One of the best sci-fi books I’ve read in awhile. It’s good enough I’ll buy the sequel!
Derivative and simplistic. Nothing new or exciting here.
Just a plan good read!
Characters are kind of one dimensional but I enjoyed the book.
Have purchased the second.
Classic Space Opera Sci-Fi. Aliens vrs. Space Corps good guys. They all want to eliminate humans and we’re not keen on that idea. Lots of space battles. No endless political intrigue. Anthony James is a fairly prolific author, so if you find this to your liking you will have lots to occupy yourself with.
A great plot and cast of characters that molds into a nonstop action thriller. Anthony James weaves an intriguing story that lets the reader slowly discover the nature and capabilities of the ESS Crimson.
One of the best military sci-fi books I’ve read in awhile! Lots of action, intrigue and spaceships.
I really like how the author hasn’t made the spaceships big, sprawling, Star Trek-style spaces; the ships in Crimson Tempest are small and cramped and it gives a different feel to the story.
This is the first book in what appears to be a lengthy series, so get ready to get your read on!
Good read
I enjoyed this entre into The Survival Wars by Anthony James enough that I have gone on to buy other books in the series. All of them have been really good reads. If you are looking for a good space opera that is action packed, this series is for you.
A good SF series, easy to read. Lots of action and good characters.
I am a Sci Fi junkie. I love to read space adventures and encounters etc. This is a great story that smacks of some actual economics. The society grows lax and allows its defenses to languish may find itself scrambling to develop suitable weapons for defense.
Out story goes from one engagement to the next. Not much time is spent on activities during extended travel time. And true to the military mindset, personal trouble is not communicated any further than what can be extrapolated from events.
I’ll not spoil the story by telling you what the line is, who the enemy is, or how the wars started. I will tell you that there are no “force fields” or “tractor beams”, just old fashioned combat similar to tanks, or submarines.
Safe, good, exciting reading for young readers. As well as old folks like me.
This book was great. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I found myself emersed in the pages and turning as fast as I could.
Excellent space war novel.
Great series as are all of Anthony James books.
Space opera
I really enjoyed this book!
I love this series. Can’t get enough. This is SF at its best!
Just finished book 1 and am going to get the rest of this series.
Just ave to wait for the download and bam! It’s back to the action.
This is a fun series. I am enjoying it still.
Lots of suspense, Starts with a bang, and keeps the mystery all the way through.
Was really happy to find this author.
Have bought second and third books in series now.
