In Green Valley, Tennessee everybody knows everybody, but nobody knows Sabrina Logan.Sabrina has been hiding in plain sight for years. Living her life inside of books, dutifully helping her family, and hoping no one will notice her. So far? Mission accomplished!Yet when sexy—and distrustful—sheriff, Wyatt Monroe returns to town with his daughters, he definitely notices the quiet librarian … librarian everyone else overlooks. The single dad can’t seem to shake thoughts of shy Sabrina. Without quite understanding the impulse, Wyatt makes his mission finding her again, so he can . . . well, he’ll just have to reckon with that later.
What Wyatt discovers is a woman who trusts too easily, but who’s afraid to live. Trust doesn’t come easily to Wyatt. But living? That’s never been a problem.
And he’d sure like to show her how.

Crime and Periodicals is the second book in the Green Valley Library series, set in Penny Reid’s Smartypants world, however, it can be read as a complete standalone.
Sabrina was such a great character, shy and awkward to start but eventually coming out of her shell and into her own. I loved how deeply she cared for those around her, willing to do whatever it took to protect them even if it meant sacrificing herself. I don’t even have the right words to describe Wyatt. Single dad, sheriff, protective, swoon-worthy – gahhh I just loved him! And then there were all the kids, who just made this book that much better.
This was such a sweet, fun story! I loved getting a story with brand new characters and still getting glimpses of my favorite Green Valley residents, with some fun little easter eggs thrown in. An easy read, I couldn’t put it down and loved every word.
This was my first book by Nora Everly and I can’t wait to read more!
A sweetly funny slow burn with lots of feels
Book 2 in the Green Valley Library series, part of the Penny Reid book universe, Green Valley world. A new to me author, this book overlaps with Love in Due Time, book 1 in the series and where we first met Sabrina. Jackson James has several appearances as Wyatt’s fellow deputy, while Sienna, Jethro and their kids also get several mentions and/or appearances. I thought this worked well as a standalone but reading Grin and Beard It, Sienna and Jethro’s story, would help set the stage on character background.
The author did a great job of get me invested in these characters and I certainly found Sabrina easy to relate to (“’Quit hiding your sunshine, sweet pea.’ I had no sunshine and I enjoyed hiding. My favorite hiding spot was on my bed with a good book.”) Though extremely shy, Sabrina could be fierce when it came her niece and nephews, and I was so proud of her when she started taking charge of her life that there was a scene in the library late in the story that had me literally cheering out loud. Wyatt was hot and funny, and cautious after getting burned by his ex; that Wyatt had two daughters, and Sabrina was caring for her sister’s children gave them a lot in common, and they both understood that sometimes the kids needed to come first. The chemistry was there between the two from their meet-cute, as was the sweetness.
There were a bunch of great secondary characters here as well: I love that I’m reading more books with characters on the autism spectrum, and Harry is a great example. Though I’m certainly no expert on the subject, I’ve read a little here and there, and I thought the author did a great job not only showing some of the challenges autism presents, but making Harry more than his autism. Other characters adding layers to the story included both Sabrina and Wyatt’s extended families. I enjoyed Sabrina’s niece and older nephew as well as her parents, while I loved Wyatt’s mother and thought the subplot with his father was great touch, added complexity to the character. I’m also hoping we’ll see more from Wyatt’s brothers, .
A sweetly funny slow burn with lots of feels that was perfect for this couple, who each had reasons to take things slowly, this was another great fit for the pennyverse—I kept hearing Joy Nash and Chris Brinkley, the narrators for most of the Winston Brothers series, narrating this in my head, lol. 4.5 stars

What an amazing, wonderful and uplifting story!! As I read Nora Everly’s latest book I felt happy, hopeful and giddy with excitement as I followed the magical journey of Sabrina and Wyatt. I was enraptured by the romantic innocence of Sabrina and the fairy-tale like chivalry of Wyatt. What an enchanting tale of true love, pure honesty and heartfelt yearning. I actually read the book twice so I could experience their courtship all over again.
I absolutely loved Sabrina with her stylish headbands, cute glasses and of course, her endless supply of MAC lipsticks. Books were her life along with her beloved family, especially her nephew, Harry. Sabrina embraced life with enthusiasm and never let her shyness deter her from being her own person. She knew she should be more open to meeting people and socializing, but she wanted to do it on her own terms.
Running into Wyatt changed Sabrina’s life and made it necessary for her to lower her shield just a bit, so she could let love in. She had spent many hours reading romance novels and she definitely wanted a happily ever after, with her Prince Charming being a sexy, Deputy Sheriff. As she got to know Wyatt, she found his kindness and family values very appealing. Sabrina blushed when he winked at her, smiled when she saw the love he had for his daughters, and was looking forward to their first date with excitement and wonder. Wyatt made her knees weak and her heart flutter whenever he was near. He was a man who goes after what he wants and the shy librarian was on his radar, and he wouldn’t let her get away.
These books just keep getting better and better with each book in The Green Valley Public Library Series! Each and every author a a unique writing style! I’m also a first time reader of Nora Everly!
Shy Sabrina Logan an assistant librarian at the Green Valley Public Library, always hides out in the shelves trying to be unseen that’s until Wyatt Monroe comes along!
Will Sabrina and Wyatt get their happily ever after or will Sabrina shyness get in their way?
Sabrina thought she was hiding in plain sight. Sabrina is so shy but slowly she is learning to come out of her shell.
When single father Wyatt met her he was struck with lightning. Wyatt is raising his two girls by himself and feels like he is floundering but Sabrina shows him he is perfect exactly how he is! Seriously love Sabrina and Wyatt. Two people who so clearly need each other!
