ABOUT THIS EPISODEHow do you profile a serial killer who keeps changing his pattern?A body encased in ice and a cryptic message make Malcolm, Seong-Jae, and Aanga Joshi question everything they thought they’d learned about the Golden Ratio Killer. If their suspect can change his methods and alter his patterns, he could easily disappear……along with any chance of catching him before he … any chance of catching him before he completes his deadly game.
To keep up, Malcolm and Seong-Jae will have to find the bigger picture, the larger plan to intercept their target before that strange message turns into another victim — but it’s the small things tripping them up when their relationship and some unsettled business between them leaves them stumbling around each other and falling head-first into mistakes that could cost them more than just the case.
It could cost another innocent life, and leave that blood stained on their hands.

CRIMINAL INTENTIONS Season Two, Episode Three: COLD CALCULATION by Cole McCade is an awesome book that I have read. Seong-Jae!!!!! Damn it, his secrets are like those layered boxes, where you keep opening one to find a new one! While I understand his reasons, he’s hurting Mal! And that just breaks my heart.
Still not a fan of Joshi. Gah, I really don’t care about him! Adelaide with a crush is adorable. Sade and Huang made me sad. Anjulie and Gabi also made me sad. This is a sad episode for all the relationships I guess.
The case is very intriguing because we are only getting pieces here and there. I’m really interested to see how it goes. Also, fucking hell, I think I know who Seth is! It actually makes sense.
I’m glad it ends on a hopeful note but I feel like the next book might hurt even more. Diving right into the next one!
An excellent and compelling series, you will not want to miss any episodes! This is an amazing episode with nail-biting action and amazing characters.

I want to party with Mr McCade! I want to sip wine and talk about world problems with him. I put him on the level of Shonda Rhimes for mastering dark and twisty! He has to be in the top ten mystery writeres who can 200% intellectually engage a reader, put them through the wringer and have the reader ask for more, please! I enjoy the spider web of the intricacies of balancing personal demons/baggage vs. the criminal mastermind who contributes to the complex beauty of the web with a snip, snip here. Malcolm and Seong-Jae are us! They are every person who loves deeply, has baggage, wants to live and work with integrity and honor but has our human nature that struggles and plays tug of war with our lives. Seong-Jae seems to struggle more, why? Will they get to a better balance? Will GRK slow down? What does he have next for the guys? I receivd an ARC from Booksprout and am happilly voluntarily leaving a review.
So many feelings about this installment of the series. The hunt for the killer is still on, and this episode wasn’t as gruesome as previous ones. We got a lot more of Yoon and Malcolm. I was so frustrated with Yoon at one point, I wanted to throttle him! My heart broke for Mal and that scene was really intense. I know that their relationship won’t be smooth sailing and that there will be bumps but c’mon Yoon. Get your head out of your *beep*! At the end of this episode I felt drained and wanted to hug Mal. Need the next book!
As always I am gobsmacked at how good this series continues to be. I love Malcolm and Seong-Jae but Seong-Jae really needs a good smack, stop it with the damn secrets! I have yet to come away from these characters with anything less than a desperate need for more and that trend does not seen to be stopping anytime soon.

wringing out all the feels here…
I am a bit on the rack over this episode of the mystery because the corpses keep piling up and Seong-jae is trying to bottle up his negative reactions again, which is torturing Malcolm maybe more than himself. But since it’s LA he decides to make a sneak visit home to baby sister Seong-ja and the dose of ‘kawaii’ is for the greater good. We are at McCade’s mercy here because we can’t put it down and the end is nowhere near enough. Everyone needs to listen to their baby sisters.

Cole McCade certainly knows how to ramp up the tension and make me start biting my nails! Wow, this was just more everything – more vicious, more complicated and more emotionally charged. I always liked that the books started with the POV of the victim giving me a unique first row view of the murder that became the catalyst of the coming story. This time with the same killer, it was a bit more disturbing in a good kind of way, especially knowing what kind of havoc one person can wreak.
While life in Baltimore has quietly gone on in the absence of our favorite duo of detectives, the wheels are slowly turning to make something big happen. New and old characters enter the scene, but something is definitely brewing. Hints are being thrown here and there giving food for thought. I love it. Mal and Seong-Jae are feeling the strain on their working and personal relationship as more corpses and facts resurface making it obvious just how far and deep the mystery of Golden Ratio Killer goes.
I loved how deeply both men felt, how they struggled with their feelings and fears, and yet they found their way to each other one way or another. There is just so much passion between them, they clash so beautifully. It’s almost poetic. I love reading both their quiet and tumultuous moments – simply glorious!
With short peeks into the disturbed mind of the killer and multiple POVs the story is just racing! It goes fast, then slows down, and then picks up pace again to just suddenly crash and make me wonder – hell, did I just read what I thought I did? This roller coaster of highs and lows makes the story so compelling and dramatic! Bliss! I can’t wait to find out what’s going to happen next! Copy received for my honest and unbiased review
