the Tulanes series, is a small town story with lots of drama, people feeling like outsiders of their own family, and insecurity. After receiving some bad news, Shelby has a sizzling one night stand with Luke, the last time he was in town for a brother’s wedding. Shelby is Luke’s sister’s best friend and has crushed on Luke on and off over the years; although Luke has crushed on her too. That one night leads to unexpected consequences; but Shelby keeps pushing Luke away; due to her dysfunctional and difficult family background. Shelby is set in her ways and quite stubborn, unwilling to give Luke a chance until she does. When tragedy strikes, Shelby and Luke learn much about themselves, their desires, and whether or not they will continue to have a future together.
Ms. Lyons wrote an enjoyable romance that may or may not be a stand alone; lots of conversations had me feeling like I was missing parts of what was going on or the history behind it. This story had magnetic attraction, a caring but meddling family, and charming secondary characters helping Shelby and Luke get their happily ever after. I recommend Crossing the Line to other readers. 3.5/5
Actually I recommend the whole series! You’ll laugh, cry, smile and laugh, cry and smile again!
I appreciate that this book was clean, it had no bad language and no sex scenes. It’s a light, easy read, comfy romance.
Couple expecting baby marry against her will. Separated by miscarriage, she gives up on marriage until she realizes they really love each other.
I was ready to choke the heroin most of this book but she finally pulled it together in the end.
i’ve never read kay lyons book before but i’m sure gonna read another one of her novels again, its been so long since i read a book with so much emotions it brought me to tears.so if you are a sucker for a really emotional and heart warming romance you should read this.
A great story! I love the characters and realistic storyline!
Awesome book
Strong characters, did the right thing, took responsibility for his actions.
Childhood holds many memories for most. Not all are good or pleasant. It takes a special friend to attempt making new memories believable.
Great
Try being a Tenn.southern pageant girl raised by one high-drama mama with a best friend who comes from a ‘perfect’ family that has an awesome brother to pageant girl’s best friend. Totally twisted and full of family secrets. No wonder pageant girl absolutely cannot trust love. Until the risk of losing the best man ever. Good read!
I have found a new author. I loved this book and had to continue to read the series.
