Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve read a Cross book, I need to go back and revisit the ones I have missed.
This one is mostly about the Cross family, a relative of Alex’s is accused of murder and is on trial. His niece, Naomi, who was kidnapped in one of the first Cross books, Kiss The Girls, is representing her family member in court.
But there’s another case Alex helps to solve while he’s back in the town where he grew up.
This was a complex plot which highlighted things in Alex’s past that he wasn’t aware of about his parents. The outcome of which was startling to say the least.
It was wonderful catching up with the character that has been most influential in my own writing career.
The only thing that spoiled it for me was the overuse of the word SAID, there were a few sections where it was said every line. Ugh…
Another action packed Alex Cross book. Another must read.
Always a winner with James Patterson
Typical Patterson, fast moving with a great story line.
Awesome book
I enjoyed the entire Alex Cross Series… read all 26 books in less than 1 year!
James Patterson is fantastic! Love everyone of his books! A great story
I loved this book. It really pulled me in fast like all of Patterson’s books. The writing style is simple and straightforward, yet it’s simply captivating. A great read!
I had a hard time putting this book down and loved every minute of it. I cant believe the reviews that say it was not good. This books main story is a personal journey and two different levels for the Cross family as they go back to Alex’s hometown where he lived with his parents. I dont want to give any thing away but I was blown away by the stories for this part of Alex’s life and enjoyed getting to know him even better. The murder mystery that took place there was also interesting and keeps you guessing up till the end!
Some people say the ending was rushed and while I can see there point I dont really agree.
I also liked the 2nd story line and the way they were entwined.
